Expressive Photography

It was hard to contact the owner, but my individual photographer was easy to contact and was amazing. Caitlyn did a wonderful job and I would highly recommend using her to other couples.

Photojournalistic, modern, beautiful work! Their images are more like artwork than cookie-cutter wedding pictures. Added perks - engagement session included for free and all images and rights are released to you on CDs following both the engagement session and the wedding.

My husband and I choose to work with Expressive, Tracy and Patrick. They were very fun to work with on the day of the wedding. We had a Friday wedding and so there were alot of timing issues to work out with Mark's side of the family and because there worked so quickly, it was just right in the end. We get so many compliments on our photographs, I would say we both were very happy with the final package.

We had our wedding this past May and worked with Tracy and Patrick. We love our photos, they really captured the day. I feel like they took our wedding and found art in even the smallest of details. The photos tell the story of our day and they really bring out the emotion of each moment!

My sister in law used this photographer for her wedding a year ago. And although her pictures were nice, the service from this photographer is lacking. They also have an F rating from the Better Business Bureau. As a "customer", I ordered 5 pictures with no retouching, special effects, etc, almost 3 months ago and I have not yet received them. I contacted her a month after my order and she said there were some problems with the prints and it wouldn't be long now, that was 6 weeks ago. A month ago I sent her another email asking for a status update and received no response. Since my credit cards has already been charged I am extremely upset. Brides, do yourself a favor and pick a more reliable photographer. There is enough stress involved with a wedding, don't add to it by selecting a photographer you cannot depend on, no matter how artistic. You will ultimately be disappointed and you can't have a "do-over" of your wedding pictures.

The best advice I could give any bride and groom is find some one that you LIKE- both based on the photographers and more importantly in personality. The photographers are with you ALL day and you want to make sure that you are not going to feel irritated or frustrated. I LOVED Gretchen and Jen and I am thrilled that they were a part of our wedding!

I had terrible experience with Expressive Photography (particularly with Tracy). First of all, they took 11 weeks to deliver the pictures after making a commitment to deliver them within 4 to 6 weeks (and I am still awaiting for the online link to send to my guests!). Tracy was very rude & unresponsive. The quality of the work was borderline average if not unacceptable (certainly not worth the price). For example, my fiancee and I specifically made it a point to go to the Art Museum in Milwaukee with the wedding party to capture the surroundings. Only two of the images capture a portion of the wing of the museum, the remaining show a white wall or steps (no need to make the trip all the way there when the context was completely lost). Also, in our initial meeting the studio had shown us different images with various lenses (such as the fish lense- very cool). All the images we received were quite flat/boring. Moreover, there's no quality control as the photographer send the images directly to us. The estudio never looked at them to make sure they were acceptable. If you look at the images you can tell that not much time was spent on the editing. VERY DISSAPOINTING EXPERIENCE. I would strongly suggest you work with a different studio. I am sad I wasted all that money and have nothing to show for to my family/friends :(.

Our wedding was in late September and we worked with Patrick and Tracy, so we paid extra to work with the best (supposedly). We paid for the rights to all pictures and were told that we would get a CD which contained every picture that they took once complete. At the end of the wedding day they told us that we could expect to get our pictures within 4 - 6 weeks. It is now almost three months after the wedding and all we have to show for the $5K we paid them is a measly 300 pictures that they posted on their website. The pictures posted are just a fraction of the total 1,800 that they told us they took. It is now coming up on X-mas and we will have to tell all of our family that we STILL don't have pictures to share with them. The worst part of the whole thing is that as much as everyone says pictures are timeless, they're not when so much time has passed that your wedding is old news. After you hit the 3 month mark, friends and family lose interest in seeing your wedding pictures, as they have all moved on to the next big family event. No matter what quailty the pictures end up being, I would definitely consider another photographer. These two have gotten greedy and over booked their schedules. If you want to get your pictures timely and save a few bucks in the process, I recommend going elsewhere.

I love the style of the photographers at Expressive. I had some trouble scheduling our engagement session, which was included in our package, but it was during the busy summer wedding season. I loved the pictures and can't wait for our wedding album. They will give us all of our images on a DVD, and we'll be able to share our pictures with lots of friends and family without paying the high studio print charges.

Tracy & Patrick were great on our wedding day – they did all they could to gather people for pictures and keep things quick so we could move on to the next set of photos. However, we received both the engagement photos and the wedding photos later than expected, and I thought that the photos would have had a lot more quality based on what we paid. But overall we are happy and we have tons of pictures to look back on. 
 
 
 


We are very happy with our photography. Tom did an excellent job of capturing our day in photos. We emphasized that we really like the photojournalistic approach and didn't want many 'posed' pictures and that is exactly what we got. Tom was with us from before the ceremony at about 2:30pm until about the reception at 8:30pm. When I looked at the photos he had taken, it was really like reliving the entire day. He also did some great photoshop work on some pictures. Overall, we are very happy we put our trust in Expressive Photography.

UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!!!!! Over worked and greedy. If you are going to pay that much for pictures, you would expect them to be done in a timely manner. Go ELSEWHERE! Waste of money.

Our photographs are amazing. The artistic quality is something to splurge on since it will last forever. Their customer service is seriously lacking. We were quoted 4 week turnaround time on photos, but it ended up being 8 weeks. They never called us to give us updates on the delays and did not return phone calls.

I was really happy with the pictures, they turned out better than I imagined. Sometimes I wished we were positioned better in some of the group bridal party shots, but that's really the only thing I can say. Emily was easy to work with and I would recommend her also. The pictures were gorgeous and we automatically had the rights to the photos also.

They were great the day of our wedding. They got shots that were beyond our expections. They were beautiful... We are still waiting for our wedding photo album (our wedding was in 11/2006)

They were easy to work with and asked us what kind of photos we wanted. They took very unique pictures and many candid shots. An excellent mix of photos throughout our wedding day to help us remember all the fun we had w/ our families and friends.

We received beautiful, magazine like photos. I rated them a 5 for budget, however the price has gone up significantly since our wedding in 2006. We received a full-quality digital file of EVERY photo they took right after the wedding. It was wonderful. I gave 4 1/2 stars on responsiveness as they took a bit longer than expected to receive the "touched up" photos.

We were lucky enough to book Expressive Photography before they exploded into the uber-popular vendor they are now. Their prices were BEYOND affordable at that time and they are amazing artists. We had both Patrick and Tracy for our wedding and the photographs that resulted were just gorgeous. They have an eye for candids that is just great. I highly recommend them, even at their higher prices. It's worth it.

Where do I even start?!? Expressive Photography is simply the BEST. I can't even put into words how happy we were, and still are, with our pictures. They (Patrick, Tracy, and Emily) are SO much fun to work with, they truly captured (in the most BEAUTIFUL way) pretty much every moment that happened during our "big day"..the planned, and the unplanned! I have never received so many emails, and compliments on anything as much as we have on our photography (our pictures even made it into a magazine, and are being used on the website where we had our wedding!) We have had many friends book with them and have the same experience, they are really just amazing!

Great photos, good editing - now more expensive, but not sure if worth the money anymore.
