My husband and I were set on getting the best photographers our budget could afford and we are so happy we found Gavin and his wife Judy! They were so amazing, they were flexible prior to the wedding date and the day of. They are also such a fun and easy going couple that made my husband and I feel so comfortable--which was very important to me because I don't particularly like being photographed. They were also hard workers, they were running all over the place trying to capture every single shot, and were excited to do so! They blended so well with our families, which made everyone else feel comfortable too. Last but not least, their pictures are amazing; Gavin is incredible with lighting and Judy is amazing with her eye for detail and her creativity. I would recommend this couple to anyone!

I found Gavin and his wife Judy after another photographer I had been working with backed out to shoot another event. I loved the photojournalistic quality of Gavin's pictures online, but was nervous to book him because my wedding was a traditional Jewish wedding, which he and Judy had never photographed before. My fears disappeared the moment I met them. Aside from the fact that Gavin and Judy are so outgoing and friendly, they listened to me describe the timeline of the wedding and the religiously significant moments for over an hour. They were also really excited about being exposed to the different cultural elements of the wedding. Their excitement was contagious and I booked both of them to photograph my wedding. My nerves didn't disappear entirely, though. I had several more meetings with Gavin to go over the timeline and showed him pictures from other traditional Jewish weddings so he would know what to expect. On the day of the wedding, they were EVERYWHERE (they took over 2000 pictures!). They captured some really amazing shots. I only wish that I had scheduled more time for couple and family photos before or after the wedding to further capitalize on their talents. During the wedding, they indeed captured all of the significant Jewish moments of the ceremony, so my fears were for naught- they will catch everything that you tell them to and more. In fact, my favorite photos are the unexpected ones. I look at my pictures all the time, and can't wait to order an album from them.

My bride and I had a Laguna Beach, CA wedding (even though we're both from the East Coast.) Planning a wedding is difficult enough when it's local. Planning a wedding across the county is an entirely different animal! We had nothing but websites and reviews to go on when selecting our vendors. Gavin Holt was absolutely amazing, in every single sense of the world. He exceed every one of our expectations and I've never been so impressed with photography. A few words to describe the services: Professional, kind, easy going, fun to work with and amazingly talented. Photography was THE MOST important component to our wedding (as we had no video). Gavin was MONEY WELL SPENT. I've never know it possible to capture the very essence of a day with photography, but Gavin somehow did it. We opted to also hire Judy Tran (Gavin's wife) for the day and we were no less impressed. If you're searching for THE BEST, most amazing and artistic photography (some of which could easily qualify as art) then I highly recommend Gavin and Judy.
We have been receiving the most amazing compliments from everyone on Gavin and Judy's work. Their work is something beyond photography... I just wish I had the words to accurately describe it, but I probably wouldn't do it justice. I've honestly never seen such quality and artistic talent in my life. Truly amazing work.
Gavin and Judy made the whole process very easy. They met with us on one of our quick trips out West to talk logistics, were very responsive to any email or phone inquiry we had before and after the wedding. They showed up early on the wedding day, looking professional and with great big smiles. Gavin and Judy love photography and it clearly shows in their work. They possess the kind of talent that can't be taught. You're either born with this level or talent or you don't have it.
Worth every penny and more. Wish we could do it again!

My husband and I live in Washington State and were getting married at Disneyland in California, so all of our vendors, including our photographer, we had to find out of state. My husband found the website for Gavin Photography online and emailed it over to me to consider for our wedding photographer...immediatly viewing the sample wedding (and other) photos on the site, I called Gavin and we ended up talking for an hour and a half! It was like chatting with an old friend. He immediatly made me feel comfortable, and we decided to chose Gavin Photography for our wedding.

He stayed in contact and was easy to talk to during our whole wedding planning process. We all finally met in person on our wedding day and could not have been happier with our choice of photographer. He was so kind and fun, but also stayed calm and "out of the way" in order for us to enjoy our day. He was very flexible with the times of the day and stayed with us until every photo we could ever ask for had been taken.

After the wedding, many of our guests asked how Gavin was related to the family...they were so shocked to know all we had done was find his website on the internet. He was so comfortable with people, he made everyone his instant friend :-)

As for his photos, we received our online "proofs" about 2 weeks after the wedding and they were absolutely amazing. My husband and I both said we couldn't believe how there wasn't one photo we didn't like. Gavin Photography is one of the best wedding photographers as far as we are concerned, and we would recommend them to anyone looking for a photographer for any event! Worth EVERY PENNY!

Gavin and Judy are the best! Gavin was there to shoot my engagement party/tea ceremony as part of the engagement freebie in his pkg. It was great to meet Gavin then and have him meet the bridal party and our families. Gavin and Judy came to the rehearsal lunch to check out the venue the day before so that they could get some idea of shots. On the day of the wedding, they were with me for 12 hours (from 11am to 11pm) and it was great to have them with me. All my guests commented on the beauty and artistry of the pictures (they did a preview slideshow that played on their laptop after dinner) and wanted to hire them! I'm very happy with my choice with Gavin and Judy! Very professional and fun team!

Gavin and his assistant Judy just shot my wedding this past December! Can I just say one word: AMAZING! Not only do they have a fantastic eye for photography, but they have the best personalities. They really make you feel comfortable and that is important on your wedding day. I would recommend them to anyone who is currently searching for a photo journalistic approach for their wedding day photos.

I had the honor in working with Gavin and Judy at a wedding this past December and all I can say is...They are FANTASTIC ! Throughout the entire event, the two of them worked their tails off capturing every single special moment. Immediately after the ceremony they were able to preview their images on-site and every single image was absolutely flawless. Their passion towards photography is revealed through the quality of their work. You would be doing yourself a disservice by not checking them out !

Gavin shot my engagement photos and wedding last year and he was fantastic! He was personable, tireless, and very punctual. He's also easy to reach and responds to your questions right away which is a huge plus for me. I would recommend him to anyone!
