I loved working with Shelley! She was so great. She listened to me and what I liked and disliked. Every little detail that I mentioned was accounted for on my wedding day! We had a very good experience with Expressions of Love Florist from the very first appt. to discuss the order. The flowers were at the church and set up as promised before we arrived and looked beautiful. After the ceremony they came back and moved and setup everything at the reception site as scheduled. The flowers at our wedding were absolutely breathtaking. Shelley and her team worked so hard at creating the look I desired and my guests were floored with how beautiful everything was- I owe it to Expressions of Love! She had so many ideas for arrangements, since I wanted different heights and styles that would still look cohesive. Ten days before the wedding I discovered that the church would not have flowers, so I had to make a last minute request, it was done without hesitation. When I walked into the bridal room at the church the first thing my daughter said was, "Mom, look at the flowers!" They were absolutely fabulous. I had even asked Shelly to incorporate a piece of my wedding gown into my daughter's bouquet. It was that special added touch. I can't begin to describe how the flowers looked at the reception site (The Cotton Room), they were unbelievable. I had people tell me that they were the most beautiful arrangements they had ever seen. Shelley took Jackie's vision and executed it flawlessly. I initially chose EofL because I didn't want the typical large, robust flower displays (or the price tag for them) that are usually found at weddings. After meeting with Shelley, it was clear she understood exactly what I wanted (flowers to match the southern/vintage/garden look I was going for), and I was eventually blown away by the final product on my wedding day. My bouquet was EXACTLY what I wanted (just-picked-from-the-garden flowers wrapped in twine) and the flowers on the tables (we used very old mason jars that belonged to my husband's grandmother and aunt as vases) were stunning. Shelley, thank you so much for helping bring my floral dreams to life!!

When Shelley walked in the show me my bouquet I couldn't believe it. Shelly was really good at getting my vision for the wedding, building on my ideas, and turning them into reality exactly how I envisioned it and only better. She was also very flexible and willing to work within my budget. Not to mention that during our consultation, she had the best chocolate and creme cookies I have ever had in my life and I finished the entire plate! There are small details that I hope Shelly would have paid a bit more attention to, such as that we had to place our rehearsal dinner arrangement on a side table instead of on the dinner table, because it was too big for the table (I did give Shelly the measurements of the dinner table, but I guess neither of us remembered the restaurant still needed to put silverware and plates on the table), that one of our flower girls halo was too small and it took me a while to adjust it to be bigger, and that the toss bouquet was REALLY tiny (well she didn't charge me for that anyway), but the overall quality of her creations was still outstanding, and I would definitely recommend her to any bride!

Shelley is so amazing!!!! I showed her some beautiful pictures that I had found and she completely "got it". On the day of my wedding my breath was taken away by how gorgeous the flowers were!!! She actually made the flowers more beautiful than the pictures I showed her!!! I showed her a gorgeous picture of a huge flower swag "rope" that was draped at the front on an arbor. Her's was so much bigger than the picture I showed her. I actually thought that one of my bridesmaid's bouquets was mine!! They were that big and beautiful! She was so easy to work with and completely hit it out of the park with the flowers! Rest assured!!! You should hire her immediately if you want someone that cares and that will understand what you want!

Expressions of Love did an AMAZING job on our wedding day flowers. When I first walked into the ballroom of our venue I was speechless. We hired this vendor to do all of our wedding ceremony and reception floral needs. For all the brides out there who are thinking of hiring this company, I recommend that you look elsewhere if you are looking for something classy, elegant and sophisticated. If you are looking for something more earthy and passable, then this may be for you. At our initial consultation, my fiancé and I came armed with many examples of photographs, descriptions and ideas of what we wanted. For each category of floral needs (bouquets, ceremony flowers, reception flowers, etc), we showed multiple examples of the colors, look & feel, and style of what we had envisioned for our wedding. We explained everything clearly and pretty much handed to them what we wanted on a silver platter—it didn’t get much easier than that. For the style and colors, for example, we wanted our flowers to be dense and full, and no dark greens whatsoever. I did not want the dingy dark green earthy look, but instead, opted for a more springtime, beautiful, light-colored feel. We also had further conversations by emails in the months leading up to the wedding in order to refine and finalize our style and the number of arrangements we needed. Nowhere in those correspondences did we once change our “color scheme” for the flowers.
On the day of the wedding, the company delivered the flowers as planned. However, we were disappointed that they were not what we had imagined or specified. For example, instead of dense and full flowers on all the reception table centerpieces, they were replaced by mostly dark green stock interspersed with intermittent flower—a stem of a rose here, a stem there, and a small cluster of hydrangeas here, a small cluster there. Instead of clustering all flowers together to create a full look, they were just scattered about in the centerpieces, and mostly filled with dark green stock (again, we had specifically said no dark greens). The company should have told us ahead of time that in order to create the look we wanted, it would require more money. At least we would have been able to make a conscious decision and decide for ourselves whether to pay more or not. Rather, they kept reassuring us throughout the entire planning process that they understood exactly what we wanted based on all the photographs and descriptions we had provided them. Had I known they would take those photographs and then do a loose and overgeneralized interpretation of them, I would have taken my business elsewhere. Another example is that some of the flowers in my bridal bouquet had started to wilt and brown on the edges even though they were kept in water when they arrived at the church. The bridesmaids’ bouquets looked a bit better, though the arrangements of the flowers looked disconnected—instead of evenly mixing the white flowers with the pink ones (as was shown in all the photographs we provided them), the pink ones were clustered off to the left and right sides of the bouquet while the white ones were in the middle. A third example is the ceremony pew flowers, which again, were just comprised of 1 tiny stem of flowers with lots of ugly loopy, dark green, banana-leaf looking stock. What we had wanted (and paid for) was dense clusters of flowers tied to the pews. Again, they had promised us they understood our vision, but instead they delivered a cheapened version of what we had described and paid for. We would have gladly paid more to get what we wanted had they only let us know that the pew flowers would cost more to make them look more like they were in the photographs we provided. They did not even look close to what we asked for. A fourth example is this: in addition to our centerpieces, we ordered and paid for small tabletop “glass block” vases which we wanted them to stuff full with hydrangeas. When we got to the reception site, there were very few glass blocks stuffed full with hydrangeas (the ones that did have hydrangeas were skimpy). Instead, we saw a lot more of round, petri-dish looking shallow containers with 1 bud of rose floating inside. This looked nothing like what we had ordered. Other miscellaneous and more minor examples include the following: they informed us they could do magnets on the backs of the men’s boutonnieres and made note of this as our preference, but on the day of the wedding, all the men’s boutonnieres were backed by pins instead. Our total cost was upwards of $7000, and this was a small wedding for less than 100 people. This was not a cheap budget to us and we expected to get what we paid for, based on the numerous photographs depicting exactly what we wanted, our correspondences during the planning process, the descriptions we gave that were included in the contract, and the reassurances that they understood and would execute what we had requested. All in all, we are thankful we hired a higher-end photographer who made the flowers look more elegant in print than they were in person.
[Note: Yes, this vendor received a thank you note from us, for the service it provided. It had arrived on time and delivered the flowers as planned on the day of the wedding (which is noted in the review above and greatly appreciated). The note stated that the candles provided were lovely no doubt and enhanced the romantic feel of the place because that is true (it is what we had asked for). Note that there is no complaints about the candles above. Also, calling after the fact would have been futile, since the event was already over, but it was necessary to send a thank you note for the service provided, regardless of whether it met our expectations or not. Further, one could write a more objective review one plus year later rather than one written soon after the event while emotions are still high].

Did a perfect job on my wedding! They sat down with me and figured out a plan to fit my budget. We did go a little over and they even worked with me to find how to pull it back down. Very quick at setting up the day of, i didn't even see them and they did it perfect. The flowers were all beautiful and fresh and exactly what we talked about.

I wish we could give higher marks for Expressions of Love. We worked with Shelley, and she did a fabulous job, working with us to get things just perfect. Her color suggestions and bouquet ideas were just right for us. We didn't want a "Christmas wedding" look, but we wanted a very luxurious and rich look, and it's exactly what we got. Wonderful!

My flowers were absolutely gorgeous. I was right to put my trust into Shelley. I came to her with a slightly unusual idea and she helped me to develop it into something that would work for my wedding. They were a little pricey, but well worth the cost.

Easy to work with, friendly employees. The woman who dropped off the flowers didn't take it personally when my bridesmaid insisted on double checking everything to make sure it was right (when she had gotten married, she used a different florist and the wrong flowers had been delivered to her).

Once or twice I had a slightly slower response to an email than I would have liked, but that was getting close to the date when I was getting more anxious to be sure everything was right, and Shelley did still get back to me in PLENTY of time to answer my question.

Expressions of Love would be an excellent choice for any event you might have coming up, I know i'll be keeping them in mind for any other occasions where I might need flowers.

Shelley and the Expressions of Love team provided exceptional service! My family and friends are still talking about how beautiful our arrangements were! Shelley listened to my ideas and saw my "vision!" At the last minute when we needed to add a few more tables, Shelley created another centerpiece design immediately. Expressions of Love Florist did a fabulous job for our April 2010 wedding. After meeting with several florists before meeting with them, we quickly learned that flowers are not cheap and that there is a wide range of cost when it comes to weddings. Expressions of Love offered the best value and quality of services that any of the other 4 florists we met with. The owner took her time with us to find out what we were really looking for and offered suggestions that we had not thought of. Every time I called or emailed them they responded within 12 hours which was awesome! Not only did we get our flowers from them, but we also rented the unity candle and pillars for ferns in the chapel.

These ladies are not only adorable but absolutely fabulous! I knew I wanted them to do the flowers for my wedding when I saw their work at my venue about a year before my big day. When we finally met each other, they were extremely patient when dealing with me, my sister and my mother all of whom had different ideas about the vision for the big day. They put together samples on our first visit to the store to show us what the florals might look like. It was incredibly helpful to see the design right in front of us. As the day neared we had a few changes here and there and they were very flexible and accommodating to our changes. I have recommended them to friends and family and will certainly continue to do so. They are a one-of-a-kind florist in a sea of very average floral shops. I would use them again in a heartbeat!
