We used Golden Gate for our flowers and uplighting. Jay was so easy to work with throughout the entire process. Our flowers came out beautifully, especially my bouquet, which I absolutely adored. We had a minor miscommunication, which was probably my fault since I know nothing about flowers. About two days before my wedding I went into the shop to pick up a gravesite arrangement, and I noticed that my BMs' flowers were in the refrigerator. I thought we had discussed making them green and white rather than all green. They were also a little less full than I thought they'd be. I left thinking that maybe they weren't finished? But just in case, I called Jay. He didn't know the answer off hand but had Melissa immediately call me back. She told me that they were done, but they could redo them if necessary. I said that I'd like them redone to include some white if possible. Melissa didn't sound too happy with me, BUT the point of this story is that they fixed them and they were GORGEOUS on the day of the wedding. Bottom line: I highly recommend Golden Gate! Just be sure that you communicate and know what you want vs. what they intend to provide.

Jay and the entire Golden Gate staff were amazing! My flowers were exactly like I had pictured. Jay was so great and easy to work with and made sure we were completely happy and comfortable with our decisions. Golden Gate Studios had previously done two of my friends weddings and they did not let us down. I would highly recommend GGS to everyone!!

We checked out several florists before deciding on Golden Gate-- and we're glad we did. Jay and his team are very professional, courteous and responsive. I had a good idea of the type of flowers I wanted and decorations for the aisle-- and Jay made my ideas become reality. My husband is originally from the South, so Jay was able to reflect his roots in my bouquet-- by using raw cotton. Fantastic! I was very happy with Jay! I would highly recommend Golden Gate to any bride.

Worst experience ever! They were the nicest people and even when i went to get a sample done for my wedding they did exactly what i wanted. It was beautiful! I was so happy I wouldnt have to worry about my flowers, I thought they had everything taken care of.. The morning of my wedding, My flowers came and my boquet was sprayed and falling apart. before i even got to the church i mustve lost about 5 flowers (it was made out of carnations) I didnt panic yet.. then we get to the reception and I wanted to cry.. My centerpieces looked nothing like the sample.. they were all sprayed and had a bunch of leaves all over the places. I wanted a ball of hotpink carnations, how hard is that!!! inside we were suppose to have cala lillys but instead they threw in whatever flowers they had. They also glued the flowers to the vase. it looked awful.. There was suppose to be a big flower arrangement when you walk in to cocktail hour, it looked like they picked flowers from a farm and threw them in a vase. My seating cards were suppose to all be arranged on a bed of hot pink carnations for 150 people. Instead the bed fit maybe 20 cards and wasnt the right color. I was so upset, I trusted them with my wedding. They ruined everything!! When melissa came to pick up the vases she was rude, when I asked her why everything was different, she said "oh im sorry I dont know" this is your job to do what your clients are paying for! I called jay because i wanted some money back. He didnt want to come out to see us when I went to the office. He talked about how everything went wrong and the color of the carnations was ordered hot pink and came in coral. Honestly I dont care what happened. I wouldve been happy if they let me klnow the situation a few days before the wedding and I wouldnt be suprised! Think twice before you want to spend thousands of dollars at this florist!!!

I am very disappointed with this vendor. The original person I was dealing with left the company, even though I was reassured that everything would go as planned, this vendor failed to contact me to tell me they did not have the linen I requested, instead they changed it without calling me, and made a comment that brides are "entitled." I was not aware of this until two weeks prior to my wedding. The colors they provided were dramatically different than my theme. I had to go with another vendor two weeks prior to try and fix the issues. I provided the vases and they were supposed to provide mini bouquets in all the vases, instead they threw two roses in each vase. This is not what we agreed to. My theme was candlelight, they agree to light the 200+ votives for the reception, 100 of the votives were returned to me, unlit, as they ran out of time during set up. They were supposed to light the candles on the memorial table in the chapel, and during the wedding ceremony I realized that they did not. And lastly, they told me that they would be at wedding site to set up at 12pm. They did not get there until 4:30pm. This meant my wedding planner could not review anything in regards to set up as my wedding was at 5:30pm.

Jay was great. I told him my budget & he took notes upon our first meeting for the flowers I needed. A few weeks later I received a formal list of the flowers & cost broken down into categories. I told him the flowers that I liked & he did a great job putting it together.He made a complimentary sample centerpiece for me to take & he did a great job with that. My order also included a tossing boquet, which is great because no one really wants to part with their flowers. he was really good about answering calls & returning messages.

Golden Gate Studios and Jay are wonderful. I left colors and flowers up to him (for I have no clue about flowers).

He had a sample centerpiece ready for us 2 months prior to our wedding and thats when I knew I had made the right decision chosing Jay.

On our wedding day, he was very punctual to the house and the church. When I arrived at the church everything looked beautiful but when I got to Alpine country Club I fell in love...they did such an unbelievable job and I received so many compliments.

How can I ever thank you!!??

If you are planning a wedding you must go see Jay at Golden Gate there is no one else I could ever refer other than them!!

Jay was great to work with! I sent him a picture of the roses I wanted for the bouquets, and he sent that picture on to his grower. We weren't sure if those roses would be "right," so we scheduled a meeting 2 days before the wedding for me to come see them. We had a plan B in case they were the wrong color. When I came in to see the flowers, they were perfect! When I saw the bouquets on our wedding day, I was thrilled with them. Also, our centerpieces were at least 3 times the size of the trial centerpiece I'd seen earlier in the year. I was blown away by the flowers, and lots of guests commented on them too. They also took care of our uplighting at a very competitive price, and did a great job with that as well. Beyond the outcome, what I most appreciated about Jay was that he was a pleasure to work with. With all that goes into wedding planning, that alone was priceless. I highly recommend them!

My bouquets came out beautiful and were exactly what I wanted. Jay and his team are really artistically talented. Jay was open to anything I wanted and he was competitively priced. He is hard to get a hold of, so if you need to get in touch with him, don’t email. It’s best to call him on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Mondays he takes off. He’s not very good at answering voicemail either so keep calling until you reach him. He was very good at getting back to me though when it was close to my wedding day, so don’t stress if you can’t get in touch with him. Other than that I highly recommend him, his floral arrangements are the best!

Jay and his team at Golden Gate did an amazing job with every flower arrangement at our wedding! They were stunning and captured exactly what I envisioned. The flowers were breathtaking and made our reception tent exquisite! My bridesmaids bouquets and the bridal bouquet were gorgeous and made every picture even more beautiful!

I happened to be standing in the lobby of the hotel when my Gail (from Golden Gate Studios) walked in with my flowers. She graciously brought them up to my room (where I had to change) and took the time to explain how everything was labeled and organized. They were so beautiful!!! She was so patient and happy. Most importantly, she made sure I was more than satisfied with my order and delivery. Thank you Gail, Jay, & Melissa! Sheer PERFECTION!!!

Jay was great to work with. The only problem I had is that the flowers weren't quite what I expected. I selected multiple colors for the wedding because it was held in the garden. And we had discussed a very vibrant, colorful bouquet to match. Although my bouquet was pretty, it was not nearly as colorful as I'd hoped. That being said, no one knew the difference but me - everyone else thought they were great.

Jay was great, I went in not knowing what exactly I wanted and he put together an amazing list of arrangements in a matter of minutes. He knew what I wanted before I did. The day of the wedding, Golden Gate was great. When we had forgotten the flower girl baskets, one of the staff drove back to the shop and brought them back with plenty of time to spare before the ceremony. They also stayed the entire time and relocated our ceremony flowers to our reception location. All of the arrangements were elegant and well put together. We also had them decorate our cake, which turned out beautiful. Jay has a great eye for what will work best with any type of wedding.

I cannot say enough good things about Golden Gate Studios!!! YOU MUST HIRE THEM FOR YOUR WEDDING! I was blown away by the flowers for me, my bridal party, the church, the centerpieces, the cake, etc. Jay and Melissa went a million times above and beyond what I expected AND worked with me to fit this all in my budget (which in all honesty, was pretty low)! Golden Gate has such an eye for beauty and perfection and it shows in their flowers! I recommend them to everyone I come across who is planning a wedding. They were one of my top favorite vendors from my wedding!!

This was my only vendor that I was a bit disappointed in. When I first met Jay I thought he was wonderful and looking at the pictures was really excited about all my floral arrangements. Then once seeing them I just thought they were ok, still very nice but just not what I really expected. Also I felt I huge difference from my first meeting with Jay to afterwards. My first meeting with Jay and spent so much time an effort with every detail, then after that I never heard from them. It was impossible to call to make a change, confirm appointments, or even make my final payment. I just felt like I had to chase them for anything which was a bit uncomfortable and not really what I wanted to do while planning everything else. One great thing I would like to point out though, is on the day of the wedding my flowers and all the girls flowers were delivered to the hotel where we were getting ready and once they realized we were going straight to the venue they took everything right over there for us so we did not have to worry about transporting everything. I know it seemed small but in the confusion of that time it was a huge help.

Jay and Melissa were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. I came in with a photo from the internet and told Jay that I wanted my bouquet similar to that and everything else he could be creative and design around it (because I know nothing about flowers) but that I needed to stay on a budget. Jay worked with me to cut corners by using the same large arrangements for the ceremony and the reception, by using my bouquet as my sweetheart table centerpiece, and by creating smaller arrangements for the tables using higher quality flowers. The arrangements were all beautiful and I actually began to cry when I saw my bouquet, it was absolutely stunning & exactly what I had wanted! Jay was not always easy to reach by email (sometimes taking a couple weeks or a 2nd email before responding) but was extremely flexible about changing colors as we went along and changing quantities as a couple of people dropped from the wedding party and giving suggestions for variations on the bridesmaids dress colors after my color was discontinued. Other florists could not believe the quote I had from Golden Gate and were unable to match his price no matter how hard they tried. Overall I was very pleased with their service and would gladly recommend them to anyone with the warning that phone calls will get you faster answers than emails if you're in a rush.

Jay was wonderful to work with and all of the flowers that we had were beautiful. Jay was not at all pushy to add more when I explained that I didnt want flower centerpieces. I was a little disapointed that I had requested butterflies in my flowers and brought samples but none were there on the wedding day. Also we had a chuppah and the groomsmen wound up setting it up because the girls sent with the flowers couldnt do it. That being said the flowers were great and overall we were very happy.

We worked with Jay and Melissa over the past year. I changed and changed and changed my mind on my flowers. Jay was MORE than flexible on redoing my proposal a million times. He is creative and fun and told me exactly what would work and what wouldn’t. The day of they put down roses petals for my ceremony aisle and stayed to rake them up per Glen’s rules. They switched out my kissing balls from the ceremony to the reception without anyone noticing. The centerpieces were out of this world. Ostrich feathers and hanging crystals! Love! Jay is hard to reach via email but responds quickly to phone calls. Highly Recommend.

Jay and Melissa are a dynamic flower duo. We meet with Golden Gate after 3 other unsuccessful florist visits. We found round lanterns from the Christmas Tree Shop that we were determined to make into centerpieces. I brought my lantern to Jay and was meet with much excitement and enthusiasm. The man oozes energy. We told him about our predicament with the lanterns and started to tell him what florist recommended. Before we could finish he was whipping up his idea. We were thrilled with his idea was building flowers around the lanterns and using small clear glass balls in the lantern with a candle. They were prefect and a great height for our guests to be able to see each other at the tables. The day of the wedding someone from Jay’s team delivered the flowers and she was so nice and calming. We were running a little behind and this didn’t seem to bother her. She set up the reception tent and the rose petals for the aisle right before the ceremony as it was windy. The whole experience with Jay and Melissa was great.

I have known Jay for several years now working in the wedding industry and when I got engaged, I knew who I wanted to be my florist instantly - Golden Gate Studios! His professionalism is hard to find these days with wedding vendors but he is amazing. He spent endless time re-confirming little details that were important to me and made my fiance actually care about what flowers we used :)On the day of the wedding, I saw his work come to life and this time, it was for my wedding. Every detail was fresh, vibrant and unique - people are still talking about our centerpieces today!!

Golden Gate Florist was a true pleasure to do business with! I have never been a fan of flowers, I was actually thinking of alteratives for my wedding bouquet like feathers. But when I saw a beautiful bride bouquet sample at a wedding expo, that Golden Gate created, I was in love and knew that’s exactly what I wanted. Golden Gate created of all of my wedding flower designs including: wedding party bouquets & boutonnieres, a ceremony arch, a creative isle design a sweatheart table back drop and up lighting! Jay did a great job on our wedding. Through the process he was a little hard to get a hold of and We didnt want some types of flowers and we had to tell him a bunch of times as he kept trying to incorporate them. But when all is said and done he di a fantastic job, and we were fery happy with our our flowers and decour.

Jay arranged my flowers to be EXACTLY what i wanted!!! Everything looked absolutely beautiful. definitely a 5-star review.

This is a husband and wife team that makes you feel as if you are their only bride. Personal and professional service. Our venue was beautiful, but their creations made it magical! Centerpieces lasted WEEKS after the wedding day! Book early because they get taken quickly.

Jay and Melissa are amazing!!!! They took our vision for our dream wedding and made it a reality! They took a relatively smaller floral budget ($3800) and made it looks as though we had spent double! This amazing husband/wife team was such a positive one to use for our wedding day. Every meeting was so fun and easy. Jay knows exactly what to offer you to make your day exactly as you would want it. I knew what I didn't want, but wasn't sure what exactly I did want. Along with their amazing team, they pull off showstopping floral arrangements at incredibly affordable prices - they create beautiful, complex pieces, and personalize every detail--down to the last moment of the day. We were so fortunate to have had Golden Gate as our wedding floral vendors...not only did Jay see and carry out a gorgeous vision in the development of our 'all-white' scheme--but he added character, and kept the floral message moving fluidly from the mini bouquet for my husband's mother to the showstopping sweetheart table and towering arrangements in the reception... The team incorporated my favorite white peonies, bells of Ireland, white roses, hybrid lillies, and mini callas everywhere....my ethereal bouquet of roses, peonies and chartreuse hypericum berries wrapped in satin incorporated photos of my late parents, my aquamarine rosary from the Vatican, and a prayer book carried by my grandmother, mother, aunt and cousin was beyond beautiful-- Jay respectfully adheres to all "good luck" traditions, including the test drive of the bride's bouquet....and thanks to his flexibility and creativity, we had my mother's favorite red roses in Guinness pints filled with real Guinness for the cocktail hour! Jay and his wife Melissa are just the sweetest, most caring people - they take every job seriously, and treat the client as if they were favorite relatives. Wonderful job, Jay and Melissa! Jay was a treat to work with. He helped me select the perfect flowers for my personal style. The centerpieces were exquisitely simple and beautiful. I loved that he set up the centerpiece at his studio so I can see what it will look like. Because he has worked at the Biltmore so often, he knew just what candle goblets would look great in the Grand Ballroom. He also provided uplighting during both the ceremony and reception. It looked AMAZING! He also provided flowers for the cake. My only complaint is that not all the gentlemen got their boutonni?res, but maybe it was challenging to find all the guys.

I am a florist myself so it was so important for me to have the flowers perfect, as i can be a little bit picky. The flowers were of a fantastic quality and the work was just outstanding. Jay knew exactly what i wanted and it showed. I would highly recommend Golden gate studio

The service was top rate and we were given a finished product that exceeded our expectations. We also got a gazebo treatment for our ceremony and it could not have looked more beautiful. For the price, what you get is exceptional.

AMAZING!!! John (?) is so experienced and has such a good read on what would work and what brides like from their consultations with him. They take great care in their arrangements and my flowers were more beautiful than I ever could have pictured from our discussion! He had great suggestions for the guys' bouts too and was incredibly flexible at the last minute when we made a few changes with the number and types of bouts in our order. Best of all, he is a PLEASURE to work with. So friendly and accommodating. With what a great value this place is, why go anywhere else? Their quotes were way under everyone else's, at no expense of quality.

Of all the florists that I researched, I immediately felt most comfortable with Jay and Melissa at Golden Gate. And they proved me right, 150%!! The flowers were gorgeous AND the price was reasonable.

Jay and Melissa were great. If you need a florist in RI, go with them! For the person who knows exactly what you want, they will write it down and produce just that. For the person who hadn't a clue (like me), you can give them very broad ideas and Jay will immediately be full of great suggestions. Having very little to go by, we simply told Jay the color, price range, and basic sizes of the bouquets we wanted, and what we ended up with was absolutely stunning. We got several compliments on our bouquets from people who knew much more about flowers than we did! One thing that was great about Jay was that while he was open to and would certainly do anything you wanted, he was also not afraid to give his opinions and ideas about what might be better than what you suggested, which was very helpful because he is the florist so obviously knows much more. Finally, it can't be emphasized that they are a great deal. We got quotes from numerous florists and they were the most reasonable by far. Lastly, on the day of your wedding, they will come and set up all of your centerpieces, as well as hand-deliver the bouquets where the bride is and pin up the groomsmen! It cannot be emphasized how nice it was to have one less thing to worry about on the day of your wedding. Highly recommended!

Jay was phenomenal to work with! Due to the fact that I was getting married in January, which a slow time for them, he promised me great service...and, boy did he ever deliver! He showed up at 2pmto deliver the flowers, went to the church to decorate and help the groomsmen with their boutineres, waited with me until I walked down the ailse, decorated the reception venue, and stayed to take down all the flowers so my guests could take them home! The flower arrangements exceeded my expectations, and my bouquet was absolutely gorgeous! He is truly an artist!

Amazing people to work with. They offer creative ideas for those who are completely unsure and do not know much about flowers. They even offered to help us with our home made items. Budget was a concern for us and they offered great ideas and worked with us within our budget. On our wedding day however, I still feel as though they gave us more than we actually paid for. It was just beautiful. Even looking back on the pictures people comment all the time how beautiful the flowers were.

Jay was great to work with and the flowers were so beautiful! My bouquet stayed wonderful and was so big and colorful and everyone commented on how awesome both the low candelabra pieces and tall centerpieces looked. Guests couldn?t wait to find out who got to take them home with them. Jay also did a lot of extras like prepare my aisle runner and secure it for the ceremony, tie all the chair cover sashes at the reception and drop off and arrange beautiful roses for the rehearsal dinner and arrange them in Via Roma?s vases. The girls all loved the ballerina style ties on their bouquets also. Their prices and service are great. The only thing that I wish could have gone better was the flowers on the cake server set-they were sorta wilting by the time we went for the cake tasting (I know it was due to the extreme 90 something degree weather though and there is nothing you can do about mother nature). I would highly recommend GG to any bride and enjoy the bouquets and samples he provides-they are gorgeous!
