I rarely give perfect scores when reviewing things but I must say Mary Cerceo and FLOWERS BY COLOR went above and beyond to make my wedding flowers fabulous.
I was definitely a "worn out" bride when I met Mary for the first time. I had already parted ways with two wedding planners and one florist and was "ready to be done" with this whole crazy wedding business.
Let me tell you, I couldn't have been in better hands.
I am an architect and project manager and have high standards for people I hire and the teams that I build.
She is NO NONSENSE, responsive, has GREAT experience with the plant material, is creative and ready to suggest if you need help or advice and just really puts your mind at ease. She is also respectful of your time and does not waste time - which I really appreciated. Plus its just fun to spend time with her! Very welcoming during our meetings in her home studio.
I will tell everyone I know who gets engaged about Mary - even if they don't ask for my opinion I'm going to give it - she made the whole process enjoyable and stress-free (as it should be).
I had a pretty good idea of what I thought I wanted, went to Mary with pictures and in about an hour we had the whole deal planned out. Well - SHE had it planned out!
I showed up the day-of the wedding about an hour before the ceremony and everything was in its proper place, just as I was expecting. No surprises and nothing scary. Everything was under control.
The flowers were perfect and lasted for about 3 weeks after the wedding. I'm not kidding. It was glorious. The arrangements had a classy modern look and all the guests seemed to really enjoy them. The bridal bouquet of Lily of the Valley was stunning and simple and smelled heavenly.
As a very discerning person with high standards for professionalism, follow-through, and aesthetics, I would most certainly say Mary is a great person to have on your team and I hope to use her again soon for any type of event.

Mary was amazing!! Her passion and knowledge for the business made me feel comfortable and excited to see how my flowers would turn out. From start to finish everything was even better than I expected. The bouquets were exactly what I imagined for my big day and matched my color scheme perfectly. Mary at Flowers by COLOR Chicago did such a fabulous job on my wedding flowers. She listened to what I wanted then made suggestions for the the time of year and budget. Mary was in constant communication with me offering suggestions and opportunities to modifiy my plans up to the very last minute. Her manzanita and glassware rental program made the dream of custom centerpieces an affordable reality. I could not believe the transformation of our reception space by her personal touches. When my flowers were delivered to the home, I teared up! Mary understood my vision even better than I did! I cannot say enough about the personal attention that Mary and her crew are able to provide. She makes sure that she does no overbook so that her focus is on YOUR event. That was PRICELESS!!

I happened to be so lucky to stumble upon Mary when looking for a florist for my wedding. She was beyond wonderful to work with. Her eye for knowing what was too much and what was just enough really made our floral arrangements throughout our wedding day wonderful. Her value is incredible and her flexibility to work with every changing brides made the wedding process much easier to handle. She was a pleasure to work with!

Mary was the absolute best. From our first meeting to the day of my wedding Mary was professional, courteous and knew exactly what I wanted and delivered it. My flowers were beautiful and exactly what I asked for despite the many times I changed my mind. My ceremony flowers and my centerpeices looked great and my head table was gorgoeus. Mary Cerceo from Flowers By Color was tremendous! The bouquets were absolutely beautiful and exactly what my daughter, the bride, had envisioned. Mary created gorgeous and varied centerpieces for the reception that transformed the room. Mary also coordinated the wedding party and family at the ceremony which was a huge help and made everything run smoothly. I had my initial consultation at her home and I knew right away I wanted to work with her. Throughout the planning process, Mary drove to the city twice to meet with me to discuss my vision. I don't know many florists who would do that for their clients.

My flowers were fabulous and exactly what I envisioned. I sent her a lot of inspiration pictures that I found online and she went above and beyond to make sure everything looked perfect.

Mary is more than just a florist. She helped a lot on the day of too with her assistant. She came at 2:15 to drop off flowers and didn't leave the wedding venue until after the room was flipped (from ceremony to reception) which was around 6-7pm.

Mary (Flowers by Color) was wonderful to work with! She did my wedding and wedding shower flowers and all were beautiful! She even matched my wedding shower centerpieces to the invitation. She put such detail into each bouquet and centerpiece! Mary saw my vision from day one and made my wedding day beautiful! Mary from Flowers by Color was just amazing to work with. She was recommended to me by a friend who used her services for her wedding. She listened to my ideas and helped me form my vision for the flowers based on photos I showed her. My bouquet had a very vintage-esque feel to it, which is just what I wanted. The bridesmaids bouquets were great and the moms all loved their corsages on faux-pearl bracelets. Everything was delivered in it's own box and kept fresh. The centerpieces were simple yet elegant and I'm so happy with everything. The price was very reasonable and included set-up and delivery. Mary also incorporated some fabric from my dress into my bouquet wrap, as I made my own dress, and it looked great. I would definitely recommend Flowers by Color to any bride!

I had a smaller, intimate wedding. I didn't have to look through books or samples of anything. I showed Mary a picture of my dress and told her where the reception was going to be and she did everything based on that. My flowers, the corsages, centerpieces, were absolutely breathtaking and I was speechless when I saw her work. I received compliments from everyone and my guests were able to take home a centerpiece! I couldn't have been happier.

Mary is amazing. She was able to produce exactly what I had envisioned for floral arrangements. Half of our reception tables included her dark manzanita branches with purple hydrangeas and hanging votive candles. The other half had shorter cylinder centerpieces filled with different shades of purple flowers to accent the black and white theme we had throughout the wedding. She also was able to incorporate our custom-made monogram on each centerpiece. The centerpieces alternating heights and candle lighting created a simple, yet beautiful ambience. My guests made many compliments on the centerpieces on how unique and elegant the floral arrangements were.

The best part of working with Mary was that she understood our mission to reduce as much waste as possible that the wedding industry can easily create. By renting her manzanita branches and glassware, we knew we were using items that can be reused for future weddings. She also used flowers that were in season and most grown locally so that we would not use flowers that were flown in from all over the world.

Mary was quick to respond to any questions or concerns that I had and was very friendly, timely and professional. If a change was needed to the proposal, she was flexible. I don't know how many times I changed my mind about little details throughout the last 8 months (sorry, Mary!), but she noted everything and executed everything perfectly.

She even created the floral centerpieces at the wedding shower my MIL hosted for my husband and me, which were beautiful. Flowers By Color Chicago's service is definitely worth every penny. If I could give her 10 stars, I would!

We loved working with Mary and her team, our decor and flowers came out so beautiful! When I approached her last minute about adding something to my bouquet she not only honored my request but did so without complaining or adding to the cost. Our ceremony and reception was beautiful, everyone was raving about it and the flowers stayed so fresh- they even lasted to our bar-b-que the next day and for the week following!

Mary was great! She was so easy to work with and was excited to create my vision of a unique floral arrangement. Mary met with my fiance and I to ask questions and discuss the details of the wedding. She used our wishes and details to create a plan for the flowers and how they would add to the "look" of our wedding. After we met with Mary, my fiance commented on how she really seemed to care about our wedding. We both knew that she was the florist for us. We had a large bridal party and Mary made sure that each person was noted. The mothers' wrist corsages were personalized according to their dress colors, the bridesmaids bouquets included a button regarding our theme, and my bride bouquet included a picture locket from my grandparents' wedding. The boutonnieres were awesome. She made our pew cones for the church and brought the runner! The price was affordable and she emails to make sure the details are perfect. She is professional as well as personable. She is the best choice for a wedding florist! Our wedding looked amazing because of her!

Mary at Flowers by Color is amazing. My flowers and centerpieces were absolutely gorgeous. Mary was always available and was the only florist that I met with who immediately saw my vision, and I trusted her to carry out that vision with her own expertise.
