As the mother of the bride, I cannot express how grateful I am to you for making the wedding so absolutely perfect. I knew that the whole evening was in very good hands under your expert supervision and that of your able assistant. Everything was more than perfect and I can never thank you enough for making this very special day that much more special. We hired Myrna to be our two month out Wedding Coordinator/Planner but she kindly began helping us earlier than our contract had stated, first by helping us find our wedding invitations. She saved us a ton of money- not only with our invitations, but by referring us to our Florist and DJ! Each of the vendors she recommended did an outstanding job for hundreds of dollars less than other vendors I had researched. She truly has her clients best interests at heart and doesn't leave one detail overlooked. She guided us through all the wedding planning craziness and made things so smooth and relaxed. From coordinating with the vendors, creating a timeline and just being there to tie up any loose ends, she made our event a night we will truly remember. For All Occasions… and then some! Little did I know when I hired Myrna Hyman from For All Occasions what she and I would be dealing with when it came to planning my wedding. There is no way we could have predicted an earthquake, Hurricane Irene and my big day all in the same week. But low and behold, all three events occurred, each one a huge event in its own right.
With Myrna’s help, advice and support, I had the perfect wedding planned. Over the eight month preparation period, Myrna had provided me with excellent recommendations for vendors (all of which delivered above and beyond my expectations), plus saved me quite a bit of money. Her knowledge of the industry and contacts made everything so much easier. As you know, planning a wedding is not easy. Vendors are usually about “what is in it for me”. But Myrna was always all about “what’s in it for Liz and Eric”. We were her top concern and that was the most comforting thing.
Then came the week of our wedding, and everything we had planned for started to quickly unravel. Guests started to call and cancel because of fear of traveling, our officiate wanted to perform the ceremony early, the band wanted to be gone by 10PM (they were supposed to play until 11:30PM), and the venue wanted to move the entire timeline up so they could cook the food early in case the power went out, just to name a few things. But Myrna never lost her cool or professionalism and made everything as memorable as can be. From rearranging the place cards and shifting around our reception layout to coordinating the food orders and making sure Eric and I kept on smiling through it all, Myrna was the best gift we could have asked for. She even help plan the wedding shot of the night, Eric and me in the rain under a clear umbrella alone in the courtyard.
My wedding was the best night of my life, with memories that will last forever and a few stories a person couldn’t make up no matter how hard they tried. And none of it would have been possible without Myrna. My wedding wasn’t just a job to her and I wasn’t just a client. I consider Myrna, as does my husband and our families, part of our family. There is no way we could have coordinated such an amazing event without her know-how and support.

I recently got married and used Myrna and the "For all Occassions" team. We hired Myrna as a wedding coordinator. She helped us order our wedding invitations, cocktail napkins, and place cards. She had many books and different resources to help us in making our decision. Additionally, she was able to provide us with a discount from the book price. Myrna and her team also helped us the month leading up to the wedding. She helped us create a timeline, discuss details for the day and connected with our previously chosen vendors. On the day of, she arrived around noon for a 5:30 ceremony and helped set up the room and made sure all the details ran smoothly during the wedding ceremony and reception. Myrna and her team were extremely professional, organized, and had a lot of experience making sure that everything was done smoothly! We had our reception at Eastern Market in DC. All of our vendors were brought in from outside due to the fact that they don't have preferred vendors. It was great because we were able to pick our own vendors however we realized about 2 months before the wedding that it was also very hard to coordinate. We received Myrna's name through a referral. She was on top of contacting all of the vendors and coordinating everyone. She offered great advice as well and suggested things that we had not thought of. Our wedding day went off without a hitch. We were able to enjoy and be a part of the celebration, and did not have to worry about a thing. My husband and I both agree that it was the best day of our lives. Myrna was unbelievable!!!!!!!! I asked her to be my "month of" coordinator and she made my wedding perfect. I kept her in the loop earlier than the month before (per her request at no additional cost) so the month/week/day before and day of turned out absolutely perfect. I had many different vendors (105), ideas, DIY 'items', etc. for her to juggle and she handled them better than I could have (thank goodness)! And anything that came up the day of was handled with absolutely no stress to me. I would absolutely recommend Myrna and her assistants to help in any capacity that a bride and groom can fit into their budget. I approached Myrna when I was still deciding whether I would have my wedding in D.C. or where I live in FL. (I spent 4 months trying to make this decision on my own) Myrna helped plan my Matron of Honor's wedding a few years back so I already knew she was a star and would take great care of me and my now husband. She helped me select my wedding venue, Carnegie Institute (which I immediately fell in love with) in a matter of days and only after only speaking with me a few times so I was happy to be in good hands and clearly needed the help! Myrna took us through the whirlwind wedding planning process, made it fun, and reminded us to relax and let her take care of certain details. I honestly don't know how people have weddings without a planner. I had so many questions that only she could answer! Myrna helped us select our vendors, write our invitations, programs, coordinate babysitters for the kids at the wedding etc. She also devoted a lot of time to us whenever we were in town which wasn't all that often so we had marathon meetings with vendors etc and Myrna came to all. She helped me figure out what the most important aspects of my wedding should be. Although, I didn't hire a wedding coordinator (as my venue provided an event coordinator), I would highly recommend Myrna to anyone. Myrna is a must have at your next event!
A couple of months before my wedding, things started to get hectic. My family started pressuring me about a wedding planner because they knew I needed it. Not wanted to spend more money that we hadn't accounted for, I was VERY reluctant, but i had to make my parents happy....right?!! So I looked on Wedding Wire, and chose a few people. I emailed three people and Myrna was the first to get back to me. In her initial email I already felt at ease. I was bummed when she told me she had a personal committment, but she felt like she could still handle it. Still reluctant, my mom and I met her, and immediately I was sold.
Myrna knows what she is doing and she is well connected. She knew all of my vendors, and was on top of everything! We had tons of communication through email and she met me personally as needed. At the end of the day....I DIDN'T WORRY ABOUT A THING, and I owe that to Myrna and her team.
Myrna is TOTALLY affordable! AND....she did my menu cards, place cards, and programs which turned out amazing! Don't let other companies take advantage of the fact that you are getting married...shop around, and check out Myrna...she won't let you down!
A piece of advice to brides...ENJOY EVERY MINUTE OF YOUR DAY!!! I cannot stress enough how soaking up every minute is so important. The day really does fly by, and at the end of it all, you think "man Ill never have another wedding or day like this" Take in all the memories of the day...and ENJOY IT :-) Set yourself up so that all you have to do it sit back and soak it all up, and do your family a favor and let them enjoy it too because its a big day for them too...(ie...you need someone like Myrna)

Myrna from FAO was extremely helpful and guided us along the wedding planning process. I knew that my work was going to be too busy during the time I was to plan my wedding, so I looked to Myrna for help. Told her the budget we were thinking and she worked with us in suggesting vendors she's worked with and knows very well. The vendors she suggested were wonderful and worked within our budget. I was engaged in late Nov. and managed to lock down a wedding site and vendors to use by February; way ahead of schedule. Everything fell into place quickly, and it was very organized. I was able to stay focused at work knowing Myrna was there keeping me informed, helping with anything I needed, and reminding me that we were on track or ahead of schedule and not to worry. The support and guidance Myrna shared was terrific. She was very responsive and communicated very well. She kept on top of things throughout the weeks and months we worked together. When we asked about how other people did things, she would give us ideas, but always came back to making sure it was what we wanted. One thing I did like was that when we offered an idea there were times that she told us that we really shouldn't do that or that it wouldn't be good and would give reasons why. That type of insight and help was just what we needed. After all, she's the wedding pro! She did exactly what we needed her to do and she worked with our creative elements that we wanted included. I am so happy to have found Myrna to help with our wedding. For two people who didn't have time to plan a wedding or know where to begin, For All Occasions was the answer. We had a superb wedding and our guests all raved about how they had a great time. Thanks to Myrna, I didn't worry about anything on the wedding day because I knew she was there and had everything under control. The day before the wedding, I told my mom that I knew I didn't have to worry about the wedding because Myrna would take care of any problems that occurred. Truth be told, I don't even know of any problems that occurred on the wedding day because Myrna took care of them! Myrna and her assistants took perfect care of us on the wedding day - making sure we got food from the cocktail party, serving us dinner first (going to the buffet and getting our food themselves), telling us where we needed to be so we didn't even need to think about the schedule - we only had to enjoy! We loved Myrna so much that we were so glad our photographers got a photo of her and my mom can't wait to go out to lunch with her when she visits me!
We looked up a few other wedding planners and found that Myrna's prices were better. In addition, we really liked Myrna's straight-forward personality. Myrna is exactly what we were looking for in a wedding planner. She clearly expresses her opinions and expertise, but will always defer to what her couple wants. For example, she told us that few people were doing receiving lines and she didn't recommend them because, particularly when the ceremony and reception are in the same location, they take up a lot of time. However, if we had wanted to go with a receiving line, she would have made sure it went perfectly!
Even though we only contracted with Myrna for the day of wedding coordination, she was extremely helpful in recommending vendors - she recommended my hair stylist and our transportation vendor - and we got a discount with our amazing officiant (Julie Price of Creative Ceremony) because she likes working with Myrna so much! She also answered all of our etiquette questions and was the voice of reason we needed!

Hiring Myrna at For All Occasions for the full planning package was the best decision we made for our wedding. Planning a wedding in Arlington from Iowa was going to be next to impossible, but she made it easy and was able to meet over Skype. She helped us stay within our budget by telling us of vendors that would fit within it. She has such a great relationship with so many vendors, that we had plenty of choices to make our wedding perfect. She and her assistants made our wedding day run smoothly so we could enjoy it. We received so many complements on how smooth everything ran and people kept commenting on how calm and relaxed I was the entire day.

Myrna is worth her weight in gold, or whatever the most expensive precious metal is that day. We contacted her for assistance as a day-of-coordinator, but she provided much more than that. Through her professional contacts and business, we were able to obtain wedding invitations, chairs, and gifts for ushers/best man/matron of honor/reader at a substantial discount. But her services as a coordinator were the best value of all. Every meeting that we had with her was so useful and helped us feel comfortable that we were moving forward and meeting deadlines. I used Myrna as a "day of coordinator" and was extremely pleased with her services. I met with her two weeks before the wedding and we walked through the events of the day. I thought I was pretty well prepared for the day but was SO pleased with the questions she asked me and quickly realized the benefit of having a professional manage our big day. From organizing the vendors schedule (cake delivery, florist, hair and make up arrival, photographer arrival, etc...), to confirming the time schedule of the reception events she made sure that everything ran smoothly. Myrna did all the worrying for me - all I had to do was show up and enjoy the day with my new husband and family and friends.

1. Professionalism - she takes her job seriously and has a lot of experience she is bringing to the table

Myrna was absolutely great! She is very experienced and took care of everything. My husband and I got the full package she offers (she has many packages to choose from) where she does everything you ask. We'd meet with her regularly and she was always on top of everything and would remind us of details we didn't even think off thus saving us a lot of panic and trouble later. I really liked her because she listened to us. There are horror stories of wedding planners who are constantly badgering you into what they think you should do. Myrna was always professional and yet approachable and friendly. She'd only offer her opinion if you asked for it or unless she thought it was a major mistake. But she let you have your opinion and carried that out. Also she was very strict to the budget we gave. She didn't try to inflate our budget at all but was very concerned about keeping within our spending limit. Myrna is also very responsive. I'd always get an email within a day and she'd always let me know ahead of time if she was out of town for a few days and would still try hard to check her email. She is always very flexible as far as times to meet and changes in plans. We changed the wedding date and moved it up 3 weeks and she was fine. She didn't panic or anything. She just immediately began calling and informing the vendors. On that note, she had a huge amount of vendors that she knew were reputable and of various price points. She also got discounts on many items like invitations, wedding favors etc. She is a little on the expensive side I think, but I also think it is pretty much worth it especially if you have a complicated wedding. Overall she is very calming and you feel safe being with her. I have confidence that she'll be great for you too!

I don't even know where to begin.... When my husband and I got engaged he was stationed in California and I was out in Virginia, at the time I was a manager in retail so I worked crazy hours and I just knew that trying to plan a wedding without the help of someone
who actually knew what they were doing was madness so I decided to call Myrna at For all occasions. I had picked up a pamphlet from a bridal boutique and I was so excited to find that she was only a ten minute drive from my house!!! Myrna and I have known each other and have been planning weddings together for almost five years! When my husband and I got engaged, she was the only one who I trusted with my wedding invitations! The most difficult part was getting my husband to agree to having hot pink as an accent color! Once that bridge was crossed, I looked through a few books and chose an invitation that represented the personalities of my husband and I. I choose For All Occasions after I found them online, noticed that they were based 5 minutes from my home, and after meeting with Myrna.
I was an organized bride who felt that my dress, the pictures, and the taste of the cake were the 3 most important things and I was pretty much flexible about everything else (except for the groom, of course)... but Myrna was so patient with me after the wedding date moved (twice) and my constant changes with invitations, cake, reception decor, other vendors, flowers, bridal party, etc. She was also able to help me save money with her vendor contacts, which also made me feel secure with the vendor decisions that we made.
I realized that she was worth EVERY PENNY on the day of the wedding! It wasn't flawless but she worked a couple of miracles and I felt at peace knowing that she was taking care of everything.

My husband and I had the most amazing time on our wedding day and we attribute that to Myrna (For All Occasions). We hired Myrna as our day-of / month-of wedding coordinator and got so much more than that for our money. Myrna at For All Occasions was more than awesome when it came to our stationary needs for our wedding. We met with her several times to go through dozens of invitation books and asked for several proofs to make sure the wording was the way we wanted - she was always helpful, accomodating, and honest with her opinion and about the price! She can fit any budget and make it beautiful and offers a discount on almost everything!
We also ordered our programs and thank you cards (seperate companies) which turned out great and were delivered in no time directly to us!
Her office is decked out with examples of the works she's done and other services she provides such as wedding planning and favors, etc. She truly knows what she's doing! I was referred by a friend and have referred two friends since because she's just that great. I know I'll continue going to her for the big events in our future that will require announcments, invitations, and other specialty stationary!

We came to Myrna with an EXTREMELY limited budget for this region. Where other planners politely laughed and refused our business, Myrna said, "No problem!" She worked diligently with us for 9 months. She remained very conscious of our budget, pinpointing areas where we wanted to splurge and, conversely, helping us cut back in other areas. Myrna did an absolutely wonderful job coordinating my special day. My husband and I actually hired her about 2 ½ months before our wedding. She helped us sort out all of the vendor details, which was quite a task. My church accidentally double booked the ceremonyit all worked out in the end, but definitely caused a bit of stressso all of my vendor contract times and locations were wrong. Myrna took extra care to make sure everyone was up to date and that all of my contracts were corrected. When one vendor (the hotel where guests were staying) tried to quote me a different price than they originally offered to Myrna, she immediately contacted the person involved and remedied the situation.
Myrna helped my husband and I work through minutiae that hadn't even crossed our minds. She created timelines and a strong rapport with all my vendors. I had every confidence leading up to the "big-day" that Myrna would help make it perfect, which she definitely accomplished. FAQ for For All Occasions
1. Make sure to set a budget and try to stick to it.
2. Realize that planners CAN and WILL SAVE you time, energy and money, so do hire one. If nothing else, make sure to hire a coordinator so you and your families can be guests and not have to worry about all the last minute details.
3. If your vendors are not recommended by a planner, do make sure that you ask for references and meet the vendor in person before
signing a contract.
4. If usuing a friend's services(which I do not recommend) make sure to have a signed contract.
5. If wanting an outdoor ceremony, Always have a back-up plan.
