Evoke Photography and Video

We needed a photography 3 days prior to our event due to photographer problems! Evoke was not only available but our photographer, Theo, was willing to be flexible and creative! We loved him and appreciated his sweet temperament!

Jay was our Evoke photographer. He did an amazing job juggling all the family photo requests, capturing unexpected moments, and blending right in! He came early and left late to make sure he captured our special day. Best of all, the photos were gorgeous...the "bring tears to your eyes, remember forever" kind of gorgeous. Book Evoke for your wedding, you will not regret it!

Al with Evoke was our photographer. He was with us the whole way--Engagements, Bridals, Wedding Day (for 11 hours). He did a great job the entire time!! He has a great attitude and know how/what to say to get everybody excited for pictures. We are very happy with his service and would recommend him and Evoke to any couple!

I had the same photographer for my engagement photos, bridal photos and wedding. He was great, my picture are beautiful.

I loved my photographer!!! He was amazing with everything that he did. We went for a Alice in Wonerland theme engagement session and he nailed it! Then he did exactly what I wanted with my bridal portraits. I have yet to see my wedding day pictures but from what I have seen that people took they are going to be amazing. My photographer had such an eye for everything :) I love details and candid pictures and that is what he does. Everything they do is wonderful. I loved working with him he made all of the pictures so much fun. My husband also loved him and thought he did am amazing job. Even my father thought he did a great job and believe me that is saying a lot. I know we got a ton of pics that are awesome of our wedding because at the end of the night our photographer was pouring sweat from running around everywhere. HE ROCKED!!!

Tina with EVOKE photography was great. We did engagement photos, bridal portraits and the day of the wedding. So far all the pictures we've seen are perfect. I have no complaints! Tina was amazing and knew how to take great pictures!!

Tambi did a great job as our photographer. We have so many pictures from our wedding day that we absolutely love. They also did our engagement session too, and Tambi helped us get pictures of us with our dogs as well. The album came out beautifully as well, we were just so thrilled!

I cannot even begin to describe how wonderful Evoke was. Throughout the whole wedding process we were stunned by the quality of service and products. Our package included engagement, bridal and wedding photos. Evoke worked with us to get our dogs in our engagement photos and gave us credit for the Bridal setting towards our wedding photos and album. We also got our digital negatives for free. The quality was superior to any photographs I've seen from my married Friends, we made the best choice for the money and for the service. I send everyone I know to Evoke.

My photographer was wonderful!! She did my bridal portraits which came out beautiful. I have the most amazing pictures of our wedding. She was wherever we were. She got pictures that I would of never of thought! I am so happy she was there to catch every amazing moment on our special day! I could have not asked for better. Trust me you will thankful for choosing evoke as your photographer. Every special moment will be kept forever when using Evoke. Thank you so much Evoke!

We booked Evoke after being referred to them by Lisa at Sweetwater Country Club. We worked with Al for our engagement shoot. He is very nice, great at getting a genuine smile out of you and fun to work with. He had a lot of creative ideas and you can tell he knows what he is doing. He wasn't afraid to get down on the ground to get a good shot. They had our pictures posted for viewing on the internet in less than a week! Kenzie was our photographer for our wedding, right from the beginning our personalities meshed very well. He called a few days before the wedding and went over everything in a lot of detail. He is a complete sweetheart. If you want something specific just tell him he will get it! He was very open to doing whatever we wanted. He took so many pictures. He also blended very well into the crowd and I barely noticed him. Our guests did comment that he was clicking away all night. And boy did he take a lot of photos!! He is very easy to work with. Our pictures were posted online in two weeks! We were able to choose our photos and order our album right away as well. They have been a pleasure to work with.

Everything went so well with our photographer. He was very receptive & used our entire photo list. We found him very laid back & easy to work with. The only thing was the office staff sometimes would not pass along messages or perhaps got lost. There can be better communication with the administrative staff.

Evoke is a wonderful company to work with. From the time my husband and I went into the studio to discuss our wedding plans down to the final pics, everything was really great. I loved Al who did my bridal portraits and our engagement photos. Although he was not our photographer for the wedding, Tina did an amazing job as well. I was also very impressed with Jamie who spent over an hour with me helping me set up our wedding album exactly to my liking. I also have to thank Marissa for answering any questions I had. The only reason I did not give Evoke 5 stars was because my husband and I both understood that we would own the rights to our pictures when we received the CDs with all of our pictures on them. Due to the amount of money we paid to Evoke, we thought for sure that was included and don't recall anyone ever correcting us because we are sure we asked this question. Overall, our experience with all of the staff at Evoke and the quality of our pictures was phenomenal. Thank you Evoke for making our wedding day so special!

I"ll start with the one drawback, which is that they are one of the few photographers I saw that do not include rights to the images with your package. Our engagement photo shoot was a little rocky, our photographer showed up an hour late to an outdoor site in August, but Weihan (not at the engagement shoot) was absolutely fantastic at the wedding ceremony and reception. He adapted the shots to our ceremony and reception sites, and created some very fun, and beautiful photographs. The candid shots that he took at the reception are absolutely fabulous, and everyone looks great in them.

Very professional during the wedding and reception. Took lots of pictures. So many good pictures hard to make the final picks for the album. The only problem we had was setting up appointments for engagement and wedding portraits. Not really Evoke's problem because of the Bride's work schedule. But everything turned out fine and got some beautiful pictures.

My husband and I were pleased with the service Evoke provided for us. Very friendly, flexible and courteous company. We had to re-schedule some of our appointments, but they were understanding and they worked around our schedules. Prices are reasonable and you can't go wrong purchasing the copyrights of your photos!

wonderful, good people to work with, great pictures

Evoke Photography did the wedding photos for both of our daughters' weddings. The experiences were incredible.

Evoke is the best value for your money in Houston. There are several photographers, and you can choose which one you'd like if they are available on your wedding day. I had Al, who was absolutely amazing with the camera. My engagement pictures were great, and you could really tell we were having fun during the photo session. I just saw my wedding photos posted online, and there really aren't very many bad pictures. Al does a great job keeping your smile real by doing funny things behind the camrea.

I did not have Al for my bridal protrait and did these photos in the studio. I was not happy with any of my bridal portrait pictures, but after hearing feedback, Evoke offered to give me another session for free. I was not impressed with the lighting effects the photographer did in the studio, and most of my smiles were fake because I was getting bored. But I thought it was very professional for Evoke to offer me a second free bridal photo shoot.

I would highly recommend Evoke to anyone getting married in the Houston area.

I absolutely loved my photographer, Tambi. She was fun to have at the wedding and reception and the photos are amazing!

I used the evoke student program and it was a great value. They allow you to see samples from the different student photographer and if there is a photographer you like, then you can choose them. If you have any photo ideas, those can be submitted as well. However, they will not allow you to secure date until twom months before your date.

Kind of expensive in my opinion, but it was worth it. The photographer captured everything I requested and did a good job at not getting in the way of things. Complaints- pictures not posted online for all guests to see (this might have changed since then...not sure) I was given a CD with all of my pictures on it so I had to carry the CD around to show people the pictures. The price included my wedding album, but that was it (no extra pictures to be framed.)

My experience with evoke was a good one. I had a wonderful photographer named Charles on my wedding day, who was extremely considerate and professional. There were many beautiful posing photos, but I do wish there were better candid shots. I was impressed by my photo album, except for the fact that I was unable to touch up some of the imperfections on some (shiny faces, etc). Overall Evoke was not only affordable, but they did a nice job.

This vendor uses multiple photographers. The one we used was hard to understand on the day of the wedding, but the pictures turned out beautiful.

I used Evoke for all my wedding related photography including our engagement and my bridal portraits. The most important thing to keep in mind about Evoke is that they are a company of photographers, not one individual photographer. My engagment and bridal portraits were done by one photographer and the wedding day by another. We really loved the first photographer's photos, but we were a little dissapointed with our wedding take pictures. The photos are washed out and the framing often left much to be desired.

However, working with Evoke was great and easy. They were very fast (and i mean VERY) to get my proofs for all three events to me. We purchased the rights to our photos and had the full resolution images only 2 days after our honeymoon. The company is friendly and helpful. When we recieved our full resolution images they had added many effects to the photos, which are interesting, but i prefer to do my own computer enhancements to pictures. I called them, and a week later they had maild me new CDs with effect-free photos.

With all they included in the photo package, I really feel like I got my money's worth.

Overall my photography was decent. I'm a proessional photographer myself so my standards were extremely high and unfortunately this studio didnt reach my standards HOWEVER, they DID do everything I requested to make up for it. If you are not a photographer then you will LOVE this studio, and even if you are a photographer, you will probably love them as well and I just had a fluke experience (which is very likely considering if you ever visit their studio, you will see their gallery is quite impressive). But, like I said, mine was probably just a fluke occurance. My photographer herself was a wonderful person and I enjoyed working with her. She was practically invisible and made us feel very comfortable. When we reported our concerns to the studio manager and owner, we were validated on a few of the issues and then not so much on a few. Even though our opinion differed from the owners opinion, he kept it professional and admitted that it is our opinion as the clients that mattered most and worked with us for a resolution. We WILL continue business with them for other milestones in our life though and I will continue to recommend them.

As for their prices, they are on the high side. I wanted a video too but over $1000 for only a 30 minute video was WAY too much for me. Now if you have that kind of money then more power to ya but we didnt therefore we didnt have them do video for us. The photography is high as well but if you book them a good distance in advance, and haggle with them some more, they will come down a bit. Its all a matter of how well you can negotiate and what you can live without in your package.

Evoke was very accomodating to our needs. We purchased a package deal but, when we told them we had already had an engagement session elsewhere, they allowed us to switch it out for extra picture credit! We also were given a lot of control over our album layout and design. Plus, we had over 900 pics to choose from!! The photographer was incredibly friendly, but did not seem as professionally trained as we would have liked. However, our overall experience with Evoke was very pleasant.

I had two different photographers: one for my bridal shoot and one for my wedding. Both photographers were very nice and cooperative; however, when it came down to the actual quality of the pictures my husband and I were very disappointed. Several of the photographs were out of focus and had poor lighting. Some were taken too far away and were awkward. In one picture the photographer was tying to take a photo of me and my dad in front of a mirror and the photographer actually was in the picture (in the reflection!). He also only took one picture of the entire wedding party (which was out of focus), and didn't take many pictures of people during the reception (even though it was four hours). To their credit, there were a few pictures that were really nice. Everyone at Evoke is really nice, I just think their photographers are very good. It's not worth the money you pay.

These guys were terrible. I did not get the photographer I requested on my wedding day and the photos were terrible. I would never use them again.
