Fred Fox Photography and Video

We actually didn't interview any other photographers than Fred Fox. I had just moved to Illinois from CA and had 4 months to finalize the details to our wedding. I was actually looking at it from a cost perspective first. I inquired to get more information regarding their services and actually got a call back from a photographer directly. We actually were on our way to the hospital as my future father in law was there and told him that we would have to call him back...when we finally made our appointment to review their services, I found out that the photographer that called me was one that worked alot at our venue, it was kismet! We met with Dennis a few days before the wedding to let him know what kind of pictures we wanted and concerns that we had and we took great notes and by the time the wedding day came, he was busy capturing our wonderful memories...we gave us a sample of pictures on my facebook so that the people who couldn't attend could see how great the wedding was. Not only is Dennis a great photograher, he was a great partner in our photographic wedding journey! I would recommend Fred Fox Studios for anyone and especially Dennis!

We worked with Fred Fox (Luis in Northbrook) on our video, we haven't seen the final thing yet but I am sure it will be GREAT. Down fall, at times less responsive. Upside - goes the extra mile, works hard, creative, fun, easy to work with and has cinematography type talent! Would definitely recommend!

Our experience with Fred Fox was the WORST ever!!! We talked a lot what we wanted to see in our pictures and video before the wedding but we got everything wrong! That was big mistake to work with them - there are so many great photographers and videographers for less price! Our video wasn't made creative. The editing is terrible. It seems like the person who made the video just cut pieces of it and put it together didn't even look, and didn't even care what result is going to be. And after that they told us that they could fix it, but we need pay for it. Why do we need to pay for fixing their mistakes? And before the wedding we told that we want to have raw footage and we paid for it, but after the wedding they send us just one DVD with wedding video without the raw footage, and when we called them about that they told us that we didn't pay for it. There are no professional people in Fred Fox - they liars, and they don't care about their clients. They ruined our memories and wasted our money. Now I need to pay somebody else to fix their mistakes!!! If I just could change it I WOULD NEVER WORK WITH FRED FOX!!!

Jose G. was our photographer for my wedding on July 31, 2010 and we worked with the staff at their Schaumburg location. Anytime I have called there, they are very helpful and friendly. We were able to choose our photographer since we had a few recommendations from friends. Jose was wonderful. We have tons of great photographs for the day. He called the Monday before the wedding and took the time to ask who was in the bridal party, who are family members were, and many other things. I was confident he would get all the pictures I was hoping for and he did. He was very personable all day long and we kept having people come up to us during the wedding commenting on how great he was.

Absolutely loved the photographer I used: Ruben Ramos. He did such a good job in getting my bridal party to take pictures. He was very creative in taking pictures as well, so they didn't all look the same or posed.I love my pictures and am working on my album currently. Its hard to decide which pictures to choose because I love them all!You definately get what you pay for! Quality.

In the office, Luci was great to work with - she was patient and flexible, and answered all of our questions. We appreciated that she did not try to push us to buy a more expensive package. Our photographer, Claudio V, was phenomenal - our pictures are fantastic, and Claudio was relaxed and professional throughout the day. Highly recommended!!

The photographer at my nephew's wedding was especially personal. Our family picture turned out so beautiful. It was of my mom, me, and my six siblings. I will cherish it forever. All of our pictures were superb, good quality, and value. My order was completed and shipped promptly.

The photographer and videographer that attended my wedding were extremely professional and attended to all of our needs. Be vocal! Let them know what you want and what kind of pictures you expect! Leave the rest up to them and don't forget to enjoy your perfect day!

My husband and I are extremely happy with our wedding pictures and very happy that we chose Fred Fox Studios. Everybody was very nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend Fred Fox to all my friends. Thank you for giving us such beautiful memories.

Fred Fox was amazing. I had the chance to work with photographer Abby, while my husband worked with Rich. Both photographers were outstanding. Both Abby and Rich were very assertive to what our needs were and what we wanted. They took the time to work with us and were very patient. They both did call a week before the wedding and asked us what our plans were for the ceremony and reception, as well as the "get ready spot". They were on time, and actually early. They were respectful. I would recommend both Rich and Abby...and Fred Fox to anyone for any type of occasion.

We used Ruben Ramos and he was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Our pictures are beautiful, which you can tell from his profile on their website. What made Ruben stand out was how much fun he was. I was very stressed prior to our wedding and during the ceremony. He spend 3 hours going around our venue with us taking pictures and it was SO MUCH FUN! It made me relaxed and able to chill out and enjoy our reception to the fullest. I would highly recommend him to any bride, and I cannot say enough for what a great photographer he is. Taking pictures with him was one of my favorite parts of our wedding and they are beautiful. Hire Ruben!

Fred Fox did a wonderful job and captured all the precious moments of our wedding day!

I found that our photographer was very helpful and did a great job. However, I've found that the customer service of the company itself was no so helpful or good. I have been pushed off several times asking about an engagement picture that was taken prior to the wedding that was supposed to be at our reception that we never received. I am very disappointed in that aspect, but I feel that our pictures are a good representation of our day. I am looking forward to receiving our album.

I could not have asked for more. Our photographer was so wonderful. By the end of the evening I felt like he was part of our family. I would highly recommend Fred Fox!

The photography turned out great. However, the timeline given to me for the album was about half the time it really takes. This was disappointing, however the design of the album is great.

We chose Fred Fox because we were very pleased with the work they did at my sisters wedding a few years ago. We have 2 photographers and I loved them - Steve and Joe were amazing. They were flexible, easy going and respectful. We didn't want too many formal pictures, but told them to just go with the flow. Some of the older generation people really wanted the formals, so Joe took some wonderful formals. The kids were acting goofy and absolutely adorable, and they caught it for us! I love the easy online ordering, even though it is expensive. We had a fun non-traditional wedding and the photographers captured that vibe in our photos. There were a million things that went wrong at our wedding, and I am so glad Joe and Steve were smart enough NOT to capture that stuff!

The staff at the Naperville location was wonderful. We enjoyed working with Ellen; she is very knowledgeable and friendly. We also got a great deal because our wedding was on a Friday. Our wedding album is fabulous, we truly love it. Tip: the sooner you submit your proof choices, the sooner you get your album.

The problem with using a place like Fred Fox is that you don't really know what you're going to get. We've had some trouble with the people at the Northbrook studio not answering the phone or calling back, and sometimes being less than friendly. We got a free engagement photo session with our photo package, and I am SO glad it was free. The photographer was rude, abrupt, and completely disinterested. After introductions and shaking hands (while he was speaking to someone else) we drove to where we were having the pictures done. When we got there five minutes later, he asked our names again because he had forgotten! He put us in a bunch of awkward, completely unnatural poses--and when we saw the proofs, they were all awkward and completely unnatural pictures! We never ordered any of those and ended up taking our own with a tripod. After this, we were nervous about our wedding photos, and were so relieved when we finally talked to Jose! He called to set up an appointment, and we met him at the Schaumburg studio (which is a nicer facility with more professional staff than Northbrook). Jose was fantastic--he told us more than once that he was there to serve us that day and take the pictures we wanted, not the ones he wanted, and he was friendly, helpful and professional on the wedding day. Even guests commented about how nice our photographer was. His pictures are beautiful and we are so pleased! I'd use Fred Fox again, but I'd probably go to the Schaumburg studio and I'd *definitely* request Jose!

The photographers come recommended by the Knot. Their website is very useful in finding a photographer that suits my style in ideal photography. When going to the studios, we were always treated with respect and smiles. I can't wait to see how my album turns out.

We sincerely regret using Fred Fox as our wedding day photographer. Let's see, where do I start... When the photographer showed up at my house, he hung out in kitchen and ate and bs'ed with the wedding party instead of taking photos. We specifically told him we wanted limited pictures at the church after the ceremony because we wanted to take them at our reception site, but he refused to listen and we ended up having to pay more for the limo because we were at the church for so long. I (the bride) had to tell the photographer that I wanted a picture with my brothers and sister. This is a shot that I specified in the wedding questionnaire that they had us fill out 6 months before the wedding and I also assumed that it was a standard photo the photographer would take without me having to ask. Also, the only picture I have with my family my eyes are closed. In the age of digital cameras, how does that happen? We felt he was lazy and just didn't care. We had a standard 5 and a half hour reception and the photographer tried to leave with 2 hours left. I told him I paid until the end of the reception and he must stay or I will be on the phone with Fred Fox first thing in the morning. Needless to say, he stayed. Also, he sat down and ate the entire time our guests were eating. We understood he would eat, but we figured he'd eat quickly and take the table shots we asked for. He also took only about 800 pictures. When we expressed our frustration with the limited photos he took, Fred Fox admitted the average number of pictures taken at a wedding should be about 1300. When we booked our wedding, Fred Fox had a promotion going on where you received 10% back for any pictures ordered from your wedding. So for example, if your guests purchased $750 worth of pictures, you'd receive a check for $75. When we asked about this promotion, the woman working at the Orland Park office did not know about it so she called corporate. After she got off the phone, she said laughing, “Oh yea, we did have that going on at one time, but if people don't ask about it, we don't give it to them." I don't know what's worse, the shadiness or the stupidity. We finally did get the $78 check from them and it BOUNCED! I was furious, so I went in to talk to them about it. The same woman felt the need to explain why checks bounced, like I didn't know. As I was complaining to her about their incompetency, she had the nerve to ask me "Are you Italian?" which really upset me. I am Italian by the way.We expressed our disappointment with Fred Fox photography in the survey they provided. Fred Fox himself did call us. However, we did not feel he cared about our situation. He did offer for us to re-take pictures at our reception site, but we declined because of the cost for my husband to rent another tux, get my hair and makeup done, etc. I let him know, I did not want any monetary reimbursements because nothing will ever bring back our wedding day. He did some fazed with our complaints; he probably couldn't wait to get back on the golf course.

I've seen numerous weddings that have been shot by Fred Fox photographers, so when we got engaged I had no hesitation at heading over and booking them. Now that it's all over, I've debated whether I made the right decision. Everything before the wedding was great. The service was great, any questions I had were answered, etc. The day of the wedding, things started to go downhill. I would NOT reccommend Anna as a photographer for anyone. She was okay to me, but I found out after the fact was rude to my family and friends. After the wedding as we walked back to take pictures, a guest stopped to tell me congrats and Anna made sure to come back to literally yell at me because we had to take pictures. Many BIG pictures of the day were missed (the groom dancing with the mom - there were 3 pictures, none of their faces; the garter toss; my brother giving me away!!!; etc). Pictures that my family and I had requested were not taken, though we were told that we would "definitely get pictures of that". There was one picture taken of each family member walking in, even though they were bad pictures - (barely focused, arms over faces, etc). Important people in my life were barely photographed (there was ONE picture of my mom at my wedding, and all those of my sister (my MOH) were from the back). They started packing up to leave before even seeing if there were any other pictures we wanted taken (backdrop or candid). In the end, we do have some good pictures, but I am HIGHLY disappointed in the pictures we did receive. Maybe give Fred Fox a try, but definitely DO NOT book Anna.

Fred Fox was fantastic! Our photographer was Greg D. and he was the best! Every picture he took came out incredible. We couldn't have been happier with the photography. It was by far the best thing about our wedding. Greg was so nice and made everyone feel really comfortable. Also, we got to keep our proof books and got all our photos on cd!

We used Fred Fox out of Naperville for our wedding photographer, and they did an amazing Job! Abby was our primary photographer, and She was phenomanal! We had a number of pictures that we knew we would want taken, and she went above and beyond what I had expected. We ended up with over 1,200 absolutely gorgeous pictures. She was very professional, and all of our guests said she was very friendly and wonderful at what she did! Fred fox is not a cheap company to use, but you really get what you pay for! I highly recommend Fred Fox and Abby!

When it came to planning our wedding, we spared no expense when it came to what we felt were the most important aspects of our day: entertainment and PHOTOGRAPHY. Both our parents had very few photos from their weddings because they hired friends who lost most of their pictures. We didn't want this for our wedding. A friend of ours had used Fred Fox photography for her wedding and her photos were exquisite. My husband was her DJ and he worked directly with the photographer that day and he said they were great to work with. From our first meeting, the staff was very thorough, professional, and helpful. We are a young couple, fans of contemporary photography, and Fred Fox does an amazing job with their albums. The day of the wedding, the photographers took about 2000 pictures total and were never intrusive. Make no mistake, we spent a lot of money, but in the end, you get what you pay for and the memories we captured thanks to Fred Fox will last a lifetime. The website was a great tool for viewing their photographers portfolios. Fred Fox does have good deals from time to time as well. For instance, we spoke with one of their reps at a bridal expo and they had a deal that if you booked by a certain date, you could get a CD with all unedited files and your proofs for free.

I was so pleased with everything. They did a wonderful job on my pictures and video. I have already recommended them to several friends and my sister who is getting married!

They are a bit pricy, but the pictures turned out beautiful! I loved the photo journalistic view that they took with my pictures.

Fred Fox was really great to work with, the staff always answered all of our questions before the wedding. We got to talk personally to our photographer before the wedding and make requests for certain pictures. Our photographer took many pictures of our day. Our digital album looks great and looks very modern.

Fred Fox does beautiful work and know the grounds very well. That only enhances your wedding day with a photographer that can get the best shots because they know the place so well. We have several of their albums here to look at. The staff is always friendly and a pleasure to work with.
