Words cannot express how pleased I was with Dynasty Entertainment!!! My wedding night was on the biggest blizzard in October in NJ since 1869....Jack and his crew arrived ON TIME...and performed like nothing was going on outside!!! The Band was ROCKIN!!!! All of my family and friends danced the night away. The talent blew me away, the music selection was just what I had asked for. Jack ALWAYS answered my emails in a timely fashion...he gave me everything he promised1 I would recommend this band whole heartedly. They get a 10 in my book!!!

I had lots of crazy music requests for our wedding, and the DJ played just about everything. He even let me use the microphone to announce group pictures I wanted to take. He worked great with our reception place and made sure he was always ready for the next event. He wasn't overbearing like some DJs can be, but enough excitement to get everyone excited and dancing.

Dynasty Entertainment was great! They really brought the wedding to life with their great music. Our dance floor was def. rockin the whole night! Guests were even screaming "Encore!" when it was time to end. Originally when we visited Dynasty Entertainment my husband and I just wanted to get a DJ for the night of the wedding; thinking that having a band was def. out of our budget! But they were able to work with us and within our budget we had a 5 piece band and a DJ! The 5 piece band played throughout the dinner service and a piano player during cocktail hour. Once dinner was over the DJ came it to get the party started! He did an amazing job!

The music was fantastic! My ceremony was on the beach. I had flute and harp music and it was perfect. For my cocktail hour we had a saxophonist and pianist. I received numerous compliments about the musicians and their talent. It was just perfect!

We were thrilled with our band! A) The value of cost was amazing. B) Everyone was dancing the entire event.... which is hard to do at a 2PM Sunday wedding, but they made it happen! Jack was so easy to work with and everyone was so very professional. Rave reviews all around!

Our experience with Dynasty Entertainment was absolutely wonderful. I found them while doing an internet search for bands that could play a wide variety of music. We met personally with Jack Goodman, the owner, in his office. We watched many video clips and I was pleased but still hesitant at not being able to hear the band live. We booked them for our wedding at the Venetian in Garfield, NJ, based on gut feeling and price. We felt Jack Goodman seemed like a fair and honest businessman – and trust me – we were right! We got an 11-piece band and 2 cocktail hour musicians at a very reasonable price. We shopped around extensively for a band because we knew that this could make or break the reception and we definitely made the right choice. Dynasty far exceeded other bands’ offerings as far as music styles and value. Other bands told us that they would need to supplement with either a DJ or recorded CDs to cover our range of music preferences, but Dynasty was able to play every style we wanted for the entire night! They were easy to work with from start to finish. We kept in touch periodically via email and when the wedding was getting closer, we were asked to provide the band with music preferences, etc. We returned our information and requests in a timely manner and mentioned some things that were highly important to us. The band was a hit! They played a wide variety of music including 70s, 80s, 90s, Pop, Latin, Disco, Rock, Oldies – you name it!! They even played Spanish Pasodoble for us (which no other band was willing or able to do) And they did it amazingly well! The two lead singers in the band interacted with our guests on the dance floor in a fun and playful manner. It was obvious that these performers enjoy what they do and their enthusiasm was contagious. Everyone had a great time and we received endless compliments on the band and their performance. I highly recommend Dynasty Entertainment for their professionalism, value, and quality.

They were awesome! The band - ReelTime - had the dance floor packed all night. The only criticism I would have is that the lead singers came onto the dance floor, and that's not something we discussed. Had I known they would do that, I would have requested that they didn't....

We are very happy that you thought our band was "awesome". Our goal is make all of our clients special days perfect. Our singers do go out on the dance floor unless we are told not to. If we would have know you didn't want this we would have been happy to oblige. Our singers use their energy and enthusiasm to create fun on the dance floor. At the Knoll Country Club, where we are recommended, the performance area is adjacent to the dance floor so the singers were already on the edge of the dance floor.

We are always happy to do whatever our clients want to ensure a fantastic affair.

Every step of the way Dynasty Entertainment was great to work with. They were wonderful and did a great job helping us plan our day. We had a keyboard player for our ceremony and cocktail hour then a DJ for our reception. Both did an amazing job! I was worried no one would be dancing at the wedding but to my surprise no one would stop dancing! They played a great selection of music while meeting our needs. Highly recommend them!

This band was incredible from start to finish of our wedding day- and before! Jack came to our home to share samples of the band's work, and he was very flexible in working out pricing that worked for us. Jack and his staff were kind, enthusiastic, and helpful any time we needed anything- truly just a pleasure to work with.

The ceremony music was lovely and set the stage for an elegant and meaningful start to our marriage. The All Stars band, just one of the Jack Goodman Orchestra's groups, had all of our guests up on the dance floor the entire reception. They played a great array of music to keep everyone happy from grandparents to recent college grads.

We could not have asked for a better band to help us celebrate our big day. We would highly recommend this group to anyone who wants to make sure their wedding reception is the time of their life!

Band was amazing, they were able to perform most songs that I requested and did a beautiful job singing "Lauretta Mia" in Italian. We had asked if they could perform a variety of music from hip-hop, sinatra classics, rock-n-roll, italian classics, latin music, 70's and 80's music to todays top current songs. We asked for a variety and they were able to provide us that service 100%

Would recommend this Dynasty Entertainment to any bride looking for a variety of music to be played at their reception!

We hired an Arabic band through Dynasty Entertainment for our wedding on October 1, 2010 and couldn't be happier! Jack was amazing in helping us find the perfect fit for our wedding. we had hired a DJ previously and were looking for a band to enhance our entertainment. We were concerned that the DJ and Band may not work well together, but the day of the wedding everything went perfectly! Leading up to the wedding Jack and Suzy were great in finding us a band less than 2 months before the wedding. Jack showed us several bands and made sure we got the perfect one. Every time we came to the office they were both so nice and pleasant to deal with.

The band worked so well with our DJ and kept everyone entertained throughout the night. We couldn't come up with a request list in time for the band, so they were able to choose with all of their own songs and did a fantastic job. All of the band members were courteous and professional, and Jack even stopped by to make sure we were happy.

I would highly recommend using Dynasty Entertainment!!!

Jack Goodman and Dynasty Entertainment did a wonderful job for my wedding! They played a great mix of all types of music continously, were energetic and had the crowd on their feet the whole time. They completely made my wedding. Friend are still talking about how much the reception was because of the music and the band!

Also, there were extremely easy work with, were flexible with music choices and open to learning new songs for my wedding day. I could not have asked for more!!

We hired the reel time band and they were a hit. I liked how they played the genre of music we asked for (a little bit of everything), and they did an excellent job with introductions/MCing. I did leave the band with a lot of discretion in terms of what songs to play because they are the ones who know what brings people to the dance floor (and everyone danced!) Our biggest concern was that we didn't want to single out a specific age group at our wedding (with regards to song selection) and we didn't want the music to be very loud that people couldn't hear themselves conversing. We had neither of these problems that are common at other weddings I've been to.

I'm the bride and was pretty busy with work and school (up to the wedding) and they always kept calling me to make sure they had what they needed (ie song list, special instructions etc) and that was a plus to be working with professional/"on top of it" people.

One of our newly engaged friends who was at our wedding just hired them too for their wedding, which is the best way to say "your band rocked."

Overall our DJ was ok for the money spent. He played the same song twice during the reception and played some other songs that I felt weren't the best dance songs. They seemed to clear some people off the dance floor at times and I wished that he would have switched the songs when he saw this happening. He also cut some songs off at odd times. He was very nice however and was accommodating to what we requested. I am happy with him overall, I had just wished for some of the song choices to have been different.

Vendor response to review

We always appreciate all comments. We are very glad she mentioned she was glad overall and that the DJ was very nice and accommodating. However, since it is our main concern that our couples are completely happy with our entertainment we would like to address some of the other comments.

On the day of the wedding there was a heat wave and the venue cranked up the air conditioning to try to keep everyone cool. Unfortunately the power at the venue failed and was not restored for approximately 2 hours. It was extremely hot, forcing some of the guests to leave. Our DJ felt very bad and offered to stay an additional 2 hours for free but since the venue had another party scheduled after, it wasn't possible. The bride and groom did appreciate his offer.

Our DJ who has been DJ'ing for several years, for all types of events, only played the same song twice because a guest insisted. This is not something that is typically done. We will gladly take song requests unless we are told not to. We will always do our best to accommodate everyone.

Since the affair was cut short due to the power outage, the DJ tried to get in as many songs as he could. Our DJ was saddened that there wasn't enough time.

In conclusion, even though the affair was cut short, everyone seemed to have a great time and packed the dance floor.

Dynasty Entertainment made our wedding. We had a pianist playing music at our rehearsal dinner, a bagpiper at the ceremony, and a twelve person orchestra at the reception. The process to hire and work with them is simple, and their music is outstanding. Every guest wanted to be on the dance floor all night! Guests at our wedding hired Dynasty Entertainment for their son's wedding in the summer of 2011. I would recommend Dynasty Entertainment with no reservations to any bride looking for any musical needs.

My daughter's wedding on, June 5, 2010,was a wonderful event. We received many compliments from our guests of their enjoyment of dancing and listening to the band at the reception. Everyone was on the dance floor having a great time!

We found Dynasty Entertainment through Wedding Wire, and went with them based on cost and experience in the business. We first met with Jack Goodman, the owner of the company and during this meeting where we were supposed to be telling him what we were looking for at OUR wedding, he kept talking over us and showing us videos from 1998. The videos were mostly of Bands, and we were not interested in a band for our wedding. Ultimately we left the meeting frustrated but still went with them anyway based on price and other customer reviews. Bad idea....

We chose steel drums for our cocktail hour, and a DJ for the ceremony and wedding reception.

They emailed us forms that needed to be filled out with information for the DJ, however we had already filled out information on different forms during our meeting. The forms were extremely difficult to decipher and left no room for the information that actually pertained to our specific wants and needs.

As the wedding drew closer communication became more and more difficult. Throughout the process we had only been communicating with the office secretary and Jack, himself, however a month before the wedding we had 4 different people calling us asking for information we gave to them months ago. We finally requested that all communication be done through the secretary, who is the only one in the office who seems to have a clue as to what was going on. She was our saving grace with this company.

We had planned to meet with the DJ prior to the wedding to finalize everything, however after numerous failed attempts and as many non returned phone calls, we had to request to switch DJ's two weeks before the weeding, out of fear that no one would show the day of the actual wedding. If he couldn't make a simple meeting or return a phone call who was to say he would show up? The new DJ was very cooperative as far as returning phone calls, but he too, like Jack, was not the best listener.

Day of wedding:
Ceremony-
Even though we had given the office and the DJ himself specific time cuts for when we wanted certain music played we still had to go over it again with the DJ an hour before we were to walk down the isle - and even then he had all the timing incorrect. The bride didn't even know it was time to walk down the isle because the DJ didn't turn the music up as we specifically asked him to do.

After our ceremony the DJ needed to be cued to start the recessional music for us to walk out to by giving him eye contact and nodding my head.

Cocktail Hour -
This was the truly one saving grace. We had steel drums and the drummer was amazing. I know many people asked for his card and he did exactly as we asked. He was very friendly when guests talked with him and just overall a great experience. This is the only reason I would ever call dynasty again.

The Reception:
Introductions-
This was by far his worst error of the night. Based on our previous communication with the office and with the DJ himself just 2 hours before the reception he STILL got the timing for our introduction wrong! We went over this at least 10 times and I even gave him exact times, to the second, on when he was to introduce the couples. He even stopped the introduction song when announcing the names which we specifically told him not to do.

Bride/Father dance -
During the father/bride dance the DJ looked to me and was motioning if he should cut the song short not even half way through the song. Whats wrong with playing it all the way through?

Mother/groom dance-
The DJ did the exact same thing for this song while I was dancing with my mom!

Dinner/Dancing-
Even though dinner started out ok with the background music the DJ disappeared to go eat after everyone was served and finished eating. We had to ask the matre de to go find him since we wanted to get the party started and guests were already up mingling. When he returned the music started out as we wanted, playing one song we requested but soon turned into a crazy club mix that was close to listening to jock jams! He needed to be asked 3 times to change the style of music to what we requested; once by the bride, next the maid of honor, then myself. When I asked he said "sure after i play one more song".

Overall:

- Horrible internal communication among owners/employees
- Lack of professionalism from DJ's
- Paid no regard to bride and groom's specific requests


Would NEVER go here again. STAY AWAY FROM DYNASTY!

Vendor response to review

We have been in contact with the groom since we saw this posting and have apologized for any dissatisfaction. We have performed for thousands of events with great success. We also thanked him for acknowledging his happiness with our steel pan performer.

The DJ they selected has been DJ'ing for over 20 years. I was quite surprised to read this posting. We forwarded the comments to our DJ who was shocked. He said the party was great. He asked the couple throughout the evening if everything was okay and the groom continued to give him the "thumbs up". At the end of the evening the DJ was thanked and given a tip. Our DJ said that the groom was motioning for him to cut the songs for the parent dances so he faded out. The groom also gave our DJ the "thumbs up" during the ceremony.

When the couple originally came in to view our entertainment they were leaning towards a DJ but had wanted to see some of our Bands. We showed them some DJ's and Bands that were available for their date. The DJ they selected was from a video taken from a wedding one month prior showing the actual DJ and current repertoire. His personality type was exactly what they were looking for. They chose to hire that specific DJ.

In regards to meeting the DJ, a meeting was planned but had to be rescheduled. At the time the couple totally understood. In fact our DJ was going out of his way trying to arrange a meeting near the couple, but they were having a hard time scheduling a face to face meeting. The DJ they originally chose has never received a complaint. The couple then decided to switch DJ's which we normally do not do. We put them in touch with one of our excellent New York DJ's who has been DJ'ing for over 20 years. They spoke on numerous occasions and the couple decided they were happy with him and decided to go with him.

We require all written requests and announcements to go through our Music Coordinator. They failed to return our forms as is required to ensure the success of their affair. Every company has some type of forms to monitor party details. They chose to deal directly with the DJ leaving the office out of the loop.

Day of the wedding:

When couples walk into the reception room they are introduced. The Maitre'd, Wedding Planner, or someone from the venue motions to the DJ when they are ready for the DJ to start playing the music. The Maitre'd is the one that typically gives the cues, introductions, cake cutting, when food is being served. The DJ must take cues from the Maitre'd or whoever is designated to do so. In their case, the groom took it upon himself to do the cues.

Bride/Father dance, Groom/Mother dance -
Many people choose to not play these songs in their entirety. Some people are not comfortable being the only ones on the dance floor for over 3 minutes. The couple always has the option to play the entire song or not.

The DJ was told to eat which he did while everyone else was eating, when background music is played. Meals are not required but at the discretion of the bride and groom.

In closing, our office tried accommodating the couple to make them happy. Unfortunately they did not return our forms which would have helped us monitor their affair. They failed to provide the office with their dance song requests and other pertinent information which we require. These forms help us ensure the success of every affair, which has worked for us for thousands of events.

When they were not comfortable with the DJ they originally selected we made sure to get them another DJ that they chose which they were in constant communication with before their wedding.

It is baffling to get a complaint when the entertainment was thanked and tipped after the affair.

The music can be a make-or-break for a good reception. It made our reception a memorable one that friends and family are still talking about 2 months afterward.

Although we are probably outside their regular distance of travel, they were willing to travel to our wedding in VA. Planning took a phone extra phone calls but it all went well putting things together. We had a specific song we wanted them to use, so we bought the sheet music (for a couple bucks) and sent it to them. They learned the song- actually using an edited version we made and sent them on a CD! It was perfect.

We were nervous that were had a limit as to what songs we could pick ahead of time, but they said they were good at reading the crowd to see what kind of music they liked to dance to. They were spot on.

In most weddings, guests dance to 8-9pm then start to go home. We had a majority of the guests on the dancefloor until the band was done at 11pm. It was great.

I was referred to Dynasty Entertainment by my friend who had hired one of their DJs for her daughter's sweet 16 and loved them. For my wedding we had a 5 piece band and a DJ/MC combo. I have nothing but positive things to say about this company. The office staff was great and made this tough process very easy. I was unsure of exactly what I wanted and Jack and the music adviser were very helpful and calmed my nerves (without any pressure!) The band was fantastic and the DJ played all the right music and took all of our requests. The dance floor was packed all night! Everybody was professional and courteous and the guests had a great time. I highly recommend Dynasty.

Dynasty Entertainment took the guesswork out of planning for the DJ for us. They were very professional, provided a lot of ideas and advice, and were on top of their game. The DJ was great and played a great selection of music.

We were referred to this company from a friend for my daughter's wedding, but we were still very nervous. We have one daughter and we wanted her wedding to be perfect. After the initial meeting we couldn't believe how many options there are and at first we were totally baffled. After awhile we started feeling better. We finally decided on ceremony music and a band and was surprised that it didn't cost as much as we thought it would. When the big day came we were amazed. We always wanted this day to be special, but never could have imagined how wonderful it actually was. I couldn't stop crying. It was amazing. I even told my husband I want to have another daughter just so I can experience this again. The ceremony music was beautiful and the band was out of this world. We could not have been happier.

Hello my name is Joe Macaro and I am the father of the bride Desiree Macaro. We hired a DJ from Dynasty Entertainment for my daughters wedding Oct of this year at the East Brunswick Chateau in NJ and we had a ball. He played a variety of music that had all the different age groups on the dance floor all night. What I liked most was when we added a few things the night of the reception, he was on it. His job was to make the wedding a success and he past with flying colors. We got many great compliments on the DJ.

DO NOT HIRE DYNASTY ENTERTAINMENT! We were promised a certain level of service when we were at their office and the DJ they sent did not even deliver on the most basic wedding DJ service;

- First dance was interrupted by the DJ then restarted
- There were long period of silence between songs
- Preferred artists and songs were provided ahead of time, but it was obvious nothing was prepared ahead
- Some songs were started and played for less than a minute and cut off by a different song
- Inappropriate rude announcements made through the microphone while guests were having their dinner ("get on the dance floor, it's not rocket science" this is an obvious time for guests to sit down and eat dinner, not dance)
- threatened to play the music at a volume that's high enough to "annoy" the guests and actually turned up the volume to an unbearable level. (The Maitre D' had to ask him to turn it back down)

Overall this is not the service a professional DJ would normally provide. We paid for a professional level of service and we did not receive such service and instead it ruined our first dance and the entire atmosphere of the wedding. Someone with an iPod and speakers could provide a much better service.

We spent over $20,000 for this wedding but because of Dynasty's terrible service, we ended up with guests leaving after the rude comments and the messy music. This is once in a life time event. Shame on them!

Dynasty Entertainment provided the DJ service for our wedding on 10/16/2009. We were promised a certain level of service when we were at their office and the DJ they sent did not even deliver on the most basic wedding DJ service;

They show many videos that look acceptable, but the service we got is not nearly close to what we saw on the video. When we brought it to their attention, Jack Goodman came up with many excuses: that it was "technical glitches" and that we did not give him a playlist in advance. If we prepared our own playlist, then all I needed was ipod+speakers and a remote control.

$750 DJ for 4 hours- Dynasty Entertainment charged us for 4 hours of DJ. Showed us a perfect video that has nothing to do with the DJ showed up for our wedding. A contract that says they are not responsible for "technical glitches". A letter from a lawyer regarding the reviews I posted online.

$450 DJ for 4 hours- single hire DJs with equipment. We have to see a live performance of that specific DJ before paying anything. (at least we know what we are getting)

Vendor response to review

All comments are always appreciated and responded to. The policy of Dynasty Entertainment is to ensure the complete and total satisfaction of our clients with the music and entertainment services we provide for their most special occasions. We have been in business for over 25 years and have served thousands of happy clients, many of whom you will find reviews from on this and other websites. We respond to each and every complaint, and when we receive valid complaints, we have always done the right thing for our clients. This complaint, however, and the various permutations of it posted all over the internet by this couple under the names “Tripodi” and “Fu”, is simply unfounded.

We initially met with the couple in August 2009 and showed them several entertainment options. All services contracted for and promised, and much more, were delivered. Prior to the date of their wedding, the couple received forms from us, like all clients do, asking for specific song requests, styles of music they preferred, and announcements they wanted made at certain points throughout the evening. We also play music requests by guests unless our clients ask us not to. These forms help us customize every affair to each client’s specific needs. The couple requested approximately three songs and did not request any specific styles of music.

Keyboard music was provided for their ceremony as requested. When it came time for the cocktail hour, the couple did not arrange the music, thinking that the reception hall would be piping in music for them, which it did not do. Since our DJ was already there and set up, he took it upon himself to provide music for the cocktail hour, free of charge, event though Dynasty was not contracted or paid to do so. For their reception he DJ’d as contracted. Since the couple never returned all of their forms stating their music requests, the DJ took song requests from the couple’s guests. During the reception there was one moment where the music was interrupted and was quickly restored. Unfortunately this can happen, as our contracts state, as a result of power disruptions related to the reception hall and errors that sometimes occur with even the finest of computers. To please the couple’s guests that were asking for songs, our DJ downloaded song requests from the web, which is an industry standard paractice. When songs are ‘streamed in’ in this manner, there can sometimes be short internet delays during this process. Had the couple returned the song requests forms we sent them, our DJ would have had prepared playlists in advance that would have gone beyond the few songs the couple requested and the general songs that usually work well at weddings. But, without the forms, our DJ was forced to stream in songs from the web one at a time to please the couple’s guests. Our DJ was complimented by the couple as well as many of the guests for playing the songs they requested, and according to our DJ as well as people unrelated to Dynasty, such as the maitre’d for the reception hall, the guests were happy with the songs he played and were having a good time.

The wedding ceremony started at 11:15 am and the reception was from 1 pm – 6 pm on a Friday afternoon. Since it was a long day, and on a Friday, not all of the guests were in a party/dancing mood. A seven hour wedding on a Friday is not common. The DJ tried to motivate the guests to get up and dance by motivating them with humor. He did not make any inappropriate or rude announcements. In fact, one of the comments the couple attributed to our DJ was made by their independently hired videographer. The DJ went out of his way to accommodate all of the guests. He has been with Dynasty for 15 years, performing for hundreds of happy couples.

The couple originally left a message on our voice mail stating their complaints. When our office returned their call and spoke with the groom, he said he was going away on his honeymoom and would get in touch with us when they returned. We apologized for anything the couple believed was not 100% perfect. We put serious time and attention into investigating the couple’s complaints. When we told the DJ about the complaints, he was shocked. He said the couple thanked him at the end of the affair, seemed very pleased and grateful, shook his hand, and handed him a $100 tip. The maitre’d, as noted before, stated that the DJ said nothing inappropriate and did a fine job and that the couple and their guests seemed quite happy. One month after we initially heard from the groom, and after not hearing from the couple again, our office reached out to them with phone calls and emails. After getting in touch with the groom several times, we offered the couple a $350 refund from the $750 DJ fee and explained that we might provide an even larger refund if they showed us the wedding video to corroborate their complaints. The couple declined to accept the refund offered or send us a copy of the video. Weeks passed without Dynasty hearing from the couple. We again reached out to them. We continued to reach out to them because we wanted to do right by them. The couple broke away from all discussions with Dynasty and decided to try to leverage a better refund out of Dynasty by posting nasty, untrue, and malicious comments all over the web.

In conclusion, we provided them with a keyboardist for their ceremony, DJ service for their cocktail hour (without charging them), and DJ with giveaways for their 5 hour reception and offered them a refund of almost 50%, just to leave our client pleased, without finding any independent corroboration that their complaints were valid and justified. The couple has evidence to prove their complaints are valid–if they are—in their wedding video, but they refuse to show it to us. We made clear several times that we might provide them an even larger refund if they did and we could see the issues they are complaining about. Instead, the couple went on a campaign to punish and malign Dynasty in an attempt to leverage us and, frankly, almost extort us. Their complaints are grossly exaggerated and posted multiple times, in various permutations, under several names (Fu and Tripodi), to various wedding services related websites. They have unfairly and inappropriately maligned Dynasty in the hope of forcing Dynasty to provide a free service and, essentially, help pay for their wedding. Since their complaints were malicious and libelous, several websites disallowed their comments, making them re-post their comments in an appropriate way that did not legally malign Dynasty. The Better Business Bureau received their complaint in several different letters from the couple, who continued to seek a greater than almost 50% refund with out providing the corroboration they hold in their hands with the video. The BBB closed the file, stating Dynasty did all it could to accommodate the couple and suggesting that the couple accept the generous refund we had offered.

We had a mixed experience with Dynasty Entertainment. We liked them at first, but then in the days leading up to our wedding, we found them a little difficult to deal with. All payments had to be made by cash or check, and had to be dropped off in the office during certain hours. As we got closer to the wedding, we recieved a packet in the mail with all of our information for the wedding that needed to be filled in. This is standard, but what was wierd was some of the other stuff that was in there. There was a page that stated that we must provide a meal to our dj. This wasn't a big deal because we were planning on doing it anyway, but at no point when booking were we told it was a "must". Also, the packet said that we would have to pay extra if they needed to track down any songs. We didn't need them to track anything down, but again, this was not mentioned when we booked. They also limited our list of "must plays" and "do not plays". The day before the wedding, our DJ got the flu. So, Dynasty sent a replacement DJ. We were told that he was being forwarded all of our information, and my husband even spoke to him on the phone. However, at the reception, he came into the bridal suite to ask for everyone's names again. I went through all of them again, and he didn't even write them down until my maitre'd yelled at him and made him write them down. The announcements went fine, but when we got to our first dance we had major problems. He announced us, but then didn't play any music for about 5 minutes. So my husband and I were standing up there with everyone straing at us with no music to dance to. It made us feel quite stupid. he got the music started and we danced to our song. But then it got worse. He announced that my husband and his mom would be dancing next, even though we have told him that I was supposed to dance with my dad first. After some confusion, I walked off the dance floor and let them dance before my dad and I. But then he started playing the father/daughter song instead of the mother/son song. So, my dad and I went back out on the dance floor. Afterwards, my husband had his dance with my mom. The DJ partially redeemed himself after that and played great music and kept everyone on the dance floor (however there was one more misstep at the end where he gave the microphone to the drunkest person there). But, those first few dances are once in a lifetime opportunities that we will never be able to get back.

Vendor response to review

When reading this posting we were astonished to find that some of the comments are not true, such as: All payments have to be dropped off in the office during certain hours. The only time anyone drops off a payment is when they ask to , we ask them to mail their payments. They mention our paperwork states that a meal must be provided for the DJ This is also not true. We merely ask if a meal will be provided. Our performers don't care if they get fed, but would like to know ahead of time if possible.

On our paperwork we ask for the names of everyone in the bridal party and the order they are to be announced. We do go over to the couple on the day of their affair to go over the names because more often than not, the names will change or the placing of an individual will change.

We were told by the DJ that he did have an electrical problem with his system while playing the wedding song so he switched over to his back up system and it took approximately 10 seconds to start the music up. Unfortunately at that point, the order of the songs got mixed up and as soon as he realized it, he made the correction. The DJ did apologize for the problem. Afterwards, the dance floor was packed until the very end of the affair.

In response to the DJ giving the microphone to the drunkest person there, how could our DJ or anyone know if he was the drunkest person there. We were told to take requests from the guests and the DJ was trying to accommodate a guest. Unless we are told not to take requests from a guest we will always do whatever we can to make everyone happy.

After the affair the brides father went to our DJ and told him he did a great job and gave him a tip for a job well done, which was greatly appreciated.

The Monday after their affair the DJ contacted us to tell us what had happened and we immediately contacted the couple and apologized.

My husband and I were a bit nervous about Dynasty because there were not a tremendous amount of reviews online about them. Not only did they exceed our every expectation, but they were the complete hit of the wedding. Within the first 10 minutes of them playing, everyone was on the dance floor. We received so many compliments about them, and would recommend them to anyone interested in a high-energy band. We had the 8-piece orchestra, and they were above and beyond anything we could have expected.

We were really exited to get the Jack Goodman All Stars, because we had been to a wedding that they played brfore hand and were awesome. I also felt comforable because confernce calls to set up play list had exuded profesionalism.
While booking we decided to book someone to play the piano druing the ceremony & cocktail hour in addition to the reception. The pianist at the ceremony was good enough, but by the time I made it to the cocktail hour he had finished playing, and I missed it (by the way-I had gotten there with at least 20 minutes left).
On the day of the wedding, the head member had met with me and went over the pronounciations of names and order of events that would take place throughout the night (including a sibling dance to be done right after dinner). We decicded that the wedding party would be introduced by first name only (the last name were a bit too difficult for him to pronounce). When it came time to introduce us, he mispronounce our last name, which is really not that difficult.
After dinner, the song never played for our sibling dance & my brother had to leave with his new born shortly after. All this stuff really didn't bother me--and trust me nothing bothered me that night, but now thinking about it-I'm upset.
Towards the end of the night, THE WHOLE BAND TOOK A BREAK. This would not had been an issue, but when we signed our contract with the band we were told that we would have "a reception of 4 hours of continuous music." There were so many things happening at this point that I didn't think to say anything-nor should I have had to.
If you hire them I would just be aware that these things happened to us. I do believe that they accomplished our goal of getting everyone on the dance floor, but when you take breaks there's no music to dance to.

Vendor response to review

Here at Dynasty, we make a point of always following up with our clients after their event. We like to offer every opportunity for the client to share their appreciation as well as discuss any details that may have been disappointing. We were shocked to find this review as this couple did not indicate in our follow up that they were the least bit unhappy nor did they contact us to express their dissatisfaction. We would have welcomed such a discussion and, as is our policy, would have made every effort to resolve the issues.

Regarding cocktail hours, it is customary when contracting the same musician that plays in the band, for that musician to stop playing 10-15 minutes prior to the end of the cocktail hour so he can be ready to play with the band at the start of the reception. This service is often included at no charge due to the nature of the task. Such was the case with this client. I advise everyone to take this into consideration when planning and consider using a separate musician for the cocktail hour. This way the music can continue throughout the hour uninterrupted. All our clients are given this information in writing when our final arrangement packets are sent as well as discussed in the booking process.

We are very sorry that names were mispronounced. This is never a deliberate action. Great care and concern is given to recognizing the couple's new title of "Mr. & Mrs.". Occasionally, a band leader can make a mistake. And again, we are very sorry and wished we had the opportunity to express that to this couple. In regard to the aforementioned "sibling dance", again, we are very sorry this request was missed. This band worked on and learned a large number of special requests and in the process of trying to play them all, overlooked this request. A subtle reminder from someone in the party that night would have brought this to the leaders attention and the dance would have been announced. I do advise all our clients to prepare a written time line when there are numerous special requests. This helps the band leader to know exactly when the client wants to do each request and would have prevented this dance from being overlooked.

Very important to note is that "continuous music" does not mean "continuous dancing" for 4 hours. The band or DJ is usually asked to subdue the music when food courses are being served. This means that background music is played while food is served and there is no dancing. The timing of the last break of the evening at a wedding is usually dictated by the venue caterer. When dessert/cake and coffee are served they request that band or DJ play background music. Again, important for couple's to be aware of when planning their affair. This break takes about 10 minutes. When the caterer is finished serving the band kicks the music up for dancing again. This was the case for this couple. A CD was played while the dessert course was served.

I cannot stress how important a written time line can be. I also recommend speaking with your music service after your event. If there are any minor issues that were disappointing, a discussion with a vendor who cares about your feelings and tries to resolve the issues will prevent a sense of disappointment from cropping up months after your event.

It is important to note, that this band had the guests on the floor dancing from beginning to end and the band was given a very generous tip at the end of the night.

We liked Dynasty Entertainment Band from the very first time we met with them. We had been told that they were good, and they more than surpassed our expectations. They provided outstanding music for our wedding! All our guests that we spoke with, raved about the band. The music, singers, etc. were AWESOME. We DID NOT have one complaint or criticism. They played all the music that we suggested. They definitely made our wedding one to always remember. If you're looking for a band, this is most definitely the one to have!!

Excellent service!!! Dynasty Entertainment provided the music for my cocktail hour and my reception. At first I was hesitant because I didn't meet the DJ until the day of my wedding itself, however, there is so much thorough planning in behalf of this company that on the day of my wedding day it felt as if the DJ was a friend who knew us for a long time because everyones name was pronounced correctly, overall it was a smooth transition from one part of the reception to the other! Excellent service you won't be disappointed.

My husband and I couldn't be happier with Dynasty Entertainment. We had the 9 piece band play at our wedding on June 6, 2009 and they were outrageous! The dance floor was packed all night long. A few guests actually told us that they have never danced so much at a wedding. I couldn't believe how well the band played so many different varieties of music. They went from Bon Jovi and Guns n Roses to Sinatra and Jazz. It was a really nice mix and every age group enjoyed the music. If you are looking for a classy, professional band, I would highly recommend Dynasty Entertainment. They are also extremely accomodating. My husband's Uncle plays the guitar in a band in Florida. Dynasty let him get up there and play a few songs with them which was so much fun and a huge hit with our guests. I hope that we get invited to a wedding where the Dynasty band will be playing!!

We found the band who played at our wedding to be completely unprofessional. We felt like we were misled when we initially met with the owner of the company. The band was supposed to play more up to date music, considering it was a young couples wedding, but they played more of an "old school" variety. They forgot to play the Hora, which we specifically requested, and we had to remind them when the Matre D' was bringing out with cake at the end of the evening. They also introduced the bride to dance with her father, which was completely incorrect due to the fact that the bride was dancing with her brother bc of her father is deceased. We had to correct them in front of our whole wedding, which was very upsetting and embarrasing. We were not happy with the band at all and if had to do it again would hire a DJ. At least you know what you are getting with a DJ and its cheaper.

Vendor response to review

Dynasty Entertainment has performed professionally in the tri-state area for over 25 years. We have performed for thousands of very happy couples. Most of our business is from referrals which we are proud of. The band the couple used has received hundreds of letters of praise from couple's that were extremely happy. In addition, the band has been referred by their venue for the last 15 years.

The couple chose the band from the different bands that were available for their date. They saw the band perform a wide variety of music styles including contemporary. We always encourage our clients to let us know any specific songs they want played or they don't want played. The band did play what the client requested. The couple requested the Hora be played "later in the evening" and when the band was ready to play the Hora, the caterer chose to bring the cake out. The band will always defer to the caterer, as the caterer is really the one dictating the course of events. With a brief word from the bride, the cake was removed and the Hora was played. We have performed for thousands of Jewish wedding and we suggest the best time for the Hora to be played is after the first dance, but they decided against it.

There was an error made with one of the announcements, regrettably. This is not something that is typically done. We did apologize that night and by phone in writing.

According the Band Leader the dance floor was packed the entire night.

Dynasty DJ & MC were fantastic.They played all my favorite NEW songs and the dance floor was packed. They also played a great medley of Jewish dance music (horas ) and pleased my parents & friends.
My only regret was that the day ended too soon !

Loved, Loved, Loved our band. We went with an 11 piece band and they were absolutely amazing and people still talk about how good they were. The singers are awesome and they played all the right music to keep everyone dancing all night. Highly recommend them.

It was easy to work with this company - they are very large and have many DJs and can accommodate even our unique situation - which was having our dance floor in the foyer of an old mansion. We provided a very detailed list of songs we wanted to hear and they really stuck to the list - for the most part. (When we arrived at the location and were outside taking photos I could hear the song from Aladdin strumming out from the inside. Definitely not on our playlist! but that was the only instance!)

I thought it was a little pricey - about $1800 for the 5 hours. Maybe I'm naive with pricing. At the time, we had some time constraints and I really wanted a company that I could trust and I could tell just from meeting the owner that they would deliver!

We hired Jack Goodman for both the ceremony and reception, it was a total of 4 musicians and 4 singers (since we needed bilingual singers). Jack has been in this business for a very long time and is incredibly professional in how he runs it. The band was great and we were very pleased with the singers. The only issue we had is that the band arrived later than we expected to set up and the ceremony musician did not arrive until much later (car issues) but no one has called us. Jack refunded us the money without any questions. My only recommendation is to get a contact person for the day of the wedding - ours was on sunday and the office was closed so it took a while to get someone to call us back. The price was fantastic!

We were very disappointed with the service provided. It all started when one and a half days before the wedding I got a call from the company telling me that the DJ could not play one of the Cd's we provided. We were told by them to try to recopy all the songs in as many different formats as possible! It was not possible for us to do all of that with in one day when we had relatives visiting and many other wedding details to finalize. We mailed them the CD one MONTH before the wedding. I was told they don't have control of when their DJ tests it out!
As a result, many of our must play songs were not played at the reception. Then the Dj,Tiffany told us that the MC - Nahun, was setting up to start singing. I told her we did not ask him to sing. She asked us if we could let him sing at least one song so he wouldn't be offended! This is our wedding, why should we be concerned about his feelings?? He then proceeded to sing at least three songs.
In our paperwork we noted that we wanted him to walk around the dance floor and encourage people to dance and he did not do that. He stayed behind the table the whole time, in fact he never even said one word to my husband and I. He was also suppose to repeat every thing in English and Russian which he did not do the entire time, only some of the time. My mother told me she went to request a song and was told by Tiffany that that song was not on our list. My mother told her she is the bride's mother and then Tiffany agreed to play it. We wrote on our paperwork that songs could be requested by all guests. They did the basics of the job and that was it. I was most disappointed that they did not play they type of music we wanted and most of the songs on our list were not played. They charged a lot of money for a crappy job. When we complained all we got was a form type letter saying they were sorry we were disappointed.

In response to this review, we at Dynasty Entertainment would like to say how very sorry we are that this client was disappointed with our service. We have been providing music for special events since 1981 and are very proud of our excellent reputation in the industry. With that said, when a client expresses dissatisfaction, we take it very seriously. We sent an immediate letter of apology, not a form letter.
In today's technologically advanced society, many couples are "burning" their own CD's for their weddings. The new technology is not an exact science. Our DJ's equipment is highly sensitive and some "CD burning" programs are not able to burn in formats designed to fit all equipment. The DJ for this event has over 15 years experience and tried to play all of the requests, however, when a client chooses to burn their own CD's they run the risk o f not having those songs played at the event if the CD does not play for some reason. We advise using the highest possible burn speed when burning CD's, as well as universal programs such as Itunes. We also highly recommend having a list of back up songs the DJ has in his or her collection, to be played just in case.
The CD's in this case, were tested and played on our office equipment upon receipt. Unfortunately, the format was not compatible with the DJ's equipment. We called the bride and groom as soon as we were alerted to the problem to ask them to re-burn the CD's in a different format. We have since changed our policy regarding burned CD's, as we are always working to improve our service and the quality of performance that is presented to the client.
The confusion with our Russian performer at this event was just that, - a bit of confusion. This performer is a DJ/MC and one man band. He thought he would be adding to the event by setting up his keyboard and performing a few Russian songs live. He is an excellent entertainer and has been performing for years. Many of our vocalists perform live when working with a DJ. It enhances the event and creates excitement to have some live entertainment sprinkled in during the event. We apologize for the misunderstanding. Although according to the DJ, many of the Russian guests at the party enjoyed the entertainment and people were dancing.
The overall event was a success. The introductions, First Dance and Parent Dances and all announcements were done as requested. The party was directed by the DJ properly and professionally. When people came up and requested songs, the DJ said she would play them after she completed the brides playlist. The DJ was very focused on the couples list because of the problem with a few of the burned CD's.
Overall, we cannot stress how very sorry we are that this couple had any disappointment at all. We appreciate their feedback as it only helps us to improve our services.

These guys were wonderful!!! We had a Harpist for our wedding ceremony that we also used for the cocktail hour (and a half) plus we also had an MC and a DJ - free party toys all for $1450 - they were fabu!!!! i would totally get them again!!! They are so kind and willing to help out the newlyweds!!!

The DJ from Dynasty did a fantastic job at my reception. They were also able to accommodate us when the reception had to be rescheduled due to a snow storm on our wedding day.

I highly recommend Dynasty Orchestra. They played at our 10/28/2000 wedding receptionist and were out of this world! Lance got the crowd involved and I was getting compliments on them months after our wedding.
