Elements of Elegance Event Planning and Floral

I am not the bride who had her perfect wedding dreamed up since being a little girl, so when I started planning my wedding I knew that (1) I was going to need some help, (2) I wanted that person to understand my personality and my wants and not deliver me an over-the-top wedding extravaganza, and (3) I did not want that person to be a family member as I just wanted everyone to be able to relax, eat, dance, and enjoy my wedding day. Enter Dee Mitchell and her team at Elements of Elegance (who we also hired to be our florist as well). From beginning to end, Dee and her team were nothing short of fantastic. Every step of the way, from deciding on flower arrangements (which was largely done through Pinterest pinnings, since I am clueless with flower names) to finding a new catering when my first one cancelled on me to making sure I had every piece of rental equipment I needed, Dee was there to check off lists and ask questions and make sure that I had all my ducks in a row. More than that, Dee is one of the most warm, loving, and caring people I met along the planning process. I always felt that she was in my corner and that she would go beyond her actual contractual duties to make sure that I had my perfect moment. Without hesitation, I would recommend Elements of Elegance to any future bride.

Dee and her staff did such a fabulous job coordinating our wedding, and the flowers were exactly what I pictured! I wish I could save them forever, so I'm glad I have plenty of photos.:) Dee was right there taking care of the small details and running around. There are things you don't think of appointing someone to take care of so Dee was the one who took care of them. She made our wedding day run so smoothly and deterred any incidents that may have probably happened had she not been there. Can't thank her enough for pulling together our perfect day.

Holly was FANTASTIC!!! We can't say enough good things about her and the girls- She was by far the BEST decision we made in hiring vendors because she was really there the day of the wedding to make sure everything went smoothly and we had nothing to worry about. She truly went above and beyond (times a million) every minute of our wedding day for us. Even when we hit a few bumps in the road (no working sound system in the church and no organist) she stayed calm and rapidly fixed the situation. When I think back to our wedding day I am just SO thankful about our decision to go with Elements of Elegance. Also, we were planning our wedding from a distance and Dee really went above and beyond during the planning process to help us out, which was EXTREMELY appreciated! Holly, Dee and the girls there are absolutely amazing!

Dee took care of our flowers and did an EXCELLENT job! They were beautiful and we got compliments all night! My idea wasn't so much the typical "large centerpiece in the middle of the table" look, and Dee got it immediately. She was very flexible and was also a pleasure to work with. Dee really made my wedding vision come to life!

We can't say enough about Dee and Elements of Elegance. They went above and beyond our expectations in every aspect of their work, and played a huge role in making our day a success. The floral was beautiful, but we didn't expect anything else from someone as talented as Dee! She really took the time to listen to our vision for the day, and then created something even better than we imagined.
EOE also provided day-of coordination for us, which was such a blessing. We had multiple issues with another vendor, but lead planner Sara calmly and swiftly stepped in to address all the problems. Our ceremony and reception ran smoothly and the stellar team at EOE deserves all the credit.

We planned my Lake Michigan wedding from our current home in New York, so we needed some help with recommendations, since it was impossible to meet with all the vendors that we would have liked to. We went back and forth on weither or not we wanted to hire a coordinator, because I was such a hands on bride. In my research I did not find any coordinators as well priced and well-reviewed as EOE. We met with Dee and it instantly convinced my husband that hiring a day of coordinator would be in our best intrest. We hired Elements of Elegance first as our day-of-coordinator, then as our florist. Dee and her team were so great and flexible working with us from a far and meeting us on our few pop-ins to Grand Rapids. We worked with Holly on wedding day, she and her assistants were so helpful and attentive, they kept us from worrying about all the little things we didn't want to worry about on that day. And, even made sure mine and my husband's drinks were filled.

Dee and her team also did our personal flowers, bouquets and boutonnieres. Dee took all my inspiration into consideration (and there was a lot), as well as cost restrictions and found us in-season flowers that looked fabulous. The EOE team understood my vision and FLOORED me with the most beautiful bouquets I could have imagined.

Dee was absolutely AMAZING! She was incredibly helpful and worked along with me to create the floral designs that I had imagined for our wedding day and that we both thought would look amazing. She was always a pleasure to chat with and was a great listener too. Dee was also great at helping me make decisions.

I was literally blown away by our flowers when the day-of came along. They were over and above anything I could have imagined; they were gorgeous, and everyone commented on how perfect our flowers looked and how well they reflected the elegant theme of our wedding. Dee did an excellent job with our flowers and her to the tee organization, creative personality, and amazing attitude were an absolute joy to work with! I would recommend Dee to any of my closest friends and family.

Dee and her assistants were helpful and professional. The assistants, most of whom are college students, are mature and well trained.
Dee was always assessible, helpful and took charge when we wanted her to.
Although we arranged the cake, she made suggestions as to vendors. She also arranged the tents, chairs, etc... it was an outdoor wedding.

There is not enough that I could say about Dee and her team. We wanted an outdoor wedding in my parent's backyard and a reception at a separate venue. Logistically it was a handful for us and it was, as far as we know, a breeze for her. Simply put, she did precisely what we wanted (even though at times we weren't even sure what that was) and made everything easy. I had a lot of people say that there would always be that little thing that went wrong that no one of the guests would notice. Nothing went wrong, everything went the way it should. This is exactly how a bride should feel about their wedding day. I actually miss meeting her and talking and joking around now. Would definitely recommend.

Dee and her staff at Elements of Elegance Event Planning and Floral were beyond helpful. My husband and I hired Dee and her staff to provide all the flowers for our wedding and to be our day before and day of wedding planners. First, I can't even start to explain how happy we were with the flowers. I gave Dee the idea I had in my mind for the flowers, but I don't know much about flowers at all, so she took my idea and ran with it. Our flowers were exactly what I had envisioned and even more so. They were perfect and the day of our wedding her staff used all the flowers to set up our wedding ceremony and reception so beautifully. Second, having Dee and her staff as our day before and day of wedding coordinators was one of the best wedding ideas we had and worth every penny. My mind was at such ease knowing that I had two very competent wedding coordinators assisting me and my groom on our wedding day. We had a few snags in the plans, but the wedding assistance were on top of it before I had a chance to worry or even know about them. I would use Dee and her company again in a heart beat and I felt that she helped make our wedding day the most enjoyable day of our lives so far! :)

Dee was my wedding planner and flourist and she did an amazing job! Dee took our vision and colors and brought them to life. She made sure we were happy with the final product and worked until it was perfect. The ballroom on our wedding day was breathtaking!!! Dee listened to countless voicemails and was very patient with us. Dee was professional and would meet us anywhere to go over wedding details and most importantly budget! She made sure our wedding day went as smoothe as possible. If there were any 'hic-cups' I never knew about them because she had already taken care of it. First off, I'd like to say that I wish I could grant far beyond a 5 star rating for Dee's services. She was the biggest help when it came down to the entire event. Eddie and I love how detail oriented she is and how much care and concern she expressed with all our needs. Dee is one to go above and beyond and not expect more from your wallet while adding stress to your plate. She resolved any wedding stress and/or jitters and help us out with so many odds and ends that you would expect only a close friend or family member would help you out with. Not only was she our coordinator and florist, she became party my family throughout the process. Dee is fun and creative, innovative and compassionate about what she does and cares deeply for her clients. Her confidence is to die for. You can tell that she absolutely loves what she does and loves the people she works with. I have a crazy family who's hard to mold to and she fit right into the scheme of things without any awkwardness or conflict. Dee is by far the best candidate for anyone looking for a coordinator and/or florist. Eddie and I had interviewed so many possible coordinators and so many possible florists and no one seemed to fit what we were looking for. We found Dee and emailed back a forth a few times before we set up an initial interview. She warmly welcomed us into her home office with coffee and lady fingers available to our liking. Mind you we had only initially gone to discuss her florist services, and let me tell you, she knows her work! And damn well, I might add. Her work is art. Photographs can do no justice for the actual in person experience of seeing her work. And when it comes to the coordinating, she was on task and always knew how to handle anything that came her way. It was like she knew what I was thinking before I ever said anything. Dee and her team are perfect at what they do. I highly doubt anyone could even come close in comparison. So if you're looking for someone who can and will cater to your needs as a coordinator and/or florist, skip the annoying interviews and go straight to Dee. There will be no worries of regrets! You will love her, I promise!!!!

Dee is so amazing, it baffles me that any West Michigan bride would choose another florist. She understood exactly my vision for the big day, and did such a lovely job of creating it. Dee went above and beyond when Michigan's spring weather was unexpectedly cool.

Dee was the most wonderful person to work with! Our wedding venue was very DIY so I knew from the beginning that I needed to hire a day-of coordinator. I can't remember how I found Dee, but she was awesome! We emailed back and forth all the time and she gave me advice, suggestions, opinions...anything I needed. She is very responsive both on the phone and over email and never seemed bothered by all my questions.
She came to our rehearsal on Friday night and gave the wedding party, family and I a little pep talk about Saturday and made sure everyone knew what to do. I had met with her 3 times prior to that as well.
Saturday I was away all day getting ready for the ceremony, so I left my groom, groomsmen and Dee with the to-do list: hanging lights on the tent, setting up the dance floor, distributing book pages we did, setting up the escort table, setting up chairs, putting out the ceremony decor, everything! And it was all perfect when I finally saw it that night!
I know our wedding wouldn't have gone as perfectly as it did if Dee wasn't there. She made sure everything was right. And she was willing to have the whole ceremony moved indoors 15 minutes before start time due to the unexpected cold and windy weather!
Our family and wedding party were so impressed with Dee too! They asked me, "How did you find her?!" and just thought she was the best! Dee's husband was also wonderful, helping the guys and Dee get set-up all day!

I whole heartedly would recommend Elements of Elegance to anyone planning a wedding for both floral service and coordination. Dee and her team provided both floral and Day of Coordination Service for our September wedding. We had a largely DIY wedding and I was unsure what help I was needing. Upon our first meeting, I knew Dee was the help that I wanted and needed. She was so warm, kind, and easy to communicate with. She somehow understood our wedding vision so quickly and seamlessly. I left her house with a big smile on my face. Her service throughout the planning process was fantastic and we couldn't have been happier with how everything came together on our wedding day. First off, Dee did an amazing job with the flowers. She created bouquets, bouts, and centerpiece arrangements that captured my visions perfectly and still stayed within our budget. She was very realistic with my inspirations and every flower piece turned out absolutely beautiful with small touches that really made the difference. As for the Coordination, Dee went up and beyond her job as our Day of Coordinator. She communicated so well with us, and we both felt that everything was in line when it came to the day of. Patti and Rachel, two women that currently work with Dee, actually ran the show on the day of and carried out the plans Dee had set in place. I also cannot give enough compliments to these two ladies. They showed up early on our wedding day and went to work. They worked and worked and worked to make sure everything went smoothly. We had a little trouble with the wind for our outdoor reception, but they both took care of what needed to be done and left me without any stress. Elements of Elegance is wonderful to work with. We used them for both of our daughter's weddings this past year. Our daughter's expectations were very different, however Dee was able to give each of them "exactly" what they wanted at a reasonable cost. Her ideas are unique and we received tons of compliments on her work. Would definitely recommend Elements of Elegance for anyone planning a wedding!

Dee was awesome to work with! She read my style right away and just kept the cool ideas coming! She worked really well with our budget and even gave us tips for things we could do ourselves to save on cost. Dee really helped pull all my wedding ideas together. I could not have imagined a wedding without elements of elegance. When we walked into our reception, we couldnt even believe how gorgeous it was. Dee was wonderful to work with. She was always willing to meet, email, or talk on the phone when I had questions or ideas. The first time we met she provided an inspiration board from another wedding that I feel in love with. Through conversation, she was able to find out exactly what I wanted without me even realizing it. She created a whole new idea, mixing the inspiration board along with what she thought I would like. Dee is beyond amazing! I had to do a lot of planning from Washington, DC and she was very flexible. I also had 4 different people in contact with her regarding my wedding which was extremely confusing but she handled it all perfectly. My flowers looked great the entire day and I did not have to worry about a single thing. Dee is also a wedding coordinator and although I did not have one at all, if I did I would have had her. Originally, my husband and I turned to Elements of Elegance with interest in having them provide our bridal bouquets and boutonnieres. We met for a consultation and, after meeting with Dee, we were convinced that we wanted to utilize EOE for not only our bridal party flowers, but for wedding planning services as well.

After meeting with Dee, we were completely comfortable with her and confident in her abilities. The value for cost was incredible; Dee was available at any time and anywhere throughout the entire planning process - from start until after our honeymoon to tie up loose ends.

Dee and her staff provided floral and day or coordination for our wedding. She was amazing to work with from start to finish and made sure that the day was just what we wanted. During planning she was organized and efficent all the while being very personable. She listend to my ideas and gave me exactly what I wanted for floral design. I think that for all that she did for us she was a STEAL. I have recommended her to all of my friends who are planning weddings.

Elements of Elegance Event Planning was worth every single penny and then some. I am a control freak with lots of anxiety (who would want to marry that description?LOL) and Dee ebbed and flowed with all my worries. She was always available for the smallest worries and was ready with a solution to any problem that came our way. We had a short engagement and Elements of Elegance pulled together a wedding that I wouldn't have thought possible in a year! It was absolutely gorgeous and we had a great time throughout the whole process, not just the day of.

Dee is great! She actually runs her business out of her home, so her prices are very reasonable and allowed us to get everything we wanted in our budget. She has professional coolers and everything, so you don't need to worry about her working out of her home. She is so easy going and flexible, we had a great time working with her! She definitely goes out of her way to find the things that you want or to make sure she gets the perfect color for your flowers. Our flowers turned out great - she found the perfect purple Dahlia for my bouquet, the girls bouquets were gorgeous, and the centerpieces were great as well! You can tell she genuinely cares about each couple she works with too - I think I may have gained a life long friend out of working with Dee!

Dee is also a wedding planner, and after our other planner backed out on us, she stepped in to help until we found a new planner. She did this at NO cost to us, despite our many offers to pay her, which was so incredible. She helped to keep me calm during an extremely frustrating time, helped create a detailed timeline for us, since the one from our previous planner left a lot to be desired, and she helped give us new planner referrals as well. She helped us out so much that I don't know how we could ever repay her. There are not a lot of people out there would go this far out of their way for you, and I think this says a lot about Dee.

Dee was very helpful with everything. I only booked her for flowers, but she gave me so much other advice. She was extremely patient and flexible when I continued to make changes and was very responsive and gave me advice as well.

Dee was exactly what my husband and I were looking for. We had most of our planning completed, all we needed was someone to tie up the loose ends and be our Day of Coordinator. Dee provided this and so much more, we couldn't say thank you enough. I would have paid double the price for all of the extra things she did that she did not have to!

I would recommend Elements of Elegance and Dee to anyone. If you are on the fence on if you need a planner or not, please consider her! Not only does it take all of the stress off your back on your big day but Dee's services help make everything perfect!

From start to finish, Dee and her team were amazing to work with. They responded quickly to any and all new items/ issues that cam up. She went above and beyond what I feel any typical planner would do.

The wedding was amazing, but there were many complications. For example, the weather was threatening and we had to bring in another tent. This was handled well. There was a drawbridge delay in a nearby town, and the rental company was unable to get across town with the chairs. Dee made sure guests were not just standing around waiting, and even though the ceremony was delayed many of our guests commented on how great everything was (they didn't really know anything was even wrong).

I would heartily recommend Dee & staff to anyone. Not only was she a planner, but she was also a support system for the stress of planning and preparing for a wedding. My wedding was more than I could have ever asked for, and this was in large part to Dee' s help with the planning and decorations.

Dee, from Elements of Elegance Event Planning was by far one of my favorite vendors to work with. She has so much energy and it is obvious she loves her job. I met with her unsure of what I wanted. I simply told her our style and she came up with exactly what I wanted without me knowing it. Because of my budget, I only wanted flowers for the wedding party and family members. The peonies and orchids were amazing. I asked for a very simple bouquet (on a budget) and Dee actually gave me more flowers because as the bride, she thought I should have a bigger bunch. She takes great pride in her work. She defiantly worked within my budget and gave me more than I ever envisioned. She also gave us flowers to place on the cake. I highly recommend Dee to anyone who wants only the most beautiful flowers!

Dee is so fantastic. She shines in vendor negotiations, overall planning, budgeting, design - there is no doubt she's in the right field!

I was nervous about sitting down with our reception vendors because we had a very complicated (pretty much a logistical nightmare) situation, but Dee made the meeting a breeze by keeping everyone on task, covering all of my concerns, and neogitating better perks for us from the vendor!

She's also just plain fun to be around. As soon as you meet her, you can't help but feel comfortable. Weddings can be so stressful and Dee is an expert at calming nerves and helping you see the big picture.

Working with Dee at Elements of Design was truly the best decision that my husband and I made for our wedding day. Every detail was handled beyond our expectations. There isn't enough words to tell everyone that this made our day PERFECT!!!

Dee helped us with two daughters' weddings, 7 months apart. I don't know how I could have done this without her and her assistants. From the beginning Dee had excellent recommencations of vendors we could use and made many of the calls and arrangements for us. She took care of so much for us, often negotiating better rates. She was encouraging and positive even when we ran into difficulties. So often she would say, "It's all good," and it turned out just fine. On the days of the weddings we were able to relax and enjoy the day, knowing Dee was handling the details and the problems that came up. She reacted quickly to keep our relatives and guests safe when we had a tornado warning (and tornado sighted) during the reception of the first wedding. And prior to the second wedding, we discovered the church's refrigerator malfunctioned, freezing the flowers. Dee had people quickly go buy replacement flowers and she quickly remade all the bouquets and decorations in time for the pictures and the wedding. The flowers were beautiful. I can't say enough about Dee to express my gratitude for how well she handled our weddings and receptions. Her knowledge and expertise are exceptional and her problem-solving skills are excellent.

I would definitely recommend this wedding coordinator! She was very helpful coming up with ideas for us when we had none, offering suggestions but never overstepping her bounds and respecting our wishes. She also did a beautiful job with our flowers and decorations. Dee served as the contact for all our vendors, making sure all the details were set and helped the day run very smoothly. She definitely made the whole process worry free (and has a lot of helpful suggestions!)

I have seen this incredible team in action and was sincerely in awe of the amount of care and attention to detail that they give to their clients. I have worked in conjunction with many planners for weddings and I can honestly say Dee runs her weddings with incredible organization and also grace...a combination that results in a flawless wedding day.
