I love this website. They have templates you can choose from, which make it so easy to create your own website. You can add pictures, maps, downloads, and music. It was so easy to use and I was constantly updating the site because it was so easy to use. They have free service, or you can upgrade to a higher price for more functions. The price was still tolerable even for the upgrade. Everyone complimented us and loved our site. The only bad thing was that I had to create a password for it because people could find the site on google (and we didn't want just anyone knowing our info!) When I asked them if they could remove the site from google, they said no one could help me. Just make sure you add a password if you want some privacy.
It was Thom's idea to make a wedding webpage instead of sending out cards. He said that it was better for the environment, and I did agree with him that it was silly sending something out in the mail twice. eweddings was good because we were able to create a story about us, how we met, what we have been doing for the past seven years in our relationship. Collecting the pictures for the webpage (we had a couple that we scanned) was good because then we had the pictures in a file for our wedding slideshow. We got lots of good feedback on the website, and now all my friends who have gotten engaged are doing the same thing. I think it just makes more sense, financially and for the enviroment. And it saves so much time. Addressing all those invitations took hours!
We used our eWedding website to direct our friends and families to all of the details for our wedding. A link to our page was included in the mailed invitation as well as our e-mail invite follow ups (so no one would have to type in the whole link). This made it a lot easier for us to share important details like accommodations, the rehearsal dinner, girls spa event, guys golfing trip, etc. Everyone really appreciated having the details in one centrally located place instead of having to look for their invite every time. I highly recommend this site. It's hard to believe it was free!
We made the website because we thoughts this would be the best way to get the word of the wedding and our engagement to as many people possible. I liked it because we were able to post our engagement pictures up, too. I think the best part about the site was that it was easy to use, and it was easy for people to access it. It’s the most user friendly program I have ever worked with.
We used the postcards from vistaprint.com as our save-the-dates, but we found that having a website was very helpful to many of our friends. We were able to post links to local hotels, maps of how to get from the church to the reception hall, and also put up a few pictures. People loved it! We made the website and emailed our friends the link, asking us to send us their mailing address so that we could send the save-the-date and invitation cards. I don't think the whole world is ready to go for just digital wedding invitations, but I can see it happening some time in the future.
I think it was smart to use a website to advertise our wedding to our friends and co-workers. It seemed kind of redundant to send out both save-the-dates and invitations, but I think there is an increasing pressure to do both. Having a website takes away some of that pressure. The directions were easy to follow, and we were able to load some pictures of us and quote the vows we would be saying to each other. This was a good activity for both Pat and I, because he was kind of staying clear from the wedding planning activities, and I think he needed to take a bigger role. Guys are more apt to help if it involves computers, or at least my Pat is.
I think that we sort of botched this part up a bit. We had different ideas of what the other person wanted in regards to the invitations. Steven thought it would be find to just send our emails, I knew that our older relatives would want paper invitations, and then in the end his mother wanted paper invitations for everyone. I wanted to have a paper-free wedding because I felt that no one really cares that much about invitations, and as long as people know they are invited, they will be there. When we first thought we were going to have a paper-free wedding, we bought a website through ewedding.com. We chose this site over other sites because even though we had to pay (less than $5 a month); we got the number of pictures and information that we wanted. We found we couldn't have certain things with the free wedding WebPages. Then I went to Michael's Arts and Crafts store and picked up some Wedding Invitation kits (a box of thirty for the older relatives that would like a card). Then Steven's mother said that everyone needed invitations, and I looked around online. We really liked the cards we saw on minted.com, and we liked that they would mail us a sample before we would purchase the whole thing. It was great! Quick, easy service and it was excellent quality. The cards looked great, we had RSVP cards, and we even had programs made at a later date. They have some really beautiful and trendy cards, and I'm happy that seeing we had to get cards, that we got these cards.
we used a wedding site to get the message of our wedding date out to most of our friends. It was 50% helpful. I think we spent a lot of time getting it ready, picking pictures and deciding what we would write. There was a lot of pressure to have a nice website. This is good for someone who wants to spend time making something nice. It is a nice option, and it was nice for me and my wife to spend time together talking about wedding stuff.
Todd and I debated over how to spread the news of our wedding date to all our friends and family members. Save-the-date cards seem like a good idea, but it can be really costly to send out invites twice. Todd suggested we send out an email, which we did when we first got engaged, but then we found out that eweddings let you create a web page with all the information on it. It was a great idea! The web page was super cute and easy to use, and all of our busy friends were given almost a year notice to make plans. The thing I like best was that I was able to include extra information, like what fun things they could do in Minneapolis or Stratford. Also, we were able to provide a map of where the banquet hall is located, so that people driving there wouldn't get lost.
We made us a webpage and then emailed all our friends and family members to let them know about our upcoming wedding plans. It was really easy to register and set up the webpage. I'm not that good at computer programs, but I was able to upload the pictures. I think lots of my friends liked it, and I did get some good comments on the guestbook about how cute our page was. My mother was not a big fan because she still thinks the internet excludes a big group, especially my grandmother and lots of older relatives. It was a good way of letting younger people know about our upcoming wedding, but I still had to call lots of people to let them know of our upcoming wedding date.
Ewedding has amazing functionality- you can accept rsvps for showers, and other wedding related events. The only downside is the cost of the website. Plus, they trick you into making a website for free and then a month later when your free trial expires you can’t access all of the stuff you have written until you pay- so if you use this site, make sure to plan to pay or keep copies of your info!
This was probably one of the best things we did for our wedding planning. It was great that it was free, though it was hard to find a nice template that wasn’t too tacky. We found this online wedding website that let us create a webpage with all our wedding information on it, with maps and pictures. I worked on this more than my wife did just because I really liked the idea of telling our story this way. I also found that adding maps to where the guest hotel was, along with where the church and the reception hall were located, would be really helpful. I would say that 80% of our guests had an email address where we could forward them the website, and from then 80% bout half of them actually RSVP to our party through the website. I think this will become a more popular option with time.
I am giving the online wedding website 5 stars because it was a cheap and fast way of letting all of our friends and family know that we got engaged and had a date for the wedding ceremony. We made the site hours after the church confirmed our wedding date. We wanted a short engagement, so this was the perfect way of getting the message out. I really like save the day cards, but we just didn’t have enough time to make them and the wedding invitations. The site was free, easy to use, and we could post all the information that we needed. We could also go back and add more information, like where we registered.
We emailed and facebooked friends and family the wedding web site letting them know of our wedding date. We made the free website, which took hours to make because we couldn’t agree on a template, pictures, or which song we wanted. It also took us a while to pick a website name. In the end the webpage looked great. It was easy to email people with the link, and then people were able to RSVP on the page or just call us. It gave us a good idea of who to send wedding invitations to because we already knew who couldn’t come.
Very easy to use and fun to set up. It allows you to make up your own address for a slight monthly charge. It also allows you to post pics, links to area information, and guests can RSVP. Since we had a lot of out-of-towners, many people took advantage of it.
I used this website to create my own wedding site. We put the link on our Save the Dates, and on an insert in our invitations. This was important to keep people up to date on everything for our wedding. They have low monthly payments for the website.
