Floral Inspirations

We were so lucky to have Fong in charge of flowers and decorating. In many ways, she was so much more than a florist. She was also helpful in mentoring, providing advice regarding other practical aspects of our wedding. She is truly an artist with great vision, not just for what she thinks looks good, but for capturing what you want. My husband and I were able to send her some sample pictures, she asked many questions and had good conversations multiple times over the course of the planning process, and was able to figure out what our style was. She was really great to work within our budget and we gave her the freedom to make decisions as she saw fit. That was truly the best decision as she was able to make our wedding beautiful, whimsical, and truly us. So many guests complimented her work and have told us how much they loved the decor of both our ceremony and reception.

She was a little challenging to get a hold of at the beginning due to both of our moving schedules (She devotes herself very fully to current weddings), but it was totally worth it once we were able to get in touch, and sign the contract, she was really great in responding to emails and phone calls. I have been telling my family for months now, working with Fong is less like working with a vendor you don't know, and more like working with a really fun Auntie with great advice and care for your whole...

The best thing that happened to me was meeting Fong, owner of Floral Inspirations. Fong is WONDERFUL! Besides meeting her once for our consultation she stayed in constant contact with me throughout the whole wedding process through phone or email. I really wanted to focus my time and energy on making the reception hall look magnificent and from the very beginning she just got my whole concept and executed things exactly the way I wanted. She had me send her examples of boquets I liked, flowers I liked, flower colors, I sent her a sample of what I wanted my reception to look like and a sample of my invitation, everything possible so that she could really get my theme-- and boy did she get it! I gave her my budget and she worked with it and I got everything that I wanted (think calalillies, monzenita branches, philenopsis orchids, high vases, low vases, lots of bling, etc.). At the last minute I even said that I would like some sort of an arch for my ceremony and I told her I only had $500 for it and she said she could do it and in the end that was the best looking archway I've ever seen with monzenita branches with strands of white orchirds, strands of jewels, and strands with little glass ornaments with a single white orchid in them handing down from the archway. EVERYONE, and I mean everyone, said that the floral arrangements were breathtaking and that everything looked so posh and luxuirous; that they've never been to a reception like ours before and I attribute this to her designs!At the end of everything I told her that I truly felt like she was my hanai mom and I meant it. She was a dream come true and anyone would be blessed to work her!

Fong was flexible and delicately designed and arranged gorgeously vivid floral arrangements for our wedding at The Royal Hawaiian Hotel. She was personable, cordial, friendly, patient and listened closely to my wife Kristen’s needs and wants for our wedding day. She met with us on several occasions (including sessions with our other florist—Evan Morita of Florist Grand—and specialty linen vendor—Naomi Lee of Les Saisons) to make sure she completely and intimately understood what we wanted and needed. Fong’s bridal and bridal party bouquets were exquisitely put together with the flowers and colors that Kristen wanted. She wonderfully coordinated a harmonious and integrated floral and color scheme with our other florist for the VIP Tables—Evan Morita of Florist Grand. Her designs and compilation of the guest round and head tables were absolutely breathtakingly stunning and she effortlessly incorporated handblown glass centerpieces from our friend into the arrangements and flawlessly coordinated her work with the VIP table floral centerpieces by our other florist, and specialty table linens. Her vision and artistry really shined to make our wedding day special and the talk of all our family, friends and guests! I loved my flowers. As expected though, she was difficult to get a hold of. I made a inspiration board on the web months in advance so that she could understand the vision I had for the wedding. This was much different than what we had originally decided on a year before (at our first and last meeting). She, unfortunately, didn't check this until a week before the wedding. We weren't able to meet but she was able to check the website I made. She was great at working with my budget. I wish I could have worked with her on the budget months in advance so that I could have allocated more money toward flowers and maybe threw in my own reception DIY project in to match the flowers and make the centerpieces e.g. adding crystal strands to hang from the tall centerpieces. Oh well. She worked wonders with the budget I gave her.
