Elegant Music

Working with Eric was definitely a breeze. He was always helpful any time I called. He helped me plan out the ceremony and reception, gave me suggestions where inspiration was needed, and even help me customize my wedding music so it was my wedding and not a generic wedding. His skills as a DJ are like none I have ever seen. He kept the party moving all night, sensing the atmosphere like it was his life force. I never expected to see so many people on the dance floor at my wedding, but Eric made it happen. Even the relatives and friends I thought would never get up and dance were dancing with us! The musicians that make up the quintet we hired (violin, cello, flute, harp, and piano also through Eric's company) played amazingly. I got so many compliments on the music! It was beautiful! I couldn't have asked for a better musician and DJ than I found in Eric and his friends.

I immediately knew Elegant Music was for me. We met Eric and his wife Sheila at their home for our consultation. We discussed our vision and music needs for the wedding (originally just a DJ for the reception) and Eric launched into his expertly prepared announcements, personalized with our names. He wowed us with his preparation, attention to detail and elegant voice. After explaining that live ceremony music was probably out of the budget, Eric and Sheila played the song I planned to walk down the aisle to live, right there in the living room. Spectacular. My mom and I cried. They played a few more for us to show all the different kinds of music that sounded beautiful in a piano and flute duet. We talked pricing and realized that it was totally doable to have them play live music for the ceremony and cocktail hour. My dad just handed him his credit card (that does not usually happen!).

On the wedding day, their music was exquisite, of course. I remember standing in the bride’s room, just off the chapel, craning my neck to listen to the beautiful music that everyone else was getting to enjoy . At the reception, Eric was flawless as our DJ. He was so in-tune with the crowd and knew just what to play to keep them dancing all night long. It was better than I could have ever imagined. My disabled mother even jumped out of her scooter to join the party on the dance floor! He is also great with communicating with you through-out the night about the timing of special songs, last songs, etc. All it took was a look to have him start our first dance song at the right moment. He understood the vision of our wedding so well and was instrumental in pulling it all together.

I would highly, highly recommend Elegant Music for their professionalism, incredible experience and beautiful music!

All I can say is that the Elegant Music Team is amazing!!! The contact person, Eric Zimmerman was very easy to work with! He gave me tons of advice on how a wedding processional is done. I hired a musical trio for my ceremony which including a pianoist, saxaphonist and a guitarist. I wanted a soulful jazzy feel to my ceremony! And let me tell you this company made my wildest dreams come true!! They were amazing! They are able to play a variety of music from current songs to oldies but goodies! I will never forget the song that was played as I walked down the aisle it was "I'm Ready" by Alisha Keyes!! It sound so amazing! The only thing I was missing was Alisha Keyes herself! lol! Oh and when they played "Pretty Wings" by Maxwell, I just melted! Thank You Elegant Music for making my wedding day dreams come true!

I think this is important information for couples considering this group to know, this is all based on my opinion and personal experience with the company. We originally hired Elegant Music for our ceremony, and we were very happy with the initial meeting, although we did feel a significant amount of pressure to sign the contract asap, particularly compared to the level of pressure we felt from other vendors. At the meeting, two of the musicians spent a lot of time with us playing various options, and even did an impromptu version of one of my favorite songs. We were very happy and looked forward to the wedding day. Under the contract, we were given up until three months before the wedding date to cancel with an 80% refund of our deposit. Unfortunately, one month after signing the contract, five months out from the wedding, due to going over budget, we needed to cut costs, and this is one of the areas we decided to do it in. This is also where the trouble started.

I wanted to handle the matter through our wedding coordinator, because based on the pressure we felt to get the contract/deposit in within 48 hours of our meeting, I was worried it would become uncomfortable. Our wedding coordinator called, and she said while they pushed not to cancel, they did agree to refund the deposit. The next day I received a voicemail on my cell phone that they were "very upset" and wanted us to call them immediately to discuss this. My fiance and I each took a turn on the phone, and in turn we each became very upset. After pushing us not to cancel, and asking us, how much we were spending on our flowers, Elegant Music agreed to return 80% of our deposit. But the first thing they said was, "you're not going to get it this month, and I can't promise you will get it next month." It was the 3rd of the month. They would not agree to a date to refund the deposit by, and would only say, before 6 months, which could be after our wedding. They were extremely rude to me on the phone, and told me that they've been in business for 20 years, and "you haven't even been married once." They said they are artists, and already spent our deposit and didn't have the money to give to us. We are owed back $320. I kept asking them to agree to refund the money within eight weeks, which my fiance and I agreed was reasonable. They refused to agree to any date. It was just a horrible conversation, that went nowhere, and I am at the point where all future contact with them will have to be in writing.

As far as providing wedding day services, I cannot evaluate their performance, but I do think they are reliable and would do a good job. But good luck if you end up needing to cancel in the agreed amount of time. You'll need it. We sure do.

Our musical group was AWESOME! Not only did they do our music, they also MC'd our reception! Wedding coordinator? Who needs one when you have Elegant Music to take care of everything! For our wedding, we chose to have a quartet playing as guests arrived and throughout the entire ceremony. One piece in particular was a song they learned strictly for our wedding! This quartet also played during cocktail hour at the reception site. As the reception got started, Eric became our MC and navigated the entire wedding! The entire evening was right on point, and so was the music!
