Ed Witles - The Elegant DJ

Ed Witles, the Elegant DJ, was a great choice of DJ for our wedding! He was incredibly flexible, responsive, and, as expected, played a great selection of music with only general guidance from us. In addition to being a great DJ, he was very easy to get a hold of, unlike most wedding vendors, and talk to when you needed information or had questions. That made the booking process much easier! His equipment was great, and he was ready to provide sound amplification for the ceremony at the last minute if we said we needed it. Also, he brought all of his own equipment with him in the event that some of the outdoor electric sockets did not work properly (and some of them did not at our venue). As he states on his website, he really is a very professional, tasteful DJ that we were proud to have at our wedding.

Ed is the most delightful person to work with! I had complete control over the music played, and the day of the wedding I was not worried at all about things going as planned.....Ed is very organized and responsible and I knew I had nothing to worry about. He made sure every single detail was accounted for, and I am so glad I chose him to do the ceremony and the reception music. He was not tacky at all * which was my number one concern with the DJ for the wedding...I didn't want obnoxious comments and cheesy music* Ed had everything timed perfectly and made it not only an extremely classy event, but the most fun I have ever had in my life! Every song was played at the correct time, and every guest commented on what great music we had. I am glad I trusted Ed with the most important day of my life, it turned out better than I could have ever imagined!!! He is spectacular!

Ed Witles of The Elegant DJ provided a superb service for our wedding! We had Ed for our reception only. We sent him a "sample" playlist and he took our ideas and made it even better. We told him, "just keep people dancing" and he did! The music was awesome. My parents commented on how good the music was. I'll never forget watching my husband's grandmother do the Thriller dance. On another note Ed's setup is very small and unobtrusive. You barely notice it's there, and he doesn't do any silly announcements. He didn't need to urge people onto the dance floor because the music was so good that people went on their own.

This DJ was excellent. Most of the songs I requested were played at the reception and all genres were mixed beautifully. The crowd loved everything and were dancing the night away. His introductions were lively and flawless. I would highly recommend the Elegant DJ for any event.

The Elegant DJ is just the perfect description of Ed Witles. From the time we met him for we were immediately comfortable with him. You can immediately tell he really loves his profession; Ed is very proud of and superbly proficient with his DJ equipment. Ed was also ready for all the last minute changes were making for both our ceremony and the reception. I was incredibly lucky and thankful for finding a DJ as professional as Ed. During the reception Ed totally adapted and improvised to the music requests and kept the party rocking. Both our families loved working with Ed. I would highly recommend Ed Witles for any event in need of an “Elegant DJ!”

Ed Witles is a superstar DJ. I have no regrets having worked with Ed, he is wonderful. Not only is he a fantastic DJ, but he has a warm and caring personality which makes the process so much easier. He is excited about music in a good way, makes great suggestions and created a playlist that appealed to everyone ranging from older family members in their 70s to all of our friends in their 20s and 30s.

Everyone raved about the music and I had a few peopole tell me it had been the best wedding they had ever been to - and we all know a huge part of that is the music.

Ed is a true professional and I never had to a moment of worry or doubt that he would do a stellar job - I had complete confidence in him from start to finish.

It was such a treat to receive our ENTIRE playlist from start to finish the day afer the wedding. It was amazing to actually listen to the music from our wedding day - because as the bride and groom you don't really have the opportunity to experience the event the same way as your guests. But to have it all really helped capture so many memories.

Ed is an excellent DJ. He wasn't too talkative and he played music that everyone really enjoyed. We gave him a short list of songs that we thought would be good and the set list he came up with was spot on. He had worked at our venue before and knew exactly the right way to set everything up. He provided wireless microphones for the ceremony and even gave us a CD recording of the ceremony. Many of the guests commented that the music was just the perfect volume so that you could hear the music well, but still have a conversation. During the planning process, Ed was very responsive.

Ed was excellent! My Husband and I were very concerned about the choice of DJ. We had both been to events where the DJ was very distracting. We knew what we DIDN'T WANT—someone who was obnoxious, loud, used a cheap sound system that made their voice muffled and inaudible, and that basically turned the party into a sleazy night club. We didn't know exactly what we DID WANT until we used Ed! He was clear and audible when we needed him to make announcements and otherwise blended into the background when the party was going on. The music selection was perfect—always complimenting the mood and never drawing undo attention to itself. We would DEFINITELY recommend DJ Ed Witles to anyone who wants a class act for their special day.

Ed was fantastic to work with and did a really fabulous job at our reception at the Old Ebbitt. He did a TON of legwork to download special request songs (as our music preferences are a bit unique...) and was so enthusiastic about it all! It was fun to have someone care so much about music, too! He was lovely to interact with and was very reassuring that he would be available, come rain or snow...or blizzard! He takes his job very seriously and is an all-around star. We highly recommend Ed!

Ed was very helpful and accommodating. He was easy to work with and flexible! Ed even came to our wedding site a day early due to the chance of snow...I think we got 6-8 inches! He was really wonderful and I would recommend him to anyone who is getting married!

We were very pleased and happy with there services. The DJ's were great, they did an exceptional job. The dance floor was never empty and everyone had such a great time. Ed was a perfect choice to DJ our wedding - he went above and beyond what one would expect from a DJ! He was extremely prompt and responsive, providing suggestions and recommendations on what he's seen work at other weddings and what doen't work. He even helped with ideas on things not related to the music - flow of the entire event, favors, guest bags at the hotels, etc. On the day of, Ed was there early setting up and helping direct the ceremony band where to go and getting them settled. There were wireless microphones for the ceremony, speakers for outside where the ceremony and dinner were, and a great arrangement indoors for the dancing portion - a lot of setup to do, but he handled it perfectly. He recorded our entire ceremony, from the prelude music to the final recessional, and provided us with a CD of it with a photo of the ceremony overlaid on top before dinner was even over! The transition from the band to Ed was seamless, and he got the party hopping quickly. He worked in the couple of songs we'd requested nicely, and selected the rest of the songs to keep the crowd on their feet for the entire reception. A couple weeks after the wedding, Ed sent us an additional package with another CD of the ceremony and one that contained just the music - it was wonderful to be able to hear it all since the day itself was just a blur of excitement. I'd highly recommend Ed to any brides-to-be, he'll help make your day go smoothly! Thanks Ed!

Ed was great - he was very easy to work with and had excellent suggestions. When it was getting close to the end of the wedding, he discreetly asked me to mark a few songs on our "must play" list that we definitely wanted to hear, which was really appreciated. I would definitely recommend working with Ed.

Ed was a pleasure to work with! Throughout the planning process he was incredibly responsive, understanding when we had a last minute change and even checked in on us as the big day approached. My husband can be a bit picky about music but Ed was able to accommodate all of his requests and really worked with the style we envisioned.

Ed was able to provide a completely wireless setup for our outdoor ceremony and an unobtrusive setup indoors for the dancing, both of which were high quality and provided beautiful sound. Arriving before all of our other vendors he was fully set up in time to ensure everything for the ceremony went smoothly; which it did thanks to his expert timing with the music. He kept the cocktail hour and dinner upbeat and limited his announcements to the important things. During the dancing he was sure to play all of our requests, even checking with me to make sure there wasn't anything that I wanted to hear but hadn't. The music he selected kept all ages on the dance floor all night and really created a party atmosphere without resorting to a single line dance or disco ball.

Not only is Ed incredibly professional and great at what he does, he really was concerned that we have a good time and got what we wanted. His prices might be a bit more than others but in this case you really do get what you pay for - I'd highly recommend him to anyone looking for a classy dj.

Ed was a great DJ. Here is a review I wrote for a soon to be bride who requested feedback about Ed:

"Ed is really really attentive, like you said. You could email him at any point, and he will respond very quickly to almost any request. He also picked music at the wedding that fit us exactly. It was kind of strange how he did that. Also, I wanted to limit Salsa music since not that many people can salsa. He said 'yeah, that is a good idea'. But then everyone got a bit warmer (read intoxicated) and he picked such great music that my English family and my husbands Peurto Rican family were having a conga line together. Suddenly people who didn't know how to salsa were up on the dance floor. He also recorded our vows and all the speeches beautifully. It was a very nice thing to get in the mail a couple weeks later.

Ed does does cost a good chunk of money, but I think he was very worth it. The music sets the tone for the wedding, and you want that to be right. I would definitely recomend him, in short."

Ed was a consummate professional and was a joy to work with. Our wedding day went off without a hitch and his music selections (we only gave him our special songs) were wonderful. We would strongly recommend him to anyone.

Ed provided exactly the services he promised. He arrived with plenty of time to set up, and was happy to work with us to create an echo effect for the live music. He was polite, unobtrusive, and not the typical wedding DJ (in a good way!). Ed kept the dance floor packed. Even my 81 year old grandmother who can't walk for more than 10 feet was dancing. That is a sight I never thought I'd see, and will never forget.

There are only a few things I would change - I would have told him two things 1) make sure all the requests we gave him were played and 2) do not beat-adjust the reception music. I also would have set up another face-to-face meeting so that all of us were more confident about the details. These things got lost in the last minute shuffle.

I also want to make it clear that if we had thought to say anything to Ed about either of these minor issues, he would have changed it immediately - that's just the kind of guy he is. My original lower rating was more a reflection of my feelings, rather than his actual work. When Ed saw my first rating, he immediately contacted me to find out if there was anything he could do to "make things right" - even offering a partial refund. In my book, that speaks highly of his character and demonstrates his commitment to excellence.

What a great company to do business with. Very efficient, friendly and accommodating. I couldn't have handpicked a better DJ for our wedding I have had so many compliments from guests , "best wedding we have ever been to", they say. Thanks for everything!

Ed was not a showy DJ that you often see at weddings. He did exactly what I asked and played the music we requested. He announced and kept things flowing without being overwhelming. He was also very flexible throughout the evening when we got off the schedule I gave him beforehand. Overall, it was the perfect atmosphere!

Ed was incredibly professional while catering to the needs of our wedding. He played a perfect mix of music for multi-generational party. The guests didn't seem to want to leave, which in my mind is the sign of a great party and a great DJ. Ed also has some cutting edge ideas and is one of the most technically savvy DJs in the industry. My wife and I would both highly recommend Ed for an amazing wedding experience.

We were pleased with Ed Whitles at our wedding. He was always available for questions and followed our requested playlist. He played music that fell within the genres of music that we liked. No cheesy wedding music, no line dances, no loud DJ interrupting our reception. No balloons, bubbles, blow-up musical beach toys. We wanted a professional, classy DJ for our wedding and Ed Whitles delivered. He also provided audio for our outdoor wedding ceremony and provided us with an audio recording (CD) of our entire ceremony. His equipment is top-notch (Bose) and is not typical bulky DJ equipment. His sleek equipment fit right into our reception site and was NOT unsightly. We highly recommend Ed Whitles.

Ed was great - he listed to all of our requests and created the perfect song list for the night. We had a Don't Play List that he stuck to completely, despite many guests frequently badgering him about songs they wanted to hear. He also put together a great slide show for us and provided a CD of everthing from the night - including the speeches - for us. We were very impressed with his services and commitment to creating the best wedding possible.

I had a chance to work with Ed on a wedding I shot at Antrim 1844 in Taneytown, MD. He was a true consummate professional. He was one step ahead at all times, from checking to make sure he wouldn't be in the way at the ceremony and reception, to letting me know his cues for the various dances at the reception to providing me a full list of the music played throughout the wedding, Ed was fantastic to work with and I would wholeheartedly recommend him to any couples looking for a DJ.

Ed is great DJ! He plays a great mix of current and classic music and keeps the dance floor pumping. He is unobtrusive, professional and a pleasure to work with!

What a pleasure to work with Ed! He is friendly, charming and personable and knows how to keep the party going! I am most impressed with how Ed goes above and beyond the call of duty; upon request of his bride, he provided us with audio recordings of the entire reception. No one had ever done this for us before! Although this wasn't necessary, it was a very nice option to have and a great safety net for anyone wanting the best possible audio.
