Elizabeth Arden Red Door
I booked appointment for wedding hair and makeup for me and several of my bridesmaids at Red Door Salon at Cross Keys in Baltimore, MD. I had a fabulous experience there and would certainly recommend them for their bridal services.
Erica was my hairstylist and she was fantastic! I visited her for a trial and had a few ideas in mind for my hair. I wanted a side updo, with lots of curls and I had a feather hairpiece. Unfortunately I have very fine hair, and Erica said it would be very difficult to get the look I wanted with the little amount of hair I have. She recommended putting extensions in. Immediately I was concerned that this would be very time-consuming and expensive, but Erica said I could buy and bring in my own extensions at Sally's Beauty Supply and she would put them in at no charge because it was part of my wedding day hairstyle! This was music to my ears! I have pretty elaborate highlights so I was concerned about the extensions matching my hair, but she said I could also get them dyed by my usual hair stylist (I don't live in the area) when I get my highlights done. I called Erica before my wedding day appointment with questions and she was always very responsive. I also had two other bridesmaids get their hair done at Red Door, and Erica decided to have another stylist work on them and focus all her attention on me to make sure my hair was perfect -- and it was! It even stayed perfect through the next day! My bridesmaids also looks great and each had an individual hairstyle that represented their personality rather than a cookie-cutter look.
Tara did my trial makeup and wedding day makeup and it was beautiful. I don't typically wear a lot of makeup so wasn't sure what would look good on me, but Tara showed me some techniques that really made my eyes pops, and they are techniques that I am using in my regular makeup routine everyday! Tara also did the makeup for two of my bridesmaids and they looked beautiful and were very happy.
At the risk of sounding conceited, I was beautiful at my wedding. But I have to thank the gals at the Red Door for their magic. Working from a magazine picture I tore out the day before, Jen was able to do the most fabulous up-do on my hair, that stayed in all day and all night - it still looked wonderful at the end of the wedding. My makeup was done with such care and attention that it looked like I wasn't wearing any, but radiated a glow and highlighted all my good features. My husband commented several times on how gorgeous I looked with my hair up and everything...as did many of the guests. Their work made me look like the princess that I was at my wedding!!!! :)
They also fit me in less than a week before my wedding and with no trial run I had to put my faith in them. I wasn't worried a bit and clearly I didn't need to be either!
