Requested specific music for dinner in the online planner tool. Did not play any of it at our reception I actually had to go up to him to point it out on the planner. Still didn't play any of it. Guests requests were not played. Overall music was disappointing as he played way to much old music. My guests and I were not impressed.
Would not use him again
Dear Keith and Flashpoint staff,
Thanks so much for being our wedding DJ. You did an amazing job. Ive never seen so many people dance at a wedding. What a party! You could possibly be the best wedding DJ ever and we are thrilled that you were our DJ. Thanks Again!
We would recommend this dj to anyone who wants a real party at their wedding.
Sandra and Paul
We had the Flashpoint photobooth at our wedding. Our guests loved it! The photobooth just added something extra and fun for our guests. I have printed off some extras and have included group photos in my thank you notes for the guests so they can all have a copy. The 2 attendants were extremely helpful and the booth was set up nicely.
The music selection was pretty lousy for such a large outfit; they didn't even have the song for our first dance (by a little band you might have heard of called The Beatles). The salesperson who we met at the KW wedding show (who I think might also be the owner) wasn't very honest when he said they could handle an event with lots of Caribbean music. The DJ that the company chose for the event was polite and professional, but he didn't have the special experience that we requested when booking.
Well i have met up with them a few times now and seen them at the wedding shows and they have always been super nice and professional. they offered great discounts on there services and there quality of there photos for there photo booth are amazing! wayyy better than the competitors like soap box and rockstar . They have a great website to pick your songs and make the background for your photobooth pics. i know down below there is some confusion on someones DJ not showing up but if it is a matter of life and death , i dont think i would show up either ;) well anyways love the company so far <3
They played music that everyone could dance to and stuck to our "do not play" list. The DJ we had was friendly and did a great job with MC's the event.
We used the photobooth services of Flashpoint for our wedding June 2, 2012.
We opted for the 4hr package which included:
- setup and teardown
- customized design of photobooth printout
- scrapbook with printouts
- video playback while guest were waiting in line
- photo props
- two attendants
- USB thumb drive with all the photos
- guest online access to the photos
Our guest loved the photobooth! The two attendants (I forgot their names) did a great job working and directing our guests. The only issues I had was I found it sometimes difficult to get in contact with Flashpoint and though they do an activity planner on their website, the website can be a little cumbersome to use. Other than that I think we made a good choice. A word of advice, look for Flashpoint at wedding shows as they offer discounts that are not on their website, we found this out after we already...
Flashpoint Productions was the DJ for out wedding reception and stag and doe. They have such a great system to help plan your special days. When we booked the events we were emailed an online wedding planner. My husband and i filled the planner out together and gave every detail of the night so that the DJ knew what was going on. The night of our wedding we didnt have to worry about talking to the DJ or telling him what to do because he had the planner and he knew everything that was going on. That wedding planner made it stress free. Thank you Flashpoint for helping us with our special day.
Flashpoint was awesome!!!! Their interactive online request system was so useful. Our DJ consulted with us days before and actually got to know us and our personalities to help customize our day. Everything was perfect. Thanks Flashpoint and DJ Jean-Paul!!!!
Flashpoint is an online DJ service that is out of Kitchener. Since we didn't need much face to face with the DJ it was really nice to have them as a part of our special day. I rated them a 4.2 out of 5, because we used them for our Stag and Doe as well as the wedding. On each occassion there was a different individual who had was our DJ. We had a couple of complaints from the Stag and Doe from that DJ (very small points that I wouldn't consider it to be a fail or anything), but on the other hand Chris our Dj for the wedding was outstanding. He was extremely professional, courteous and he made sure that all of our guests music requests were played almost immediately following the request. We had nothing but positive feedback about him and the way he performed.
I like that flashpoint has an online system that you can work with to help prepare your day and it also allows the DJ to get a feel for your style and what you are looking for. They are very accomodating. They hold workshops that you can attend to help make a successful stag and Doe. Overall, they were just fabulous and I would use them again for another event!
Flashpoint Productions was very accommodating as we were stuck last minute with no DJ, they did a wonderful job.
I found out about this company through brochures at a bridal fair. They had a great show special--a few hundred dollars cheaper than the other photo booth rental places--so I hired them.
* Photo booth and two attendants
* Guest book to glue photo strips in
* Prop box (wigs, oversized sunglasses, etc)
* Small picture frames that fit the photo strips
* USB with all the photos at the end of the night
* Monitor to display a slideshow of all the photos (kept the guests who were waiting their turn entertained)
* Online gallery so guests could download their pictures
At times, the rental process was a bit annoying: I gave them all the info over the phone, then they mailed me a contract in triplicate and I had to sign all the copies and mail them all back, and then they sent me a copy for my files. There was a wedding planner form to fill out 6 weeks before the wedding and fax back, which I did, but I never heard from them. 3-4 weeks before the wedding I received an email asking me to fill out the same form online, so I don't know if they ever did receive the fax. Finally, they sent me proofs (jpegs of how the pictures would look with our header and footer) a few days before the wedding, and said any changes would take a week! Thankfully we didn't have to make any corrections, but you can't tell someone you need a week's notice if you only send them the materials a few days before the event!
Two employees set up and ran the booth for our wedding. They were polite and encouraged the guests to take pictures. Each set of photos was two sets of four poses: this was printed like a postcard and then cut in half. The guests got to take one half as a favour and the other half was glued into a guest book for us, in which guests also wrote messages for us.
We received all of the photos on a USB key at the end of the night, and a week later they were put online in a private gallery for our guests to view and download. The only error was that they'd printed the wrong password on the cards they handed out to guests (it was off by one letter), so I had to email everyone with the correction. Also, they never emailed me to let me know that the gallery was up or what the password was; I had to figure it out. So they can be a bit sloppy at times. Their website can be difficult to navigate, and has a few typos.
But our guests had a blast and we got hundreds of hilarious photos!
We were very happy with our dj service. We used flashpoint productions for both our stag and doe and our wedding and both parites were a huge success. The only small complaint that we had was that some of the songs requested weren't played even though we'd said to play anything people wanted. In the end however we would definitely use them again.
I couldn't have asked for a more entertaining DJ!! We had Emile! He was FABULOUS!! Not only did he get the crowd going but he was entertaining as well! The kids loved the blow up guitars and wigs they were allowed to play with to keep them occupied!!
I couldn't say Thank you enough!!
this is a total between the stag and doe, and the actual wedding. they are very helpful towards your needs, you can call 24/7. they are able to go anywhere in ontario that you need. with no extra transportation costs!!!
they have a wide varity of DJ's all they need to know is what you are like, and they try to pick the best fitted DJ for you.
they are able to have a website for you that you can have everyone involved in picking the music for your event, and you have the final say in what is being played!
We fell in love with the flashpoint pitch at a wedding show in Toronto. We signed up as soon as we settled on Kitchener as the city we were getting married in. I was very impressed at first but as time went by there were too many miscomunications and dropped balls. We didn't hear from anyone despite several attempts to contact them until days before the wedding. We wanted to meet the DJ they matched us with but had a specific DJ in mind however we were assigned the DJ they wanted with no discussion. The service was just not good. The DJ however was phenominal. James was great and helped us have a fabulous reception. It all worked out for the best!
We used this company based on price and a cool online request system, where guests could request songs prior to the actual event. We did not meet our actual DJ until the day of - the agency matched us with a DJ based on our profile and song selection. Our actual DJ called me the week of the wedding to go over our song selection, etc. As we went over our "special songs", the DJ noted that 2 of our special songs were Elton John, and mentioned that he was a big Elton John fan himself. cool. On the day of the wedding, as the salad course was being served, he told our MC that he did only had the instrumental version of the Elton John song my father and I were supposed to dance to...would that be ok? (NO!) One of our groomsmen had to hook up his laptop in the venue to download the correct song! On top of that, the DJ duplicated several songs throughout the night, including the couples first dance song!
DJ himself was nice but we only had one request for the night and he ended up not delivering. We already had a band so the DJ was only there to fill in when the band took a break. The one request we made was for the kissing game to be plinko - well he decided the night of that he "wasn't told that was what we wanted" even though it was a request on the contract - he had guests do a stupid hula hoop game that I quickly put a stop to
