We really enjoyed working with Elena Rose. We received a lot for our money. We weren't looking for a cheap photographer, since these pictures are very important to us. But we really wanted to feel as though we were getting the best quality we could afford. Elena Rose is very experienced and gracious. She gave us a beautiful album, all our proofs, a CD, an engagement portrait, and she was with us all day. We are very happy we hired Elena Rose to photograph our wedding.

Fantastic photos! Elena Rose helped us to pose in pretty ways, not at all stiff and unnatural. She is a lot of fun to work with, good sense of timing, also very helpful making practical suggestions about the flow of the day. We also received an engagement portrait. Excellent value. Not cheap, but you DO get what you pay for. And in her case, you get more.

What do your packages include?

Do you have liability insurance?

Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?

YES! Additionally, any photo can be ordered in color, B&W or Sepia. Each photo is edited for optimal composition and focus.

Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?

YES! Indoor, outdoor, bright light, low light. In professional photogrpahy, it's ALL about the light.

Is your media preference film or digital?

Mostly digital, but occasionally a client will request film, and I still have my film cameras.

How many photographers do you work with?

one.

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?

Yes.

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?

Only one wedding per day.

Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?

Yes, I network with several professionals and we help each other when necessary.

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?

I bring two of everything, and that means EVERYTHING: 2 cameras, two lenses, two flashes, two brackets, etc.

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?

Yes. I couldn't sleep at night if I went to a wedding under-prepared.

Do you charge hourly or full day?

I have several full day packages, and if they don't suit the couple's needs, we will work together to create a package that does.

Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?

Yes. Standard rate is $200 per hour, including all prints.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?

a couple of short breaks to go to the ladies' room and have my meal. I'm vegan , so I usually bring my own food.

Do you charge for travel?

No charge within the Portland metro area. (20 mile radius)

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?

4-6 weeks

In what format are the initial proofs offered?

Online viewing for couple, guests, family, etc. Couple receives 4x6 laser printed photographs of archival quality, neatly presented in a proof book, theirs to keep.

How long can the client keep the proofs?

Forever. Client owns the proofs.

Do you retain the copyright for the photos?

Yes, but couples can purchase a CD/Copyright package

Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?

I ask permission

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?

Couples can purchase a CD/Copyright package

Will images be available for viewing online?

Yes, password protected, easy to navigate.

What kind of albums do you offer?

Both contemporary coffee table books and traditional albums.

When will the client get the final album?

About 3 weeks after placing the order.

Additional Advice

Elena Rose Photography prides itself on outstanding customer service. This is a valid claim, backed up by many years in the wedding business. This is your special day, and I do all possible to see that you are a happy and smiling from start to finish!

Take advantage of my complimentary consultations a week or so prior to your wedding. We can go over logistical details, timing and special requests. I'm more than a photographer. I'm here to help you. I've been to hundreds of weddings, so please take advantage and brainstorm with me. For example, if you are planning to have a receiving line, have it at the beginning of the buffet, instead of at the end of the ceremony. In this way, your guests stand in line only once. Also, if you are planning an outdoor reception, consider having your gown hemmed at your ankle, instead of having it come all the way to the floor. Since it's difficult to walk on the ground wearing high heels, most brides change into flat shoes or go barefoot. If your gown is hemmed to the ankle, you can make this transition easily and not have to go through the day hiking up your dress.
