I did meet with one of the assistants and did not have a good experience. Don't get me wrong, the photos looked amazing and I’ve seen their beautiful work at various events. After I explained our ideas and showed sample clips of what we wanted she came up with an estimate that was extremely out of range from other florists. When I attempted to figure out why the quote was so high, she shook her head and said that's just how much it costs. She then dismissed me and began talking to another client that was making a payment. There were no follow up calls after our appointment… I was very disappointed.

Meeting Lovorka, the owner of flowersbylaurel was a peak experience. With over 20 years of experience and her flair for perfection she immediately was my choice for the wedding designer for the flowers. It was my son's wedding and I was in complete charge of all the details and choices of vendors because he and his lovely bride-to-be live in Panama. The wedding was being held at La Venta Inn, a magnificent location and Tim from La Venta had a list of vendor resources for me to explore. My appointment with Lovorka was a delight. It was so easy to find the flowers we wanted because of the system of reviewing photos on her personal online software. We discussed colors and type of flowers and what we would need for the bride, groom, wedding party, tables, decorating the gazebo where they would be married and more. When my son and his fiance arrived in L.A. right before the wedding and we had a meeting at flowersbylaurel to review the flowers and designs. The bride had some of her own ideas and we integrated them into the final choices. What a fabulous experience working with a person like Lovorka that is so peaceful, calming and creative and experienced. The wedding was December 20, 2008 and the flowers exceeded our expectations. They were gorgeous and perfectly placed. The flower girl was four years old and the charm of her head piece and small floral basket was unforgetable. Everything was so beautiful. I would highly recommend to anyone for any affair that if you want a carefree, extraordinary event use Lovorka at flowersbylaurel in Redondo Beach.

They worked with me. I told them my ideas, showed them sample pictures and they in turn had a great database of pictures from previous weddings to which I could say, "yes, exactly like that!" Working together, we found exactly the flowers and types of bouquets, arrangements and gazebo designs I was looking for. They worked with my odd requests, like putting the table bouquets in mason jars I provided, incorporating sea glass in the flowers and cutting up a capiz shell curtain to hang from the gazebo. On the day, everything was done exactly right and they were there on time and made sure I was happy before they left. Their price was in the middle of three I met with. Flowers are never cheap, but I highly recommend them.

Flowers by Laurel is the absolute best choice for your wedding day or any special event. Lovorka truly feels the moment, and makes it as special as if it were her own family. She will take lots of time to walk you through what you want your flowers to look like, and what overall look you are trying to create. She does not rush you through the process, but truly takes the time to get to know what you want and how you ultimately picture it in the end. She did not try to upsell me a lot of things that I may not need, but at the same time, remembered to ask me about all the odds and ends that slipped my mind! I felt 100% confident in her abilities and her artistic eye. On the day of the wedding, I was not surprised to see that everything was perfectly arranged, exactly as we discussed, and as I pictured. And, I never for a moment, worried that the flowers wouldn't show up or wouldn't be late. You will not regret working with this wonderful, wonderful lady and her lovely team! They are great!
