Eagle Eye Photography LLC were absolutely amazing. Their attention to detail and their love for their career were what impressed me the most. They jumped right in our family and it just felt like they were one of us. They have such a creative eye that the pictures just kept coming. Every shot was diffferent and they captured every moment in just the right way. I would absolutely reccomend Katie and Rutsen to any one of my friends and already have done so! I could not have dreamt up a more perfect pair to be their on that day!

Katie and Rutsen went beyond our expectations! They made our day even more special even before the big day came around! As the future bride of a groom who almost never got caught smiling in pictures I was concerned about getting good pictures on our wedding day- before the wedding even came we did some engagement shots and wouldn't you know that Katie and Rutsen got him to smile within the first few pictures! They are more than incredibly talented photographers, they are amazing people. I consider myself so lucky to have found them and highly recommend them to anyone!

Katie & Rutsen made our rainy, special day- a sunny one. Even though it was pouring down rain, our pictures couldn't have been better. I loved their abstract pictures, especially of the still life's-like my shoes, our cake & wedding rings. I also enjoyed how Katie & Rutsen each became our shadow as we were preparing for our wedding. Some of those moments are the most precious ones. Lastly, since it did pour on our wedding day, Katie & Rutsen met back up with us after our honeymoon at our wedding site for those portraits & blue skies we missed that day. Their expertise & great eye made our wedding album non ending. We loved them all! Thanks again for all you did & we would definitely recommend you 2 to all our friends & family.

We loved Katie and Rutsen. They were a joy to work with and very pleasant to have around on your wedding day. They were extremely flexible when my wedding plans changed almost completely overnight and came to the rescue in a big way. It was also a huge benefit to have two photographers at the same time with the ability to capture the groom and the bride at seperate times in seperate places.

Our pictures are incredible and much different than your typical wedding portraits. If you are after the basic boring, staged shot, they may not be the best fit. If you want pictures that are more like artwork than what your average snap and shoot can take, you will not be disappointed. We had been dating for 10 years so we had plenty of smiling poised pictures. If you want something of more a conversation piece, go with Eagle Eye.

(You also get all your own digital pics on CDs so you do not need to worry about all your family members getting printed photos, just copy them the pics and tell them to do it)

Katie and Rutsen were the photographers for my sister's wedding back in October 2007. So, when I got engaged the following February, I knew that I wanted them to photograph my wedding. They are so good! They take amazing pictures, very creative and not your standard pose and portrait pictures. Plus, they are so flexible, personable and fun! They made all of us so comfortable (my bridal party loved them!) and were fun to have at the wedding. They took us to some great places at our reception site to get some very cool shots. I don't think most photographers would track through the mud down to a bridge to get that perfect shot! They also took my husband across this field, down to the barn, and got him up on a horse (in his tuxedo) for some more great shots. I love all the pictures from our wedding and loved having Katie and Rutsen as our photographers. I had several guests after the wedding ask me who our photographer was because they were so impressed!

There are just not enought words to descibe how happy we were with Katie and Rusten. We first met them at a friends wedding and loved their personalities. After seeing her pictures I knew there was no one else I wanted to do our wedding pictures. They put their spin on the normal boring pictures. I was very pleaased with our wedding pictures. they are 1000 times better that I had thought they would be. I would reccomend them to anyone and my brother is getting married in March and using them too.

"We made the perfect choice having Eagle Eye Photography photograph our wedding. No Bride wants to worry about the wedding pictures, if all the important events at the ceremony and reception will be covered, if the pictures will turn out, if delivery of the pictures will be timely and so on. Rutsen and Katie were professional and very thorough from the moment we first sat down with them to discuss what we wanted in a photographer and what events were important for us to photograph all the way to the finished product. Eagle Eye Photography was the perfect fit for our wedding and gave us everything we wanted and more."

"It was such a pleasure to work with you all because you were the one thing that didn't stress me out w/ the wedding plans. You were so easy to work with and seemed to "read my mind" with knowing what I was wanting out of my bridal portrait. It was a great value for the wonderful photographs that were taken. Everyone, including myself, was very impressed w/ the finished product. People are still talking about how great my portrait turned out. Thanks again!"

"We have never seen photographers with more passion and energy than y'all! At both our engagement party and rehearsal dinner y'all were so fun and easy to work with, and the pictures are just wonderful. Y'all really know how to capture the moment - both in posed and candid shots. Thank you for your enthusiasm, hard work and dedication. You have given us pictures we will enjoy for a lifetime!"

"Contracting Eagle Eye photography has been the best decision we've made thus far for our upcoming wedding. Katie and Rutsen have proven to be as generous and friendly as they are talented. We have an overwhelming number of amazing images to choose from for our engagement photo. Every encounter we've had with Katie and Rutsen has been an absolute delight, the hardest part is waiting till our wedding day to see them again."

"I did take some time this weekend to check out your website and the pictures you were talking about last week and they really are incredible. The new editing style displayed in the train station photos and the cadillac photos is really cool. I haven't seen anything like it before. The cadillac pictures feel like they could have been pulled from an 80's music video (that's not a bad thing in my opinon). Very cool stuff. It's a style that further categorizes your work as artists rather then just photographers.

I must admit that my favorite work are the images capturing a frozen moment. Those subtle moments that the human eye overlooks but somehow the Eagle Eye lens manages to capture and expose a truth that would otherwise remain unseen. In these images the hand of the artist is invisible leaving only the humanity of the moment.

Any way just thought I'd throw some feedback your way since you asked.

Keep in touch,

Brian"

"Running into Katie and Rutsen at a "meet the DJ night" was just our luck. I could sense right away that they were sincere, creative and hard working people. Being around Katie and Rutsen is like a breath of fresh air. They are energetic and work so well together. We had an outstanding time during our engagement photos. We felt like superstars and the pictures came out immaculate! It has been a pleasure working with Eagle Eye. Looking forward to our big day and feeling confident in knowing our memories will be captured perfectly!"

"We will forever have beautiful memories of their wedding and your part in creating those memories will always be a part of our lives. Her portrait is incredibly beautiful and the pictures of the rehearsal, hair salon, dressing, ceremony, and reception are so much fun to look at - I don't know how you got some of those shots, but it just shows how creative and skilled you are - I especially want to thank you for how special you made Elizabeth feel during the process."

Client testimonial from Lee Dickinson and Molly Tinius

"Katie and Rutsen are the kind of people you want to invite to your wedding whether they're taking pictures or not. They're friendly and easy to work with and go the extra mile (or three). Add to that the fact that they produce the most beautiful photographs, and you're left with the fact that Eagle Eye Photography is the best in the business, bar none."

Client testimonial from Dawn Young, Director of Sales Promotions, NBC12

"It has been an absolute pleasure working with Rutsen and Katie. I cannot say enough about the care, the attention to detail and the passion that they both put into their work. Rutsen and Katie are exceptional at what they do. They do more than take pictures - they capture experiences. Their pictures are truly works of art. NBC12 is proud to call Eagle Eye Photography the Official Photographer of the NBC12 Dream Wedding. This is a partnership that we hope continues for many years to come."

Rutsen Eagle is a Richmond native and graduated from The Collegiate School, where he began a study in film photography. He was recognized by the Quill and Scroll for producing unique photographs in the school's monthly periodical, The Match. Rutsen graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelors of Fine Art, specializing in Photography. VCU is proud to announce that it was recently ranked the 4th best Art School in the nation.

Rutsen was recently recognized by The Pilsner Urquell International Photography Awards Competition for his work titled "The Office" and has been recognized for several years by the International Society of Photographers.

"Tom Hiltabrant taught me how to shoot and David Stott demonstrated to me the effectiveness of Photography in print form. It was a wild night at The Landmark Theater where I had the opportunity to photograph Widespread Panic. Dave Schools, the bassist for the band, was a Collegiate Alum and provided me with some great advice during a backstage photo shoot. He said, 'once you find inspiration, embrace it and know that you can always get better at what you do'."

Rutsen completed his general studies at James Madison University before making the decision to pursue photography as a Major. Learning more than just photography, Rutsen learned the value of being loved. He met Katie in the Studio and together they created Eagle Eye Photography, a business dedicated to providing clients with a unique and refreshing experience. Katie was a California resident, inspired by the Ocean and the passage of time. She captured the essence of California and the ocean using her camera.

Moving to the East coast to begin a new life in Richmond, Katie was called to take photography classes at VCU. Together, Rutsen and Katie were able to learn much from one another. With new skills and a positive attitude towards photography, Rutsen was eligible to serve as the first photo-intern for The Richmond Magazine. Immediately he began to develop and refine his skills. Under the aid of the Writers, Editors, and Art Directors he quickly developed an understanding of how photography would apply to the real world. An experience that would encourage him to become a local freelance photographer and small business owner.

Rutsen and Katie were married in July 2007 at the historic Virginia House in Windsor Farms.
