Okay this is going to be long, because we have so much to say about Justin!

Justin is the best! My husband and I were originally going to IPOD DJ our backyard wedding this past May. It wasn't until 2 weeks before the wedding that we freaked out and realized that trying to create a playlist with worthy dance transitions was really, really hard! So we posted an ad on Craigslist looking for a last minute DJ. Justin responded to our post and introduced himself in the most professional manner.

We were planning our Orange County wedding from Seattle, so Justin was so kind to meet up with my In-Laws. He wowed them of course with his professionalism, experience, and sense of humor. They hired him that same night without meeting with anyone else. When we finally had the chance to meet up with him the week of the wedding, we were wowed as well. He helped us narrow down more music choices that complimented the extensive list we had already provided him. He then popped by the house the day before the wedding during our rehearsal, all on his own time. My wedding coordinator cancelled on me last minute so Justin actually jumped right in and helped coordinate the rehearsal, even standing in as my Dad and walked me down the aisle because my Dad was late!

Then on the big day everything went perfectly. Justin was even so helpful as to check up on me and see if I needed a soda with my burger (we had the In & Out truck cater) and gave my husband a fresh beer before he was even done with the first. Justin is total class.

He can improvise like nobody's business! We had always planned on being non-traditional, and had planned on not being formally announced when we entered cocktail hour, not announce the Money dance, etc. But when it came down to it we realized those things were necessary and Justin had no problem hoping on the mic last minute.

The icing on the cake came at the end of the night. Being that my husband and I are native Californians currently living in Seattle we had a soft spot for random Cali music. Justin played the last song for us younger folk to dance to. Next Episode by Dr. Dre. A totally different choice for wedding music but it fit the vibe at the end of the night soooo right. Justin really used his instincts on this one! Then half way through the song he announces " If you're gonna go out, go out big...." He then turns up the music and switches to the explicit lyrics version! I realize this is NOT for everyone, and I believe he knows how to read the couple and the crowds. But for us this was a PRICELESS moment!!! Some neighbors in the nearby community called in a noise complaint and the cops showed up around 11pm, at this time Justin was already packing all the equipment so my husband and I took this chance to create a great photo-op. The cop was very nice and obliged our request, as long as we didn't tag him on Facebook.

Seriously, our wedding was the most un-traditional wedding, but it was so "us". All our friends and family made the day very special and said it was the best wedding ever. We can definitely say without a doubt that Justin MADE the wedding as fun as it was.

Justin is fantastic!!! He is very accommodating and was able to read our guests and know what to play to keep them going! Also, he made some very good suggestions, regarding our program, that we are so very thankful for...it really made the night!

Justin was the greatest... kept the party going and played music that ensured guest of all ages had a great time.

Justin was the greatest! He was really easy to communicate with (despite his hectic schedule) leading up to our wedding. Generations' online planning form also made it so easy to get all the information needed to the the team before our wedding. In fact, we didn't even meet Justin until the day of the wedding, and we couldn't have been happier! Justin was super punctual and set up everything for our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception with time to spare getting to know our bridal party. He was a great MC (keeping US on schedule), relaxed and calm, totally attentive and played music that everyone loved. I didn't think it was possible to keep my grandparents and friends dancing all night, but he did!

Justin was FANTASTIC! He was so easy to work with and professional both in planning and the actual day of the wedding. He was referred to us by a friend, and we are SO SO happy we chose him and Generations entertainment. We got married July 23, 2010 and loved every minute of it.

Justin and the rest of the team at Generations Entertainment were amazing! Without them our wedding would never have been as great as it was. The music, the lighting, the stage presence and MC skills! INCREDIBLE!!! Justin led the party and all of our guests agreed that he was the best. You can't go wrong with Generations Entertainment

We met with Justin and Pete last July. We originally hired Pete, but he let us know about 6 months ago that he moved to Wisconsin and was still able (and more than happy) to do the wedding, but if we preferred someone in town Justin was available. We decided to go ahead and hire Justin and were really really happy we did. He knows TONS about music and is really great about making a lot of suggestions. The online system you use to put in all the music requests is really easy to use. He did an awesome job at our wedding! The music was great and people really had a fun time dancing! :-) He was dressed nicely and handled our guests requests professionally. I would definitely recommend Justin to other brides and grooms!

We used Generations Entertainment for our wedding at the Ojai Valley Inn. Justin was great. He sometimes gets really busy and does not respond to calls/emails immediately which I was concerned w/ as we got closer to the wedding. But he assured me it was a one time thing and he was just busy. He showed up on our wedding day early to assure me he was going to be there and he was great. I heard from the hotel staff that he was one of the most professional DJs they'd seen in a while. He was neatly dressed and I was happy with him. The only thing is I think he played the wrong song during the cake cutting but I honestly don't remember since my wedding day was such a blur but I remember thinking, "this isn't the right song". But it worked and it was fine. Their online system they have to enter songs you want played is great and he did play off of that and took requests from the crowd which was fine w/ me. He was great.

Generations did such a GREAT job!! Kept the dance floor packed with music that was exactly our taste!!! Lots of compliments!!

We met Peter in person and communicated over the phone few times prior to our wedding. He answered all of our questions immediately and we felt very comfortable to have him as our DJ for our wedding.

After the wedding, we got a lot of compliments on his service! A lot of our guests asked us how we found him! We really appreciate Peter for making our wedding day so special! We loved all the musics he played so much that we had to ask him to burn a CD for us!

DJ does make a BIG difference for the wedding!! Peter is the BEST!!

We were very pleased with Justin and our Generations Entertainment experience. First of all he's very nice, has a great sense of humor, and met with us 3 times to work out the details which we really appreciated. He had great ideas that were really helpful. We found the website for choosing our music very easy to use. He provided all the music for our wedding, from the ceremony all the way through the entire reception. He was happy to work with our slightly different ceremony and music choices. He did a great job of keeping our drastically varied aged guests all out on the dance floor, without playing anything like YMCA, Funky Chicken, ect. He also did a great job incorporating different types of music for our guests from different areas of the world without alienating anyone. He ran the show without taking over the spotlight, a major problem we've seen with other DJ's. His sound system maybe doesn't look like the most impressive but it sounds absolutley amazing. It was never too loud which we were very worried about in our venue with a low ceiling. He also provided lighting which is well worth it. That little splash of color on the walls makes a huge difference in the room. He also created and showed a slideshow of pictures of us, set to music, that was very well received by our guests and now a treasure for our families. We received many compliments from our guests and people kept dancing until the very end of the night. They were much more reasonably priced than other DJ's we looked at, especially when you consider the level of service they provide. Excellent service at a reasonable price.

What a great company to work with!! Outstanding!!!

You definitely get what you pay for as far as DJs, and for a mediocre price we got a mediocre dj. Peter, the main agent, was great. He was very responsive when he could be (he was out of town a lot and couldn't respond to emails on a regular basis). I spoke with Damon Stone, the dj that we booked, once over the phone and he was very nice, answered all of my questions, and came off very professionally. For the in person meeting, I met with Peter instead of our DJ or DJ's assistant to discuss timeline, overall vibe of the event, and specific do's and don'ts. Peter had great ideas and was very responsive to my requests. On the day of the wedding, Damon had not recieved info regarding song requests and timelines and so he came up to my husband and I during our meal. Not exactly what we wanted but it was fine. During the event he did all the dances that we wanted and read the crowd well to keep them dancing. Once, the music stopped playing while he was out of the room and there was some dead space and I had a number of guests complain that he didn't play any songs that were requested online (including my mom's dedication). Overall I would say that they are fine for the price but if you can upgrade.

Pete Carroll did more than an outstanding job as the music provider for our entire wedding from ceremony to reception! We had SUCH a blast meeting with him and working with him pre-wedding and had the utmost confidence going into our big day. He went above and beyond to help us find songs, work in our special touches and keep the pace of the entire day. He is fun, professional and does not act like the "hokey radio DJ voice" as I was worried about when finding a DJ for the wedding. Our parents were pushing us towards a band, but we were adamant at having OUR music... consisting of a lot of underground bands, string quartet pre-wedding etc. All we did was put it on a disc and tell Pete when to play, and take his suggestions of when and where to place songs.

We trusted him completely and it really paid off, as the day went LOVELY and EVERYONE had such a good time and commented on "how great of a DJ we had chosen".

Pete was amazing! We gave him a rough idea of what we wanted and he worked it out perfectly. Just about everyone was dancing, and nobody was bored-that's for sure! He played music for everyone of all ages and no YMCA or FUNKY CHICKEN-which was perfect!!

UPDATED 11/12/07: Ok, I just went to a wedding where Pete Carroll was the DJ and he was INCREDIBLE!!!! I highly recommend him...I work in the wedding industry, and am going to refer Pete like crazy now....I am going to change my recommendation, as Dustin (my DJ, no longer works for Generations...thank goodness!! :) So now, I highly recommend them :)

10.10.06 - This is a hard review to do, just because I LOVED Dustin for the first 3 months of planning, then the last 3 weeks before my wedding I had the HARDEST time getting a hold of him. It got to the point where I was calling him a couple times a day, just saying ‘I have your final payment and I just want to bring it by’ thinking that would work…NO. I had my slideshow DVD that I needed him to test and make sure he could run it, etc. No call. Finally, 2 DAYS before my wedding, I for a hold of him and drive to his house to bring him my things. Grrr…The main reason we hired Dustin was because of his VERY unique first dance song. He records the bride and groom talking about being in love, how they met, etc. We did this, and were SO excited about it. Our wedding day comes, we step out on the dance floor to do the first dance song…hmm no voices…we talk through the entire dance wondering when our voices are going to come on..hmm…they NEVER came on. I was LIVID. He NEVER said ANYTHING to us. No apology, no explanation…nothing. He hardly talked during our reception, the last couple of songs kept skipping…the reception was still fun, but it was pretty bad when my BM had to grab the microphone SEVERAL times and get the party movin…

Dustin was very easygoing and easy to work with. He accommodated my wedding guests with their annoying requests and he did a great job of getting the crowd involved in the beginning. My only complaint would be that he didn't set up any lighting equipment that I remembered, and I'm pretty sure there was supposed to be some basic lighting in th package. (He may have had some technical difficulties with the venue, however.)

Also, his set up is high-tech, but looks a little weak, since it was only a laptop and a few speakers. I think his setup could use a bit more pomp and flair... Just not the same these days without the turntables.

Amazing DJ!!!!!!!!!!!! We even had guests go up to him and ask for his card during our reception. He had the crowd dancing and laughing, and enjoying themselves, from beginning to end! Literally!! Phil was absolutely wonderful.

Pete Carroll is our DJ. Very nice guy. Spent a lot of time with us. Not high pressure and honestly the only DJ who we met with that we liked.

Justin is a fantastic DJ, a natural emcee, and a genuinely hilarious presence at any event. He knows how to work the crowd and keep everything moving, and his knowledge of music is tops. Always like working with him!
