Hiring Melissa and her assistant, Maureen, through Et Lofte Events was one of the easiest and best decisions we made. Melissa was incredibly helpful, informative and supportive throughout the planning proceess, and both Melissa and Maureen were beyond helpful on our wedding day. We would recommend their excellent, professional services to anyone who wants to relax on their day and not worry about what is happening behind the scenes. Worth every penny!!

Meeting Melissa for the first time - I knew she was exactly the type of person I wanted to be my day of coordinator to ensure everything went smoothly - someone smart, confident, organized and in control - it also helps that she is such a sweetheart! Even before the wedding day, Melissa was great in helping me out with planning, especially when I had a little crisis in finding a new wedding photographer.On the day of Melissa and her assistant, Jennifer, were absolutely fabulous - helping out at the venue, at the photo location and also help me with my dress! Helping me with my dress was no small feat - tying up the corset back with modesty panel and later on tying up the 5 point French bustle took a LOT of effort. And thank goodness for her emergency kit too - I got a mosquito bite (in October! It could only happen to me!) and luckily Melissa had After Bite in her kit so I was able to not be driven insane by the itchiness all night long.It was a wonderful feeling on my wedding day to be able to relax and be assured that everything was going according to plan thanks to Et Lofte Events.

Et Lofte Events has a team of 3 and always works with a minimum of one assistant per wedding or event. The need for additional assistants is determined by the size and nature of the event.

Et Lofte Events can cater to any style of wedding, however we are best known for our ability to create unique, personalized weddings.

Do you support or cater to any specific religions?

Et Lofte Events caters to any religion.

Et Lofte Events has coordinated weddings that range from 45 guests to 600.

Additional Advice

1. ARE YOU CERTIFIED? IF SO, BY WHOM?Yes. In fact, I am certified by and an instructor with the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada.So often, someone plans a friend’s wedding or even their own and then deem themselves as a “wedding coordinator”. While 80% of wedding planning is natural talent, creativity and quick thinking, there are certain skills and knowledge that do not come as a natural ability.I also regularly participate in wedding planning conferences and event-planning seminars to keep up-to-date with the latest trends, skills, policies, etc.2. DO YOU ACCEPT REFERRAL FEES OR COMMISSIONS FROM VENDORS OR SERVICES?Absolutely not!!! Et Lofte Events only recommends vendors or services to their clients based on their merit! As a wedding planner I have an obligation to my clients to seek out or recommend those vendors who will provide the best quality of product and/or service to clients based on those clients’ needs.Et Lofte Events refuses to accept referral fees or commissions as I strongly believe in choosing the best vendors for my events because they are the best at what they do, not what I can get out of it.3. DO YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY KIT?Of course! Emergency Kits are a wedding planner’s secret weapon against the unexpected.Don’t confuse Emergency kits with first-aid kits as they are so much more than that. You can tell a lot about how prepared a wedding planner will be for your wedding day by taking a peek at the extent of their emergency kit. From tide-to-go to fishing wire, this baby has it all! If a wedding planner mentions that he or she has an emergency kit, ask to see it. You’ll be in for a treat! I always enjoy giving clients the “grand tour” of my emergency kit!4. DO YOU HAVE STAFF OR A BACK-UP SYSTEM IN CASE YOU BECOME UNAVAILABLE ON OUR WEDDING DAY?Et Lofte Events has never become unavailable for a wedding that I had coordinated or been hired for. However, in the event that this extremely rare situation were to occur (due to extenuating circumstances of course), Et Lofte Events has assistant coordinators in its roster who can take over and also belongs to a large network of certified wedding coordinators – all of whom are just as highly skilled and just as ready to spring into action. 5.. YOU WORK WITH ASSISTANTS. IS/ARE YOUR ASSISTANT(S) CERTIFIED COORDINATORS AS WELL?Absolutely. My entire staff is made up of certified wedding coordinators. 7. MY PARENTS SAY A COORDINATOR IS A WASTE OF TIME AND THAT THEY AND MY BRIDAL PARTY WILL HELP ON THE WEDDING DAY. CAN’T I JUST GET THEM TO DO EVERYTHING?Of course your family and friends will want to help you out! After all they want you to enjoy your day! However, you want them to enjoy their day as well.You want to enjoy your wedding day with them and not have them running around doing errands for you or worrying about the big and small details. So many special moments can be missed when you’re fixing a centerpiece, calling the caterer, setting up a hall, constantly checking the schedule, etc. and you want them to experience every moment with you. You have put so much effort into planning such an amazing celebration so that your loved ones (and you!) can enjoy it. 8. DAY-OF COORDINATION SEEMS A BIT PRICEY FOR JUST ONE DAY. HOW CAN I JUSTIFY THAT COST?Consider this: How much are you paying for your DJ for one day? How much are you paying your photographer for one day? How much are you paying for your limousine for one day? Are their prices worth it? Absolutely! Now consider what a day-of coordinator costs and what they do. Day-of coordinators manage the entire wedding not one part of it. They ensure the day is running on schedule, they ensure that your vendors arrive on time and perform as they should. They tend to any problem -- no matter how big or small -- and deal with it often without anyone knowing there was a problem to begin with. They ensure that every plan that you’ve put into place is as it should be and ensure that you will enjoy your day. Considering the amount of money you have put into your wedding to make it as beautiful and as enjoyable as possible, is it worth the money to ensure all these plans happen flawlessly?The answer is yes.
