My flowers, by Gil, were beautiful!!!! Gil did such an amazing job! The reception ballroom was absolutely breathtaking! Everybody loved the arrangements. I still get compliments about them.

To make justice to the quality of the service and flowers we received from Gil, we would have to write a 10 page review, so I will just say that he is not only an amazing person and a pleasure to work with, but also that thanks to him, our venue looked absolutely amazing and was far beyond everything we could have dreamed of.All our guests complimented us on our decorations, and even now (more than a month after the wedding) we are still hearing about it! The flowers he did for the church ceremony where perfect, my bouquet in cascade was absolutely gorgeous and the bride's bouquets as well. The arrangements in the wedding where just perfect. Gil worked with our budget so we could get the flowers we really wanted without going overboard. He gave us a crystal clear budget that left no room for unwanted "surprises" and suggested ideas that we thought incredible based on his extensive experience. Since our first meeting, he showed us in person what flowers he would use, and what the arrangements would look like thourgh his organized gallery of pictures. No other florist did that and I loved being able to see first hand his past arrangements and works.He did our table arrangements (30 tables, royal table, signing book arrangement, cocktail high tops) plus 4 arrangements for the church, my bouquet and 9 bridesmaids, the groomsmen, father and grandparents boutoniers, as well as the cake decorations! He is absolutely amazing! I would recommend him with my eyes closed to anyone that is hosting any kind of event and wants the ABSOLUTE best!. Gil, hands down has the best work for the best price! He had done my cousins wedding and she recommended him, my centerpieces were gorgeous,I had both tall and short centerpieces and they were beautiful. My family members all asked me who had done my flowers they all talked about how beautiful they were. Gil is also very easy to work with, he stays within your budget, and give you the best for your money.Definitely recommend him!!!Thanks Gil!!

I knew what I wanted and Gil gave it to me. It was a quick in-and-out but he was very professional and everything came out just as I wanted.

Gil is amazing! He is a master at what he does!!! He may not be the most responsive vendor but like many other brides have said..."HE DELIVERS ON YOUR WEDDING DAY!!!" Great value, great cost, creative, and tasteful. I loved my centerpieces, ceremony decor (including chuppah), BM bouquets, and boutonnieres. The only thing that I was not 100% satisfied with was my bouquet. I ordered a bouquet of white roses and orchids with a few fuschia (deep plum) cally lillies...the roses and orchids were beautiful but the callas were dipped in some sort of reddish paint or something which started chipping a bit during our pre-ceremony pictures. It still came out looking beautiful in the pics though so no biggie =) Just make sure if you're asking for a certain color of callas that you see it ahead of time.

Wow is all i can say. When i walked into my wedding reception i was beyond words!! Gil is gifted!! He definately knows how to make a bride happy. I strongly recommend you book him today!!!

Like everyone below, YES Gil isn't the best at keeping in touch, but my God he does deliver and more. I truly enjoyed working with Gil, bc as an artist myself, I think you should allow an artist to work and give opinions themselves. Alot of brides have these ideas in their mind of what they want and sometimes can be quite picky, but as an artist myself, if I feel something would look better, please allow me to do my work! I truly feel that Gil would never purposely do something different to ruin your day, only to help your day be more special.I researched with 3 different flower vendors before I met with Gil, in my mind, I felt that Gil was the best for last. No one truly understood what I was looking for, instead they all showed me a bunch of pictures of previous weddings and put down the same centerpieces for my final proposal. I was not disappointed, but def wasn't pleased. Once I met with Gil, I described I wanted a "Phillip Starck" design, I showed him pictures so he can understand the flowers I wanted to use, but he immediately took my ideas to the drawing board and came up with beautiful designs. I remember leaving that meeting and was a little sad because there was no way that I could get everything he had explained to me under my budget. My quote came in through email, but 3 days after that, and I was more than excited to use him as my flower vendor. 6 months later, I came up with other ideas I wanted to use and different flower trends I was interested in. I contacted Gil and he explained he was able to meet a month later, but being a very relaxed bride, I was more than willing to wait. Once our meeting came, we drew different designs including designing a fabulous glass sweetheart table and a really cool idea for the place card table, all under my budget!!! Weeks leading up to my event, I had not given a deposit for his services, in which he was not pushy at all for it, but I did feel bad and I wanted to pay something just to get it over with. It wasn't easy getting a meeting just to give the deposit, but eventually worked out. It was 2 weeks before the big day and I had not seen a flower sample yet, I am not pushy at all so I hired Jackie Ohh Events to take care of all my vendor follow ups, etc. She delivered and the same day I spoke to Gil and made an appointment for the following Wednesday. She accompanied me to my flower meeting and they both gave in ideas to which they came up with a beautiful design that I loved and was a little different from my final proposal. Day of wedding, Gil had delivered my flowers and was setting up the venues hours before the wedding started. While I was getting my hair done Jackie handed me my bouquet and I was completely in love, I even teared upon seeing it. I wanted a hand picked cluster of peonies in blushing bride color and that was exactly what I got. It was so gorgeous my girls were loving it. I saw my girls babies breath bouquets and didn't love them, but they weren't bad. Just wish they were a little bit larger in scale, but they seemed to like it, so I didn't say anything. My ceremony flowers were beautiful as well, a large cluster of hydrangeas and babies breath, with some added lilies that I did not pay for! I was excited to see my reception because Jackie said they had some surprises for me. When I saw my cocktail decor, I almost cried, Gil added so much more than I had asked for. He knew I wanted the black chandeliar look and brought in his own black candelabras and added it to my decor. My placecard table was gorgeous with some added mirrors that I wanted and these beautifully designed Callas in black vases, just beautiful. As I walked into my ballroom, I was completely in awe. I had 3 different centerpiece designs and I could not be happier. They was an array of different vases that looked so unique and very Starck! My favorite of them all was my sweetheart table, it was more than what I asked for. Since I had some left over peonies (my fave flower) he placed them on my table, I was in love! I was so happy because I was not able to afford peonies other than my bouquet and he added it to my table, just perfect! He also added a very cool black glass candelabra on my table to add to the black and white theme I had going. I was very happy with everything and seriously will use Gil for any event I have in the future. If you are picky and require lots of attention, then he is not the guy for you. But if you are relaxed and don't mind allowing others to give ideas and opinions, then Gil is the guy for you!

Gil was amazing. Everyone commented how beautiful the flowers were. The centerpieces were huge but not overpowering. After I had my trial with him, I was so excited and knew I was in good hands. He far exceeded my expectations.

Flowers : Gil Sosa A+++ Amazing, talented, creative, magician! These are the best words to describe him. He gives you a great product, high quality flowers, for a low budget price. However: DISCLAIMER: Gil is not the type of vendor to hold your hand throughout the process. If you need that type of attention- then maybe he is not the vendor for you. I never had a problem with Gil responding to me or answering emails or phone calls. He always got back to me and always was very honest with me. My flowers were all so beautiful. Very fresh & colorful! Gil’s contracts & quotes are very detailed and even include pictures- which I loved because I was able to give that to Karla and she knew what to expect for my flowers. My centerpieces were not exactly what was discussed, however, he also did all HIGHs instead of HIGHs & LOWs – which was to my advantage and benefit. He also added orchids on each guests napkin. I told Gil many times, that HE IS THE EXPERT and I trust that he was going to do a wonderful job. My goal was to have beautiful flowers and amazing décor and he delivered that. I got the flower types & colors I wanted, our guests were amazed at the flowers- and that is all that matters.

I read the reviews before-hand about Gil and was a little apprehensive. I have a co-worker who has two friends that used him and had the same reaction; terrible communicator but an artist at a reasonable price. I agree. Not the best communicator but did deliver good work. I provided the glassware and he mentioned they were smaller than he anticipated. I felt he should've then suggested he would provide more flowers or lower the cost. He didn't suggest either. He also wasn't there the day-of. They workers he had on-site didn't set up on-time either. They were setting up the ceremony when the guests started arriving. Ultimately, my husband and I were pleased.

It was a pleasure working with Gil. His work speaks for itself. Great Value for cost, and he was very flexible. Our ceremony decor and reception decor was fabulous.

Some of you that are considering Gil Sosa as a florist are probably nervous due to the reports of lack of communication and whatnot. This was also a feeling I shared. However, Gill WILL come through and he will do so magnificently. That man is an artist.Yes, he sometimes will get details incorrect on the contract. Yes, he will sometimes be late during your first meetings and trials. But the week prior to the wedding, he’s all yours. I figure he’s the type of guy who focuses intently on one project at a time. When all the bouquets (mine and the BMs) came in the morning of, I was shocked at how beautiful and classy they were. Just the right size, and the colors were perfectly matched.

Gil Sosa was my first and only choice for flowers. I had hear a lot of raves about him, and had seen all his masterpieces. He truly has an eye for flowers, and decor. I called him Auguest of 2009 and told him that I was interested in his services for my March 2010 wedding. He quickly jotted me down, and that was that. Due to my hectic schedule, I didn't go visit him for my 1st and last trial till 3 weeks before the wedding. I had no doubt in my mind that he would deliver! I went to his new office, we discussed everything, gave him his deposit. I told him exactly what I wanted, and at what price. I knew I was in good hands! About 2 days before the wedding, I called him and told him that i wasn't going to need 16 tables anymore, so I told him do go ahead and do what he wanted with the rest of the flowers. I told him that I trusted him ,and that I knew you would do something beautiful. Wow! Did he! He made such a beautiful arrangement for my place card table, that people were eyeing it the whole night! It was truly a beautiful masterpiece! Plus made his own touches througout the room.I highly recommend Gil Sosa. Both him and his team are great people to work with.

Gil's floral design at my wedding was absolutely BREATHTAKING. I really cannot imagine having had more beautiful arrangements, and I am sooo sooo grateful to him for that. I was completely blown away by how gorgeous everything turned out. I was never worried because I knew he would do a great job, but he really went above and beyond anything I could ever have imagined!!!!Although Gil is hard to communicate with through email, I did reach him easily on the phone and Karla (Stylish Events) did do a lot of the communicating for me so I didn't have to worry so much about it.

If I had to do it over again, I would DIY my flowers. Gil's prices are low but in my experience, you get what you pay for. Gil told me mine was the least expensive wedding he’d done since he was 10 (more or less direct quote). I wanted simplicity and very few flowers both to cut costs and because I like the look. I almost DIY’ed everything but when Gil came in with quote that was just 30% over the cost of DIY (and 30% less than the next lowest florist) I decided to go with him. I was fully expecting that things wouldn’t go 100% as planned based on prior reviews. I had trouble getting a hold of him like I had heard from other brides (Karla helped a lot with communication) and he always took longer than he said he would to respond to my emails. That was par for the course and I figured he would come through on the wedding day so I wasn’t super worried. I met with him at his house two weeks before my wedding when I was in town. Other than him calling me to come a bit later than we had said originally everything was fine. He wrote down what we wanted (which I had already emailed him several times, with pictures, but I was ok with going over it again in person). He gave me prices which were very reasonable and then he said he would get back to me with a quote the next day. The quote took a few more days but after a reminder email from me it came. The quote had mis-stated a few things that we had talked about at the meeting (at the meeting I said I hated lilies but he put them in the fountain arrangement; I told him to take them out which he did and they did not end up there) so I made sure to make corrections (this took a few emails). The quote also was $25 more than we had talked about and he had written on the paper. In my reply I said to him that I knew it was $25 more but I was going to accept it (it was still a good price, but I didn’t want it to just think I wasn’t paying attention). The quote said quite a few times that a bouquet would be done “as indicated” which I took to mean that it would be as described in my email. I really should have made him write down every single thing in my email in the quote description.I ordered 5 bridesmaids hot pink rose bouquets (I said 8” in diameter), one boutonnière for the groom, and one bigger hot pink rose bouquet for me (I said 10” in diameter). I also ordered 50 hot pink orchid stems (the quote said “Sabine fuchsia dendrobium orchid spikes” which is what we had discussed) for Karla to place inside my centerpieces and also the fountain arrangement at the Colonnade, which was supposed to have a “white” theme. I’ll start with the good on the wedding day. Gil delivered our personal flowers exactly on time. The flowers were mostly what I had ordered: hot pink rose bouquet for me, my bridesmaids and a single hot pink rose boutonnière for my husband. The fountain arrangement at the Colonnade was pretty much exactly what we had talked about, except that he put dark purple orchids instead of white orchids for the “white theme” arrangement. It was a nice arrangement though.And now to what went wrong. First, the flowers arrived in not so great condition. It was obvious that they had been cut a while ago, they were brown around the edges of the petals and I lost a rose from my bouquet almost immediately upon handling it. One of my bridesmaids’ bouquets lost 1/3 of the roses before the ceremony. Luckily you can’t see any of this from most of the pictures (except the one close-up of my bouquet) but in the video and in some of the pictures you can see the rose petals that have fallen off the bouquets within 1 hour of receiving them and when I entered the reception holding up my bouquet to do the first dance, one of the roses just shot up in the air, which startled some people (I later had to kick it out of the way in the middle of the dance).My bouquet was GINORMOUS. I had asked for a 10” bouquet for me because I’m 5’3” and I did not want to be overwhelmed by a huge bouquet. I never measured it but from the pictures you can tell that the bouquet is as big as my waist and I do not have a 10” waist. Maybe I shouldn’t be complaining because he gave me more roses but that is just simply not what I asked for. The bouquet weighed a ton and had to have the plastic guard thing so that all these roses could be accommodated. That meant that the plastic guard thing had to be hidden so Gil put tulle underneath the roses. I had to hide the tulle because it was not what I asked for and I think it is absolutely hideous! No offense to anyone, just not my cup of tea. I had asked for the bouquet to be wrapped in ivory/off white satin (very simple) and provided pictures of a bouquet like that, instead mine and my bridesmaids’ bouquets were wrapped with an ivory clear (organza?) ribbon and my bridesmaids’ bouquets had BOWS on them – definitely not in the picture I provided and again something that I personally dislike a GREAT deal. It didn’t seem possible to take them off quickly so I just ignored it and went along with it.Even the groom’s boutonnière (a single pink rose) had a problem. The boutonnière arrived without a pin to hold it in place, and so we had to go hunting for a safety pin or something to put it on the groom.I already mentioned the fountain arrangement was roughly what we’d ordered but then also had purple orchids that we had not wanted in there. The same purple orchids were the orchids that we got in the centerpieces, instead of the hot pink orchids that we had ordered. When I asked Gil about it later he said that that is the color that the “hot pink sabine orchids” have during some parts of the year and he has no control over that. However, I was never told this at all, and the orchids that we got were very clearly PURPLE and to me not pink at all (my mom kept some of them so I’ve seen them in various lighting conditions). To me, if there was a possibility (especially as strong a possibility as Gil said in his post-wedding email to me) that the color of the flowers I ordered would not be available I should have been told. I would have never picked PURPLE orchids to put on the tables, I’d much rather had had white! But this was never disclosed to me.Since I was so disappointed in the flowers, soon after the weddding I sent Gil an email basically listing all my grievances. He replied in what I’d consider a very defensive email (I get it, I was telling him I was disappointed with what I got) and basically saying he’s a professional and that this is what happens and he’s really good and everyone loves him and basically, whatever. He said some of the things I was saying were not in my quote (some of them weren’t, it’s true, but he took so long to get any quote back to me that I didn’t want to go back and forth any more, even though I’d sent him countless emails with the correct information but he’d “summarized” when he put it in the quote. I figured it was no big deal, I figured wrong); for the fountain arrangement he said we’d never said it’d be all white flowers (I don’t know what else “white theme” could mean); and then he said something like yes the roses weren’t the freshest when they arrived to him but that was what he had to work with with and they weren’t that bad anyway. I was not satisfied at all with the email but basically left it there because I just didn’t want to deal with it anymore.

There are not enough words to say how AMAZING Gil is.. My fiance and I paid for our wedding, and when we told Gil that he was sooo open to working within our budget. He had the most amazing ideas and transformed my crappy venue into a Mid-Summer nights dream. Day of the wedding he encountered some difficulties with the venue, but he made everything work!! My flowers were unbelievably beautiful, and they were delivered on time and lasted almost an entire month after. I have to say that hiring Gil was one of the best decisions I made when planning my wedding. He was not pushy, overbearing, or bitchy at all. He does amazing work for an amazing price and at the end of the day he goes above and beyond to make you day special...

Gil Sosa was AMAZING. My wedding planner recommended him and had all the contact with him, so I never actually met him or even spoke to him. I found a picture of the prettiest bouquest ever on the web, emailed it to my planner and she used it with Gil Sosa to design all the flowers and decor. I was a little nervous until I got to the church and saw my bouquet. It was even prettier than I imagined and was, in fact, the prettiest bouquest I have ever seen. All of the personal flowers were fantastic. When I got to the reception, I could not believe how pretty the center pieces were. All I can say is that these were all the prettiest flowers I had ever seen. Everyone complimented me on them and asked me who the florist was. I can't recommend him highly enough. Awesome.

B I want to start by saying that communication was terrible but I figured I could deal with it since I had heard so many raves about this man. My flower order consisted of 6 table arrangements (I provided most of the vases for the entire decoration), my bouquet, my MOH bouquet, 2 corsages, 4 buttoniers, 2 altar arrangements, 2 coffee table arrangements and 6 cocktail arrangements, a placecard table arrangement and scattered flowers for the cake, nothing was out of the ordinary, and everything was very simple. I paid $2000 for all these flowers and I was disappointed. I got my bouquets in the morning of the wedding and I wasn’t impressed at all! All the roses seemed to be old… The table arrangements were nice but not impressive, it consisted of a tall vase and 3 other vases around it. The surrounding vases were submerged flowers which we never discussed and I don’t even like. The altar arrangements were nice and big, the only thing was that I clearly specified in both of our meetings that I didn’t want cala lilies because those are the flowers that are used for dead people in my country. For the lounge furniture coffee table, I paid $50 for a banana leaf and an orchid. I am not sure I would use Gil again… I realized that because he does this on the side, he doesn’t take the time or care to fully understand what you like and what your expectations are.

I choose him because his work is top-notch and his prices are not ;) At my first meeting with him he was really funny and showed my sister and I tons of pictures around my color scheme and suggested I change my centerpieces (see above color inspiration picture) as they wouldn't go well with the venue. I was hesitant at first because I felt that he was pushing what I think to be his signature centerpiece, but after seeing the demo at my venue I completely agree w/ his point of view. He isn't the best w/ communication, especially if you're event is months in advance but he was prompt w/ sending out a detailed list and pricing of the floral arrangements and bouquets discussed. He also informed me of when he received payment. Also, he was on time at the trial, something he prides himself in.His son's wedding was actually a week before mine and he was kind enough to invite me and his other clients to view the reception decor a day before, which was absolutely breathtaking and stunning.The week of my wedding Gil called to follow-up and review the contract detail by detail.Wedding Day Review: When I arrived at the church (30 minutes early and a mass was going on) I contacted Gil via phone and asked about my bouquet and bridal party flowers, he said his staff was waiting for the mass to end to setup the altar pieces and provide us w/ the flowers. They absolutely delivered and the bouquet looked fantastic and was really heavy! The ribbon was done beautifully as was that of my bridal party's bouquets. The boutonnieres were also superb. The altar arrangements looks awesome, but the church placed those BEHIND the altar table and not on its sides :-(At the reception, the centerpieces were so elegant and looked wicked with vase containing the blue water and long orchid stem. The sweetheart table looked just like the original floral arrangement I showed Gil at our first meeting but in ivory and included orchids too! The cake table was just as beautiful with a variety of orchids surrounding the cake. Finally, behind the sweetheart table there's a fireplace mantle that Gil decorated just beautifully.Gil actually made the centerpiece arrangements on-site and was so generous with the flowers he put on display that made the reception look posh :) He truly delivered and used more flowers than what I paid for, which I am truly grateful. I would highly recommend Gil and use him again if I have a major event and require floral arrangements.Overall Grade: A+

My flowers were absolutely amazing! They were a huge hit with all of the guests also. People were practically fighting over the centerpieces to take them home. They really transformed the room and made it look so beautiful and elegant. My bouquet was breathtaking! It was suuuuper heavy too, which means they were good flowers! It's been 2 weeks and it's in my refrigerator and still looks very pretty. It was exactly what I wanted: it was very elegant but it stood out from my dress and everything else. His prices were unbeatable for the type of flowers I got! His work is amazing and he really pulls through for you in the end! HIGHLY recommended!
