I actually considered becoming a wedding planner myself due to my detail-oriented personality and love for weddings. I thought for my own wedding, the planning process would be perfect and fun.. WRONG. I worked with Megan, AKA my "life saver". She is amazing and will think of the tiniest details that you would have never considered but will make a huge difference. My entire wedding party and family commented on how amazing Megan was. My husband and I agree that if we did not have her on our wedding day, it would have ended in tears.
We had an outdoor wedding, with no rain plan. WELL, it rained... big time. Tornado warnings and all. Trust me, when you are in the white dress with your hair and makeup done and all of the planning is behind you.. you will not have the strength or patience to make any last minute decisions. Our entire timeline had to be changed last minute due to the huge storm, and we walked away from our wedding day happier than ever with how it all turned out. We even had several comments made about how it was the "best wedding" people had ever attended.
Again- do not second guess the need for a planner or day-of coordinator. Megan is professional, flexible, responsive, tough (in a good way- which you want!), and sweeter than pie all at the same time. My husband and I joke about her fan club that we plan to start!

Our wedding was 3 months ago (May 19th-- sorry it took so long to write a review!) and took place in my parents' backyard. Our vision was to keep it small, but my parents wanted to invite a lot of their family. Long story short, the compromise was to have a very small intimate ceremony in the morning, then the larger reception in the evening. Vicky and Event Accomplished literally made our dream wedding come true. I can't say enough about how thoughtful, organized, prepared, down to business she is, and relaxed she made us feel during the whole process (not to mention how personable she is). We didn't have to worry about a SINGLE thing, both the days leading up to the wedding and of course on the big day. We hired her as a "day of" planner, but she seriously went above and beyond all expectations. She met with us several times beforehand, was always available via phone or emails, made herself available during the tent delivery/ set-up of everything. She developed this timeline/ checklist that made us think about every little detail, and helped prepare to make things run smoothly. She even helped with the coordinating the decorations. I can't even count the amount of times my parents said "thank goodness for Vicky!" throughout the entire wedding weekend. After saying yes to my proposal, hiring Event Accomplished is the single best thing we could have done to have our perfect day :-)
Event Accomplished provided the perfect level of wedding coordination for us. We were able to tailor a coordination package that was well suited to our tastes for doing some of the planning, but not all, on our own. Vicky Choy was an excellent coordinator, who had a business-like approach that instilled a lot of confidence in her ability to get everything done. She kept us on track prior to the wedding, and provided a lot of useful advice along the way. On the day of the wedding, Vicky worked tirelessly--dealing with everything from the last minute threat of rain to keeping track of numerous personal items incorporated into the ceremony. We couldn't have done it without her, and we know that Vicky was a key reason that people are still raving about what a good time they had. Hire Event Accomplished--you won't be sorry!
Vicky from Events Accomplished was amazing. We used their day of the wedding coordination service and got so much more. I had assumed that a day of the wedding coordinator would only really become involved the month before the wedding and just help with the day of organization. But Vicky came to many of my vendor appointments to help me pick out the linens and flowers in order to maintain a fluid theme throughout the wedding decor. She worked with my photographer and DJ to design a time line that everyone was on board with. She was always available to talk and brought up points that I had not thought of. As wonderful as all of that was, she really shined at the wedding ceremony and reception. She not only kept me and the wedding party happy and within our time line but she was also there to make sure every guest was comfortable and in need of nothing. She is polite, organized, punctual, and has a wonderful sense of humor that will put you at ease. Every guest said that it was the best wedding they had ever attended and for those who interacted with Vicky (she was good at staying behind the scenes unless otherwise needed) are still telling me how much they liked and appreciated her assistance.
We worked with Megan from Event Accomplished. We met with three other coordinators before we met Megan. She blew us away from the first time we met her. She was so organized, prepared, experienced and confident. Megan was flexible with meeting times, on the weekend or evenings during the week. She would drive all the way out to our house to meet with us. She helped facilitate communication with my other vendors when they weren't being communicative. I was really able to enjoy the week leading up to the wedding and leave everything to her. She took care of all the last minute stuff and bringing everything to the venue and setting everything up. She brought lunch for me and my bridesmaids on the wedding day and set it up in our hotel room. She drove all over that week leading up to the wedding dropping off mason jars at the florist, gift bags and the hotels, buying little pumpkins to decorate the reception with. All the things that would drive you crazy that week of the wedding, she took care of. She ran the rehearsal like a professional even though my celebrant was trying to run it as well. Day of the wedding she was there every step of the way, but not in an obtrusive way. I have been at some weddings where the coordinator is yelling at guests and herding people like cattle. That did not happen with Megan at all. We only had about 5 hours to do the whole ceremony and reception and she made sure we got through everything in a timely manner without being pushy. Our wedding was absolutely perfect and I credit that to Megan.

It's hard to know where to begin! I met Vicky only after my mother had met with her and before I was sold on the idea of having a wedding planner. I knew we would need help the day of the wedding but thought that we could take care of everything else in advance. In hindsight, I'm thrilled that my mother didn't believe me, and I only wish that we had engaged her earlier in the planning process.
Vicky was incredibly patient, understanding, direct, attentive and professional. She helped me find a replacement DJ at the last minute, advised on where we could make things easier and where we needed to put more or fewer resources, gave great tips on some of the D.I.Y. elements of the wedding, and was generally a great sounding board for some of the ideas and issues that came up during the wedding.
Specifically, Vicky's timeline for the event and templates for planning was really helpful in not only making sure everything was covered, but in allowing us to feel like all of the details were taken care of and we could just relax and enjoy ourselves.
The wedding day was perfect, I felt completely taken care of and really present -- I remember everything! -- because I could focus on the parts that were important to me and trust that Vicky was taking care of the details.
We interviewed about 6 Day of Coordinators before meeting with Vicky. Some of the others seemed too nice, and we were looking for someone who could potentially be tough with vendors. Vicky had the right combination: pleasant and accommodating to us, but business-like and focused. I loved how she described her role: she wasn't there to be my new best friend, she was there to help us get our wedding done. Vicky's contract called for her services to begin about 2 months out, but since we had hired her about a year before, I periodically sent her e:mails asking her advice on some questions. She was accommodating in helping me out, even though it was beyond her scope of duties at that point. Once we got inside 60 days, I had no problem bugging her regularly and she was responsive to my questions. The biggest value she provided to us: helping us figure out how to make our timeline work. She gave us great suggestions. For me, she was a good sounding board, helping me think through options on everything from musical selections to escort cards. I think my fiance particularly liked that Vicky was willing to do that, because he didn't have much patience with the various decision-points.
As a sign of how reliable she is, we met with her mid-summer, in the midst of one of Pepco's great power outages in Montgomery County. Traffic lights were out all over the place, and she showed up right on time.
Two days before the wedding, one of our guests cancelled and I sent her an e:mail to let her know. I didn't even bother to check in with her, because I knew she had it handled.
Our wedding day went completely smoothly. Our guests raved about how well everything flowed together. She helped me out with some small tasks prior to the wedding and did everything she promised. When I got to the venue, it was great having Vicky there because I knew she'd handled any problems that came up. We hadn't originally planned on having a Day of Coordinator - my husband and I are both glad we did!
I cannot give enough praise to Event Accomplished and Megan Farris.

WOW, and I glad we did it.
Megan was a true professional. She was organized, accessible, communicative and much more. We booked her day of coordinator package, and she did so much more for us than expected. We had several meetings, including a walk through of the venue.
She provided us with timelines, checklists and ideas. She made sure I did everything I was supposed to do in the time I was supposed to do it.
She communicated with all of my vendors and I didnt have to do anything with them in terms of scheduling or day of logistics.
On the day of the wedding, she kept us calm and on time. I didnt have to worry about anything except walking down the aisle, getting married and having a great time!
Several members of the wedding party commented on how wonderful she was to work with and how she kept everything running smoothly, as it should.

I met Vicky when she was volunteering at Brides Against Breast Cancer in March 2007. She impressed me with her candor, professionalism and intelligence. I took her card although I note she never tried to sell me on her services she was there to volunteer pure and simple. I called Vicky a year later when we finally had a wedding date and hired her for her day off package but I feel that I got so much more that that! She gave me recommendations on vendors, went with me to visit Party Rentals to pick out linens, joined us in our meeting with the golf club event manager to discuss logistics (her inputs were very helpful) and created the most amazing, detailed timeline of the wedding day that impressed me and ALL of my vendors. The best compliment that I can give Vicky is that ALL of my other vendors reception caterer/golf club manager, photographer, band, florist, videographer, make-up artist all commented on how organized and intelligent she was. I just think she made all of our lives easier. The week before and day off my wedding I did nothing but focus on the occasion, my fiance and me wedding. I did not speak to any of my vendors and they did not need anything from me. She took care of absolutely everything and everything went smoothly. It was fantastic day. Vicky also took care of little things that turned out to be a big help. She packed up all of my table cards, cake knife, presents, etc. Also I was very sad that I forgot to eat a piece of cake and that I misplaced my seating card for my scrap book which said Bride. Low and behold Vicky saved us the top tier of cake (although I told her I was not keeping it and it was to be served) and found and packed up my seating card!! Hiring Vicky was one of the best decisions I made. I enjoyed my wedding so much more knowing she was in charge. LOVE HER.

Vicky was my wedding planner, and I really can't say enough about her. Let's just start from the beginning...
I interviewed two planners, and I knew I wanted Vicky right away because I was confident that she could get the job done. She didn't want to be my best friend--she wanted to help us achieve the wedding of our dreams while staying under budget.
When we were deciding on what services we wanted her to take care of, she showed us this very detailed list of services, kind of like an a la carte menu. We wanted to keep our wedding planner services at $3000 I think, and so we basically picked and chose which things we wanted her to do. SO SIMPLE. No negotiating necessary. (I HATE negotiating!)
After that, she made it feel like our wedding was the only wedding she was working on, even though she had several that summer. Such attention to detail, with a balance of her suggestions and getting our input so that it would still be our wedding.
She responded to emails and calls right away, and she was at least 15 minutes early to every meeting. She was honest and straightforward about what she thought were bad ideas, which made us trust in the things that she was excited about and thought were great ideas.
Vicky just has so much experience that--really--every little tiny detail was taken care of, so that on the day of our wedding, all we had to do was get our hair and makeup done and show up at the wedding. (My husband and the groomsmen were actually bored the day of our wedding!) The weeks before the wedding, my friends--who know that I get stressed out managing dinner reservations--were amazed to see me so stress-free!
Lastly, and maybe I should've opened with this, as soon as we booked all of our vendors, I knew that the cost of having Vicky as our wedding planner paid for itself. The money and time we saved using Vicky's contacts (especially DJ, caterer and florist) was significant. SIGNIFICANT.

After interviewing over 10 wedding coordinators, I selected Vicky Choy as my day of coordinator. I appreciated the fact that she is a full-time wedding planner and has a background in project management. She also has a passion for the business and takes her reputation in the industry very seriously. In addition, her personality meshed well with mine and I enjoyed her no-nonsense honest approach. From day one, working with Vicky was a pleasure. Throughout my wedding planning process, Vicky was able to keep me on track with my scheduling, she offered honest advice, planning tools and and she came to my rescue when I encountered a vendor emergency. Vicky was a referral from my friend's wedding and she was one of the best decisions I made during the wedding planning process. I am a project manager for an IT firm so I understand the importance of dates and being organized and Vicky complemented me very well and I completely trust her through the process. Everyone told me the week of the wedding that I was too relaxed and I just told everyone that everything was pretty much done and I had my wedding coordinator. In taking care last minute details, she helped me in making sure I had all the i's dotted and t's crossed. She also helped consulted me on design and wedding questions. She was very responsive and I could get a hold of her at any point of time to ask any type of questions - even if it was small or frivolous. The day of the wedding, it couldn't have gone any smoother. I didn't have to worry about anything. After the wedding, she did mention a few items that went slightly awry which I had no idea of. She made sure I was doing okay throughout the wedding.

I have nothing but praise for Vicky. She met with us several times before the wedding (even though we had only purchased 'day-of' services) and was very organized and professional. Her price was extremely reasonable, and she even brought along a helper on our wedding day--something I definitely hadn't expected for the price.
Vicky was fabulous! My husband and I both come from large families and she pulled us all together beautifully! We really couldn't have done it without all of her help. Her pre-wedding meetings with us were so helpful to keep us on track. And her scheduling was so flexible! We met at our apartment every time so that we never even had to deal with DC area traffic! And on the day of the wedding, I never worried about a thing because Vicky and her assistant were running around getting everything done for us. If I had to do it all over again, I would have involved Vicky earlier on in the process! She was fab-u--lous!
We hired Vicky from Event Accomplished to coordinate the day of our wedding, after realizing that there was no way that we could deal with our vendors and still get ready for our big day. Vicky's professionalism and organizational skills exceeded our expectations. Even when my hsuband forgot the taps for the kegs less than an hour before the reception, Vicky didn't panic. She had her assistant run out to get replacements and I was just able to laugh about it later. We couldn't have done it without her!
Vicky was amazing and I highly recommend her. My FI dragged his feet on this decision (actually he totally put his foot down and said no to start). However after attending a friend's wedding where we ran around a lot and ended up setting things up etc, he relented. He now even says that this was the best money we spent. It was so worth it to not have to worry if everyone was at the church or if cocktail hour was set up or if my cake was there or to clean up at the end of the night and pack up all our stuff. We were even short one bout and she made one out of my toss bouquet - I doubt the groomsmen could have figured that one out on their own. She really helped me stay sane that day. Also all the meetings before the big day really helped me plan everything out and not be stressed that I forgot anything - she had it all covered.
Deciding to hire Vicky was one of the best decisions I made in the planning process. Because I knew she was taking care of everything, I was able to relax and enjoy my wedding day despite bad weather and traffic delays which put us severely behind schedule. Vicky was also right there to pin my bustle up when my husband accidently stepped on it during our first dance and ripped it out. She was the first vendor I saw in the morning and stayed to the very end even giving us a ride back to the hotel. I really, could not recommend her enough.
