About Music Productions

My husband and I hired About Music Productions for our San Diego wedding. I should first say, that our wedding wasn't the typical wedding because we were having two full traditional ceremonies, some of it outside, some of it inside and it lasted from 2-11. And with all that said, prior to the wedding, Gary was amazing at getting back to us in a timely manner, at helping us find music for our ceremony, and on the day of the wedding Gary was great at providing the best music throughout the day and at handling unexpected situations like a cousin wanting to do a 4 minute dance solo during dinner.

I can't say enough how awesome About Music Productions are. Every single guest that attended our wedding said they had an AMAZING time. The staff at the venue said they haven't had a wedding like ours in such a long time. I partly think that this is because of About Music Productions. I didn't sit down once. I took a moment to survey the room during the reception and EVERYONE was dancing even my dad, and I've never seen my dad even tap a toe before. If I ever need a DJ and a musician in the future, I will be calling Gary at About Music Productions. Thank you guys for helping us great such an unforgettable day!

I had heard Gary Rich play at our corporate event, and thought he'd be perfect for my cousin's wedding, and he was! He plays Guitar, Piano and Vocal beautifully, and played beautiful music at her ceremony, cocktails and at the reception. I would highly recommend him again!

We highly recommend Gary Rich as a DJ/MC. From the beginning, Gary was always very responsive and extremely professional. We met a month before the wedding to go over all the details and Gary was flexible and listened to all our requests. On the day of the wedding, the music and flow of everything went so smoothly. The music was great!! Gary also Emceed the reception and all went great. Our guests kept saying how awesome the music was - a few of them said they are keeping him in mind when they get married in the future. Thanks for a great evening Gary!

About Music Productions was fabulous throughout the wedding planning process. We had Gary Rich who was extremely organized and efficient the day of our wedding. He played all the songs we had planned out, as well some others that were perfect. He fielded requests and was very responsive the night of the wedding without being in your face or cheesy. We had classical Guitar and Violin at the ceremony, Jazz Piano and Sax for cocktails and a 4-piece Band with DJ/MC for the reception. We were so happy with the music and overall experience. You know it's a good event when people are asking for our musicians name and number after the wedding. We would 100% recommend About Music Productions weddings, specifically Gary Rich Musician, bandleader and DJ.

Absolutely the best wedding music imaginable. My wife Sue and I got married in San Diego. Gary from About Music came highly recommended and for obvious good reason. It was so refreshing to have a professional who had everything under control. Gary is so polite and wonderful, his years of experience lead us through the whole ceremony and reception and of course, everything went perfectly. We Had Gary play classical guitar for the ceremony, then some of our Beatles favorites for the cocktail hour on guitar. He did DJ for the reception and added live Piano for the dinner hour. Gary did an absolutely AMAZING job at our wedding ceremony and reception!

I got SO many compliments about what an amazing musician and DJ he was. We had a small wedding (about 70 people), so I was a little concerned about getting people on the dance floor, but I shouldn't have worried! From the start, Gary performed and played all the wright music and got everyone on the dance floor having a great time.

Mr. Gary Rich was amazing. I had so much fun at my own wedding because the music was so good! Communication is everything. From the moment I met him things went so smoothly. Whatever little email I sent him, he would reply very promptly. He's a very talented guitarist and DJ and was great with songs and flow of the event. Even when an idea would pop up and I would make a slight change, he replied within minutes. Super job, thanks again.

Gary was the absolute BEST. From the very beginning, his attentive emails and amazing suggestions were TOP NOTCH. He has such a great aesthetic, NOT your typical Musician/DJ!! We loved meeting with him in person, and he instantly understood what we wanted. He turned it OUT for my wedding with fun, upbeat, and awesome music from every generation! We hired Gary for our wedding-- my grandparents were dancing, my friends were dancing, my husband and me couldn't tear ourselves off the dance floor. I was so glad I booked him for the event! Gary was professional, pleasant, and provided a range of music that delighted everyone. his rates are quite reasonable and it was evident that he had been doing weddings and similar events for a long time. all details were covered and well thought out and with careful regard to what the happy couple wanted. that, in and of itself, was a huge relief with so many other worries of details we had to handle

We just used Gary, for our wedding and he was FANTASTIC! Hiring a Band was the scariest part of our wedding because we didn't really know where to start. We knew that we didn't want a traditional wedding, and when we found About Music Pro we knew we'd found a good company! We met with Gary and discussed the process as well as songs we liked, and he helped us with our timeline as well as finding songs for certain events during the evening. He was very accepting of our "must play" songs, and managed to seamlessly work them in to the event! Geat Job!! Thanks again.

We knew we found our DJ/musician after we met with Gary. He is very professional and super responsive! He is very friendly, accessible, organized and thorough. Gary knows his stuff and has been doing this a long time. We ended up using him for DJ/MC at our reception and as a pianist for our ceremony, and couldn't be happier. He came to us as recommendation from our wedding coordinator. Were so grateful Gary was part of our wedding!

I booked Gary for my wedding and he did a great job. He is professional, and accommodating. He knows how to read crowds and selected the right music to get everybody dancing all night long. My wedding coordinator works with hundreds of DJs and musicians and was very impressed by Gary. I would recommend him to my close friend and family. If you are getting married and need a great DJ/ musician, I would recommend booking Gary.

Gary did an awesome job of performing at our wedding and reception. He played piano for ceremony and cocktails and was our DJ for the reception. He did a super job of announcing and introducing the wedding party. He also helped us with the agenda to make the party flow perfectly. We were exceptionally thrilled with the job he did!

At Our event everybody loved the music and I was surprised at how many people commented on how great the songs were, Gary did a great job playing to the crowd. I wanted a very professional D.J. and musician with a great voice Gary played all the songs we requested. I was so impressed with his performance. It was perfect!

Our crowd loved the music that Gary played! He was able to please the entire crowd and able to read what people wanted to hear, even with the generation gaps that can happen at any event. Outside of special events such as weddings, company parties, etc. he has a great ear for Playing Piano and guitar & vocal, including a great DJ & MC. He has veteran status when it comes to being a great musician and DJ professional. Gary knows his stuff! I would hire him for any event.

I was hoping to find someone who could do more than just DJ for my daughter’s wedding. I contacted About Music Productions and was thrilled to discover that they could provide a customized package. We wanted a cello, violin and guitar trio for the ceremony and cocktails and a DJ for the reception. Gary was so easy to work and always available for questions. I highly recommend About Music. They did a perfect job!

At the last minute the band for our wedding reception canceled on us. I was paralyzed! Thank goodness for Gary @ About Music Productions. He saved the day. His five piece band was extraordinary. They payed lots of great dance music and made it so upbeat and fun! He also was the master of ceremonies at our party and did a great job keeping the flow of the party going.

Gary at About Music was incredible !! We originally were going to do DJ, only. Gary gave us great package deal, so we were able to have live music, as well. That really added a whole new dimension and made it feel so full and alive. We had classical guitar and violin for the ceremony and cocktails, then DJ for the reception. Gary met with us and helped us plan the entire event. He was very professional and well organized. We couldn't believe the quality we got for the price. Gary was recommended by a friend, and he was perfect for what we wanted. He played the piano before and leading into the ceremony, an acoustic guitar at the cocktail hour, and was our dj/mc for the reception. He was very low key in just the right way to provide the appropriate music throughout the entire event. He was very helpful with suggestions for setting up our timeline for the night since he has so much experience with weddings. He didn't have some of the popular music we requested, but he was able to play anything we brought on disc to him.

He was a very good choice for me and my husband, as we don't like pushy DJ's. Gary was nothing like the stereotypical DJ. He was professional and tried to enhance the mood of the evening in a subtle way. His acoustic guitar was perfect when I walked down the aisle, and was willing to work with me and my musician friends on our wishes for the first dance.

Very professional, but he played some music that we didn't like.
