Flowers by Anne

I was extremely happy with my flowers. We had a very small flower budget and were contemplating DIY-ing our flowers. When Anne's estimate was $100 cheaper than our DIY estimate, we were sold! We were even able to use orchids that I thought would be outside our price range. She has an amazing portfolio of photos and was wonderful to work with... even when I completely forgot to pay her! I did eventually... ;-)

Anne was fabulous to work with. I had a budget wedding and couldn't spend too much on flowers. When I first met with her, I was afraid I might go over my budget, but at the end we were way under budget. She's very sweet and easy to communicate with. When I saw my flowers at the wedding, I thought they were beautiful. Everything turned out great. I would highly recommend this vendor.

Flowers were not that important to me so I was looking for somebody who was less expensive. I found Anne's website and her prices seemed outstanding. I was so surprised when I saw my beautiful flowers at our wedding! I got so many compliments on the flowers. Anne is very thorough, easy to work with and her prices are unbeatable. Highly recommended.

Anne did a fabulous job with my flowers. I went to her with nothing particular in mind except wildflowers, sweet peas, light blue colors and an airplane brooch. I didn't have a bridal party, just bride and flower girl and then the boutenniers and corsages. Simple and she did a fantastic job for an unbelievable price. I recommend her since she is creative and easy to work with and inexpensive.

I LOVED the flowers at my wedding. I think Anne did a great job and was very available whenever I had a question or change. I really enjoyed working with her.

AMAZING work!!! The bouquets and centerpieces were exquisite. Anne is promt with cooerspondance, and will work with you in anyway. She will see your vision and make it happen. The price is wonderful, and the quality of the work was perfect. I had large vases with curly willow and orchids attached for the centerpieces. They were dramatic and looked very expensive. I could not have been happier. I also had a huge wedding party with lots of bouquets, boutineers, ect and everything was there and looked fantastic.

I love our flowers!! Anne works with our small budget. Very helpful through out the year!! we love her!

Although I was pleased with the flowers Anne did for my best friend's wedding, I cannot say the same for my own wedding. I know the color of flowers can be off from what you see in magazines, but what I got the day of my wedding looked nothing like the pictures I showed during my consultation. While I requested green and pink flowers, the centerpieces showed up looking more yellow and red, with different flowers from what we had discussed. Unfortunately, I was not at all pleased with my bridal bouquet and my bridesmaids had to rework it with flowers from the garden about an hour before the ceremony.

Anne was a very nice person and her prices are in fact much cheaper than most other florists. Unfortunately, we got what we paid for. I am sorry to put a negative review on here, but I don't want another bride to be disappointed with flowers on her wedding day. There seem to be many other pleased brides on here- I'm just not one of them!

Flowers by Anne was actually one of first floral designers I contacted (via the website's awesome online estimator tool), but when I didn't hear from her, I assumed that she was booked. After several disappointing experiences with florists (one who said my floral choices were not good, one who no-showed for the consultation, and one who had a family emergency), I decided to follow up with her again and emailed her. I am so happy that I did, as sometimes things get lost on the net (that was a good lesson in following up!).

From the follow up email, Anne has been amazing! She expedited our estimate and held the date for us until we could meet with her for the personal consultation. At the consultation itself, she really understood our personalities and aesthetics and was able to translate it into really gorgeous designs. She was very helpful in making suggestions (e.g., adding green gladiolas to the ceremony decorations), guiding our decisions (e.g., using colors that pop instead of using white in the bridesmaids bouquets since their dresses were so bold), and offering us the best options for our budget (e.g., floral arrangements instead of floating flower heads). Her enthusiasm and passion for flowers even got my husband, Louie, excited about flowers - especially when she introduced him to Kermits (green button mums), which became the connecting element of our design.

Because we had a big bridal party (a matron of honor, a maid of honor, 2 best men, 10 pairs of bridesmaids & groomsmen, 6 pairs of sponsors... etc. etc.) and over 200 guests, we were worried about our floral budget, but Anne was able to get us *under* our 3K budget with 11 bouquets, a pomander, 13 corsages, 24 boutonnieres, 2 large ceremony arrangements, 2 medium ceremony arrangements, 11 low centerpieces, 10 tall centerpieces (in pillar vases), 2 small toss bouquets, and cake flowers - that also already includes 3 delivery locations, tax, and setup.

It was really easy communicating with her, and she was always prompt in responding to my emails and answering all of my questions. I just looked at my email box and I have about 30+ emails between the two of us! That is a true testament to how dedicated, patient, and awesome she is =).

The most amazing thing about Anne is that she really cares about meeting her clients needs and is very flexible with changes. In my particular case, she even allowed us to change one of our deliver times the week before the wedding, which saved us even more money. We had originally scheduled her to deliver the flowers to our reception later because of an event going on before ours (which was cancelled).

Flowers by Anne was a wonderful resource for us. I was a bit hesitant about not being able to see mock-ups of the flowers before the wedding, but--honestly--the floral arrangements were less important to us than other aspects of our day.

There were several things I would have changed regarding the composition and setup of the flowers: the bouquets, though beautiful, were different from the ones I envisioned, and some of the flowers were set up incorrectly, without any time to move things around before the ceremony. Because everything otherwise went off without a hitch, the problems with the flowers were memorable. If you choose Flowers by Anne, I recommend that you appoint a designated "flower monitor" the day of the wedding.

Nonetheless, we received numerous compliments on the bouquets and arrangements both during and after the wedding, and the problems were entirely invisible to guests, who didn't know to expect otherwise.

That said, I would definitely use Flowers by Anne again--she was wonderful, and the price was certainly unbeatable.

I had a bouquet, and Unity circle made by Anne. Though my planner worked with her directly, my flowers were exactly what I wanted and the cost was VERY reasonable! I received compliments on my bouquet throughout the day and it smelled amazing.

Anne did our flowers for our May wedding they turned out more beautiful than I envisioned. At first when I walked into the reception, I was blown away with the decor, and she wasn't even finished setting up yet! Anne got the job done and I'm happy that we chose her.

Both my sister and I used Anne for our weddings. She was very nice and easy to work with. I wanted simple and elegant and that is what I got. She was even understanding when I messed up her final payment!

Anne Nounou, owner of FlowersByAnne, was a dream vendor – from her detailed and timely email replies, to her knowledge of flowers, to her wholesale prices. I got the most gorgeous plum and mauve bouquet of calla lilies, cymbidiums and roses that perfectly complemented our wedding’s lilac color scheme. You can see an image of the bouquet here:

For under $700 during high season (June), I also got two bridesmaids’ bouquets of calla lilies, 8 boutonnieres and corsages, and 10 centerpiece sets, each consisting of 3 glass vases of varying height, colored gemstones, and 3 long stems of purple mokara orchids (these were apparently flown in from Hawaii). The girls all loved their flowers, and we got so many compliments on the contemporary yet elegant centerpiece.

Considering that callas and orchids are among the priciest wedding flowers, we could have paid a lot more for the quality, freshness, and generous sizes of the blooms had we gone to one of the retail vendors with the nice shop fronts closer to where we live on the Peninsula. Anne operated out of her home (in Oakley when we first met her, but she is now in Martinez), and I got a feeling it was pretty much a one-woman show, so she helped cut a lot of overhead and middle-man cost out of our bill. On wedding day, the flowers were ready at the hour Anne had promised, and when she took them out of refrigeration they looked as fresh as can be. Her taking the time to label each corsage/boutonniere helped us not to get them mixed up (she was super organized about everything). Finally, she is also quite flexible should you decide to change certain items after you first sign the contract. We found out rather late that our venue did not allow for open votive candles, so we asked Anne if she could swap out that part of the centerpieces, and she happily offered to replace them all with handfuls of loose orchids for us to scatter around the vases – turned out a lot prettier and greater bang-for-our-buck!

Go check out what Anne has to offer – she’s worth the drive, if you are coming from SF / the Peninsula. She offers a free online estimate when you describe the quantity and types of flowers you want – and she has plenty of pre-designed suggestions on her website. The estimate I got came pretty close to the final amount that I paid. All in all, I highly recommend Anne!

Anne was great to deal with. She is very creative in designing great centerpieces. I explained to her what I wanted in detail and she made the centerpieces look better then I imagined!
