Electra Cruises

Even with the price change that did happen, their prices are so reasonable!!!! The food was literally the best wedding food I have ever had. We had Prime rib that was $27 per person. Everywhere else, it's closer to 50. The 360 view also makes for great photos. I HIGHLY recommend Electra cruises.

Thank you , thank you, thank you !! we are so happy we chose the Electra to get married on because you guys are a #1 class act!! We are already planning an anniversary aboard her, too. Thank you for all the time, attention to detail, and patience. Our wedding day was flawless and so beautiful thanks to all of you! Sharon should get a raise cuz she is a dynamo!! We loved her! We really will never be able to thank you enough so we will just have to refer people to you any chance we get.

Had an amazing time. This boat was phenomenal! They had everything taken care of all in the same place. The food was excellent better than any other wedding Ive been too. Comes with a wedding planner for that day and she was so great. What a beautiful way to go.

I could not have found a better place for my wedding. If you are working with a smaller budget or even if you are splurging, Electra Cruises is perfect. You take a 4 hour cruise around the Newport harbor which is beautiful and the best background for a ceremony and reception. They include the cake, flowers, food, etc. in their pricing. They make it really easy on the bride. They give you a list of recommended vendors and you go through them. All the vendors I used were fantastic and were there to do what my husband and I wanted for our wedding. I would recommend Electra Cruises to anyone.

We got married on Athena with Electra Cruises. Everyone at Electra was so nice to work with and made our wedding day so easy. I would highly recommend getting married on one of their yachts. The wedding coordinator was AWESOME!!! She made the whole evening go perfectly smooth!!!

Eleectra Cruises deserve more than 5 Stars. Our wedding coordinator was Heather and the coordinator on our wedding day was Karen. Both of them were nice and quickly responded to my questions and concerns, without giving me an attitude. They were professional and competent. Everything that we were promised became reality. We got married at the Yacht Athena, our guests loved the view and the food. We had New Wave Chicken, Salmon and Scalloped Potatoes. The garden salad was great. Overall, we received a lot of compliments!

We worked with Lorraine and she was awesome, we had our reception on The Athena and all of our guests enjoyed it. We would use Electra cruises again.

We were married aboard the Electra Yacht on April 3rd, 2012, and it was absolutely perfect. My husband and I were engaged for 13 months, changed the wedding date once with Electra, and we were also planning our wedding out of state. Everyone at Electra was very friendly, and super courteous. I couldn't recommend them more, they worked with us very well and communicated very fast. The food was absolutely delicious, and we used their DJ Von, who was great! Did I mention how good their food was? My sister was also married through Electra Cruises 3 years ago, and the food was delicious then as well.

The yatchs are beautiful. We didn't get the original yatch we requested thanks to the coast guard but Electra Cruises was able to put us on another yatch just as beautiful and accommodate for the issue. One of the best days of my life will never be forgotten. All of our guest loved the wedding and said it was something new that they can tell their kids and family down the road. I will do it again for an anniversary.

So I had my wedding yesterday and I am still on this high that I cant come off of.I have been dealing with this company for about a year I gave them 5 stars because I was happy by the way that things turned out. Here is how everything went:

I used my mostly own vendors for things because I felt more comfortable. Cinderella cakes were awesome from beginning to end and they were the first ones to arrive. I am not really a cake person, but overall people were telling me the cake was really good.

The food was very good from the little that I ate. The coconut prawns hands down were the winner and the egg rolls were great as well. We had a buffet of fried chicken that were seasoned very well and beef tri-tip with jack daniels bbq sauce. I LOVED the garlic mash and I think I was not the only one. It was a ton a food. Oh and Jason the manager threw in chocolate covered strawberries for free and people really enjoyed that too.

People must of thought I spent a fortune on this wedding. I heard words like, classy, elegant and fun from some of my guest. The weather and the views were spectacular, I took some time by myself to go to the top of the boat to take all of the view in. I can say, I will NEVER forget how beautiful the bay was. I heard sea otters, but I could not find where they were.

Lastly, my wedding coordinator was really great, Donna, did her best to work with me, she even stopped by on the yacht to see me off. The staff was friendly and my day of coordinator was on point, Maribel or Marissa, I cant remember. She packed everything up for us so we would be ready to get off when it was time.

Do be ware that it is mandatory to pay $7/per person for free flowing soda, juices and ice tea, which is somewhat of a waste, because a majority of my guess drank water, also you have to get 2 bartenders at $150 each.

I would totally work with this company again!!!!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception on the Athena with Electra Cruises. We have the most helpful staff not only planning the event, during the food tasting, and of course on the day of wedding! All our guest were very pleased with the time on the boat and the food! Everything was perfect and I couldnt asked for anything better!

There's really nothing more I could say than our wedding was perfect, thanks to Lorraine and all the electra cruises staff!!!!!! We lived cross-country, and all their recommended vendors, and "tasting night", made it so easy to plan an event from 3,000 miles away. Any question I had was answered within minutes, with Lorraine being the best coordinator EVER! She made our wedding flawless! On the day of, we were provided with a separate wedding coordinator, Karen, who was also amazing! Her calmness and attention to details made our whole night flawless. Our wedding was aboard the Eternity, and it is definitely worth the extra pennies to upgrade from one of the smaller yachts. Our guests were wowed, and the whole night was perfect thanks to Electra Cruises! Just don't be afraid to use some of your own vendors, too, as some of theirs seem outdated.

Electra Cruises is definitely an awesome venue! It saves so much time and it's definitely budget-friendly. If you love having happy & helpful people to assist in your wedding planning, Electra Cruises will surely be the right choice. My consultant, Allison was absolutely AMAZING!! I love having a quick response via email and she's the quickest! The food provided on the yacht was simply divine! They are there to help you make your wedding planning as unstressful as possible and they have done so for me.

I am so happy that I booked Electra Cruises for my ceremony and reception venue! They were all very helpful and were accomodating to my every need! The entire wedding experience was delievered through this company! They were able to bring my dream wedding to life! I appreciate all the staff members that helped making my day memorable! What I also enjoyed about Electra Cruises is they provided everything (food, flowers, cake, photographer etc). Which made everything stress free! Not to mention, the food was AMAZING!!! All of my guests told me that this was the best food they had ever had at a wedding!

Electra Cruises was absolutely amazing! I worked with Allison my coordinator and she was so helpful and amazing I couldnt have asked for more. If I had a question about anything she would respond in less then an hour. My wedding day coordinator was also amazing. I didn't have to worry about anything. If anything went wrong that day I didn't even know about it. I highly recommend Elecra Cruises they helped me have my fairy tale wedding.

I have my wonderful wedding at the Electra yacht, it was georgeous! The professionalism of the crew was outstanding, I did everything thru Electra cruises, even selecting the food, since I'm not in California, and all their suggestions were absolutely the best. I will recommend it 200%

Electra Cruises was such an amazing venue for my wedding! Not only was it such a unique venue but the service was phenominal! From the very beginning the staff at Electra Cruises was super friendly and had exceptional customer service. They truly made me feel like I wouldn't have to worry about anything on the day of my wedding...and I didn't.

All the staff in the office was friendly and the staff aboard our yacht was superb and attentive, including Maribel, our wedding day coordinator. She took care of everything and made sure the whole day went smoothly. The food was amazing and we received many compliments on it.

The fact that Electra Cruises provided a choice of vendors made things so much easier and more convenient. All the vendors I used, provided through Electra Cruises (Carrie Zeller photographer, DJ Raul, LaVonne's florist, Cinderally cakes, and Captian Charles Peiper) were amazing and provided high quality service!

Also, Lorraine, our event coordinator, was a joy to work with. She answered all of my questions in a timely manner and never made me feel as though I was bugging her or asking too many questions.

If you want a unique venue with superb service and great value for cost, Electra Cruises is THE place!

The best day of my life! My hubby and I just had our wedding reception this last saturday April 09, 2011 on the Destiny and everything turned out expectacular. Our coordinator was Maureen which was amazing and our host for saturday was Maribel and she was also amazing. The food was so good, their service was perfect, everything was so great.

Everyone had an amazing time and loved the whole scenery. Our family and friends had a great time. I would completely recommend electra cruises to anyone. It is so affordable and such a great and different experience. The weather was great and we had the wonderful sunset.

I absolutely loved my experience with Electra cruise. Beautifull ships, great price and wonderfull customer service. We worked with Donna who was amazing! She was with me every step of the way! My wedding coordinator for the day of made sure my wedding went so smooth. Everything was setup on time and the events were executed seamlessly. I would highly reccomend thus venue!

Electra Cruises was a godsend! We were on the Eternity and couldn't have asked for a better day. Allison took care of all our details leading up to the day, and Victoria executed the day-of details perfectly. Our guests were "wowed" by the ship, the food, and how smoothly everything transitioned from ceremony to lunch to cake cutting and so on. We loved each and every one of our vendors, and Allison put together the perfect package for us.

The only thing we would have changed was the amount of time. The 4 hours flew by! We read this from other reviews, and wish we had booked the extra hour.

If you're looking for a 1st-class venue and an inclusive wedding package that won't break your budget, definitely give Electra Cruises a call.

We got married on the Destiny in October 2010 and we highly recommend this place! Before we went to look at the yachts we were really not that interested in being on a boat since my husband and I both get motion sickness. And we were on such a tight budget, we didn’t think a nice place like this was affordable. Wow were we wrong! This was actually the best value for the money and we never even knew that we were moving! Our consultant before the wedding was fantastic, her Name is Maureen. Overall, we had a great time here and think it was perfect! And everyone always thinks that we spent more than we did for how elegant it was!

Here's another great review on Electra. I booked in 4/2009 and I just got married this month 10/2010. Everything went smoothly. I worked with Lorraine and my day cordinator was Adriana. Both ladies were FANTASTIC. Please do not worry about anything going wrong...the cordinator and staff know what they are doing and can handle just about any situation. I cannot express how good Electra is...from the boat..to the captain to the wait staff and everyone in the Elctra office! Thank you for making my day carefree and memorable!

We decided to do something different for our wedding that nobody we know has ever done. That is when we found Electra Cruises on line and decided to check them out. It was the best decision we ever made. We were married on the yacht Electra and it was just fabulous. Our rep, Heather helped us with the planning every step of the way and was very sweet. Our coordinator the day of the wedding, Karen, was just fantastic. She was there at our side all day to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was wonderful. And the day was absolutely perfect. All of our guests raved about the whole wedding from start to finish and said they never had so much fun. I recommend Electra Cruises highly. Thanks, Electra!

We had our wedding between 12:00 and 4:00 PM on the yacht Athena and are still hearing rave reviews (one of our friends actually asked if it would be ok with us if they copied our wedding because they were so impressed). I could go on forever but the best idea is for you to go down and meet with them. You will not be disappointed. We had about 80 people total with a 2 entree meal, hor d'oevres and an open bar.

A friend had referred us to Electra Cruises, and we are so happy with our decision to have our wedding there! Everything was perfect! Everyone worked really hard, and gave us whatever we needed. All of our guests had a wonderful time! Our wedding day was perfect and we will cherish the memories forever in our hearts!

We had our wedding aboard the Newport Princess! It was wonderful! They worked with us! The staff was great! They even waited as most our family was coming from the riverside area and they were running late due to freeway problems. The night went with out a problem.

Dee Dee was our coordinator, and she was great. She was always responsive to all my questions and made me feel at ease with all the planning. In the end, our wedding was beautiful and we had so much fun. Karen was my coordinator on the yacht for the wedding day. She tended to all the details of the wedding. Keeping us on track with time and getting everything in during the 4 hours we were on the yacht. The food was great, the service excellent, and staff totally amazing. The guests all had such a good time and they are still raving about our wedding. Thank you everyone!!

We were married aboard Destiny. We enjoyed every moments of our wedding. All our guests were happy. Maureen was our agent. She is the nicest person you can ever meet. She was very helpful from the day we first met her to sign the contract. She gave us so many helpful advices. Our coordinator Susan was exceptional. We don’t have enough words to describe how great Susan was. She went beyond her responsibilities to make our wedding nice and smooth. All the staff who works at the Yacht was very professional with great smile. We recommend DJ Roy, he was great. Mike video is very professional. We haven’t seen the video yet but we have a good feeling it will be very good. Cinderella cake delivered the wrong color cake but we weren’t to upset about it. The cake was ok. Cinderella cake claimed the color might have been faded during delivery but we recommend going with real flower rather than the eatable (if it fades). We are very disappointed with our photographer, Jerome Kelly. We would not recommend his service at all. Over all we had great time. We would like to thank all the staff from Electra Cruises for making our wedding perfect.

Our wedding was amazing and people are still commenting on how it was such a wonderful and unique wedding! The service was great, food was yummy and everything was set up just how my husband and I wanted it! If we had to do it again we would not change one thing except maybe adding just an extra half hour to hour, it went by too fast!! :)

We were married aboard The Athena on March 27, 2010 and it was PERFECT!!! Electra Cruises is a wonderful company to go through to plan your wedding! Maureen was our coordinator and she was fabulous She responded to every single email... even if it was silly like- what is the dimensions of a window! She was so flexible and helpful! She gave me great decorating advice to help cut the costs and really took her time to explain all of your different options to us. The staff was wonderful also! At the end of the night they helped carry all the center pieces and things to the car- they went above and beyond in every way!!! The cruise was awesome and everyone says its the best wedding they have been to!! I highly recommend Electra Cruises! You will not be disappointed!!

We really enjoyed working with Electra Cruises Maureen was great and Susan the cordinator on the boat was fabulous. It made planning easy because they already have great vendors picked out and the food was wonderful. My only suggestion would be maybe an extra half hour if went way too quick

I have absolutley no complaints about this venue! Julie Hermes was my representative and she was just awesome! I had a strict budget of $10,000.00 and Electra Cruises made it happen. We used the yacht Electra which was beautiful! My favorite part was the spiral staircase that goes up the back of the boat. This boat looks its best at night when its all lit up inside. There are windows everywhere so you can always see the scenery and the boat gives off a beautiful glow. The staff took care of everything and I never had to ask for anything! Overall we were very please with all the services provided. If you're bringing an outside cater make sure all details are discuss ahead of time. We had some trouble getting our cater in contact with the correct person for planning. Other than that everything was great! The feedback we got from our guest was fantastic and would definately cosider electra for future events.

The event ran like clockwork, the food was prepared fresh onboard and was DELICIOUS, the staff was courteous, and the price was very reasonable! We are so glad we decided to go with Electra for our wedding and would recommend it highly to all of our friends & family.

Electra Cruises provided the most amazing venue for our wedding. We were on the Crystal, the most beautiful yacht on the Harbor. The staff was amazing to work, and made our day perfect. It is a wonderful place to get married and includes alot of the little details that can stress you out. It included Food, Drinks, Linens, DJ, Cake...and a vendor list they typically work with. Electa Cruises made planning our wedding easy. Everyone is still talking about how amazing the boat, staff and food was. I highly recommend it. The only think I would change is to make the time on the boat longer. The package is for 4 hours. I wish I had 6.

I was married on the Eternity with Electra cruises on September 18th and it was such a wonderful experience. The staff was so kind and helpful and they made our day so beautiful. Allison was the person in the office helping us and she responded to all my emails and phone calls very quickly . The food, the service, the ship all of it was perfect and I would definately recomend them for any wedding

Everything was perfect, we had a couple hiccups with some of the food, but it didn't matter, because the whole day was great, the yacht was beautiful and we had a wonderful time. We were refunded for the food that we missed, and it was refunded right away. I would reccommend to anyone, very good service, and friendly staff... This is definitely a perfect venue for an all inclusive wedding, and it's very affordable.

we had our wedding on 2/5/10 on the Athena and everything was AWESOME! people are still talking about how much fun they had and that they enjoyed everything. our guests loved the food we served the roasted beef baron, red potatoes, salad, and hot rolls. our coordinator was so helpful, she knew how to make things go smooth and worked very very well with DJ Von (highly reccomend) and our photographer (House of Photography) there was a problem with the roof and was leaking water (raining) but they compensated us which was really nice of them because i dont think that we would have made a huge fuss over. overall we highly reccomend Electra

Wedding: 6/12/11 Aboard the Athena Yacht

The wedding was perfect. I could not have chosen a better venue. The employees were so professional, and so helpful. The list of vendors they had were perfect and when using theirs the wedding went so smoothley. Everyone who came had a blast and I could not have been happier. My husband enjoyed every minute of it too.

Everything went great, and the food was marvelous. Our guests had a wonderful time.
I'd like to thank you for all your help along the way. And especially for letting us drop off our wedding favors/items the night before. That was a real life saver due to the fact that everyone was essentially coming in from out of town and at different times. I can't imagine how Michael and I would have gotten those things over there easily on the morning of the wedding! You were a joy to work with and have a way of keeping things calm - which is exactly what a bride needs!
If you talk to Nikki, give her my thanks again. She did an absolutely fabulous job and was a joy to be around! I would highly recommend her to others.
There is one thing that I'd like to bring to your attention. There was another wedding there at noon for ''Liz and James.'' My niece (who was in charge of the guest book) told me that guests were coming up to our wedding and were confused. There are some signatures in our guest book of people we don't know (Yvonne Roberts, Ricky Roberts, Robin Orbanova-or something). We did not receive any gifts or money that do not belong to us though, so I don't think they have to worry. However, there are 3 or 4 people that attended our wedding that we have not received gifts from yet (God, that sounds so monetary and horrible!) I am only bringing this 4p because of the confusion - I hope there was not a mix-up. (People can't handle 2 Liz's in the same place!) Not sure what to do - should we just wait?
Anyhow, thanks again for making our wedding so much fun!

One of the reasons why we went with Electra cruises was because of the ease of planning. The packages are very customizable to any budget. They have vendors' day where you pick out your florist, officiant, DJ, photographer, baker, and videographer. You also get to do a food tasting on the same day. All vendors are paid through Electra cruises and that includes tip. This makes paying for the wedding and tipping really easy. I really liked how you get a wedding coordinator with your package. Mine was Elizabeth, who was super-duper helpful on my big day.

Fantastic! I had my wedding on the Newport Princess and every guest said it was the best wedding they had ever been to! Everyone had a great time and a lot of fun. Only concern was with our photographer who was rude. I contacted Electra after the wedding, and they really took this seriously and are helping to remedy the situation. Lorraine is amazing, and all other vendors were very professional and really wanted to make my night special for me!

Everyone loved the wedding location! Their agents a very responsive. Everything was well organized, the food was great, and it was just an amazing day!

Electra Cruises did an amazing job helping me to plan for ur big day. I have never been to a wedding before, and my own was going to be my first. They helped me through every step of the way and made our day relaxing and fun. They were so helpful. The food is amazing! They are very well organized, and have great prices! The vendors they offer are awesome!

Food was fantastic! After the wedding however, there were a few things left on the boat. Took the people awhile to contact me back. Overall I had a great wedding, they made sure all my guests had everything, and they catered to all my needs.

OUr wedding was beautiful! You can't beat the scenery of the harbor. Our in-office coordinator was Allison. She was quick to reply to my e-mails and very helpful. It was so easy because they have so many things to offer in the package. Our only disappointment was that they have to shut the music off at 10pm. We paid the extra hour until 11pm and we were not told of this fact until halfway through the wedding. I had read about that on some other review and when I asked my coordinator, she said that we may have to turn down the music but it should not be an issue. They said if we wanted to keep the music, we would have to dock. We went with that, and pretty much everyone got off the boat since they thought we were done! But we have had many compliments about the wedding and the food. We're overall very satisfied :)

We celebrated our Wedding during the day on 7/31/11 aboard the "Destiny." Lorraine was our coordinator and was very prompt with answers to all of our questions. She could be reached at almost any point in the day and sometimes responded as soon as an email was sent out.

The day of the wedding went off without any hitches. The staff was very professional and attended to all our needs. Our day of the wedding coordinator Karen assisted with the rehearsal and helped to ease any nervousness that we felt.

The food prepared was good with the exception of the cheesy potatoes. They seemed to be a little undercooked but the New wave chicken more than made up for it.

Our officiant Chuck Pieper was well prepared and helped put together an outline of the ceremony. He was very receptive to our input and took care of all the ceremony needs.

DJ Vonn was our DJ for the ceremony and did not disappoint. He incorporated all the songs that we asked and was very flexible. His website assisted us with our song selection.


Some of the drawbacks:
-Dance floor cost $600- This should just be automatically added into the cost of the wedding since it makes no sense to be dancing on carpet.
-Our rehearsal was cancelled 3 days before scheduled due to yacht being unavailable. It wasn't that big of a deal since the rehearsal was done in about 15 minutes on the day of the wedding.
- The temperature inside the boat tends to get a little hot. The occasional breeze was met with applause by most in attendance.

Overall, I was very pleased with Electra cruises and would recommend them to anybody in the future. They would have gotten 5 stars if it weren't for some of the drawbacks.

Anyone that is considering Electra Cruises I would say select Electra for your venue. We had our wedding on the Electra yacht August 15, 2009 and it was a truly amazing. I could not ask for a better staff on the Yacht. They where truly the best. I have to say there where a few bumps in the road at first but Jason the Manager was fast to take care of all our needs.

This was such a unique and fairly easy way to do a wedding. I highly recommend it!

Maureen was my sales office coordinator and Rene was my wedding day coordinator. Both were great! Everything ran smooth and the food was great. Everyone had a great time at my wedding. Maureen gave great advice and was a pleasure to work with. Rene was a sweetheart and had everything running on time. I loved working with both!

We had our wedding aboard he Yacht Eternity and what a stunning wedding it turned out to be. Our coordinator Mona and Heather the manager were beyond amazing and bent over backwards to make my day perfect. We got so many comments that this was the best wedding people had ever been to and even had a few guests ask who to speak to so that they could throw a party there. If you love the beach and want to have a rockin wedding...Electra Cruises is the venue for you!

Excellent venue, food and drinks. I had the best day of my life aboard the biggest yacht they have called Eternity. My only downfall is one that could happen happen at any venue. The policy where you don't get money back for the people who don't show up. I know it's not their fault the people don't show up but if I have more people show up they would expect me to pay for them but I have less people and you still keep all my money. Everyone knows they are going to cook a little extra food anyway so why not refund them their money since you would expect us to pay if we had more people. Other than that Electra made my day the best day a woman could ever ask for. The food is still being talked about amongst my guest even 2 weeks after it all.

We used them for our wedding reception, it was outstanding. They were very good to work with and they did go out of their way to make it perfect. I liked that they give you an on board wedding coordinator so you can relax, she was on top of everything. The only negative was that there was a mis-communication about the tipping and my $500 security deposit went to a tip that I didn't expect or want to do. Also, because I was not aware I tipped them on top of that. I'm over it, the party was great and everyone had a blast.

The yachts at Electra Cruises are so beautiful! There is just something about having your reception on a yacht and enjoying the beautiful view of the Newport Harbor. We had our ceremony in church, so we only used the yacht as our reception venue. I personally didn't want our ceremony there because, 1) We are Catholic and had to get married in church and, 2) 4 hours is not enough time to have both your ceremony and reception. I couldn't have asked for a better reception venue. What I really liked was that Electra Cruises has their own vendors which makes it so easy. A lot of girls still go with outside vendors, but I didn't mind using theirs because they are all great. Trust me, you want to make it easy on yourself when planning for the big day. I practically did it myself and I was stress free! Anyways, the crew/staff was amazing! There were some mishaps because I wasn't given some information until the day of, but it all turned out well thanks to the coordinator that comes with the package. All I can say is that everyone had a great time and many of our guests said that our wedding was one that they will never forget. My husband I feel feel the exact same way. =)

We had out wedding on thhe Destiny and it was a daytime wedding.
It was so beautiful and our guests were very impressed. We loved the food and the whole vocation atmosphere. We have lots of beautiful pictures! Dee Dee was very responsive and helpful. They also gave us a free lifering with our names on it. The coordinator was helpful and they have a schedule so you dun need to worry about the flow of the wedding too much.The boat was very stable and you cant really feel it moving at all. I would love to do other events on their boats again!

Everything was great except they made the wrong side dishes and the captain performed different vows than we had previously discussed...

All the pretty words in all the cards can not convey my joy at our reception aboard Athena. Your captain, staff, crew and vendors were simply wonderful to my daughter and her new husband. Our guests still carry-on so about the fun, the great food and all the magical moments. Every day with this couple is a great gift, this evening with you all was a “Bonus.” Even tho there was a mix-up with the cake, this couple has far greater issues in there life than cake. So I’ve made the best of it and ate up the cake that was there. The bride has ask me to donate our glass bowls to your co., in hopes another bride and groom might like to use them. In closing..I send thanks, a very, very heartfelt thanks.

Electra Cruises was my Ceremony and Reception location and if I could do it all over again I would! They made my day run so smoothly and it was a blast! I highly recommenend that for your day of coordinator you request MONA, she was wonderful. Everything ran so smooth because of her. I was concerned due to the reviews that I found after I booked them but I have no clue how they came to their conclusions. The food was great, people kept telling me how wonderful it was. Staff was very friendly to our guests which is very important! Although they have vendors that they recommend you are free to have your own vendors which is what I did! Maureen in the office was great as well. Excellent place to have your wedding!

Electra Cruises was a great venue! We were a bit disappointed in the lack of flexibility for them to accommodate special specific needs of our event, because they were so used to doing it one exact way for everyone. For low budget, they are wonderful! For big budget, the boats can be absolutely superb!

Our wedding was amazing! The boat is really pretty and all my guests enjoyed the ceremony and reception. They have a network of vendors and that made it very easy to plan the wedding. Our "off-boat" coordinator was great. She responded quickly to all our questions and really wanted us to have the best wedding. The only reason I didn't give them 5 out 5 for everthing is because they told us that we had 11 extra guests when we actually had no extra guests on board. But they ended up refunding us the money so that worked out ok. So just make sure someone you trust is also checking off the list as the guests come on board.

I don't usually write reviews but since I had a very good time and experience with Electra Cruises yesterday, 1/30/2011, I feel compelled to give them an outstanding review. We became engaged in late October and literally only had about 3 months to make all the preparations including the invitations. Luckily, my wife did 95% of all the work. I was just there to provide my input and feedback. I think i can speak for most couples that your input does exist but it doesn't count LOL. That's ok honey.

My wife had already helped a lot with her twin sister's marriage 2 years ago and so already knew the "ropes"; show's how much I know about planning a wedding. My wifey is more of the type of person to write reviews but since she is busy today getting her hair done then I feel i should step in since I'm just sitting around the house today doing nothing.

We first came into contact with Maureen and she is a very nice, sweet woman. She made sure every question we had was properly addressed and even tried to help save money by telling us to book 10-20 people less than the amount RSVP'ed since you're always going to get people that end up not showing up. And she was right, it actually turned out that 180 people showed up rather than the 201 that RSVP'ed. Luckily, with Maureen's advice we only wasted about 10 people worth of money since we ordered for 190 people.

Maureen was almost like a mother to us. She was not pushy at all about us going with Electra. She was very patient, suggestive, and warm. It almost felt like we knew her for a long time. She likes to give hugs when saying goodbye and even came to hug my wife and I on our big day. Maureen even called us a few times in one day to make sure that we received the modified quote since my work does not allow me to bring cell phones and she didn't know where to find my wifey's phone number. My wife and I are thinking of buying her a small gift when we go on our honeymoon.

The yacht is great!!! We used the Eternity and that ship is huge, inviting, and elegant. The waiters, bartenders, dj, florist, minister, and wedding coordinator were all great. We decided to go with the dj, florist, and minister that Electra provides. You can choose to go with your own, but for convenience and the price, it was not much to ponder on.

We felt that using the minister that Electra provides would add a great ambiance and atmosphere since he is a captain of a ship. So, he was decked out in his captain's uniform and hat which really set the mood and the tone since we ARE getting married on a ship. The florist is a little more expensive than if you go to one in westminster. However, the florist in westminster wanted us to buy more flowers if she was going to give us a good deal. We only ordered 1 big floral arrangement for ceremony, groom boutineer, and bride bouqette for our ceremony and flowers for our wedding cake. That florist amounted to about $500 (including the $200 labor charge). Luckily, my wifey's twin sister knows how to make the corsages, bouqettes, and boutineers so we saved a good amount of money on the groomsmen, best man, relatives, bridesmaid, and maid of honor flowers. We saved money too by buying our own runner and spreading flower petals along the runner ourself and making our own dining centerpieces.

Our wedding coordinator was great. Her name is Victoria. Very nice and accomodating woman. I don't think we had too many requests. I told her we needed a table outside to check-in people, two small tables for our digital photo frames, and was in charge of the rehearsal. She was nice enough to even get a drink for me when i was seated at our sweetheart table. She was very comforting and relaxing reminding us not to stress on our big day and that that is what she is here for.

Dj is great too. He has a huge library of songs to choose from. And, if he doesn't have it he will make sure he can get it. He even made us a CD of all the songs he played during the wedding. The dj helped with announcing the directions to the guests according to the itinerary and logistics since the ship consisted of four floors (dining, nightclub, ceremony, outdoor roof deck)

But, all in all, I have no complaints and regrets of doing it with Electra Cruises. I would recommend to anyone. My wife and I even looked at reviews of competitors in Long Beach and Marina del Rey. The reviews did not seem too appealing especially when you want your happiest day to be the best and happiest.

The venue provided a really good package, both affordable and unique. Please be aware that you will not meet their coordinator until the morning/day of the wedding, which could be a bit hectic. The coordinator was supposed to have our food at the sweetheart table for the bride and groom ready once we arrived for the reception, but for some reason she waited at the back of the buffet line which resulted in us getting our meals late and therefore not having enough time to chat with all of our tables. For the value and their routine wedding schedule, most of it worked out fine (thanks to our wedding party assisting us with getting things done for us so we wouldn't get frustrated).

My husband and I were married on the "Crystal." The boat was beautiful, the servers were great and the food was delicious. The wedding coordinator on the boat the day of the wedding was great, kept everything flowing and me calm. I only wish it could have been longer.

I planned this wedding from TN and everything went wonderfully! It was wonderful! Cat was fantastic helping on the night of the big event. The food was divine and it was beautiful! All the guests had a great time and I didn't have to worry about a thing!

We are very happy with Electra Cruises. We got married on the Destiny boat (a mid-size boat for 100-150 ppl). Flexibility is rated low because you are restricted to their set of vendors for Flowers, Photo, Music, etc. But... this is also a blessing in disguise since you don't have to run around the city and call everyone from yellow pages. But you have to book your favorite vendor quickly as the good ones go fast. We booked our boat 11 months in advance. They provide the food and have many options and it was all good. Once a month they host meet-a-vendor and taste-the-food event that we highly recommend you attend as early as possible. Setting is extremely elegant and boat needs little decorating as Newport Beach provides all the scenery. Responsiveness can be so-so depending on the agent you get, so just be sure to stay on top of everything and stay in touch frequently with them.

we booked electra because we thought it was a really great price for all that is included. we were a little misguided by the "included" part because it required a lot of 'upgrades". we booked onto the destiny. she is a great boat. we loved our dj von and our photographer kelly video photo. we didnt like the florists though becasue they were so expensive, so i booked through someone else i had found much cheaper (though i almost wish i had splurged because that went a bit wrong, but thats a different review). when i had booked them though and was finalizing i came to find out that you cant really have outside vendors. luckily the person i had chosen had worked with them and so he met the "requirements". i think mostly it was just the fact that maureen our wedding planner was just so nice and amazing she let it slide. the food was great and the night was beautiful. splurge for the well bar its worth it and not much more. the only other thing that i really have to complain about was the fact that this stupid boat show was going on the same weekend as our wedding. which we didnt find out until like 3 weeks before. this made parking in their tiny garage a little hectic though they do save spots for all the weddings they will be having each day so that is nice. what really sucked was that the boat was moved from its usual location. to where was supposedly just a little further down. well it was like a whole mile further of rough dock. not good for elderly guests. my grandmother actually fell!!! also it was a long way to lug all the stuff we had to bring. other than that it was beautiful and i would do it again. guests at my wedding are actually talking about having their weddings their because they loved it so much

We are very very pleased with our wedding may 29, 2011!!! Lorraine was our coordinator and really made the whole process easy breezy. Our day of coordinator also made us feel at ease. Everything went smooth and our guests couldn't stop saying how wonderful our wedding was.

I loved getting married on the Crystal through Electra cruises. It was gorgeous and perfect. It felt a little short of course but other than that, it was amazing. We only had a couple problems the day of....They wouldn't let our photographer's assistant on which meant I paid for the extra hour with the photographer, but only got about 20 minutes since he was trying to explain to them to let his assistant on. That was not his fault at all. Because of that I barely got any pictures from before the wedding. They also let guests on while I was getting pictures taken with my bridesmaids, so they got to see me before my big entrance...but I just ran to the room :)
Other than those minor things, I would recommend this place for anyone who is planning a wedding. We got so many compliments on it, how beautiful it was and how it was the best wedding they've been to. Just beware that the costs of the vendors will very easily become more. With most of the vendors, you only get a little bit and then you have to pay more for more pictures or more flowers. Just remember you can do your own things. I decided not to go with the flower vendor. Way too expensive. So I ordered them online and it turned out perfect and they deducted the price of that vendor from our total.
Overall it was a beautiful wedding and I absolutely loved it.

I haven't had my wedding yet but I just wanted to send a review to say how fabulous my experience has gone so far. Everyone I have worked with up until this point has been so helpful and everything has been flat out from the very beginning. I love everything about them and can't wait for my wedding day.

Everyone said that my wedding was the best one they had ever been to. I grew up in Newport so I always knew that I wanted to have a wedding on the ocean. My Day was perfect. Be sure to ask about extra costs for things like linens, elevator or the yacht, etc because you don't want to be surprised a few days before your wedding on the extra costs. The people there are super nice and more than happy to answer your questions. It turned out way better than I ever imagined

Although the yachts with this company are stunning I wasn't 100% sold on this venue because everything was all inclusive so we took some time to think about it before aking the commitment. We spoke with DeeDee our sales agent and we (DH, MOH, and I) were very detailed in asking if we had to use all of their inclusive vendors. Well our sales agent assured us any vendor could be swaped out. But Electra doesn't view catering as a vendor, and therefore we found out months later after making our frist two deposits, we could not use an outside vendor for catering. I was really rattled by this revelation and initially they offered me my money back if I wanted to cxl. But this was a little under two months before my holiday weekend wedding, so I declined. Their food was not bad it was just not what we planned on for our wedding.

After all that was said and done the only other discreptancy was I remembered being told I would have access to several different linen colors, but not told I would have to pay more for colors other than black, white, or ivory. No biggie but it stressed me out a little thinking, what else will surprise me?!

Well now to jump to the rehearsal. I met my DOC Karen, and she was fantabulous!!! She really helped ease my worries. And on wedding day she was a jewel, I had non-designated coordinators (family) and she handled it so well, I think! She helped the night flow so well and I hope we didn't drive her too crazy.

BTW everyone raved about how great the food was :D (Although I wasn't 100% sold on it, but I am a extraordinarily picky eater). I recommend if you go to this venue see if you can request DeeDee as your sales agent, and Karen as your DOC if they will allow, because even after the bumps in the road I wouldn't have wanted anyone else in that office helping me with my most special day.

P.S. DeeDee had to basically spank my hand, and walk me through the side entrance because I was late for my own wedding ): I <3 my venue! My family keeps saying they will all go to the court to get married, because no one will be able to top MY wedding!!! Thanks Electra XOXO

The only complaints are, our coordinator that we contacted with for months was retired before our wedding, but no one informed us! Also, the piano on board doesn't work well. The keys were sticky. Otherwise, our wedding was great!

Electra was an AWESOME venue for a wedding. The food was absolutely awesome as well! The night went by so fast but our wedding coordinator (Katy I think was her name) was really great keeping everything on schedule and moving. Everything was set up beautifully. Everyone said that it was a pretty rocking wedding!!!
I have two complaints:
1. I believe that one of the bartenders wasn't too nice with some of my guests. I know that they have to control the alcohol flow with those that are underage, but please act cool about it.
2. My scheduled rehearsal never made it onto their schedule. It's stressful enough meeting the coordinator a mere few days before the wedding, but it's even more stressful that our time wasn't written on their schedule. I understand that there is miscommunication at times, but it sucked waiting at the boat and no one was there. I was lucky and there was another rehearsal taking place at the same time. The coordinator of that rehearsal was able to help me out as well. I believe that a confirmation the week of saying "Oh hey, looks like you didn't schedule a rehearsal" would have triggered that our name wasn't placed on the list.

I also don't know what happened to the items that were left on the boat. We were told we had to get off or else we would be charged for staying on. So we got out ASAP. But I don't know what happened to all my extra centerpieces that weren't taken by guests. I wish I could have salvaged some of them! With all the craziness that was happening and people pulling me in all different directions, it would have been nice to at least do a quick walk through the boat to check for lost items.

Electra cruises - the yacht was of course beautiful. We started at 7pm-11pm.. so it was sunset during our ceremony & it was beautiful. The staffs were very helpful. We did a sit-down dinner & had the black & white pasta. The food, especially the salad, was very good.

Captain - We had captain Pieper as our officiant. He was wonderful. We were very nervous at first, but he calm us down & gave us very good directions, was very pleasant & very professional. I would highly recommend him.

Coordinator- Our coordinator from Electra Cruises was ok. She did help with the coordination & timing of things, but not that much help in general with the setup. She was not very friendly & did not smile. If I could choose again, I think I will just have my own coordinator & not hire their coodinator.

Overall we were very please with all the services provided. If you're bringing an outside cater make sure all details are discuss ahead of time. We had some trouble getting our cater in contact with the correct person for planning. Other than that everything was great! The feedback we got from our guest was fantastic and would definately cosider electra for future events.

Lorraine at Electra Cruises is awesome. She always responded to my emails immediately and worked with us on our budget. We were very happy with her!
I gave a 0 to responsiveness because I had some major complaints that happened at the wedding with the coordinator and sent an email to the manager Jason and he never even emailed me back! I wanted to bring these to his attention so no one else has this problem and I never heard from him! We spent alot of money for 4 hours and I think I deserved a phone call or email.
The nite was beautiful though!!!

Overall great experience with Electra, however they did raise catering prices on us a couple weeks before the wedding.

A beautiful venue for a large or small gathering!

I do recommend electra cruises. At the time of my wedding there were some slight communication problems. I highly recommend during a practice run through a couple of days before the wedding. We were told we could do a practice run a little before the guests arrived but everything was so hectic that really didn't happen. The value of services received for the cost was exceptional. The boat is gorgeous and everyone really seemed to enjoy themselves.

Our wedding was gorgeous and we couldn't be happier. All of our guests were so amazed by the uniqueness and beauty of our wedding.

However, we weren't given all info up front and most of the pitfalls of Electra, I found out through a friend of a friend who had her wedding through them. We were not informed that gifts would not be permitted on board, nor that we could opt not to use their vendors. Electra can be very flexible, they just don't tell you that.

Prior to booking vendors other than those on their vendor list, make sure your potential vendor contacts Electra to confirm that they meet the requirements: liability policy and worker's comp. Electra wouldn't let my florist work with them because she didn't have worker's comp (family business so it was not legally required).

The day of coordinator was amazing and she helped through every step of the way. Someone even spilled beer on my dress and she got it all out in just a few minutes and finding me very upset. She is there to help you and anything you need she will make sure is done.

My best recommendation is to get request 6 hours rather than 4 hours because 4 was just too short. Our officiant rushed through the ceremony because of it. He spoke so fast that our two page ceremony with the candle lighting only lasted approx. 10 minutes!!

Everything went perfect with electra cruises before the wedding. The only issue we had with with the day of coordinator. Not very personable and asked my wedding party to help set up the tables...

First off let me say our wedding was beautiful and everyone had a great time on the boat. The time from after the booking to the actual wedding was a bit of a struggle. First our coordinator left the company and never bothered to call us to tell us that we would have a new one. It was about of week of not getting our calls returned that a new coordinator contacted us and told us she would be taking over. There was never any explanation to this, but as I've read other reviews it has happened before. Then, after we had signed our contract, they raised the prices!!! I thought the whole idea of the contract was to solidify a price for your wedding, but apparently they don't follow those rules. Also, $600 for a portable dance floor seems a bit excessive to me.

Make sure you bring your own table numbers because they don't have them, even though we were told that they do. Renee was our coordinator for the event date and she was very quick on her feet. She was able to find some paper and make a few up real quick, and for that I applaud her ingenuity. DJ Von was amazing, as was our photographer Jerome Kelly. We would definitely recommend them to anyone.

If we had to do it all over again, we would still choose Electra, only be more wary of their random cost increases. The wedding turned out beautifully even though there were some hicups here and there, but that is to be expected.

Menu prices were raised two weeks before our wedding date, unfortunately nothing that we could do about it because of our contract subject to change. Renee our day of coordinator was fantastic though! Overall a good experience with Electra. Beware of cinderella cakes though.

All in all the wedding turned out amazing but their were definitely bumps down the road. There were a lot of things that i was not allowed to do (like have a dj that we wanted, we had to use their whack dj). The food was great and we had a great time. One of my biggest complaints was that i hired my amazing and organized wedding planner and they wouldn't let her do anything...she couldn't even come upon the yacht!

The service in the beginning of our wedding planning was a little rocky as we were moved from one representative to another and our new representative was hard to get ahold of and didn't return phone calls. As we got closer to our wedding date we were taken care of. Renee, who was our wedding day coordinator, was AMAZING! She made sure everything went smooth and everything was perfect.

I would not recommend their DJ - Bobby Mustol as he and his crew were horrible! They didn't have any of the music we requested. We wanted country music and he only played 1 country song!! Instead of mixing the music and fading into the next song they stopped the song and there was no music for 10 seconds while they found the next song to play. It was very disappointing! We all had to wait on the dance floor as they downloaded the wedding party song because they were so unprepared. Especially when I sent them all of our request's weeks prior to our event date. Do not book with them, they are over priced and don't know what they are doing!!!!

Electra does offer other DJ's, just make sure you talk to your coordinator and don't use Bobby Mustol & his wife!!

I got married on an Electra Cruise in September. For the most part we were very happy with how everything turned out and especially loved how inexpensive it was compared to other venues. The biggest issue we had is that we signed our contract with them and paid for the event in full... the day after we signed/paid they contacted us to inform us that the Annual Newport Yacht Parade would be happening on the same day as our wedding! We couldn't believe that they hadn't told us about the event. Of-course they didn't tell us about it before hand because they wanted to be able to make money off an event date that they knew no one would want (we obviously wouldn't have booked it if we knew about the parade). The day of the event, the yacht was docked far out in a different area, there were so many people near the harbor it was hard for my guests to park, and more than anything we were worried about our elderly guests to fall while having to walk so far on the docks. All in all, everything ran smoothly thanks to our wedding planner. The food was great on the boat - we had the pasta bar for each guest (I only recommend it if you use a large yacht since you need space). We are able to look back on our wedding day and smile, thankfully the boat parade didn't ruin our day. I do recommend Electra Cruises, just be sure to ask every question under the sun before signing a contract with them!

Everything went well until, the day of the wedding. We delt with one person the whole time we were planning the wedding. Then the day of we get someone that has no idea what is going on. We had no idea if all the guest were on the boat, due to not having the guest list that I sent them. People were getting on the boat before boarding time and walking down to were the bride was. Then I had had the party favors in a nice basket all decorated nice, and the person placed all the party favors on the tables we s the people were getting off the boat they had no little gift. I was not happy with the switching of the workers but over all the wedding was good.

My Husband and I had a great time on the day of our wedding and were able to enjoy it. But..... prior to the wedding, there were many things that were so unprofessional of the venue. Everything was going great with planning and we were so excited, we booked the venue and had everything signed - the next day they called to inform us that the Newport Beach Yacht Parade would be taking place on the same day as our wedding! Ofcourse they didn't share that with us prior to signing on the dotted line (because they didn't want to miss out on making money on a date that no one else would want)! We already signed and paid for everything, so we couldn't do anything about it. On the day of, the boat was moved miles away to a different location on the dock. Initially the Electra Contact informed us that we would be able to have all our guests board the boat on the dock where they normally have it parked (which is very close) - instead our guests had to walk at least an extra mile down a narrow and rocky dock (very unsafe for our elderly guests and children). Thank God there were no falls into the water!

Other than the misinformation and them tricking us into booking a date that no one in their right mind would want, we had a great experience once all our guests boarded. It is a great value for your money, my advice for you to be able to fully enjoy your wedding with Electra is to ask every question under the sun before you sign a contract with them. Best of luck!!

I was not overly impressed. The champaine was warm towards the end of the reception. I felt very rushed through things, almost like i missed parts of my own wedding. I was very angry they didn't have my mom walk down the aisle, but had her slip in from the front.

I had a wonderful time at my wedding and the boat was beautiful. I was less impressed with Electra as a company. They raised the food prices on us $5 at the last minute. We also paid extra for a call bar and they kept serving guests the well alcohol. Although our food was pretty good, it was not as good as the trial.

Electra yachts provide a unique, photogenic wedding location for couples on a budget. There are trade-offs, though, when you sign with a budget location. You will have to choose most of your menu on faith. Couples are only allowed to attend one food tasting, which consists of randomly selected menu items. Not sure you liked what you tasted? The vendors they work with, like the DJs, florists and photographers are sufficient, but not high-end. You'll get to pick out a nice cake, but will not be able to customize it. (Also, the Electra people do not seem to be privy to the fact that Cinderella Cakes provide bridal couples with a one-year anniversary cake, making it unneccessary to preserve the top tier of the wedding cake. So the Electra staff boxed the top tier of our cake instead of serving it. And it was a tier to which we had specifically paid to have fresh fruit added! The boxed top tier went home with my in-laws. A complete waste.)

That line they feed you about "homeland security" and bringing gifts on board is made-up. They don't pay enough attention to prohibit gifts. Also, they will not prevent uninvited guests from adding to your numbers. Be prepared to pay for any extra, unexpected bodies!

I had many decor items that I wanted returned to me after the wedding: candle holders, etc. worth a few hundred dollars. Only a few of these items were returned, the rest were probably thrown out. Oh, and speaking of candles, the yacht I was on allowed you to have them as long as they weren't an "open flame." I'm not sure why that mattered, since the staff didn't bother to light any of the votives I brought, despite my repeated requests to the coordinator. Perhaps I should have brought my own matches?

Bottom line: If you can afford elsewhere, I would recommend it. If this is the best you can afford, it will work.

My bride and I signed a contract with Electra in April 2008. By May, they sent us a letter saying their prices had changed and we'd be billed accordingly. We didn't want to get married bitter, so we found another place and lost our $2,000 deposit.
