We used Gilchrist catering for our wedding and were very pleased not only with the food but also with the service. The food was delicious and there was plenty of staff on hand at our event to make sure that all of our guests were attended to. They paid special attention to my needs which was much appreciated. They were responsive during the planning process but tended to be easier to communicate via phone rather than email. There were a few items that I felt weren't necessary to charge us for, (glass usage and 2 bartenders for the whole night even though we had agreed on 1) but overall it was a good value so I didn't make a big deal about it.
We had specifically requested white and milk chocolate-covered strawberries & oranges, and we even double-checked to confirm this the week of the wedding. However, they only delivered milk chocolate.
At the brunch, they did not include tea and coffee service, as they were supposed. This is a big deal for brunch!
When I sent an email after the event to inform the of these lapses, I never heard back. I would NOT recommend them based on these factors. The food is great, really, but the lack of response and follow-through on contract was really unprofessional.
