Glynne Davies Makeup and Hair On-Location

Glynne was so much fun to work with on my wedding day. I hadn’t looked into getting a hair/makeup person until the last couple weeks before because I thought I’d try doing it myself to save money. My normal look is very plain; I use next to no make-up & frequently wear none at all. Eventually I realized for my evening, winter, indoor wedding I needed something different. Fortunately because of it being ‘off’ season she and several others were available, but ultimately she was the person I felt most comfortable with. I even asked for an off season discount & she was very reasonable. First, Glynne is very organized, excellent at being able to get ahold of, & punctual. Even though she was in the middle of two big household moves, she replied quickly to my emails & phone calls! Second, her make-up kit is VERY extensive. Variety is something that would be seriously lacking if you’re thinking of doing your make-up yourself or having a friend do it. Third, her artistic eye captured just the perfect sophisticated look I never would have dared try myself. Plus she balanced uneven facial features. It’s awkward to say, but everyone kept going on about how beautiful I was, my fiancee was in tears & even I was stunned that simple, natural me could look so special (but not overly made up). The make-up & hair lasted all night too. My natural hair is bone straight & very hard to curl, but the curls never got droopy. If I'd done them myself, it would have been a mess in no time flat.

Before contacting her, I had talked to one salon lady in the area but got a really uncomfortable feeling as it seemed like she wasn’t at all interested in wedding make-up/hair, didn’t ask any important questions such as formality, time of day, or veil style & strongly emphasized that she didn’t do up-dos. After looking online I also decided I did NOT like airbrushing as it looked too mannequin-ish. Glynne started asking professional questions as soon as we talked on the phone, she was enthusuastic, & I learned a lot from her too during the experience. Thankyou Glynne!
