Although I thought that they were a bit pricy we enjoyed shopping with them. They treat you as if you are they only one they are dealing with even if they have a full store.

Who doesn't love the music of the oldies? Especially at a wedding reception when you have all age groups attending? It is more personal because you have live musicians and not a DJ playing whatever he or she may want to play. Gold Rush is LIVE and its real. I hope to have many weddings where they will play and make my bride and grooms have lasting memories!

Additional Advice
LIVE MUSIC VS. RECORDED MUSICLive music has visual appeal. It is always exciting to see the musician’s play their instruments; there is a lot of motion and many things to see. You can see the expressions on their faces, how they look at each other and the audience, how they sometime close their eyes and really get into the music, how they move with the music, how the drummer is working at the drums and how the vocalists sing. You see the real effort it takes to communicate musically. Live music carries much emotional content. Musicians become musicians so they have an outlet to creatively express emotion. The emotional content comes from the music, the interaction between musicians and the interaction with the audience. This is a factor which cannot even be approached with recorded music. It is a factor you can feel while dancing in the audience of a live band performance. Live music can be customized. Bands have the ability to read the crowd and change the song on the spot to fit. If the crowd is really into it and dancing, the song can be extended. If needed, songs can be shortened. Songs can be combined, and turned into medleys. The dynamics of individual parts can be changed on the fly. As much as producers try really hard to get a great mix on a recording, often there is an individual part which is too loud or soft. For example, a sax solo that you cannot hear very well on the recording can come out rich and full when played live. Vocal parts can be added or subtracted as needed, and the volume levels of those adjusted. The actual sound of the instruments can be changed if needed. Again things a that cannot be done with recorded music. Bands can also take a group of songs and put them in a medley. Perhaps the medleys consist of songs by the same artist, have a theme, or perhaps even just good dance songs. This is a level of creativity that is just not possible with a recorded music. Bands can create interest by getting crowd involvement in a song, having the rest of the band drop out and just keep the bass and drums going while you do a dance contest between the men and women for example. Bands can remove objectionable lyrics from otherwise great songs on the fly. There will be no telltale BEEPS or DROP OUTS when a vulgarity is deleted from a song. Grandma will not have to wince at the wedding reception by hearing those off color word or phrases”. Bands can personalize songs. Bands can insert a personal lyric or someone’s name in place of other song lyrics. Done creatively this can be very powerful and really add a personal touch to a song. All in all, in every way, live music is the best, most elegant choice for a wedding reception.CLIENT FEEDBACK: What a party! Goldrush was wonderful! I hired them for my husband’s 50th surprise birthday party and they were the hit of the party. They arrived on time, were energetic and really had the whole room up and dancing. Their price was right-especially considering they had a 6 piece band that played for 5 hours! They even let my husband get on stage and live out his rock and roll dream of being in a band! I would highly recommend them and will be happy to offer a reference if requested. Thanks so much! Debra Barer --Debra B.Seattle, WA 7/14/2007The band and their guests were great. A variety of music was played and they present themselves very professionally. They were receptive to specific requests and anything we requested in the area of setup also. Our event was small as events go and not a lot of people were dancing at times, but that didn’t daunt them at all. They played recorded soft music during dinner and soon as they saw we were completed with dinner and some announcements we had, they were ready to go. They dress to fit the occasion and their appearance was perfect for our event. There were a handful of people that hung out til the very end and the band kept playing til we were all ready to drop! Very professional, friendly and accomodating. --Jeanne M.Seattle, WA 4/28/2007 These guys were absolutely great! Very professional and a ton of fun at the same time. They were extremely helpful from the first day we hired them right up to the wedding day. We couldn’t have been more pleased. They just made you feel so comfortable and went out of their way to make your event wonderful. Our dance floor was filled at all times, the music was tunes for every age group and every person after the wedding told us what a great, fun band this was to have for our daughters wedding. We’d recommend Goldrush to everyone!! Thanks guys for being so much fun and sharing the day with us!! --Barb B.Monroe, WA 8/12/2006 Goldrush played for our 25th anniversery / wedding. They were wonderful. If they did not know one of our required songs they learned it and played it at the reception beautifully. The music was great with much variety. They were professional and the banter was good between songs. Every one enjoyed the band and had a great time. If we have a future event where music is needed we will hire them again gladly. --Cheryl G.Gig Harbor, WA 6/24/2006
