This guy is a real piece of work!!! If I could give negative starts I would. When he shot our engagement photos, I had a funny feeling, but just disregarded it as nerves and thought he'll do better for the wedding. And when we got our e-photos back and they were only so-so not one had photo processing and retouching. Nothing spectacular AND nothing creative or original! But we had already paid a large deposit we couldn't afford to lose so we kept him for the wedding photos and were completely shocked with what we got!

His work is NOTHING like his photos in his office or website! It was truly a horrific experience with him.

Our wedding package was the smaller of the packages as we didn't need an album and wanted to custom one ourselves from the photos on the disc of pics he would give us. But to hand us 3 boxes of about 800 pictures some in black and white some color all randomly ordered. And the CD is not better. Not to mention the horrible batch job not one was again color corrected.

Then there's the fact that he ignored all of the direction I gave him and all of our previous conversations about what's really important to us. Like, He didn't take pictures of our guests as I specified like a thousand times as they were mostly out of town...I mean countries not just states.

Part from this, I was very disappointed overall with the quality of his work and his annoying mannerisms at our wedding. His rudeness, arguing with the bride and groom. He was my one major regret about our wedding. Don't let this happen to you.

During the wedding he seemed in a rush and in a panic which made me panic and rush. Later, I found out he was having "personal issues" "family issues" JUST MAN UP THEN AND SAY IT WASN'T YOUR BEST WORK AND TRY TO WORK THE THE COUPLE WHO'S WEDDING YOU JUST BOTCHED. His pictures were horrible way worse then the e-pics. How can my e-pics be better then my wedding pics? I was horrified and so was my husband, friends, and family. Even the ladies on here couldn't believe what a terrible job he did.

But whatever you do DO NOT HIRE THIS PHOTOGRAPHER!

As for customer service? HA! If you call yelling at your clients, not returning calls, and calling your clients a bunch of nasty names, etc customer service. I love how at first it was a friend who told him I posted something about him, then it was another vendor, now its another bride and the story continues to change. Brides are more then welcome to see all my posts about my disappointment in my photos. I was honest and posted the truth. I stand by everything I said then and now!

My newest harassment e-mail from him just came in this is what it said: "what a loser!!! show everybody your terrible taste, like the programs on the ugly plastic chairs. then blame the photographer. get psychological help, get a life"

Can we see who's crazy here?

He should have stuck to being a firefighter or whatever because he has no business photographing especially not on such an important day as a wedding.

EDIT: Eric Powell also states he stands by his work from my wedding - then I ask you why does he erase the pictures I posted from my wedding as examples of his work? He also states did his very best. Ladies if thats his very best then more reason to run.

Eric Powell is as creative, professional, and as hard-working as photographers come. I was extraordinarily happy with the work he and his assistant did for us. Any bride would be lucky to have him as her wedding photographer.

Eric was recommended to us by a family friend who hired him as their photographer for three of their children's weddings. He shot my wedding in December 2007 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church and the Beverly Hills Hotel. He also shot our engagement photos about three months before our wedding. We knew then that he would be easy to work with, and our photos would be exactly what we wanted- classy, creative, and top quality.

At our wedding, we was by my side the entire day making sure to capture each special moment without being obnoxious or interrupting the flow of our day with friends and family around. He had a great sense of humor during tense moments which eased my stress, and knew when to be more serious during our long ceremony of a traditional Catholic Mass. He stayed late until the night's end making sure to get all those fun dance shots of our friends letting loose on the dance floor. I felt like he was by our side more than anyone else that day!

When we got the pictures, we were more than satisfied with his work. We had more than enough photos to choose from when creating our wedding album. In fact, we really had to narrow it down and had a hard time setting aside some of the photos that we really liked but knew we couldn't include all of them in our album due to capacity! Many of our family members liked his photos so much that they even ordered many for themselves.

Eric will always be our photographer of choice for life's milestones. We're expecting our first child now, and can't wait to have him shoot our little bundle of joy once he or she is born. We had a wonderful experience with Eric as our photographer, and have developed a friendship with him simply because he was professional, kind, respectful, and very easy to work with. We are lucky to have found him, and now, so are you.

I love Eric Powell and his photography. His assistant Alexis is wonderful too. Eric was recommended to me through my coworker (who also hired him for her wedding). Eric was the 2nd photographer that I interviewed. I booked him on the spot and cancelled all my other photographer appointments. Eric often sees his clients at other weddings because his clients are always recommending him to their friends and coworkers!

Eric told me from the start that he'd take good care of me and he certainly did. He is funny and charming and kept me laughing on the most nerve-wracking day of my life. He even got my stoic-looking parents (who NEVER smile in photos) to laugh and smile for the family pictures too.

When I first saw my wedding pictures, I totally cried because they were so magical and beautiful. As another reviewer mentioned - they seriously looked like they came straight out of a magazine. Eric and Alexis capture every emotion and detail of your wedding day from every angle and in the most beautiful light.

Brides, please take great care in selecting your photographer - it's one of the most important vendors for your wedding. You don't want your bride & groom portraits to look like posed prom pictures! Find someone that you trust and whose work you absolutely adore. It's well worth the effort and investment.

Eric Powell is an amazing talent, and we highly recommend him. Like many of his clients, I too was introduced to Eric Powell Photography through a couple of my best friends who hired Eric as their wedding photographer. Seeing him in action, my fiance (at the time) and I knew that we would want him for our wedding. We are so lucky!

Eric was recommended by friends and photographed my wedding a few years ago. We chose the venue first and I was concerned because it was small and had limited options for where to shoot photos. Also, we had an evening ceremony, so lighting was an issue. Eric told me not to worry, he’d photographed many weddings in the same venue and knew exactly what could be accomplished.

When I got the proofs back I was astounded. They were romantic, dreamlike, magical - everything you would want the photos of your special day to be. Even the family shots were natural looking, not stiff and posed.

My other concern was the album. I’d looked at several belonging to friends and acquaintances to get ideas and I wasn’t impressed with any of them. They all seemed a little cheesy to me. We interviewed many wedding photographers before picking Eric Powell. So many photographers out there try to be so over-the-top that the photos lose their natural beauty. Eric and his assistant were amazing. My sister used Eric as her photographer for her wedding and we loved his work so much that I decided to use him for my wedding as well.
He has a great eye for detail and some of my photos look straight out of a Vogue magazine! I have so many great pictures to choose from that now I am having a problem on which photos to choose for my album!

Two years after my wedding, I still have friends and family telling me that my wedding photos and album are among the most beautiful they've ever seen. We chose Eric Powell to shoot our wedding because we wanted a photographer who could keep everyone loose and relaxed, and would capture OUR personality. My husband and I interviewed nearly a dozen photographers, and we chose him because each of his sample albums seemed to have a uniqueness to each couple, capturing really special and beautiful moments that did not look rigid or staged. We also found the technical aspects of Eric's photos to be excellent. The church where we had our ceremony has very low light, and the photos came out amazingly beautiful and romantic looking. Eric went above and beyond in terms of the photos he delivered AND he was fun and easy to work with.

When it came time to make our album, Eric didn't just pick all the photos like some photographers do. He took a great deal of time with us to help us select about 70 photos from the nearly 800 that he shot. He made us the most beautiful, high quality, traditional-style album that absolutely gives me goosebumps every time I look at it.

My husband and I feel so attached to Eric and pleased with his work that he has continued to be our go-to photographer and recently shot some gorgeous photos of our newborn!

First and foremost, Eric is a very talented and professional photographer and a person with great integrity and heart. I would recommend this photographer to anyone in a heart beat. That is why I find JustAnotherBridezilla's review very puzzling and strange.

Last year, my friend had Eric Powell as her photographer; I was one of her bridesmaids. We all had so much fun with Eric. It was such a cold day, making it challenging to relax for the photo shoot, but Eric made it so much fun that almost made us forget how cold it was. When the pictures came out, my friend was very happy, and I was very impressed. So, when the time came for my wedding this year, I immediately thought of Eric and met with him in his office and saw samples of his work. I was very impressed with his work. But even though I felt Eric was the right photographer, since he was the first and the only photographer I knew, I thought I should meet with a few other photographers, so that I can compare and make an informative decision rather than merely out of impulse. I did. They were all great and professional, but Eric, I thought, was the best by far. His photography was just top notch, and in addition, I believed his great sense of humor could ease the wedding day stress and jitter, as I witnessed at my friend's wedding.

Well, I certainly did make the right choice by having Eric as my photographer. He called a few days before the wedding to touch base and to make sure we were on the same page. Thank goodness he did. As we were going over the timeline for the day, he pointed out several things I hadn't even thought about. Had he not pointed those things out, everything could potentially have been delayed and made a big mess. Apparently, Eric's experience in wedding business stretches beyond just photography. He clearly knows how the day should unfold and sees possible pitfalls, so you can avoid those disasters before they strike on your wedding day.

So, the day finally arrived. We started early in the morning. Eric and his assistant Alexis came right on time. Actually, a little before they were supposed to start and set up everything and surveyed the location, trying to find good spots to take pictures. By 9 which is the time he was due, he and Alexis were all ready to go. I really appreciated that. Just as he was at my friend's wedding, Eric made the photo shoot a wonderful experience. I am normally camera shy, but he made me feel very beautiful and at ease. He is also very funny. My bridesmaids and I laughed so much that we had to check a few times to see if our make-up was still intact. Honestly, Eric and Alexis enhanced the specialness of my wedding day, and I never thought photo shoot could be that fun! All of our families and guests also very much enjoyed taking pictures with Eric. At the end of the day, I was exhausted, of course, but Eric and Alexis kept going, firing away. I don't know how they were able to keep up their energy level... They worked tirelessly all day, yet kept going till the end.

When I received the pictures, I couldn't believe how beautiful they were. Eric made me look really beautiful. I know I had my hair and make-up done which certainly enhanced and beautified me, but he gave us a lot of good suggestions on how to stand, where to place our hands, where to look, reminded us to keep good posture; so it wasn't just a snap shot of us standing. All of his suggestions turned out to be fabulous, and Eric paid great attention to every detail. End result is artistic and fantastic photographs we will cherish for the rest of our lives.

We ABSOLUTELY love the photos and enjoyed the experience with Eric Powell Photography. Eric is not only very professional and talented, but also very thoughtful and helpful. In short, I would recommend Eric Powell Photography to anyone who is looking for a sophisticated level of photography and a talented photographer who possesses great deal of wisdom and who really cares about the bride.

Working with Eric was as good as it gets. From the start, he was cool, calm, and collected. He never pressured when we were talking contract and he helped us find the right package for us and our family.

At our engagement shoot, his easy demeanor took over, completely relaxing my camera-shy husband.

The pictures of the wedding, though. Wow. They completely blew our mind. The colors and the emotions that were captured were just amazing. We knew that the pictures in his portfolio were wonderful and we were thrilled when ours came out just as good.

The whole wedding day flowed easily in Eric's nimble hands. He directed, without being obvious, and listened to our direction when we had it. He was great with the guests, making sure everyone got the pictures taken that they wanted. He helped us create and memorialize all the thoughts and feelings of the day.

When it came time to put together the album, he guided us, helped us pick pictures, and did a fantastic job designing the album.

First off, I am a photographer and have my own business. Eric Powell trained me and I was his assistant and then associate for 10 years and have shot over 100 weddings with him. He not only taught me how to photograph people & weddings but by working with him, he taught me how to interact & connect with my bride & groom. He has an extraordinary ability to put a nervous bride gently at ease (I was one on my day!) or lighten the mood of a tense family with a joke. He is a valuable personality to have around on the wedding day when things can get intense!

His professionalism is unparalleled, and his artistic eye is exquisite. He can take any drab, dark hotel hallway and make a bride look like a fashion model! When he gets to work on the bride & groom's portraits, he works quickly & efficiently. Yet, when we got our photos back, we had so many different poses & settings from which to choose. We could not believe how many options we had for our album!

Once we got our proofs back and made our choices for him to retouch-- we could not believe the ART he made out of the portraits. They were beautiful, and I was so pleased. I would not have hired any one else to capture our wedding day.

Having worked with Eric for 10 years now, I can tell you ladies that he is the hardest working guy around. He spends more of his time working & creating art from the images he shoots than any one else out there. He really goes the extra mile to make everyone happy, and he does his best every time he shoots. He is constantly researching and learning new techniques to be on the cutting edge of his field of work and stays at his office well past normal working hours to perfect every album print and enlargement that is ordered.

I think he is absolutely hands down the very best photographer for weddings, from the initial meeting with him, to the wedding day, to the months after when you sit down with him to pick out your album photos, to the final, amazingly beautiful album at the end. Its a wonderfully pleasant and fun experience to work with him!
