Eight20 Photography

My fiance and I just took our engagement pictures with Nicky and Eric and we had so much fun. We are excited that we have selected them to shoot our wedding this October. The reviews of the brides posted here are right on....they are hip, fun, and know exactly what the client wants. They are very professional, and what I loved best about them is not only their personalities but they were willing to hear our ideas and thoughts. We're looking forward to seeing our prints and for them to shoot our wedding! HIGHLY RECOMMEND booking them ;)

We couldnt have picked a better team than Nicky and Eric to do our wedding. They are such good-hearted people with a real passion to try new things and have fun. Not to mention that they are probably the most photographers I have ever seen, especially for wedding pictures. We have a pretty modern place and we put up pictures that they have taken as art on our walls and have received numerous compliments. They are very daring with trying new locations. One of the places we went was the train tracks in downtown LA. I believe this is the first time these tracks have been used in a photo shoot, especially engagement photos. They are my favorite. Also, they did one of us in front of a moving train at the Union Station in LA - a true piece of art! The slideshows they create are phenomenal and incorporating our personal style. I am so thankful to have such beautiful pictures that I will treasure forever. Thanks Eric and Nicky!

I really loved having Eight20 as my wedding photographers. I was very picky about choosing a photographer, and I really believe I made a good decision. They are both so sweet and really care about you and your wedding.

They were definitely worth the money we spent!

I went to Nicky for a boudoir session and she was FABULOUS! She was SO helpful from the very beginning - quick to respond to emails, detailed with information and just SO nice! I was a little bit nervous at first, given the nature of a boudoir session, but Nicky made me feel so comfortable and I cannot even tell you how excited I was when I saw the images - they are INCREDIBLE! She has such an eye! I am giving them to my hubby for our anniversary and I can't wait!! I will definitely be using Eight20 for future photography needs!

Nicky and Eric were great at our wedding. Although it rained at our wedding, they used the dry spots the best the could, and made sure to take advantage of the dry periods. They made sure to get all of the the "must have" shots I listed (wish I put more thought into it!)

Sometimes, as a DJ/Wedding Planner, when I work with a photographer, I have a hard time remembering who they are and what wedding I worked with them on...not eight20! When they shot Adam & Erin's wedding in L.A., they were so attentive and highly interested in all the special unique events we had planned for that night...from the wedding party roast to the USC marching band playing in the bride and groom; they were right there, capturing every moment! But most of all, I could tell they truly cared about--and understood the importance of--what they were doing as wedding photographers. And doing all of this with such joy, they were SO MUCH FUN! I highly recommend them!

We loved our photos from eight20. They are accommodating and easy going. So easy to work with. They captured many great photos of our wedding. Their images evoke emotion, and aren't boring/staged. I love them, and so glad we had them there to document our big day. I highly, highly recommend them.

We found Eric & Nicky of Eight20 Photography by chance in craigslist and after meeting with them one time we new we had found the right people for our June/07 wedding and stopped looking.

They were great with fallow up, worked with us on a budget, and the final product was top notch. We recommend them highly.

Kenny and I were recommended "eight 20" when we were looking for a photographer for our wedding. We loved their website, and their photo-journalistic style. Their pictures were so clear and stylish. It was a pleasant surprise to find out that they were a husband and wife team. We were so happy to discover that they were also willing to work with us on the budget (which is so valuable when planning a wedding)! We had a lovely engagement session at the Disney Concert Hall two months before the wedding. When the proofs came (very quickly) online, we were so delighted. We looooved that they are so web savvy. We had a gallery and slideshow in no time. We could easily pass it along to friends and family. It was great to have peace of mind on the wedding day which went so well. I look forward to using them in the future. If anyone's is looking for a photographer, then these two are great to capture your special moments.

We could not have picked a better photographer! Eight20 was soo great to us! They have the best communication out of all of our vendors, they are so prompt and efficient. We shot our engagement shoot with them as well as our wedding. They were so great with us and immediately made us feel comfortable. They were open to our ideas and gave us great ideas as well. We immediately felt comfortable to let them do their thing. We could not be any happier with our wedding photos! They were able to capture every single heartfelt moment of the night. They are so great and I could not recommend them more to any bride! You don't have to think twice, they will come through with the most amazing photos you can imagine. My wedding was on Memorial Day weekend. It was a very popular wedding weekend so we were very lucky to get Eric and Nicky as our photographers. They put together a great package for us and were so nice and accommodating in our discussions before the wedding as well as during the long day of the wedding. We gave them a list of pictures that we wanted and made a few requests the day of and that’s basically all they needed. They captured many fun and creative shots as well as plenty of classic ones. Nicky and Eric were taking pictures at the reception until around 9pm and yet they still had the first set of proofs up for us to view online the next morning! The pictures for my wedding are amazing! I know sometimes I can be difficult to take pictures of and I was hoping there would get a few good ones, but when I saw them I was very excited to see how MANY GORGEOUS pictures I could chose from! My experience at the wedding with Eight20 Photography was wonderful. Eight20 photography was the first wedding decision I made and the easiest one! They were always very kind and helpful. Living in a different state and time zone then the location I got married in, they were very accommodating. Nicky (the photographer) went above and beyond her pictures duties and fixed the broken flower in my hair! My wedding album is perfect and gorgeous. They were such a pleasure to work with! I could not have asked for a better experience with a photographer! I have and will continue to recommend them!

I absolutely love their pictures!!! They did my wedding on 3.3.07 and My pictures are beautiful... they dont look possed, they look very natural... they printed 100 pictures in a album, did a coffee table book that everyone loves... its different and adds a personal touch.... and on on top of that they also included all the negatives.... 1500 pictures... I'm absolutely in love with their work... I highly recommend them for weddings.... Since theyre a husband and wife team they know exactly what you want out of your pics.... they're easy to work with and have very good ideas... some of my pictures are on their website. A good friend of mine recommended Eight 20 for my wedding. We're glad we hired eight20 as our photogpraher They are professionalism, service, and his great sense of humor with our guests. They nteracted very well with our family and guests. He made them feel comfortable and got them involved but didn't over do it. Many of our guests provided compliments for Eight20Eight 20 and his crew were very flexible in working with us during the day of our wedding. They really took care of "business." The DVD's that he were exceptional. He really captured all the precious moments of our wedding. We also hired Sam as our photographer who works at the same company with Taky. We were also very pleased with Sam as he interacted well with the guests, was very professional, and worked well with his whole crew. I highly recommend Taky and Sam of LA Color because they really make your wedding that much better.

Nicky and Eric are the type of photographers you will want to work with on the biggest event of your life. My husband and I first met them on the docks of Marina Del Rey to take engagement pictures. We had so much fun taking pictures with them. They are creative and their style is photojournalistic. When we got back our engagement pictures we knew we were going to love our wedding pictures because they were fabulous. Working with Nicky and Eric was easy. They are always on top of e-mails and phone calls and Nicky spent many e-mails and phone calls with me before the big day. On the big day they arrived and just started shooting. They got every shot we could have wanted in unique and fun ways. They truly captured the love of the day. They have great angles and are not afraid to take risks with the camera. You will come away with a wedding album that looks like a vogue covershoot.

We have several blow ups of our wedding pictures around our house... they look like magazine ads! I couldn't believe how breath taking some of these photos turned out, and I'm not that good looking either LOL! :)

We LOVE Eight20 and you will too! Eric and Nicky were amazing; from scheduling to finished product, they were complete professionals and blew us away with their gorgeous photos and talent. We didn't know what to expect since our ceremony went past the scheduled time and the sun was setting FAST, so they only had a few moments to take pictures, but they obviously knew what they were doing because they worked us, and we were surprised to see how absolutely amazing the pictures turned out. It was the best day ever, and now we have stunning artistic frame-able pictures to remind us of it every day.

This husband and wife duo are great! They helped me work within my budget and addressed all the key shots that I was hoping to get. They made my planning and special day so much easier and the product was just excellent. Before the wedding I always got a quick response whenever I emailed them, and even now, after the wedding, I still get a quick response. "Look no further if you want the best" describes Nicky and Eric of Eight20 photography. This husband and wife team possess the unique ability to capture the personality of the couple. Nicky and Eric were recommended to us by our close friends. After taking a look at Eight20's online gallery, my mind was made up. I could see the passion they posses through their portfolio and knew they could create the fun, creative and stylish photos we wanted....and boy were we right! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our engagement session. We shot down at the Pike in Long Beach and had a blast on our beach cruisers. We even brought along the guitar to play with. Nicky and Eric did a great job capturing us as a couple. Eveyone oohed and aahed at our creative wedding sign in book they made with the photos. As a wedding surprise, I hired Nicky to make a boudoir book for my husband. We had a blast shooting with his guitars (he is a musician). The pictures turned out amazing and it was fun to see his jaw drop ;) On our wedding day, Eric and Nicky were everything we could have asked for. I can't wait to see my wedding album.

We love them. From the engagement session to the wedding day photography, they've been great. We really had a great time with them and were both at ease around them. We were initially worried about being in front of cameras as the main focus but they really made us feel comfortable and the pictures prove it. During our engagement session, we really wanted our dog, Nikki, to be a part of it and they were more than happy to comply. As a result, we got one of the best shots in the first few minutes, which can now be seen in their website. We highly recommend them!

Nicky & Eric from Eight20 Photography were probably my favorite vendors from the wedding. I had read some reviews about them online, and set up an appt to meet them myself. I was more than happy with their presentation, and their packages include everything you could need for your wedding. They have a unique photojournalistic style thats really fun and new. The whole year of communication with them was great, they responded quickly and thoroughly to my many questions via email. Paying them was also super-easy, and can be done online through their website. One of my favorite things about them was their accesibility, and willingness to help. I never felt like "another customer" to them, which is really helpful in the wedding planning stages. I used them for both my Engagement photos and Wedding Day. Both days they were upbeat and full of ideas, but also willing to hear my wants and ideas. I would definitely reccommend them.

Eight20 Photography was JUST what the wedding doctor ordered for our special day! After a series of experiences with bad photographers who didn't return phone calls or who didn't seem to click with us or who worked alone and didn't allow 2nd shooters, we were almost ready to give up! Is THAT what we'd have to go through in order to find a photographer who wasn't going to charge an arm and a leg?? Thank goodness we didn't give up! We found Eight20, a fresh, hip husband and wife team who KNOW exactly what current brides and grooms want on their wedding day and during the whole planning process. Eric and Nicky were light-speed quick about returning phone calls and emails. All of my crazy and particular questions were answered -- and with patience! They work together so you automatically have 2 shooters, so it's like a 2-fer! And we totally clicked with them and wished they could double as guests at our wedding too! Not to mention, our wedding budget didn't implode, as they do high quality work at honest and fair prices.We thoroughly enjoyed our engagement session with them and were so delighted to see the finished shots that became part of our wedding printed paper goods and decor in our home. After that, we were really sure we picked the right guys for our wedding.Currently, we are going through our wedding pics and we're melting at every single shot. From getting ready to The Kiss to bouquet tosses, Eight20 got every single important and special moment and picking out all of our photos for our album is going to be difficult. That's a good problem to have!! They use top of the line equipment and know how to work their products - both the day-of and in post-production. The way they shoot colors, details, emotions, groups and intimate moments is pure art.On the wedding day, they arrived on time and were dressed appropriately. They worked extremely well with our venue and other vendors to coordinate everything with our best interest in mind.Some brides and grooms don't want to feel like they're being chased by paparazzi on their wedding day. Eric and Nicky were stealth! They got photos when I didn't even KNOW the camera was snapping away! Some of those shots are my favorite ones.My husband and I adore Eric and Nicky and wish them lots of success. In reading the other reviews, I have to agree with everyone. Nicky was amazing!!!! She was incredibly professional yet fun. She made so easy when taking our engagement pictures. My husband is so afraid of the camera, but Nicky totally made it happen. Many guest complemented my photographer...they thought they were fun, happy, nice and professional. My husband and I love Nicky, and would recommend her services to all of our friends and family.

The only reason I gave a 4.5 out of 5 on some is because I wanted to show that their value of cost, responsiveness and quality of service was EXCEPTIONAL!! I interviewed and met with about 15 photographers. I did ALL the research. I was on a budget for my photography and the $3900 included a TON of stuff. Just look at their blog and website! They are very contemporary so if you like more traditional photos they probably aren't for you. I just LOVED them!

Great for the value. Although we didn't get the variety we expected considering they spent the entire day with us. Didn't get enough quality, bride-groom shots, not enough artistic shots we could frame. Email responsiveness excellent. They're easy to work with.

Nikki was great! She was prompt, professional and kind. You can tell she really loves what she does and is excited to capture your special day. She showed up early enough to scout the location. She also helped keep the wedding on schedule so that she didn't miss any of the big moments in the night. Most importantly, my photos were beautiful and her website is incredibly clean and professional. I was able to share them with all my friends and family, allow them to buy them directly if they wanted, and able to make photo albums for my family. There are photographers out there who are far far more expensive, but you wont find many who have a good portfolio and are cheaper. She's very fairly priced and I couldn't be happier with her!

Nicky and Eric were great at our wedding. They showed up a bit late due to the traffic, but immediately started working their magic. We love them for their superb customer service before, during, and after the wedding. Nicky responds to most email within seconds. We received our teaser pictures via their blog about two weeks and all of our proofs via their website exactly one month after the wedding. After we received the proofs we started working with Nicky to create our album. She was very receptive to our changes and ideas; after a few revisions, we were able to create the perfect album.
We didn't give them 5 stars for a few reasons: late arrival, very few boys getting ready pictures, not really 2 primary photographers, and bad first look pictures.
Overall they are great and we highly recommend them. We're very happy that we were able to book them and would still choose them if we were planning our wedding today.

Nicky and Eric offer photography services for just about everything, but they specialize in wedding and engagement photos. Personally, I cannot stand staged wedding photos where the bride and groom pose in front of a fountain with plastered on fake smiles, surrounded by bridesmaids and groomsmen with similarly fake smiles. I was one of those bridesmaids on more than one occasion, and there's nothing more unromantic than a photographer telling you to lower your arm (but not THAT low!) and turn your head to the left (but not THAT much!) while you're shivering in the wind.

These two specialize in photojournalism-style photography, which means that they take photos as the moment happens, which, in turn, means that you get to relive the moments as they happen. They take hundreds of photos at the event, then go over them later and cherry-pick the ones that do the best at showcasing the subjects. Your photos will look like they were ripped from the pages of Vogue, I kid you not.

I have yet to book Eight 20 Photography myself, but I've been to weddings that they have shot and have always been highly impressed with their professionalism and talent! They are extremely creative and come up with unique shots that match the personalities of the people they are shooting, but never miss getting the traditional shots everyone wants from their wedding day. They also do great events other than weddings. I have been following their work for almost a year and their photos just keep getting better and better. I have recommended them to friends and plan on using them when I get married myself!
