I had met a representative at a bridal show and she was great to work with and very passionate about wedding flowers. Unfortunately, she had some personal issues and retired just weeks before my wedding. The best part was that I am not a fan of flowers and how much they cost - so she was able to guide me to a fun floral selection that was reasonably priced (no calalillies or lillies of the valley).
Her co-worker picked up my order and was very understanding of the situation and was able to quickly pick up from previous notes. I really enjoyed my flowers that were more modern than traditional and I thought the value was great.
They were also helpful with the reception setup/decoration and everything went smoothly. I really enjoyed my experience working with Glenrose - they were the perfect touch for the wedding day.
At first I was a little taken back by the informality of the process - no contracts, etc. and everything was done hand-written. But, everything came on time and was even more beautiful than I could have imagined!!! Peggy understood our vision perfectly and designed our flowers even better than we'd expected. Everything was delivered on time and came out beautifully!
I hired Glenrose because we had used them in the past for several different things and always been pleased with the service. The bid I got from them came in a full 600 dollars under the other florists we had talked with- a significant amount considering we had such a small wedding. I talked with the floral designer several times before the wedding. She was always pleasant and professional to work with. I had a very distinct idea in mind of what I wanted and she was very open to letting me dictate the design. A week before the wedding we realized we needed to make a pretty significant change in the amount of centerpieces we needed and they were very gracious about doing this. The day of the wedding is when we began to experience problems, however. I received a frantic call in the midst of getting ready saying the delivery truck was in our city but didnt know where to go from there. No one had exact directions as we were in an unfamiliar downtown area. The delivery person knew none of the major landmarks and was unable to even describe his current location with accuracy making it even more difficult to figure out where he should go. Several mad calls later, thank goodness, my groom was able to get the flowers where they needed to go. I received another call a short time later stating that the florist didnt know where the arrangements should go (even though we had described this to the designer before the day) and the event center manager was no where to be found. I told the delivery guy that I could describe to him where they went but apparently he was so upset about this at this point that he refused to listen. His rudeness, obviously, caused additional stress. When the flowers arrived they were NOT what we had ordered. The ribbon was different than we had discussed and the centerpieces were 1/2 greenery when we had asked for no greenery. Overall our experience was mixed. The moral: quality flowers delivered at a great price but be prepared to sacrifice design and service.
I started out very disappointed in Glenrose floral when I didn't get a quote from them, I called back and spoke with the owner about my issues and he made it more then worth my time, we received free candelabra's from them for my time and for going with them along with some other incentives, The day of the wedding my flowers arrived and my bouqet was not correct I called them right away and the florist came to our church and fixed it right away, our flowers were still fresh looking the day after the wedding. I was very pleased with how they turned out and all of the people we spoke with at glenrose were very helpful and made my wedding day very easy.
