Gosh! What to say about Kim and the folks at Geranium Lakes! I recently was married and I might not have done so, had it not been for Kim Foren & Geranium Lakes. They were the very first vendor that I hired, and helped to set the whole tone for my event. Kim was totally open to my hair-brained ideas about decor and helped create a stunning altar backdrop piece made of paper flowers that was absolutely perfect for our wedding. Kim was able to take my scattered vision of "earthy" mixed with "sophisticated" and also "relaxed" and actually made a beautiful floral and decor design that totally captured my vision exactly. Due to a lack of "same page-edness" with my wedding planner, I made the decision to fire her less than a week before my wedding, and Kim totally stepped up to help me. She coordinated the day-of proceedings and pulled all of my haphazard vendors into one smooth-running wedding machine! (Also, Kim seems to know everybody in Portland, and has great working relationships with probably any vendor you already have. Believe me, this is a serious asset. Other vendors genuinely like working with Kim and that creates an atmosphere of goodwill and ease, which, now that I am on the other side of my wedding, I can tell you that having a little peace amongst your people helps you have peace amongst yourself, if that makes any sense. Anyway,) She pulled my wedding out of the fire and helped me turn it into the most beautiful and personal event I have ever seen. She saved me thousands of dollars by coming up with an alternative to expensive tent rentals. She added a shade of sophistication and yet also a dash of earthy-ness by suggesting wooden chairs and beautiful birch chargers. My Bouquet and boutonnieres were magazine quality and as quirky and individual as the people who wore them. I gave her a couple of boxes of books and a few weird odds and ends, and in minutes she turned it into a fabulous guest table that looked like I spent months (instead of an hour or so) planning it. The centerpieces for the reception tables were eclectic and simply put, perfect. I gave a few examples and descriptions of things I like (I like my flowers to have weird pods and things that look like they grew underwater on another planet) and Kim & Geranium Lakes found my perfect design approach without me having to hover and correct and stress out and be awful, and that in itself was a gift. Without any doubt at all, Geranium Lakes is the best florist in Portland. Their new shop & event space is magical. Their staff is so creative and helpful and fun to work with (I <3 you, Patrick!). Their prices are reasonable, their professionalism amazing, and their raw creative power unmatched. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Geranium Lakes for your wedding, or for any event on any scale. In fact, if you don't stop reading this review and call Kim right now to schedule a consult, you are doing yourself and your future wedding guests a disservice. Seriously. Call her RIGHT NOW.

Kim was amazing to work with from start to finish! She has beautiful and creative vision, and she can make the best use out of any budget. When I saw my flowers on my wedding day they literally took my breath away. Her decor or floral arrangements were beyond what I could have ever imagined and absolutely made my wedding a DREAM! It's been a couple of months since my wedding and family and friends still talk about how amazing the flowers were. I still dream about the beautiful bridal bouquet she made me! And Kim some how pulled off peonies in late September - amazing!! Thank you Kim!

I have nothing but great things to say about Kim and her team at Geranium Lakes! I think when it came to florists, I met with more florists than any other type of wedding vendor because I just couldn't find one that really nailed down what I wanted exactly. I also hesitate to just label Geranium Lakes a 'florist' because they go above and beyond just the flowers! Upon my first meeting with Kim, I felt like she instantly knew what I wanted with everything in the flowers, the decor, details and just the overall look and feel that I wanted. I kept telling her she was 'in my head' because I felt like I didn't give much direction, but it was like she already knew what I wanted!

Needless to say, our arrangements and decorations were stunning and we received many compliments throughout the evening. The birch tree centerpieces were a hit! I especially loved my bouquet-which included peonies (my favorite flower), which I've heard are out of season in September too, so it was such a treat to have them included! I just wish I didn't lose it! Too much fun at the wedding, I guess!

I also appreciated the quick responses to emails, questions, and phone calls. Kim was always very prompt in getting back to me with any inquiries I had. I hope I get the chance to work with Geranium Lakes again someday and I will recommend them to everyone!

I honestly cannot say enough good things about Kim and Geranium Lake. I went in with really no idea what I wanted other than "bright and colorful." Knowing all of the locations in Portland, Kim can always pull just the right arrangements together. Since my father had passed away years ago, I asked Kim to wrap my wedding bouquet in one of his ties. She said she'd never done that before - you wouldn't know it, as she did a wonderful job to make sure he was with me that day and even included small pieces on my bridesmaids' bouquets. Considering they were my sisters and niece it made their arrangements extremely special to them as well. And they've dried beautifully.

Best of all, Kim does amazing things on a small budget. She's about the only florist I know who may recommend cutting down your order. I really appreciated that!

Finally, Kim herself delivered the flowers to my hotel room. She really goes above and beyond. And let's not forget, this is a woman who has been on the Today Show!!

I'd love to have another big event if for no other reason than to have another round of Geranium Lake flowers!!

I had the most AMAZING flowers EVER! I also had a huge wedding day accident and they saved the day...I forgot to pick up my flowers and they delivered them to our hotel. Saved the day!

Kim Foren, of Geranium Lake Flowers, recently provided the design and floral magic for my daughter's Rehearsal celebration and Wedding in Portland. As this was a destination wedding for us, it was crucial to have confidence in her style and product. She graciously earned that and then some.
We met twice prior to the date, and Kim gave us all the time we needed to consult, viewed every photo we brought with us, and we left with a sense of excitement and...relief. She listened. We were able to email and receive quick responses back, make changes and additions when needed, and the final product was simply stunning. She executed every wish my daughter envisioned (even the most challenging) and pulled it all together.

Kim and her staff at Geranium Lake Flowers worked on my wedding this summer. They got everything just right! The table arrangements were classic and beautiful for my outdoor summer wedding. And my bouquet was so lovely -- it was the perfect wedding accessory. I was very, very happy with the service and would recommend them to anyone.

We used Geranium Lake for our wedding at St. Patrick Catholic Church and our reception at the Benson. Kim was wonderful to work with, listening to our ideas and applying her knowledge. I loved my bouquet and everyone raved about the flower arrangements at the reception. My family and I received many compliments on the flowers. We also used Geranium Lake's lights for up lighting at our reception, which was a great touch that provided a warm look to the room. I look forward to working with Geranium Lake in the future.

Kim's flowers were beautiful, fresh and unusual. She translated everything my daughter & her husband (!) wanted, and was so enthusiastic about our event.

None of us knows anything about flowers, but Kim was able to help us realize the perfect wedding by her thoughtful questions as to style and color preferences, and by showing us photographs of different flowers and arrangements to which we could respond.

Beautiful flowers. The colors were exactly what I wanted. Kim could not get the peonies I wanted and called to make sure she could use gardenias instead. Of course, you can! The bouquet was beautiful and smelled wonderful. I also requested 3 clusters of flowers to put on the cake and they were beautiful and made the cake even more pretty. I had also neglected to order a Corsage for 1 person and called the morning the flowers were to be picked up to order it and the gal on the phone was very kind and it was ready when flowers were picked up.

Geranium Lake Flowers is a premier florist in the Portland metro area. The team, led by Kim Foren, is inspiring, charming and very creative. We didn't have to look anywhere but here because they value and price is unbeatable and they do the best work in town.

The flowers were beautiful and just how we pictured it, and it was really easy working with them to get the right flowers that we had in mind. I think it made our wedding a lot better, and their products really sell themselves.

Go to Geranium Lake if you are interested in commissioning an artist to create a masterpiece! That is exactly how I felt about my experience working with Kim. I still can't believe how beautiful she made our wedding. I provided her with a general idea of our (my!) wedding style and just let her roll with it. It's been about 6 months since the big day and when I look at our pictures I am in awe of how absolutely beautiful she made everything.

I highly recommend Geranium Lake.

The flowers were gorgeous. The service was pretty good; we didn't get three different types of centerpieces as agreed on; just two. And the owner was our contact person; she was very gruff and a bit unfriendly at times. At one point, she walked out the door and let it swing right in my mother's face! But the product itself was wonderful.

I found Kim's artistic temperment a bit hard to take at times BUT the flowers were beautiful and much admired at the reception. Communication is not Kim's strong suit.

Kim was a delight to work with, she was both very responsive and warm. I had a vision and she definitley did everything to make that vision come to fruition. From the most amazing flower arrangements, individual flowers at each guest's placesetting to chair covers and lighting, Kim really did it all and made my day so magical! I would recommend her to any of my friends!

Kim Floren and team did an amazing job at my wedding. I had previously booked with another vendor for flowers which didn't work out. Kim took us on and immediatly created a vision for our rehearsal dinner and our wedding day which was perfect. The flowers were romantic, and grand. I recieved, and still am recieving compliments from guests saying that the flowers were the most beautiful they have ever seen. As a bride nothing could make you happier! The best part about working with Kim is that she is a true artist, you can trust that her fabulous and creative vision will translate into something that is perfect for your day. My favorite thing about the wedding, besides the groom :), was the flowers...and I have Kim to thank for that. Kim is the best and I will sing her praises to everyone who is planning a wedding!

I knew the minute I met Kim this was the florist for me. I admired Kim's strong spirit and her expertise. In the midst of so many wedding decisions to make, it was wonderful to have a professional artist to guide me through this journey. Her taste is exceptional and you dont want anything less for your special day. Her creativity amazed us and did not go over our budget. On our wedding day, I looked out and my jaw dropped in awe. We were so pleased. We was so impressed by how it took really minimal direction and input to get exactly what we wanted. I'm not a flower-guru, but Kim really helped me tease out what I was looking for. The whole process was so much easier than I anticipated and the flowers were just stunning. We had several guests who commented that they thought they might have been the most beautiful flowers they'd ever seen at a wedding---we certainly thought so!

I adore Kim and her staff at Geranium Lake Flowers. After seeing their work at a friends wedding, I had to have them do our wedding. I found Kim incredibly approachable, responsive and artistically brilliant. I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted but at our first meeting, she helped organize my thoughts and offered excellent suggestions. I was working within a strict budget and Kim was able to stay under my budget without sacrificing quality. On the day of my wedding I was overwhelmed with joy when I saw the decor for the ceremony and reception rooms and the gorgeous arrangement of flowers. Every guest commented on how perfect the decor was and I owe it all to Geranium Lake! I don't think I've ever seen my mother so amazed. Their services extend further than just flowers. Kim arranged for the lighting package and table assignemts which were both to die for. I will be forever grateful for Kim and her team for making my day so memorable and for being supportive and reassuring every step of the planning process.

Kim was very down to earth and helped us narrow down exactly what we wanted. She not only helped in the overall design throughout the months, but she was a support when I was stressed and shared her lunch with me when I was hungry =). Many people said that our wedding was the nicest they have ever attended, and Kim contributed to this result.

Kim is perfection. She's self-made and she knows her stuff. You definately get what you pay for, though, its sometimes not what you asked for. But, its always something you can love.

I would rate this vendor a 3.5.

I would recommend this vendor for those who prefer to give creative control to the florist and are not picky about specifics. I had seen them at a bridal show and selected them for their unique and creative bouquets. Overall, I was content with the main flower bouquets. However, I asked for a specific arrangement on the flower girl’s kissing ball and it was nothing like what I asked for. I wanted all orange flowers, just like my bridesmaid bouquets. They did a green moss ball with a few orange orchids and to be quite honest I thought it was down right ugly. Additionally, my bouquet was not like the picture I gave them. I do not think the person we met with (the owner) was the one who did the arrangements, which I see as being a big flaw. As a result, I would be cautious using this vendor.

When I first met with Kim she seemed very excited and interested in my wedding. She even got a little teary-eyed when I talked about how my husband and I had met. However, as the wedding date got closer and closer she took longer to return phone calls and emails. She told us she would be there on the wedding day to personally deliver the flowers and help set up. The price was definitely out of our price range but because she was so personable and offered her personal services on the wedding day we decided to sign with her. On the day of our wedding she did not show up but rather sent her assistants. The flowers were completely wrong and everything which we had talked about me hating ended up being what they brought. Because our wedding was on a friday they told me there was too much traffic to go back and trade out the flowers. The whole fiasco took so much time that we were late starting our pictures and didn't get nearly as many done as we had wanted. I also had to spend time taking apart many of the bouquets and redo them because they were not going to work with the colors in our wedding. We had talked about wrapping mine in white satin and instead it was wrapped in white tool with fabric clovers sewn in...nothing we had EVER talked about! My wedding coordinator who works at the place said this exact thing happened with the bride the weekend before with Geranium Lake. After the wedding in order to say sorry Kim sent me a centerpiece which was EXACTLY what was suppose to be at the wedding and a $500 refund. This was a slap in the face since the flowers were $5,000 and it showed me she knew what the flowers were suppose to be like. ARG...please don't ruin your wedding by using them. I had to suffer for it and I wouldn't want anyone else to! I wish I had gone with my second choice which was flowers exclusively by Wendy. Her flowers were incredible and I know she would have done an amazing job.

Kim and her crew at Geranium lakes are with out a doubt the most wonderful florists to work with in Downtown Portland. Kim is truly an artist and has so many other talents when designing your wedding space. For our hotel, she is so nice to work with due in part to her location in the heart of the city. We would (and do) recommend Geranium lakes to any one looking for outstanding floral and accesories for your wedding.

I have worked with Kim and her staff more times than I can count in the last several years. Kim is incredibly creative and always dreaming up new fun and unique ideas. The designs that Geranium Lake create are nothing less than stunning---always full, fresh, and gorgeous. After all these weddings, I have never had a bride that hasn't loved her flowers from Geranium Lake and I always love working with them.

Kim Foren has to be one of the best designers in Portland. Her Chuppahs are breathtaking. You can always tell her work from other florists. Not only is she talented but she has a great sense of humor and has a phenomenal fried chicken recipe!!
