Expectations Hair and Nail Salon

Melissa and Brenda at Expectations were wonderful for our bridal party!! They did updos for me and my 4 bridesmaids, as well as a style for my mom and makeup for me. They are extremely affordable, much less than any other salon that I called. Melissa even set up a lunch buffet for the bridal party with yummy sandwich makings, hummus, and cheese. Talk about a great way to start the wedding day!

I was so worried about my wedding day updo because I have extremely, extremely thick hair. It is long and quite overhwhelming to work with! I've been told by almost everyone who has ever cut or styled my hair that it is the thickest hair they have ever seen. I went in for a hair trial with Melissa and the style that we had hope would work (a simple, graceful chignon) did not work, and so I went into the wedding day not knowing exactly what my updo would be like. This made me VERY nervous, but Melissa assured me that she had something in mind that she knew would work well with my hair and compliment my lacy dress. After two hours of work, I held up the mirror and Melissa had worked a miracle! Through a series of knots and twists, she had created the most elegant and beautiful updo, so intricate and lovely. She was right- it was the perfect look to go with my wedding gown, which had a definite vintage look. My bridesmaids, who had watched the whole process come together, couldn't believe that my crazy hair could be coaxed into such a perfect updo! I was also impressed with the way that Melissa did my makeup. I rarely wear much makeup and never wear primer, foundation, eyeliner, etc. so I didn't feel comfortable doing my own makeup but I was also afraid that I wouldn't look like myself if someone else did it. I shouldn't have worried; Melissa gave me a very natural look and I did not look like I had mountains of makeup caked on my face! Everything about this place exceeded my expectations (excuse the pun). Thanks to Expectations for a great experience!
