Venue and Catering

Erharts, at Fort MacArthur is a beautiful location. The staff was extremely professional and catered to all our needs.

The place is very nice and pretty. Its located on a air force base so every guest would have to show id and be checked in at the entrance of the base. It has an ocean view which is really nice however its pretty far from the actual place. I almost had my wedding here but the catering manager was very inflexible and the customer service wasn't as nice as I would have hoped. She wasn't rude or anything but I was made to feel like THEY were doing ME the favor of having my wedding there on a Sunday. The price was the same on Sunday as on a Saturday and she kept mentioning that she couldn't budge on any price because all her staff would "be working overtime" for it being on Sunday. They charged a lot for extras and I just didn't feel comfortable. Had they been more customer service oriented, i would have stopped looking for a venue, but because of this experience, I kept looking and found another venue that I'm totally in love with.

My father recently retired from the Air Force after serving over 26 years. He had arranged with the company the use of their bar area and made arrangements to decorate, supplement the food bought from the company, and rearrange the room to suit our luau theme. On the day of our event, management went back on their agreements and did not allow for any of the accommodations. They made us transfer our supplementary food across the street to a park area. During the transfer, trays of food crashed to the street. We were also unable to put purchased decorations and fresh flowers in their hall. We were also told that tables should not be moved from their original location. They were very rude and uncompromising. Additionally, I felt disrespected when I overheard the management staff talk behind our backs. I heard them say, Haven't these people thought of having a party that's not so elaborate? Why is that their concern? We paid for their time and service and all we got were rude responses and eyes rolling. The view of this amazing place is not worth the poor customer service you get from this company.
