Peg with Exceptional Events was an incredibly important part to the success of our wedding. We live in Denver, and got married in Illinois at my family's farm. Planning from so far away, we quickly learned we needed someone back home helping. Peg has an amazing amount of ideas and resources to make those ideas reality. Her attention to detail was greatly appreciated as everything we wanted for our wedding weekend happened. She also has a sweet, motherly approach that makes it very easy to work with her. I appreciated how much time she took getting to know my fiance and I. I feel we had a wedding that really reflected who we are, and we have Peg to thank for that!

I've been meaning to write reviews of my wedding vendors for almost a month now. The most important of reviews being this one. I cannot recommend Exceptional Events and Peggy Terrey enough. I must admit, after my first meeting with Peg-- I was a little dubious of spending some of my wedding budget on a planner. I'm a bit of Type-A personality and I am very decisive and I know what I want. Why would I need a planner to help me?
I was very impressed that Peggy made us have a consultation with her before signing on the dotted line. She insisted that we think the expense over. After deciding on using her for planning consultation and day-of coordination, I cannot imagine doing it without her! She was VERY responsive (our e-mails were pretty much instantaneous conversations--and I found this to be one of my most valued traits in all of my wedding venders), she calmed me down, she let me make decisions and didn't push if our opinions didn't match. She has a WEALTH of knowledge of the local wedding industry and had multiple suggestions and names for rentals, candles, cakes, etc. She works in a non-biased manner and would give me the pros and cons of each decision we evaluated.
On the days of both our rehearsal and wedding, she showed up with a HUGE bin of materials for our centerpieces, decorations and any sort of wedding emergency. When my maid of honor fell down the stairs at the Hotel Blackhawk, and sprained some toes, Peggy busted out medical tape to get her back in walking condition. If anything went wrong that day neither my mother or myself knew about it, and that's exactly how we wanted it.
I will sincerely miss working with Peggy-- she was intricate part of my life for over a year and she will be an asset to any bride needing some help with putting together one of the biggest events of their life.
Peg was outstanding! She guided me every step of the way and made my whole experience stress-free. I would recommend her to anyone...whether a wedding or a party - she's the best!
I used Exceptional Events for day-of coordination for my wedding. They also have a wedding planning package, but I didn't feel like I needed a full-blown wedding planner--I just wanted to make sure that there was a paid professional that could handle any problems that came up that day. I met with Peggy twice, and she went over all the details of the wedding. I emailed her frequently in the weeks leading up to the wedding, and she responded within a few hours every time. After our second meeting, she created a timeline for our wedding and distributed it to our vendors. Our photographer later told us that they have never worked a wedding that was so well-organized. She is extremely familiar with all the venues in the Q.C., and was able to provide special touches that we otherwise would not have thought of--for instance, we were married at Sacred Heart in Moline. She brought white linens to drape over the windows in between the church foyer and the congregation so that nobody could see me when I was in the back waiting for the processional. She also knew the church's policy on photography and videography and explained them to our other vendors. In addition, she was able to give suggestions on where to place tables/photo booth, etc. for the reception at the Figge. When we arrived at the reception, somebody realized that several tables had the wrong number of chairs and place settings. Peggy had the museum staff fix this (very discreetly, I didn't even notice!) and then personally walked through the museum counting the place settings at every single table. When glasses broke, she cleaned them up. When my bustle broke, she pinned my dress together within 3 minutes and you couldn't even tell it was broken. In the weeks leading up to my wedding and on my wedding day, many people told me that they couldn't believe that I wasn't stressed, and I know a large part of that was due to Exceptional Events. To me, the peace of mind was way worth the cost.
Peggy was AWESOME! When we had emergencies, she was there to solve them. For example: when our vendor for decorations was suppose to provide bowls for a candy bar, they didnt. Peg was able to find bowls and set up the candy bar. Another instance was a vendor gave us table runners that had a few stains, she noticed the stains, took the runners home, washed them, was unable to remove the stain. She then brought her own runners to match our colors and solved the problem. If I had to plan another wedding, I would recommend her!!
We can't say enough about Peg's assistance in making our daughter's wedding an absolutely wonderful celebration. Peg's advice during the planning process over the past months was invaluable. Her assistance, coordination, and direction during the rehearsal, the preparation and ceremony, and the reception was priceless. We knew it would be a whirlwind couple of days, but it was even more of a blur than we anticipated. Peg's management of all the details allowed us to fully enjoy the celebration with family and friends. We wouldn't change a thing! Peg at Exceptional Events has our absolute endorsement. Peg and Jim at Exceptional Events were the BEST! I couldn't have planned/executed the reception for 300 people at our home without them. It was flawless and all I had to do was show up.
We live out of state, and had our wedding in the Quad Cities because of family. Peggy and her team provided INVALUABLE help in giving us vendor suggestions, planning suggestions, and info regarding weddings (ie: who could marry us, what the license rules were, etc.). Every vendor she recommended was amazing, reliable, and personable. We would not have found these vendors without her, and I know she saved us more money than what her fee was. In addition, her timely responses to emails and phone calls helped alleviate the stress of planning a wedding long distance. I can't say enough positive things about Peggy and her team - I highly recommend!

Exceptional Events helped us plan our wedding, day of coordination, and RSVP service. I honestly couldnt have had the perfect wedding that I did without them. The RSVP service was a total life saver, Peg took care of everything for me, from tracking the responses to helping with the seating chart, and the place cards. I worked with Peg for my planning, and Molly and Jim did the day of coordination. I was a little nervous because I only met Molly and Jim once before my wedding, but we gelled so well together! They were absolutely amazing. I dont think that I was really a picky bride, but the church had a balloon hanging from one of the ceiling lights when we got there, and for some reason it bothered me so much. When I arrived at the church on Saturday, it was in my dressing room! Some how Jim got it down for me! They truly went above and beyond for us, and using exceptional events was one of the best decisions we made!
i loved having peggy help me with my wedding she had so many ideas and she even bailed us out of a jam at the last mintues and was our officiant i couldn't thank her enough
Peg was instrumental in planning two wonderful weddings with my daughters! I don't know what I would have done without her. She and her husband felt like family. I wish I had another daughter so we could have her plan another wedding! My daughters were married on 07-02-06 and 10-25-08. They were very happy with her help and maintain contact with her now.
