His personality matched ours pretty well. We told him that we were looking for clean classic shots and some candid shots mixed in. His second shooter was also great. They were very cool about everything. They blended with the night and didn’t make me feel like I was in paparazzi land.

I was referred to Erich by a friend who went to the same college as him. Upon looking at his website, I completely fell in love. I thought his style of photography perfectly matched me and my husbands. I enjoyed seeing how his photographs portrayed a story about the couple. It was clean and fresh. I immediately emailed him about his prices and packages. I must have looked at his website a hundred of times before meeting with him. When we met him I thought all three of our personalities blended. We had a lot in common and we thought Erich was one of those unique people you don’t get to meet often. He was willing to work with us on what we wanted for our package. Of course we booked him. We loved our engagement pictures. We were able to use the pictures in a book, use it for our save the dates, and play the pictures for a slide show during our wedding reception.
During the photo shoots Erich has a way of capturing the natural interaction between people. I’m not going to say because I wouldn’t want to give his secrets away. You’ll have to book him to find out. He is the easiest to get along with. You can tell that he is passionate about his work and truly loves capturing people during important moments of their life. I would definitely recommend Erich to a friend. Well actually, my friend booked him after our engagement pictures and he gave us additional pictures for our wedding album for the referral. After the wedding he sends out the pictures in a timely manner. He sends out a CD that is enclosed in a very professional case with a picture of us on the front. It is great that he gives us a copy of the pictures because we did so many things with them.

Over the years Todd and I have had the pleasure to watch Erich capture some of our closest friends’ most important moments (Engagements, Weddings, Pregnancies, Baby, and Family Photos) but it wasn’t that he just “captured” the moment; it was the fact that their special memories came to life in truly magical ways under Erich’s direction. It was an easy decision, when it came for Todd and I to choose our wedding photographer, for we were lucky enough to be let in on the best secret from so many of our friends---the talent that is Erich Chen Photography.

Honestly, Todd and I approached our 1st photo session with Erich, which was our Engagement Session, with some nerves for we both had not been in front of the camera in a long time. I look back and laugh at how unnecessary it was to feel that way. Erich has a really calm energy when he is working that is infectious. His direction, demeanor, and personality quickly put Todd and I at ease. The results of our Engagement and Wedding photos are extraordinarily beautiful, unique and truly exceptional.

Erich’s creativity, innovation, and originality as an artist is what sets him apart from other photographers. In my opinion a lot of wedding photographers take standard, unimaginative, and cheesy photos. They always seem to showcase awkward wedding poses that do not represent the couple’s personality or the bridal parties’ for that matter as well. Erich’s photos are organic, real, and genuinely represent who you are as a couple. This is where the magic comes in: Erich’s eye. His artistic ability is truly inspiring and one to watch. He is not afraid to live outside the box, and that is what is so refreshing to see in an artist.

I strongly encourage anyone who is looking for a photographer to delve deeper into Erich’s photos--for they speak volumes. Todd and I received numerous compliments and continue to whenever someone runs across them. Where do I begin?? I first fell in love with Erich Chen's Photography through his website. I took one look and knew I had to have him for our wedding. I'm not a very artistic person myself, but there was something so powerful about his photos... they really make you FEEL something. Best decision we could've made. Erich is so incredibly talented and passionate about what he does and it shows! He gets these visions inside his head and and is actually able to bring them to print. We learned to trust him within one minute of our engagement photo session. He's so incredibly easy to get along with; we felt like we were working with someone we had known for years. He really has a way of putting you at ease and capturing the true beauty of those candid moments. You wouldn't believe how many compliments we received on Erich's photography.... we had family members and friends asking how we found him and how much he cost. We hired Erich as our wedding photographer in June 2011. It was a destination wedding for us and all I needed to do was talk to Erich once on the phone to know that he was the perfect photographer for us. As you'll be able to tell from his website, he is extraordinarily talented with a camera...just as several of the other photographers we looked at were. What the other photographers were not, however, was Erich - a really sincere person who wanted to get to know you, your future husband, and capture your day as best as he could.

On the day of, I gave Erich a lot of reasons to get annoyed at me about, but he took it like a champ and made things as stress free for me as possible. I feel extremely blessed to have had the opportunity to get to know him and definitely feel like I've made a great friend.

Erich is an amazing photographer that captures the most appropriate moments! These moments signify who you and your future partner are as a couple! I was amazed at his professionalism, his humor, his kindess, and CREATIVITY!! We had a destination wedding and a very unique engagement session! Erich was able to meet all our strange requests! We wanted to take engagement photos in our traditional vietnamese/korean outfits, and he came up with the idea to go to this amazing temple! The photos turned out GREAT! Even more so, we had SO MUCH FUN! When Erich flew into Hawaii, he immediately called us up, to let us know he was in town, READY TO GO! Erich was there from the beginning to the end of every important wedding detail. He transfers ideas beautifully into your photos. One thing i REALLY loved about his photos is the overall "look". Many photographers overly airbrush or photoshop photos through the computer to make it look "better".. so much so that it is too obvious! Erich does NOT do this. He is so talented that I still cannot find a photo that seems "photoshopped" or even "airbrushed". (and we ALL LOOK GREAT!!!) I cannot express how much we LOVED him. My best friend is already booking him for her wedding! you will NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!

Erich is an amazing photographer and so easy to work with! We did a trash the dress photo shoot with him. Since my husband is in the air force we found the perfect location at a plane museum.

My husband hates taking pictures and dreads the idea of spending time with a photographer and posing. However, Erich was so funny and easy going that he actually enjoyed the photo shoot we did. Erich was professional, has great composition, ideas, and is able to capture moments with just a few shots. We had so much fun working with him. He is able to tell through the lens when you feel uncomfortable and coaches you through it.

After we took the pictures the turn around was so fast I was amazed. He had some of his favorite shots edited in days and the editing was perfect. Not to much but brought out the best in the picture. The quality of the pictures are magazine worthy!! I submitted our photos to Military Spouse and in 10 minutes got a response from the editor who gave us two entire pages in the May 2010 wedding issue. I also received the CD of all the pictures in no time!!

I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Erich as a photographer and would hire him to take pictures for all the important milestones in my life. I have recommended him to all my friends who are getting married. He has talent, professionalism, humor, quality, and great turn around time.

Ok, I know giving a photographer 5 out of 5 stars five times in a row seems rediculous, but with Erich Chen, that is exactly what we got at our wedding. He is very personable and professional but most importantly, TALENTED. Erich's pirctures really speak for themselves, but when you throw in his friendly personality and dedication to satisfy his customers with the images he captures, you really feel like you're getting your money's worth. The photos you get are not bland repetitive shots taken over and over again in the same style. Erich's versatility brings forth photos ranging from glamour model-like photos, to the traditional style posed photos, spontaneous photo-journalist-like moments captured, to abstract artistic shots that'll you'll fall in love with. We were so pleased that we chose Erich to shoot our wedding, and when we look back at our pictures that he took we feel like we're there all over again. To this day (2 years later) people still tell us how amazing are wedding photographer was.

Erich Chen is an amazing Photgrapher. One of the greatest things I appreciate about his work is the uniqueness of his photographs. When I compare my photos to others he has done, there are never the same poses. He likes to get to know his clients before he shoots them so the photos take on unique personalities. We had so much fun taking our photos - especially during the trash the dress shoot - AMAZING WORK.

Erich is an aspiring wedding and fashion photographer who is just about to go pro if he hasn't already done so. He is my childhood friend who I helped get his first few wedding photography gigs so he did my wedding for free. He's really easy to talk to and work with. Since he's at the beginning of his career, he isn't charging super high professional prices yet so you better hurry up and snatch him up! He also has many, many friends who are excellent photographers as well if you're wanting to have a second shooter at your wedding.
