Weddings by Flower Michele

I hired Flower Michele for the reception centerpieces. I worked with John who was able to get exactly what I wanted right away. We did a mixture of both high and low centerpiece for both esteics and budget purposes. They were a mix of calla lily and orchards. The lush centerpieces were beautiful and John even added cocktail table rose petals, powder room flowers, and the seating card table arrangement. Flower Michele was professional and wonderful to work with. I highly recommend them

I loved Weddings by Flower Michele. When my fiance and I met John we knew he had to be our florist! He was so detailed orientated and really got my vision.For the last couple of months working up to wedding we worked with Joseph! He picked up right where John left off. He was fabulous and worked so well with my whole family. He was so enthusiastic and really got excited about my wedding!!!The flowers came out AMAZING!!! Everyone at the wedding commented about how gorgeous they were and my guests actually asked if they were allowed to take them home! Joseph did an amazing job and I am sure he has an amazing team working with him too!!I think Weddings by Flower Michele is the only florist to use on Long Island. I highly highly recommend them!

Flower Michele is absolutely great!They listened to what my husband and I had in mind for the wedding and were able to transform our ideas with his own into beautiful bouquots and centerpieces and flower arrangements for the wedding! The staff are courteous, hardworking and very professional. They were always supportive and always made sure that eveything was perfect! The one reason why Flower Michele is out of this world awesome is that the person we worked with and his staff love what they do and they do it with passion. They met all our expectations and more! My husband and I highly reccommend them!!

They were my florist for my engagement party, bridal shower and wedding. Not once did they let me down, all the flowers came out perfect. i would not change one thing about any of my flowers

The tree centerpeices were absolutely gorgeous! They were flexible and worked with us until it was exactly what we wanted. Bouquets were fabulous!!!! Tons of compliments through out the night!

Our floral arrangements for the ceremony and reception were fabulous! I absolutely loved my bouquet, the bridal party's flowers and the corsages. Flower Michele truly understood our vision and color scheme. I could not have asked for a more beautiful day!

I can’t say enough about John’s talent! My flowers looked great! I never gave him any pictures of what I wanted. I just told him I wanted my bouquet to be calla lilies and stephanotis with rhinestones inside and that I wanted white flowers for the girls. I wanted everything simple and elegant. I gave him a general idea of what I wanted for centerpieces: BLING! 2 weeks before the wedding I went to see John and mentioned how I was afraid there was too much white and how I was worried there wasn’t enough blue since all of my flowers, tablecloths and chair covers were white. He told me about adding LED lights to the inside of my centerpieces. The final product was STUNNING!!!

John did an amazing job walking us through all the flowers we needed for our ceremony.We loved that we could always contact him any time and he was great keeping us up to date.The flowers where set up wonderfully and they looked fresh on our wedding day.Even our venue provider thought he did a great job.We where very grateful with his service and recommend him to everyone we know.

Unique, beautiful, exquiste arrangement

Flowers by Michele is wonderful. The owner has a few meetings with you and is very attentive to your desires. He is SO knowledgeable with regards to his flowers, their country of origin, values, etc. I brought a picture in of what I wanted and they made a beautiful replica with some small upgrades. They were easy to deal with (the receptionist is wonderful) and produced wonderful work. They also have a great relationship with the Inn at New Hyde Park, so they were able to coordinate set-up and breakdown easily.

I loved their work! John is really passionate about flowers and gives great suggestions. I wanted a gardenesque decor with pinks and greens. I loved my centerpieces and bouquets. Later on after booking him, I decided that I wanted a floral arch for the ceremony. This was truly my favorite thing that he made for me. It made the whole room look gorgeous.

Flower Michele – A+++++++www.flowermichele.comIt’s all been said before. John is great and so much fun to work with – by far my most favorite vendor. Originally I was planning on doing a fall theme, but then switched it to Red and Pink. I had huge, tall CP’s and the vase was filled with plums – they were AWESOME!!! My bo-k had cherry love roses, pink callas and burgundy dahlias. The colors were so vibrant andthey came out graet in the pics! My girls bo-k were inspired by Britney Spears’ bm bo-k’s. They were cherry love roses and black baccarat roses. I also got each girl a monogrammed bo-k jewel from Bouqet Jewels I thought it looked really cool.

Out florist, John, was phenomenal! Within minutes of walking into his showroom, i saw this beautiful arrangement of fusia orchids hanging from willow branches in a 3-foot tall vase. It was just stunning! I looked at my mom with tears in my eyes and said "that's what I want!" It couldn't have been easier than that. John took us through the rest of the process and made us feel comfortable and never pressured us into anything. I didn't even have to say more than 3 words--John just described his image of what he thought would look great when I told him what I liked and I let him take it from there. The flowers were gorgeous and the colors were so vibrant! Flowers aside, I would recommend Flower Michele for the sole reason that John was a professional til the very end. John and his crew came to set up the centerpieces a few hours before the wedding, but the wind was so strong (we had an outdoor wedding under a tent), the wind blew over and broke 1 of the centerpieces. Without me or my mom even knowing, John drove over an hour back to his office himself to make a new one and came back to set up the freshly made centerpiece. You just don't see that type of dedication and professionalism anymore! Hands down Flower Michele was the best florist for my wedding. I still get compliments on the centerpieces and the chuppa (if you're doing an outdoor wedding, use his birch-branch chuppa...it's absolutely breathtaking what he can do with it)! If you have any doubts about your wedding decor, put your trust in John and he will take care of everything.

I met with Rich in November to discuss centerpieces for my daugther's Sweet 16 Party on Feb 3, 2012. He was so patient and sensitive to what was needed to create the atmosphere we wanted and keep the cost within reason. We agreed on a price and even after some changes was still flexible. Rich told me not to worry everything would be taken care of and promised me a "WOW" when we walked in the room. "WOW" couldn't describe the amazing job that was done by FLOWERS BY MICHELE. Not only were the centerpieces BEYOND my expections but all was done and completely WORRY FREE. These people are wonderful and with today's economy it was exceptional to get the quality & service I received. I would highly recommend Flowers by Michele!JoAnn

Jon was soooo great to work with. He’s so easy going and really knows what he’s talking about. He was honest with us when he thought our ideas wouldn’t work instead of having something go wrong on the day of. The flowers were so beautiful and really pulled together all our visions of our wedding day. I was I highly recommend Flower Michele!

Beautiful people still talk about them today

It's sad for me to write this review, because John of Flower Michele passed away a week ago. It was an absolute pleasure dealing with John! He was a very talented florist with a true passion for his work. I loved my centerpieces and all my decor and it's sad that the wedding business had to loose such a wonderful vendor. I would have recommended them! I know that John had a partner, but I am not familiar with his work...but as far as John was concerned I had nothing but a positive experience dealing with him. A tremendous loss if you ask me.

Loved my Flowers! They were amazing! We spoke about what I would like for the wedding flowers and everything turned out more amazing than I could have expected!!! Everyone commented on how beautiful and original my bouquet was and how amazing all the floral arrangments were! They was so receptive to my needs and helped us pull off our beautiful wedding!! Very friendly, personable and professional to boot!!

The quality of service is the best around. Flower Michele will work with you to achieve the look you want. My best advice is to bring pictures of bouqets you like to your appointment. They actually create a sample for you so that there are no surprises on the wedding day.I am guessing they are extremely popular becuase I found it really difficult to get in touch with them. When I had an appointment I had no problem and was given their full attention. I was planning a meeting from out of state so I really needed to maximize phone teleconferences. All in all they created beautiful coral colored bouqets. Which I thought was a great contrast against the bridesmaid's navy blue dresses.My only real complaint is that they forgot to deliver the petals for our church exit. I had empty cones in the back room unused since the petals weren't delivered. Luckily I had bubbles too so we weren't exiting without any of the fun exit traditions.

We visited many florists throughout Long Island, but picked Flowers Michele because of their affordability. I found that I got the most for my money there. The owner went through every detail with us, so that I could get exactly what I had always envisioned. We had gorgeous green hydrangeas and a mix of pink roses for our centerpieces and bouquets. The bouquets came right on time, and look absolutely stunning. For our ceremony, we had a chuppah that had light pink and cream roses across the top. When we got to the ceremony location, I found that they did not follow the directions and only had 1 clump of flowers in the middle. My mom called immediately, and they were able to fix it, by the time of the ceremony. This only created some stress because we were taking photos under the chuppah, and those photos do not have the correct flowers. It also added some stress because we were rushed for time to take the photos, since we couldn't while they were putting up the fixed flowers. Other than that glitch, they did a beautiful job. We had a variety of tall and short centerpieces, which I received many compliments for. I thought they set the tone for a very romantic wedding, and was very happy with the results. I would recommend them, particularly because of what you get for your dollar.

Gorgeous flowers!

When I met with Flower Michele last year, I met with John - unfortunately he passed away shortly after. During the next few months I met with several people and although I had to re-explain my vision, they ended up pulling off my wedding perfectly.Every flower detail was perfect and they were amazingly accommodating to all of my requests, including dressing up a wagon for my flower girl because she was too young to walk herself. Everyone loved my flowers and they really pulled together my over-all feel that I wanted - great job FM and a special thanks to Alex, the owner - everything was perfect!

rich worked with us to have the flowers we wanted even though they were out of season (cherry blossoms). for that, he gets an excellent review. he also worked with us on the price. however, he was lacking in a few of the details. even though we went over the flower arrangements many times, he had flower petals on the tables instead of river rocks. also, he was late in bringing the centerpieces so there was not one in the lobby before the ceremony. i would use them again, but maybe go with john.

What really drew my husband and I to book with Flower Michele was their passion for what they were doing. We had seen 2 other florists before them, the first one was way overpriced, the second one was not listening and understanding our vision. By the time we got to flower mmichele we were slightly unenthusiastic. I was always worried most worried about my floral vendor than anthing else cause you really have to trust them to give you what you want that day of. When we met with flower michele, John pulled out a pad and paper and started asking me quesitons like "what color is my wedding dress?, what style is it? what color are my girls wearing?" I was susprised cause none of the other vendors asked me these, Then John proceded to start sketching ideas! We sat togehter for about 45 minutes and he drew us what he was envisioning based on the details I had given him. he was so into it that I was no longer concerned about trusting my floral vendor. We booked him on the spot. I really reccommend to check Flower Michele out.

Working with John was great. He's creative and knows exactly what would work for your theme. I came in with no idea of what colors or type of flowers I wanted to go with and he guided me through it all. I would recommend them if you're shopping for beautiful flowers and reliable and professional service.

Amazing flowers and great service

I loved Flower Michele's job. My boquets and centerpiece were BEAUTIFUL. John did an awesome job. I would recommend them to EVERYONE.

Flower Michele was great to work with, and the only reason I didn't give a higher rating is because we had to deal with so many people there. First we worked with John, but then he suddenly passed away which we were really bummed about because he totally got our vision... Then we wound up working with someone else that only lasted there for like 2 months, and then we finally worked with someone else. While the flowers were BEAUTIFUL on my wedding day, the stress leading up to it was a little hard to handle. In the end, we got exactly what we wanted and our flowers were absolutely stunning. People are still telling me what a great combo it was!! And they really worked with us on price... we got SO much for what we paid!! I would definitely recommend Flower Michele to anyone looking into wedding flowers... they do a great job and they really cater to every clients needs!!

Grade : ACustomer ServiceWe worked with John from Flower Michele and John is a real pleasure to work with. He is incredibly understanding, courteous and kind. We had previously negotiated a contract with John and John was able to give us the same pricing for the current contract. When we changed our centerpiece idea from cherry blossoms to the picasso lilies, John was incredibly honest and told us that having the picasso lilies would be cheaper. I would say on the customer service front, Flower Michele gets an A+. The reason I give them an A however is execution.Bride's BouquetThere were a few flowers in my bouquet which were damaged and started browning. I also hoped my bouquet would be a bit more round but that was probably from a lack of instruction on my part to Flower Michele.Bridesmaids' BouquetMy bridesmaids bouquets were beautiful though. Originally I had asked for my bridesmaids to carry just a few stalks of the dark purple vanda orchids but John was able to make an actual mini-bouquet for them which was just wonderful on his part.CenterpiecesThe part of the execution that I was a bit unhappy with were the floating candles in our lotus bowls. The floating candles were a bit huge for the size of the lotus bowls in our centerpiece. The 3 floating candles all took up pretty much the entire lotus bowl so that the center of focus were the melted candles instead of the beautiful picasso lilies around the bowl. The candles were also not long lasting so that by the time dinner started, most of the candles had already gone out. There were a few tables also with pink rose petals surrounding the lotus bowls and I really wanted just white or pale green rose petals. The 9 tables that got the 3 different sized cynlinders of green dendronium orchids however were beautiful. Some of them also had the same problem with the already melted candle but they seemed to be more long lasting. We asked for 10 tables to get the lotus bowl centerpiece and 9 tables to get the assymetrical cylinders. Looking back, I probably should have had all 19 tables get the assymetrical cynlinder.Chapel DecorationThe decoration in the Skylight chapel by the tent was beautiful. I did hope for a more traditional vase type setup on the pillars along the aisle instead of the same lotus bowl though for the extra money we paid for the chapel decoration.Personal FlowersOther than the execution part of the wedding flower setup, we really appreciated our personal flowers for the groomsmen, moms, dads, sisters, brothers and aunts. We were also very happy that Flower Michele filled up our 3 baskets of petal cones too.We would definitely recommend Flower Michele for their honesty, sincerity and good pricing.

Our flowers were not eaxactly as full or as bold as we had hoped. The cake was barely decorated and the small touches like extra roses petals weren't there. But overall, the flowers were pretty. The company was going through a tranistion at the time, so we would give them the benefit of the doubt.

We were excited to use Flower Michele and thought had heard great things about John - HOWEVER, we were very disappointed in the end result. Everything leading up to our wedding day was great - John listened to what we wanted, pulled together some great samples, was creative in what he offered, but absolutely failed to follow through.Most disappointing was set-up and delivery. John was a no-show and sent a less than competent staff on his behalf. They arrived late, hadn't been given proper instructions and were still setting up our ceremony area as guests were arriving. Our cake wasn't decorated until mid-way through cocktail hour (guests were taking pictures of a completely bare cake at one point). The actual flowers fell flat as well. We had to cut flowers from my bouquet before the wedding because they hadn't bloomed and looked like heads of lettuce - as did the groom's boutineer. The wrong flowers had been ordered for the corsages and the arch wasn't filled in as John had described. Bottom line, you get what you pay for. Flower Michele charges a reasonable amount for terrible service and poor quality.

I would not recommend this vendor! I was promised so many things and they just did not deliver! My centerpieces could not compare in beauty to the sample that was made for me. We had so many issues I can’t even begin to explain.

I am disgusted with how Flower Michele handled my wedding. I don't want to put too much detail on blast publicly because I am sure that others have had good experiences with them. All I want to say is that brides should be very cautious. I got married this month (November 2011). Flower Michele changed my floral coordinator in the summer and no one ever told me. A week before my wedding, no one had contacted me about final payment or to finalize the details of my flowers. I had to chase after them. To top it all off, they did not create the floral arrangements I wanted on my wedding day. Of course I did not let this ruin my day, but I just hope other brides full do their research before choosing such an unprofessional and unresponsive vendor.

John was our designer, but unfortunately died before the wedding, John was just wonderful in his designing help and samples. Joseph took over as the wedding date neared and seemed to understand all of our(and John's) visions, we even spoke about fireplace mantel desings based on some samples he had in the showroom, I paid extra for EXTRA beautiful mantle pieces ($265 extra). It turned out that Alex ( the owner I've been told)did the flowers at the venue the wedding night, The fireplace mantels were awful, cheap looking, and chincy, showing the water vials Just awful When I approached him after the wedding about this he said he forgot to do the "Fancy" job and said this was his normal mantle job ( which should have embarrassed the company anyway,) and I was supposed to be reimbursed the $265 I paid extra for the Fancy job It's 6 months after the wedding and still no reimbursement. Of course nothing will make up for the Cheap looking job he did but he could at least send me the extra $ I paid. Be sure to get pictures of everything Flowers Michele will do for you before paying anything !!!!!!!

PROCEED WITH CAUTION. I would only recommend working with Flowers Michelle if you like spending a lot of money and receiving very little for it. Oh, and you have to be comfortable with a lot of frustration and wasted time, since you'llå be working with a new person each time you go for an appointment, because the turnover there is so high. I don't typically write reviews - I reserve that for when I have something glowing to say. On the contrary, I've never work with a company that was so unprofessional in my life. We had to reinvent the wheel each time I went for an appointment because the new person did not have the old employees notes, etc.. But at the sample a month before the wedding, they assured me that everything would be just fine. Of course it wasn't, they brought flowers that I didn't order and not the ones I did, and they expected me to be just fine with it. It was my wedding day, so of course I could either a) get upset and ruin the day or b) live with it. And they're banking on a lot of brides just accepting whatever it is that's delivered to them on the day of their wedding. On the wedding day, Rich even had the gaul to tell my mother I okay'd all of the flowers (she had come with me to each appointment and knew the flowers delivered were a nightmare). He lied to her face, and then left the venue. I called two weeks after the wedding to see what had gone wrong (hoping for some clarification, and maybe even an apology). In typical Flowers Michele style, after 5 calls over the course of 2 months, I never received a call back. You may see reviews about how great Flowers Michele is, and how wonderful "John" is. John used to own the business, and my two older sisters used this company for their weddings. They had a wonderful experience, but John left the company and it has really taken a nose dive. I am a witness (and victim) to that, and I hope you don't get lured in by old reviews singing this company's praises. Proceed with caution, that's all I can say.

Started with rose pettels not delivered. Then centerpiece was incomplete, Card Table not decorated as ordered. Bride Table missing Flowers. They do not respond to any calls. Will never recommend and plan to take to Court for Contract breach and go to BBB.

THIS IS A WARNING!! to all brides an grooms to be the mastermind behind flower michele John passed away 2 weeks before my wedding an was left in the dark after repeated messages were left for john...11 items from my contract were left out. Even the mens boutonnieres were never delivered. When i walked into my wedding reception i was devastated and bursted into tears...My arrangements were nothing like the sample john provided...The arrangements were sloppy an table arrangements were missing...Alex who claims he is an was always the mastermind behind flower michele hasnt even had the respect to call me back...the last thing he said to me was how "his team" messed up...an havent heard from him since...

I would highly recommend John and his team at Flower Michelle!
