The Grand Plaza is amazing !! Compared to other locations in the area, their price is great and the venue is absolutely beautiful. Pictures of the Presidential room sold me on the location and it definitely lived up to expectations. Our coordinator Katie was wonderful to work with and very helpful, she made sure everything ran smoothly for us. The food was great and they even boxed up some of it for us, and our cake and other desserts too. All of our guests and family commented on how beautiful it all was. Definitely recommended !

This place was amazing .. our coordinator Katie was GREAT!! Answered all my emails promptly and were so effcient the day of the wedding. I worried the food would be your standard hotel food, but that was not the case! Everyone raved how good the food was, and the service was top notch, they even packaged a to go box so we could actually enjoy the food later! Not to mention this place is the best value on the beach with no lack of service or quality!! I really cannot say how great this venue was .. Thank you Grand Plaza for an amazing wedding!! and a BIG THANK YOU to Katie, you all were so accomodating and it was GREAT!!

I cannot tell you how happy I am that I chose to have my wedding at the Grand Plaza Resort!! If you are searching for a beautiful place to have a beach wedding, stop looking and book the Grand Plaza! I planned a destination wedding and Gloria made all the planning very easy. I communicated with her mostly via email and always got quick responses back (even on her days off sometimes!). The day of the wedding, Gloria and the other staff members took care of everything so I had nothing to worry about (except for the rain!). It ended up raining right before our ceremony was supposed to start and the staff was so accommodating that they let us wait about a half hour until the rain stopped so I could have my ceremony on the beach.

The Grand Plaza ROCKS! Cherish is awesome! I love the service there, it's amazing. Everything was taken care of me. The menu is flexible and Cherish really helped me get exactly what I needed in my budget.

The Grand Plaza Hotel is an amazing place to have your wedding. Cherish, our wedding Catering Sales Director is the best. She is on top of things, she always is quick to respond to emails and makes you feel like you are the only bride that she is working with. Cherish goes out of her way to make the couple feel have their dream wedding. The staff at the Grand Plaza is wonderful, they make you feel welcome, while you stay at the hotel and when you need help with anything they give it to you. The food is amazing, it is so nice that when you book your wedding at the hotel you recieve a tasting, so that you know what the food taste like beforehand.

We got married 2 days ago and I am so blown away by the quality of service at the Grand Plaza that I don't know where to begin.

We knew this was the right venue from the first time we walked in to the 10th floor reception room overlooking the ocean. The view is spectacular. The whole room is filled with ocean. The only comparable resort around is the Don Cesar. If you want to spend 4 times (or more) as much and have an obstructed view, feel fee to check out the Don Cesar. Otherwise the Grand Plaza is hands down the best bang for the buck.

I would like do express my deepest gratitude for Cherish, the wedding coordinator. We don't live near the Grand Plaza so most of the planning was done over the phone. Cherish's friendly voice was always there to guide us and reassure us. I cannot express how much help she has been through the whole process. She is an expert with dealing with the last minute chaos with a calm and controlling smile. She held everything together!

Our DJ was recommended by the venue. He was perfect. He somehow mixed reggae with latin with electronic with steel drums. Wow. Everybody had a great time. We had steel drums for ceremony and cocktail hour. It was a hit. Joe Lorenzo with Expert DJ productions pulled through and made my life so much easier!

Our cake was included with the reception package, recommended by the venue. Our flowers cam from sam's club, recommended by cherish. My mom did the flowers herself and saved us a fortune. What a great idea. The food was wonderful! The prime rib was mouth watering.

After the wedding, the party moved down to Bongo's bar on the beach. We rocked that bar until 3 in the morning. Thanks for putting up with our antics! The reception bartender and the beach bartender were both wonderful, always serving with a smile.

Cherish was the best wedding coordinator ever. She made sure everything went smoothly on our wedding day, as well as the months leading up to the wedding. She had every vendor you could ask for from cakes and flowers to babysitting services & dry cleaners to press your wedding dress. She gave us a complimentary food tasting & even measured everything from the gift table to the dance floor. No detail was overlooked. The menu & food were amazing. The guests raved about the food. Filet mignon was cooked to perfection & the portions were generous. My vendor for the arch was later than expected, but Cherish made sure everything was ready. We were afraid of rain, but the Grand Plaza was ready to move our beach wedding time up an hour earlier I'd needed. Their indoor chapel was a beautiful backup option for bad weather, but we never needed it. Very professional wedding experts all around. Full services for destination weddings like mine. I never met my hair stylist, makeup artist, priest, or photographer until my wedding day & I was still the most beautiful, satisfied bride I could be. There were no worries, complaints or stress. Best location, best service, most wonderful day of our lives, best wedding anyone ever attending, even Cherish cried during our first dance. Thank you Cherish & the Grand Plaza for helping us assemble a team of professionals to make our day fun, memorable, beautiful & gourmet!

Claudia the wedding coordinator…. Was Amazing….. She went beyond and above my expectations…..the morning of my wedding day… I was going crazy….and forgot my garter at home in Tampa…..Claudia had a staff member go out and buy one just for me…… at like 9pm… in the evening…..to please me… I was speechless when she came with the garter in her hand…..I could not thank her enough…. The staff was also very polite and easy going….they just made my special day so memorable…..everything was great!!! I would highly recommend them to anyone…..

Diana and Claudia, the coordinators I worked with, handled EVERYTHING! They made my wedding so easy and so smooth. They even went above and beyond making sure to pay attention to all the small details including making the color of the table announcements they created match the color of the petal decorations that we brought perfectly. We even had two people decide a few days before the wedding that they were going to join us, and Claudia worked with me to keep me calm and made their surprise visit possible! Everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful. I could not have asked for a better venue!

As soon as I saw the ceremony site and the Presendential Ballroom I had no doubt where to have my wedding. Both are breathtaking. We worked with Cherish. She was always prompt in responding and had a way of keeping me calm during the planning process. The day of the wedding she made sure everything went smoothly. Two months later and I'm still getting compliments. Everyone at the Grand Plaza from the time you check in til you check out were amazing. If you are looking for great service then this is the place to go. I was a destination bride so this was a huge factor for me. Everyone there made our wedding better than I could have planned. Us and many of our guests are eagerly planning trips back to visit the Grand Plaza.

Having our wedding at the Grand Plaza was amazing. The beaches are beautiful, clean, and refreshing. The staff were great and our wedding coordinator was the absolute best. I am so glad we had our wedding here. Our day was perfect, not only because the weather was amazing, but because the staff made my big day perfect. :)

My husband and I got married on May 8, 2011 at the Grand Plaza, on the south beach. Our wedding coordinator, Cherish, was completely amazing and awesome!! We live in Indiana so planning a destination wedding was stressful! We did not have the opportunity to see the resort before booking, meet our DJ or photographer, or taste cakes before ordering. Cherish gave us a list of recommended vendors and we went right down the lists until we found the ones that best suited us. During the whole time, she kept me cool and calm assuring us that our vendors were the best...and she was right!!! I was always emailing her with silly questions and she would write back asap...such a blessing!!! The hotel staff was great and the hotel was clean! There were so many weddings that weekend of ours that it just assured me even more that they know what they are doing. The Presidential Ballroom was absolutely amazing!! All glass, overlooking the gulf...just beautiful!!! We could not have asked for better service and a better coordinator. Cherish was the best! We are already planning our trip down next year for our 1 year anniversary!!!

My wedding at GP was gorgeous. Sadly, it rained right as my ceremony was about to take place, but thankfully, our coordinator Diana had a back up plan in place. Diana is a saint; I dont know how many times I e-mailed her with crazy questions but she was SO helpful and kind. Even though we had to have a back-up ceremony inside, it was still gorgeous. The service in the dining room was excellent. We were treated like the King & Queen by the banquet staff and the food was pretty tasty. The linens were gorgeous too and they added a nice touch to our reception. Over all, I would say the Grand Plaza is a lovely place to have your wedding. I'm pretty sure we'll be staying there to celebrate our anniversary next year.

I can't say enough about the Grand Plaza. Everyone at the front desk was incredibly helpful, organized and eager to please us. Our coordinator Glorida was also amazing. She made the planning process and wedding run completely smooth! She answered all of our questions and made us feel completely relaxed about the whole experience. She went way above and beyond what we were expected.

We stayed at a Sandals on our honeymoon and we missed the Grand Plaza!

The Grand Plaza was an amazing place to have a Wedding... You do have the onlookers but you also have the AMAZING white sand beach right next to you!! My wedding planner Kristi was AWESOME. She was available 24/7 it seemed and so helpful with everything! I had even had a few things lost and they did everything possible to reimburse me and return it. They were awesome! A very friendly staff and the penthouses were incredible! I would def go back for and anniversary and be treated like royalty again!

We dealt with Diana, the wedding coordinator!! She was amazing and on top of everything at all times. She made sure everything was how I wanted and all was on time. If I needed anything, from the day we started planning the wedding up to the last minute, she was there for me!! I love her and thank her sooo much for making my day so perfect!!! Not to mention, the location was beautiful and the ballroom upstairs, was perfect!!!! Everyone loved everything about the wedding!!

This hotel is the best, I received quality serice for a reasonable price. This was a destination wedding for me, so I had guests coming from all over and it was important to keep everyone together or as close as possible. I had my ceremony on the beach and my receptional inside the hotel, and most of my guest stayed at this hotel. Very convenient, it saved us from having to get a limo and having to keep track of everyone. This hotel also came with a event coordinator which was also a very big help. She was in contact with me every step of the way.

The Grand Plaza is the perfect place to have your wedding if you are looking to celebrate your special date/ceremony at the beach:-) The view is wonderful. They have two venues for the reception that are beautiful!!!

I had an awesome experience and thank every one at the Grand Plaza who made my special day a flawless, beatiful, and enjoyable one. I personally worked with Kristi Lee Vessenmeyer. She was kind, friendly, professional, honest, and caring. She was always available when I needed her. Kristi always used reassuring words in her emails when I was feeling concerned, or overwhelmed.

The food was delicious :-)

On my wedding day she said" Happy wedding date, today is your day, and I am here for you". I can not thank her enough for everything she did that day. My ceremony and reception venue looked amazing, and all the vendors were guided and provided with instructions on what to do. Thanks again:-)

Their suites are huge, and very very nice. You can enjoy the great view of the city, or the ocean.

We chose The Grand because of pricing originally...then we met the people, and have to say, that's why we really chose to stay.

Originally our coordinator was Liz, but, 6 ish months before our wedding, I received a phone call that said she was no longer at The Grand, and a young lady by the name of Cherish would be taking care of us. That was the greatest gift in the world. Cherish and I hit it off immediately, and she went out of her way to help us feel comfortable about the transition, which, did I mention, was the greatest thing ever to happen to our wedding????

From helping my DJ-refusing fiancé find someone perfect, to spending lots of extra time with my parents when they came to visit and see the venue, to sending a bottle of champagne to our penthouse when the bridesmaids and I were getting ready, and letting us borrow a few items from her own wedding a few months prior to help set up....simply incredible.

Just a few of the things that were so above and beyond...

I'm sure most wedding coordinators have a flask in their desks for the groom, and Cherish had shown to us in our first meeting, filled with Crown Royale. After getting to know us, and realizing my fiancé has quite a love of cognac and high end scotches, the day of the wedding she brought him a single glass of a ridiculously high end cognac from her own husbands collection and called me to make sure it would do! Just to be sweet, knowing that my fiancé probably wouldn't need it, but would definitely appreciate it:)

A few days before e wedding, we found out that the wedding earlier in the day than ours decided that, since they were almost at capacity in their reception space, having invited too many people, wanted to move to our space...only giving us a barely 2 hour turnaround...and we were doing the decorating ourselves. Cherish tried to talk them out of it nicely, but to no avail. The dayof the wedding, when a group of family members and friends went down to help (including my mother, who had been working really hard on a vintage candy table), they found that the earlier reception was just breaking up-almost an hour behind schedule! Cherish walked in, shocked, as well, and, while I haven't been able to gather exactly what went down, it seems that when everyone went back to check 45 minutes later (except my mother, whom Cherish had banished upstairs to be with me:) ) EVERYTHING was done! All of the centerpieces were in their proper place, the cake draping was done, peacock feathers in the back of each chair, candy table beautiful, place cards, everything. I know it was Cherish. It was gorgeous.

There are a million other little things, but those are the two will give you an idea of just how fantastic Cherish is.

A note on The Grand Plaza in general...
It looks a bit dated, the water dosnt always run consistently hot, and the elevators will aggravate the he'll out of you! BUT the people-ALL of the staff- from concierge to bellhops, to the waiters and cleaning staff-are all incredible, and will go out of there way to make your day, and the time that your guests spend there, as incredible as possible. We ended up staying 2 extra nights, and Larry ( nicest guy ever!) gave us the Penthouse for (1-a free upgrade) a ridiculous steal, because they had the room available. He also said to call him up for our anniversary and he will try to get us the same room:)

We love St Pete beach and The Grand is going to be our new family hotel. They may seem a little pricey at first for jus a regular beach stay, but they have incredible deals, spacious rooms, delicious food, and amazing staff.

I am so happy I chose to get married at the Grand Plaza. I will have such wonderful memories for the rest of my life. The entire staff is incredibl and so helpful in every way. I felt confident that my wedding and reception was in the best hands possible and trruly allowed me to feel calm and relaxed on my wedding day. I had the best wedding ever. I got lucky and booked the hotel when it was the Holiday Inn before the remodel so I got a great rate. The food & bar were awesome. The room was gordeous and I got married right on the sand. Everyone stayed at the hotel for the weekend and partied the whole weekend. My coordinator Cherish took care of my vendors on the day of the wedding so I could relax and get ready in the awesome penthouse.

I would reccomend Grand Plaza to any future brides or even for vacation spot. I booked my wedding with them over a year before my wedding date. Kristi stuck with my the entire time. She was so easy to work with and answered all my questions. She made everything easy to understand. I was actually really nervous for hidden charges and being an out of town bride. Kristi showed everything up front and put anything i need into perspective. The ceremony went smooth and the staff was amazing. They accomdated to anything we need and even upgraded us to the penthouse (complimentry). The staff offered to bring me a plate a food and did whatever they could. They even helped us set up the ceremony room and did whatever they could to accomdate. I would do it over again! The beach was amazing and my wedding guest had the time of their life. The guest loved every minute of it and raved about the food.Thank you GRAND PLAZA and most of all KRISTI! I couldn't have done it with out you.

We booked our wedding in February this year with Diana Faye Mautino for the 29 September 2010. We travelled from Ireland with 22 of our family and close friends and stayed at the Grand Plaza for 5 nights. Travelling from outside USA and holding our wedding in Florida was a very daunting experience. Diana was great from the moment we booked until the final few weeks of the Wedding. She also made sure that all arrangements went smoothly on the day. All the staff at Grand Plaza where great at making the day very special. We are very happy that we choose Grand Plaza to hold our wedding.

EXCELLENT Place to have a wedding!!!! ALL the staff were amazing!! They made everything stress free. From Spinners to Bongos, inside and out! It was a great experience. I loved having my wedding there and would recommend to anyone!!! The Grand Plaza has given me the best memories that will last a life time. I will never forget the time I had there and the wonderful, professional, helpful staff that work there. Kristi and Diana are amazing. They were there for me when i needed, whether if it was for last minute changes or a simple question, they were on top of everything. I can't say enough about the Grand Plaza...I had the wedding of dreams there! If you want a beach wedding the Grand Plaza is definitely the place to have it. I looked all over St. Pete Beach and Clearwater and no other hotel comes close to the Grand Plaza, not just in price but also beauty, specially if you have your reception in the Presidential Ballroom. As soon as I walked in that room I knew I wanted to have my reception there. The view is absolutely breathtaking and you and your guests will never forget it! They also treat it like royalty the day of the wedding! They helped me create an incredibly magical day!!!!

I had an absolute wonderful experience with Grand Plaza for my destination wedding. I first worked with Cherish, but she went on maternity leave and Claudia took over and she was just as wonderful. I had the most non stressful wedding day ever and the day went ABSOLUTELY perfect. The day of the wedding, I was running around because i felt like i needed to be doing something and Claudia rest assured me that i should be relaxing and I basically didn't even have to think that day. They set up everything perfectly, everything we so smoothly, it looked beautiful, and I received so many compliments on how good the food was. I couldn't have made a better choice. Thank you Grand Plaza for making me have the most perfect wedding day EVER!!!!

The ceremony was held on the beach and was beautiful. We rented an arch from the hotel that our Florist decorated. There were two locations to choose from on the beach to hold the ceremony. Both have palm trees lining the isles. We just loved it! There are 4 rooms to choose from within the hotel for the reception. We chose the Imperial Ballroom. It was gorgeous!! Our food was delicious and the service was very nice! The cost was really reasonable as well.

The grand plaza hotel was the best location for our wedding by far! The presidential ballroom and ocean view was absolutely beautiful and perfect. No other place compared! The reception staff was available the day of the event to assist us in anyway and was very flexible in preparing our reception room to our liking. Our coordinator, Elizabeth Smith, was organized, decisive, always helpful and very knowledgeable in all aspects of our ceremony and reception. She should be commended on her excellent service and willingness to assist us in any way. The upgrade for us to the penthouse suite was over the top. No problems or concerns were discovered during the entire wedding or reception. The weather was perfect and the reception was awesome. Our guests loved the reception, food, beach, hotel rooms, reception and decorations. The food tasting prior to the wedding was awesome as well and prepared exactly as we chose. I would highly recommend Grand Plaza Hotel to anyone looking for their wedding.

The Grand Plaza Resort 0n St. Petersburg Beach Fl was a beautiful site for my Daughters wedding on 9/9/09. The Catering Manager Diana set us up with a wonderful wedding package that included the ceremony, dinner, drinks, appetizers and the wedding cake. She was so very helpful in regards to her guidance in planning this event and the assistance of her staff in all the setup and working with all our vendors, from our linens, DJ, Cake supplier, Florists and our special requested Cuban Cigar Roller went seamless. Being the Mother of the Bride I wanted everything to be perfect (especially taking a year to plan) The day was beautiful with the wedding being a sunset ceremony on the beach to the patio of the Imperial Room first level of the hotel which was set up with a bar and appetizers and the cigar roller for our guests. Then the guests were guided to the reception room which was so beautifully decorated for a buffet style dinner and dancing. This event couldn�t have been any better!!! We had so many compliments from our guests regarding the food and the beautiful setup of our reception. Thank you Diana for making this a wonderful and stress free experience!!!

After checking out the website and based on the reviews here, I decided to give Cherish Coddington a call.
I was an out of state bride and so I found the Plaza via an online search came here to Wedding Wire for reviews and then sent my wedding planner and my husband to check it out.
Between the three of us, we sent Cherish countless emails and she handled it all with such cheer and grace and her response time was impeccable. The days when she was not in office, we were notified. Now that may seem like no big deal but when one is stressed, the small things make a huge difference and I appreciated being notified of when to expect her return. I definitely felt that our day was important to Cherish and the hotel.
The hotel's style was a definite reflection of our personalities and was exactly what we were looking for and with the support of Cherish and her team, we turned their Imperial Room into our island paradise. We had very unique ideas and Cherish was very supportive in making them a reality.
They have a wide selection of items on their menu and we were able to make selections that fit into our island vibe and they did not disappoint. Kudos to the chef because that Jerk Chicken was da bomb!
ALL of the staff and I'm not kidding all of the staff were friendly from the front desk to Miss Jackie, our room attendant to the bar staff to Antonio.
I remember walking through the lobby just before the ceremony and all of the staff being just as excited as I was. I also remember I had an issue with my room key at 3am, I went down to the lobby and it was resolved in less than 5mins
We feel that our wedding day was perfect as our guests had an awesome time, our vendors enjoyed working with them and so did we!

Our wedding coordinator, Liz Smith, was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, warm, and responsive to our needs. I cannot say enough about her or The Grand Plaza. Our wedding guests were blown away with the beauty of the reception hall, the proximity to the water, the quality of the food, and the old Florida feel of the hotel. The catering manager, Bill Bestman, was helpful when it came time to determine how much food to order for the number of people we were hosting. Even the bellman, Antonio, was wonderful and went above and beyond for us. We have referred many people to The Grand Plaza and will continue to do so.

We chose the Grand Plaza for our beach wedding after seeing their spectacular Presidential Ballroom with a 180 degree view of The Gulf of Mexico. It was stunning. They specialize in beach weddings and have very attractive packages that you can tailor to your needs. The ceremony was held outside at the beach. They have a North and a South Beach location as well as an indoor location in case of inclement weather. Their staff is helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. We chose the Deluxe Buffet which includes a four hour open bar. Those ladies working there were awesome to us and our guests! The food was great and our guests raved about the natural beauty of the place. The hotel itself is simple and laid back...perfect for what we were looking for our wedding. All rooms have balconies. We chose to book a suite which has two balconies. We stayed for the long weekend and had an absolute blast even after the wedding was over. I highly recommend this venue for brides looking for their perfect beach weddings! Book early though...the hotel specializes in beach weddings are are booked way in advance.

We were married at the Grand Plaza on May 22, 2009. It was an easy decision to book this venue. My mom, sister and I happened across it one day while looking at venues. Liz Smith met with us right away (when we didn't even have an appointment) and showed us all available ceremony sites and reception rooms. Mom wanted to book it that instant, but I needed my husband-to-be see it as well. A few months later he and I went over to see it. He liked it immediately. We decided to book it that day and celebrated with drinks in Spinners.

Liz was awesome to work with and was always there to answer questions, give advice as needed and "handle any surprises" without ever being asked. She really helped us design a wedding weekend that was a perfect fit for us. All our guests were from out of town and to this day they cannot stop raving about the wedding, the hotel (particularly Bongo Bongo's) and the beach. Our wedding day and weekend could not have gone more perfectly, from greeting all our guests at the hotel, to the sun coming out just as I walked down the isle, to our "shuffle, shuffle, slide" dance at the end of our reception, and to our friend and family weekend on the beach.

Based on my own experience, Grand Plaza absolutely deserves 5/5 stars in all of these categories! The venue and our coordinator, Cherish Coddington, was absolutely phenomenal in accommodating our needs and wishes for our wedding day. We contacted Cherish with a very tight budget, and she was able/happy to work efficiently and creatively to let us have a wedding that was just Wonderful, AND within our financial means!!!

Although we were NOT big spenders, Grand Plaza was EXTREMELY generous to us in any/all ways that were feasible. Since our wedding was Sunday during the daytime, there was more flexibility. As only our event was taking place there at that time, they let us use 2 different event rooms - one for our ceremony, and another for our reception - and we always had the personal attention of Cherish, herself. They went above and beyond, offering perks like these that we never even thought were possible.

We had a BEAUTIFUL ceremony (in the comfort of the A/C with a gorgeous view of the gulf) - then walked out onto the beach for pictures while guests went upstairs for cocktails.

Our reception was in the Presidential ballroom, the views were to-die-for, and it was absolutely classic. Cherish didn't miss a beat - everyone (bakery, florist, servers, DJ/MC etc) was exactly where they needed to be - I didn't need to worry about coordinating anything, and the event was flawless! I can't thank Cherish, and Grand Plaza, enough for the unforgettable experience that we had with them!

I had my reception in the Imperial Ballroom at the Grand Plaza. It was even more beautiful than I imagined. The wedding coordinators are so helpful and friendly. Diana is who I dealt with and she is a gem!!! I think I called her several times a week for months and she was always helpful and friendly even though I was probably a pain. They were amazing to deal with and they stay the day of the event to make sure everything goes well. I would highly recommend the Grand Plaza for your wedding. It is a beautiful venue and the staff is amazing!!! Our wedding day turned out perfect and I owe a lot of that to the Grand Plaza!

Excellent venue! We chose this hotel because of the location, reception room and beauty...price was also great. We were married on Friday May 1, 2009 on the beach at the hotel. This hotel has set up 2 palm tree lined isles on the beach for the ceremony, and will provide chairs, tables and an arch when requested. They have mulitple reception rooms to fit any style, from high in the sky overlooking the entire beach from their floor to ceiling windows, to a beachside room that fits over 100+ to the small informal room we chose, which was the Palm room. It was right off the pool, had indoor and outdoor seating and sat about 35 people inside and 30 outside (not for those who want a dance floor). It was perfect! Our coordinator was Cherish Coddington. She was absolultely the best. I worked closely with her and Kristi for over 10 months. The wedding went off without any issues and it was all due to Cherish's dedication to our happiness. The catering department, and all other areas of the hotel staff that assisted were wonderful in making sure everything was perfect. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and our guests compliment on it still!
Note: I would recommend to anyone having a beach wedding (if you are having more then just a few guests) to have a PA system. Most of our guests said they could barely or not at all hear anything from the officiate or us. It was a shame as our ceremony was beautiful and fit us perfectly and we would have liked our guests to hear it.

Liz was absolutely amazing! We truly had the wedding of our dreams and Liz helped us out in every way possible. Anytime I had a question, or needed advice she was always there with an answer. We couldn't have done it with out her, it was like having a personal wedding planner. We are so thankful!

Doug and I live in Kansas City. When we got engaged, we both knew we wanted to have an intimate wedding ceremony on the beach. We have vacationed in St. Pete before and were looking for hotels in the area to have our wedding. We traveled to Florida and looked at several venues. As soon as we went to the Grand Plaza, I knew our decision was made. We met with Diana, the Catering Sales Manager. She put my mind at ease in having a destination wedding. Diana told me that she too had her destination wedding there and knew how difficult it could be. Over the next 6 months, we kept in constant contact. She is so quick to call or e-mail you back with any questions. I put a lot of faith in her sewing up details to make sure our day was perfect. I would do it all over again in a heart beat. Our day was planned to the last detail. I didn't have to worry about a thing because Diana had a team of people making sure nothing went wrong.

Our reception was in the Presidential Ballroom. It has the most breathtaking panoramic views of the beach! The room can accommodate a larger party around 70 or so. We had a smaller group, but the room was still put together so that it didn't feel empty. The food was absolutely amazing! The staff serving the event were fantastic as well.

Our day ended up to be the happiest of our lives. I am so happy that we chose the Grand Plaza. I cannot thank Diana and her staff enough for all that they did to make our wedding day perfect and memorable!

The Grand Plaza provides a wedding coordinator, mine was Liz Smith. She is such a pleasant and happy person. She made sure everything I needed was available (even for my private dinner rehearsal.)

I originally booked with another venue, which went into foreclosure 30 days before the wedding!!! I found Grand Plaza and they made sure to make the changes as seemless as possible. Because of the short booking, they worked with my budget and really pulled through for me. I would recommend using this venue to anyone looking for a beach fairytale. Our reception was in the Presidental Ballroom and all of my guest was speechless by our sunset view over the ocean. It was worth every penny.

This hotel is such a beautiful hotel with its unique structure. The staff was absolutely amazing! I couldnt have asked for a better wedding coordinator, Liz smith was perfect in everyway. She was such a big help to my husband and I. We are so blessed that we got to work with this wonderful staff.

The Grand Plaza was the only choice for us, we wanted a beach ceremony and the Imperial Room is level with the beach, not on the second floor! Liz Smith the event coordinator gave us the grand tour. You can tell from the moment you walk in they are very organized. Kristi was just amazing throughout the process. She was so attentive and answered all of our questions. On our wedding day, she really made everything easy for us. All the details were taken care of, even coordinating the bride and groom so they don't see each other on the wedding day. We just loved the penthouse room we booked for the wedding night, the views up there are stunning. My out of town guests were very pleased to be able to have their accomodations on site. The catering staff and the food (grouper, chicken and roast beef) were amazing and we received lots of compliments from our guests. The ceremony went off without a hitch on the beach with our spectacular sunset just as we had invisioned! The list of recommended vendors they supplied also helped immensely by narrowing down the other vendors we also needed to book. Our wedding cake was included as part of our package and that was a huge savings!

The grand plaza was the perfect place for my small (destination) beach wedding. The presidential ballroom was gorgeous and our planner, Kristy, made everything come together smoothly on the big day. The food was amazing, the pictures came our great, and I am so glad we found it!

The Grand Plaza was wonderful! But the event coordinator, Liz Smith, is AWESOME!!! She is incredibly friendly and helpful from start to finish. Things went fairly well for me up to the wedding day...no stress, etc. Then when things started to go a little awry, Liz was there to save the day. When we added more people 2 days before the wedding, she took care of it...I had forgotten to call the other vendor to add chair covers, Liz had already made the arrangements by the time I remembered. When my flowers hadn't opened by the morning of the wedding, Liz called the florist. When I was unable to do anything while getting my hair and makeup done, Liz brought me drinks. She continued to help through the wedding, bringing us food before the reception and seeing to it that my day was perfect! Which it was! The Grand Plaza has 2 beautiful reception sites and the beach ceremony was wonderful (They have 2 rain back-ups as well). The food was really good, wait staff was on top of everything. We would recommend the Grand Plaza and Liz to anyone!

We had such a wonderful wedding at the Grand Plaza and would recommend it to anyone looking for a classic beach wedding. The presidential ballroom is amazing and the view is hard to beat. Our event coordinator Liz Smith was amazing! She truly went out of her way to make sure our special day was perfect! I cannot say enough good things about her professionalism and dedication to her guests. The penthouse rooms are awesome and the wedding package includes so much that it is truly a great deal. As soon as we saw the Presidential Ballroom we fell in love! Kristi took care of every detail of our wedding reassuring us that everything would turn out great. It was above all my expectations. She didn't stop working and replying to emails even when she was on her cruise vacation. Our wedding was stress free and a day I'll always remember as perfect.

The Grand Plaza Hotel was the perfect place for our wedding. They included not only a ceremony on the beach and a reception room, but they also included the food, drinks, center pieces, cake, linens and wedding planners all in one reasonable price. Having so many things in one place and only having to write one check, made my job a lot less stressful. The wedding planners were wonderful in helping us plan every moment of the wedding. On the day of our wedding, we unfortunately had bad weather and the planners were able to set us up in a beautiful back-up room instead of the beach. The entire day went so smoothly, it was nice to know that I could just enjoy the day and not worry about a thing. Any bride would be lucky to get married in such a beautiful hotel with such wonderful people.

What a great place to have that perfect FL wedding. We had something particular in our minds when we started looking for a venue. We drove up and down the coast and was so disappointed in everything we saw. No one showed us around, they just told us to look around. All the reception rooms were hidden in the back with no windows! What was the point of being on the beach if you didn't have a view?? And their food was so ridiculously priced! Not to mention the tacky carpet that wouldn't match with our colors.

Then we came across the Grand Plaza. We walked into the lobby and loved how everything looked, white & classic. We were told Cherish, one of the wedding coordinators will be with us shortly. "You mean someone will meet us??" Cherish came, and she was so bright with the friendliest smile you've ever seen. She showed us outside on the beach, where the ceremonies take place. Beautiful! They have palm trees for the beginning of the aisle! She had a meeting to go to, so she gave us vouchers for the restaurant upstairs while we waited. The restaurant spins 360 deg.. but don't worry, spins very very slow. So you get to see the whole view! She came to get us when she was done and took us to the presidential room, where a wedding of our size would have the reception. As soon we saw this room, my heart skipped a beat. I knew this was the place I wanted. The room had floor to ceiling windows for 50% of the room, showing off the whole coast! There was white tile covering the whole room.. no tacky carpet!! Beautiful chandeliers.. everything was stunning! I knew I wanted it, but I knew it would be expensive. Cherish took us in her office and gave us the prices. To our suprise, it wasn't expensive at all! It was totally in our budget! They do the catering there, so we didn't have to find a catering company. And so many choices! They also have a deal with the bakery, where you get a free wedding cake!! Uh HELLO? We upgraded our cake, so it only costed us $75 for a 3 tiered gorgeously decorated cake.
On the wedding day, everything turned out so beautiful. Cherish and the rest of the grand plaza crew helped every step of the way to make our day perfect. We got so many compliments of the location we picked. Everyone couldn't believe how beautiful it was. We had a lot of out of state guests, so it was important to show them FL in true beach fashion.

We loved everything about this venue. They treated us like royalty and everything was just out of this world beautiful. 100 million % recommend!!

The Grand Plaza is the perfect place to have your wedding if you are looking for a beach ceremony/reception. The presidential ballroom is absolutely breathtaking. All my guest where taken back by the amazing view during dinner which happened to be while everyone was sitting down eating dinner. The staff was so helpful from the moment I may the initial appointment to see the hotel up until the very end of the wedding. The entire staff really works as a team from the wedding coordinators to the front desk to the kitchen... everything just flowed perfectly. I received many compliments from my guest about the incredible food that was served (make sure to try the parmesan stuffed tomatoes). I have the most increible pictures that were taken in both the ballroom and out on the beach. There is no better location to have your wedding, in fact we all had such a wonderful experenice that about 20 of my friends and family are all retuning back to the Hotel during memorial Day weekend :)

The hotel was great, staff was great and most of all Kristi Vessenmeyer was SO great! She helped me plan this destination wedding and I was more than impressed! I recommend this hotel for anyone that is thinking about a beach wedding. Also, the presidental suite was GORGEOUS for our daytime reception! I can't rave enough about this hotel and staff!

I am from Cincinnati, Ohio and choose Grand Plaza before I even stepped foot on the property. I made a phone call and was conected to Liz Smith who sent me the information and bascially from that point on became a friend. Liz took care of us from top to bottom. She refered us to quality and dependable vendors and went above and beyond to make sure we were absolutly happy. We couldn't imagine a better place to have a wedding and the presidential ballroom is the best on the beach hands down. You won't be disappointed.

We really enjoyed working with our wedding coordinator, Liz Smith, at the Grand Plaza. She made planning a destination wedding a complete breeze. She got back to us in a timely manner whenever I emailed with a question and was really patient with all questions I had. She also helped plan a food tasting when we were able to make it down to visit the hotel in person. The event staff helped so much the day of the wedding to make sure that everything went out on time.

The hotel itself wasn't everything we could ask for, but the wedding itself was so beautiful that it ultimately did not matter to us.

The hotel provided a perfect setting for my beach wedding. the site came with a wedding cordinator who took charge and helped run the show. she made sure everything went as planned. i told them how i wanted the arch (alter) to look and how i wanted the seating to look. they had everything perfect on my wedding day. the top floor was great for the reception. my guests and i got to enjoy the ocean view all around without the heat and sand. We could not have picked a better place to have our wedding! I cannot say enough about the attentiveness of this staff...everyone was so pleasant, helpful and accommodating. Our ceremony location on the beach was gorgeous and so was the Imperial Ballroom for the reception. Our friends are still telling us how great the food was too!

I went through a lot of coordinators, but I finally ended up with Cherish. She was always quick to respond to my emails and made sure everything was ordered. She kept things moving at the rehearsal and ceremony and made sure that everyone was where they were supposed to be at the right time. I don't remember seeing her at the reception....maybe she was there, but I didn't see her. The waitstaff was fantastic - always smiling and taking care of us and our guests. The bartender was awesome, too! Their prices are getting a bit high, so I am glad I had locked in my rates - which they were happy to honor!

My husband and I were recently married on St. Pete Beach on April 29, 2011 at the Grand Plaza Resort. This was a destination wedding and planning everything from Pennsylvania was very nerve racking. I worked with Diana at the Grand Plaza and she was extremely helpful throughout the entire planning process. She was very informative and was very quick to respond to emails and phone whenever I had questions.

We arrived to the hotel a few days before the wedding, and much to my horror there was an event taking place on the beach that weekend. The beach is public so the hotel cannot block traffic on the beach. My wedding was on a Friday and they were setting up for an event that was taking place on Saturday. There were tents and plastic fencing set up on the beach near the ceremony site. I was horrified as the view my guests would see during the ceremony was plastic fencing instead of the bright blue ocean. I contacted Diana immediately and she assured me she would do her best to look into the situation. For the inconvenience she immediately upgraded me and my fiancé to one of the beautiful penthouse suites for the duration of our stay. The hotel was not allowed to take down the fencing, so my bridesmaids took it upon themselves to go and take the orange fencing down so it wouldn’t be in our wedding photos. In the end it all worked out.

We were married on the south beach and aside from the orange fencing (which was mostly taken down) it was beautiful! The hotel had everything neatly set up and looked great for our big day. We used the imperial ballroom for our reception and it worked out great. The imperial was on the first floor and had a porch that allowed guest to go in and out as they pleased. The staff at the Grand Plaza did a great job of decorating for our reception and the staff members that served us that evening were very professional and friendly. Overall we had a great experience and would highly recommend this venue!!

The Plaza provided an excellent planner who made the entire process enjoyable. She was always available, very informative and friendly. I was so calm on my wedding day because I knew she had everything under control. The Grand Plaza has an incredible website that describes everything available and provides lots of pictures.

We loved having our wedding at the Grand Plaza. It was exactly what we were looking for. It was nice that most of our guests were able to stay and enjoy the after reception party, the rooms were affordable for everyone to enjoy the whole weekend with us!

We had the imperial ballroom which was absolutely gorgeous. The price was amazing for the location and room that we had. Over our 456 day engagement we had three different coordiators. We booked the location because we loved the first one. She was let go 2 months into planning and no one informed us. We found out when I had planned a trip down to St. Pete and texted her to go to lunch. I was so heartbroken but did meet coordinator number two who was professional and nice but I didn't feel as comfortable as before. 9 months after she started she changed careers and we were switched again. I had been engaged and dealing with Grand Plaza for almost a year and had heard loads of great things (plus she got married in the imperial with most of my vendors) about Cherish and requested her specifically and had no problems being switched to her. She. was. amazing. Her enthusiasm was amazing. Her attention to detail and professionalism was impeccable. She gave me the confidence that she knew what she was doing yet the comfort that she would do it beautifully and she did. She's very creative and when I showed her an idea she had she was honest that it looked horrible (which i thought it did hence why i asked) and then gave me a great idea that used what I already had. The hotel staff at the front desk weren't exactly on the same page on the room availability end and I was concerned about that. We were married on 11/11/11 and the rooms were booking up and they told us that so we rushed around to make sure everyone made reservations. Sometimes people would call and the front desk would say they were booked up and then five minutes later a different front desk person would say otherwise. But everyone had rooms when it came down to it. The rooms were gorgeous! And our Suite was fantastic and perfect for getting ready. When we first booked he outside looked really dirty but a couple months before the wedding they either repainted or pressure washed it cause it looked a lot better. The only downside for the imperial is all the sides have gorgeous french doors or mirrors. Except for one door that is a hideous reflective material. Fortunately our DJ pretty much covered that area. I did hear they are replacing it though.

The grand plaza was a amazing place to have our reception, we had the presidential room, and it overlooked the bay very nice at night we saw the beautiful sunset, it was a gorgeous reception. they did double book my wedding originally and i found out three months later and i was the one that had to move everything there was only a couple of dates i could pick from and we also already scheduled the honeymoon so we had to move everything! they did in the end make up for it however and after that they made things go smoothly. i would recommened this place it was gorgeous and food was amazing

I LOVED the Grand Plaza.our coordinator Diana was wonderful. It was a beautiful beach ceremony and the Presidential Ballroom was breathtaking. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone. The only negative was that it was highly priced for the quality of the food.

The Grand Plaza Hotel is a beautiful place to have your wedding and reception. The staff are very friendly and courteous. Diana definately calmed my nerves antime I was losing it. It was such a blessing to have a coordinator on the big day so I didn't have to worry about a thing! The mirrors in one of the reception halls and the linen choices are a little outdated, but The Grand Plaza is a wonderful place to have a wedding. I would recommend them to anyone! Oh, and the beds are amazing!! I want one of those mattresses at my house.

We found this hotel online. And choose this venue for the Reception room. The view is simply amazing. It made our reception, and we heard from our guest they loved the view.

The Hotel rooms are average at best. The hey you are right on the beach. The staff was nice to work with. The food quality was high. The hotel was clean.

The only drawback was when busy it could take a few minutes longer than wanted to wait for an elevator.

I would recommend this hotel.

WE loved the venue and we had a great wedding. The hotel staff that worked at and during our reception was AMAZING.... Semone was amazing and took care of myself & my husband. The day we were leaving we asked for an extra 30 mins to get things packed up and they gave us a hard time & we were locked out of our room. You would think after spending all that money they could give you 30 minutes and not lock the bride & groom out of there room.
Liz was our original coordinator and the week before our wedding we were told we had someone new to work with and when i arrived to set up the plans were not exact but they got fixed quickly. It was good- the quality of rooms could be a bit better but the reception area amazing..

The Grand Plaza Resort was the perfect place for our special day. The staff was very friendly & helpful & after we toured the hotel & Imperial Ballroom, we knew this was the place for our wedding. The ceremony sites they offer are beautiful & the ballroom they decorated for us was stunning. This venue made our wedding day beautiful & perfect.

The location was amazing, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the room looked gorgeous! Everyone commented on how delicious the food was and I have to agree. I would highly recommend this venue!!

All of our guests loved the Grand Plaza and we loved having everyone there making the days before the wedding like a huge vacation with our closest friends and family. The onsite restaurants are wonderful and so are the other dining locations within walking distances. The prices were great; the staff was wonderful making my husband and I feel special and all remembered we were there to be married that week.

Our wedding coordinator Kristi was exceptional-always there to help and make sure we had what we needed. She was with us from start to finish of our wedding and a joy to work with.

The only problem, if you could really call it that, was that some of our guests did not get in our room block so we had a hard time tracking them down to put their goody bags we made for them. For the most part the front desk staff was helpful in this endeavor and in the end everyone received a bag.

There was a maintenance issue with some of the rooms leaking after a storm but again the staff refunded rooms and even compensated some of our guests room service and food or bar charges.

I would highly recommend the Grand Plaza to anyone-I just wish we could do it all over again!

I would have given them 3 stars, but the old coordinator left and I got Tammy who did an awesome job. Minus some of the old problems we had I really feel if we would have had Tammy the whole time none of these problems would have existed. She did her best to work with us and give us everything we needed. She was very organized. The banquet staff was really professional and nice as well. The view is amazing in the presidential ballroom and everyone loved it. It is only good for 80 or less people though. We had 70 which was perfect.

We had our ceremony right at sunset on the beach, and then we moved indoors for our reception. The Grand Plaza Hotel is such a beautiful location for your wedding. The atmosphere is calm, the hotel is beautiful, and the food is delicious! Plus, their service is first-class! The only real problem that I had with them is that their communication could be a little better. It took them a few days to get back with me, whether if I called or if I emailed.

The hotel staff is wonderful and accommodating - everyone from the maid to the bellman was friendly and went out of their way to help us. The venue itself is rather dated.

When I first booked with the hotel, my on-site coordinator was amazing, professional, and proficient. However, closer to the wedding, she left and I was transferred to another coordinator. I wasnt' as impressed with her lack of professionalism. She took days to repsond to my emails and wasn't very helpful the day of. We had many day-off changes due to weather, and she didn't seem very understanding, sympathetic or helpful. My husband had to pretty much make all the changes himself because she wasn't helpful or merely couldn'd be found. However, the venue is beautiful, they bumped me up to a presidental suite for my stay. They are also very, very reasonably price. I was blown away by the amount of stuff I was able to get for the price we paid. They also don't charge a ceremony fee, and they won't charge a room charge if you meet the F&B minimum.

We knew we wanted to get married at this hotel as soon as we saw it, it is truly beautiful and the beach ceremony sites are amazing. We went with the north site and it was just beautiful.

The front of house staff were brilliant and really helpful. The staff working at our reception were also fab they were very helpful and efficient.

We booked the wedding in 2008 for 2010 and we were really impressed that we were able to lock in at 2008 prices. The food was amazing and the portions were huge - no one left hungry!

The day itself was brilliant, but I must admit I was a little disappointed that our original wedding planner left and the new one did not really seem to take that much interest. We went to an appointment with the planner to pay our final balance and to meet the staff. Our new planner was on leave so could not meet us, so we met Gloria, who was lovely. Unfortunately she was not there on our day so we had not met the wedding staff working our day. Luckily we did not need our planner much on the day as to be honest I barely saw her.

The sales department and the wedding planners are fantastic. They do a wonderful job of mediating all vendors and making planning virtually stress free for a couple. The ceremony and the reception was flawless. I loved every second of it. With that being said, the actual hotel staff was awful. The worst I have ever been treated. I would recommend having the ceremony and reception at the Grand Plaza just have your guests stay somewhere else because this part they did not get right.

The location was gorgeous. Kristi was very helpful during the planning. She definitely went above and beyond for us. The banquet servers were amazing. Food was great.
My only complaint is the front desk staff---While they were very polite, they were not good at handing out my out of towner boxes and there was an issue with them being overbooked and I was not a fan of how they dealt with it.

The wedding was beautiful! Staff was wonderful. However they switched my cordinator and they were kinda on the same page. But i would recommend staying somewhere else! The rooms are were dirty when we showed up and had to call to have them cleaned also we were cramped in the suite with all the girls getting ready. I saw Diana twice and don't ask questions since i guess they are to busy to answer them. We decided to stay an extra night and they booked the hotel to the max and no parking spots were open and all they said was sorry but we have events going on you will just have to drive around to find one. I couldn't belive after all the money i gave them i couldn't park in there lot i had to park across the street and walk. My new husband does events for a living and was very upset with the lack of concern for guests at the hotel. Have the wedding here just don't stay!!!

In the beginning I was wondering if everything was gonna turn out good. Sometimes it was hard to get anyone to call me back unless they needed money. The day of the wedding my view changed. Everything I needed was done above expected. When I needed anything my cordinator was right their making calls for me. The wedding went so smooth, they really know what they are doing there. I would recommend it to anyone.

My wedding ended up gorgeous, which is what I wanted but at the same time I saw my wedding coordinator twice that whole day. I hear that people saw her at our wedding but I did not. Also they took our buffet away within about an hour, I didn't get to eat much because I wasn't hungry right when they started it so I decided to wait, yeah bad choice, 30minutes later when I was hungry, it was already getting taken away. Also the hotel itself mischarged everyones credit cards and put charges on our card that were from other rooms, it took me almost a month to clear all that up. I would say that it is a great place to get married but interview all the coordinators before you choose.

The venue for our wedding was above and beyond expectations. The Imperial ballroom along with the beachside ceremony location was breath-taking. However, the hotel rooms are not recommended. The rooms are small and very out-dated - definitely not up to standard for a "honeymoon suite".

The food was very nice and worth the price paid. The wait staff provided outstanding customer service. The only downfall was that only "us" (bride and groom) were served drinks (bar drinks), the guest and bridal party have to line up to receive their own drinks. Seeing a line forming at the bar can be both an eye sore and distraction to the other activities taking place.

As this is a boutique hotel, their package does not include a complimentary night stay for the bride and groom. As a bride you have to request for a conference room for you and your bridal party to change. This should be a part of the package given by the hotel and not as a favor.

The service we received was great up until the day of the wedding itself. Our coordinator (Liz Smith) who was very polite and helpful on prior meetings, was the complete opposite the day of the wedding. She was rude to the bridal party, and even offended the photographer. As a bride, she did not give me the ease I needed to have prior to the ceremony. She rushed us through our wedding due to the tight turn around between weddings. She did not allow our guest to sit prior to the start of the wedding. Half of the our guest, including the elderly, had to remain standing until the after the bride came out. The hotel and their planners should have cooredinated with us a little better. They did not discuss their coordination plans with the bride.

When we first went to Grand Plaza we were immediately sold! It was beautiful and the wedding coordinator (Liz) seemed to make it her priority to make us happy. She was so awesome with all the planning and almost over-assured us. Then as it came closer to the wedding date I began to feel rushed to make decisions and choices and almost pushed along. Then the day before my wedding there was a huge volley ball tournament being set up at hotels on either side of GP and there were nets EVERYWHERE!!! There was no way I could avoid them, they were on both sides of the hotel. Liz did offer a couple "solutions" to help but the bottom line is that there are volley ball nets in my wedding photos!! She ended up not charging us for chairs on the ceremony site so I guess she tried. Then on the day of the wedding I didnt see her all day. I had expressed my concern for how the wedding would go but she just assured me it would all be okay and taken care of and that's it. When the time came for the ceremony I felt very rushed!! It was hard to take it all in and enjoy it because they practically push you down the aisle. Then for the entrance to the reception she rushed again!! I guess its because thats the part where she disappears.. I had no idea what to do or what happens after I walked in. And even though I expressed to her that I was unsure how things go.. she just pushes you in and walks away! She got our money so she was happy. Overall my wedding was great and the things I didn't like about it probably weren't even noticed by my guests.. but just make sure you have all the plans worked out yourself. Don't rely on anyone else.

We were very fortunate that there was not another evening wedding at the hotel. The evening before there were two weddings there that started within a half hour of the other. The brides were practically bumping into each other. Our reception was in the Imperial Ballroom. When I reserved it, I was told that we would have plenty of time to set up the "extra" things we wanted set up. The room ended up being used until 4pm for other wedding reception. That gave my vendors 1 1/2 to get the room flipped. My mother was the planner and she could not be in the room to make sure everything was set up properly because they were flipping the room during the wedding. The bathrooms for the Imperial Ballroom has an entrance from the deck. The deck was supposed to be completely blocked so that people at the hotel would not be walking through the reception. There were beach goers in and out of there during the reception and is was filthy.

The hotel and staff were great right up to the wedding. The night of the rehearsal they scheduled walk throughs that limited our time. My wedding coordinator disappeared right after the ceremony and was no where to be found. The food was ok but I wouldn't way there normally. The day of the wedding while my cake and other things were set up in the ball room they allowed fists to walk through and brought potential couples in there. The room could use some updating. They pretty much are a wedding factory there. Several of my guests had issues with the hotel over billing their credit card and had issues getting refunded. Wouldn't recommend it if u want a slave to remember

We got married at the Grand Plaza and it was not what it seemed from the numerous meetings we had. It seemed that once we paid it was all over. I do not know who posted all these reviews but while my wedding was taking place there was another Mother of the Bride from the wedding the night before freaking out over their "affair". A wedding is supposed to be the fairy tale that the bride has dreamed about all her life. The value here is pretty good but the rest is awful. Please do not have your wedding ruined as I did and think more carefully about this place! I just want to help someone not have the nightmare I did.

I am a preferred vendor for the Grand Plaza and have worked with them for nearly three years. I will say it is one of the easiest hotels that I work with. They are always set up, on time, and ready to go when we bring our cakes. All the catering staff are warm and friendly as well as the coordinators. I love working with the Grand Plaza!!

The Grand Plaza Resort is a fantastic wedding location. They have beautiful facilities, great beach area, well organized staff and are great to work with. If you're looking for a destination wedding or just a beautiful beach location, this is the place for you.

They provided their services for both the ceremony and reception. Their staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Even with the freezing cold weather, everything went on just as planned. The food is soooo good, The wedding coordinators are the best of the best, they work very hard to make every wedding perfect and they really care about you and your guests. the staff is very friendly all the time! The Grand Plaza Resort is a gorgeous location with incredible views of the Gulf Coast -- perfect for sunset weddings! The staff is very helpful and always attentive to the bride, groom, and their family & friends! The wedding coordinators at The Grand Plaza are F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S! What a great group of women! You feel so at home, relaxed and excited to be there. I will say, this venue is immaculate!! So, clean and very nicely decorated. The view in the Presidental Ballroom is AMAZING! All the special occasion suites are beautiful! If you are on cloud nine because you are getting married, you will be on cloud 10 getting married at The Grand Plaza!

As a professional DJ, my company and I have been working at The Grand Plaza Resort for over 15 years (even before it was the Grand Plaza). This is a great venue to host your event at. A great choice for a Beach Wedding. The top floor reception room view has a view like no where else.

The Grand Plaza is the perfect place to have a beach wedding and reception. They have the perfect location right on the beach with beautiful palm trees and an amazing view of the sunset. They, also, have a great team that will make sure your day is perfect!

We have worked with the wedding coordinators at the Grand Plaza for several years and are always amazed at how well they work together making sure their Brides have a wonderful wedding day. The Resort has more wedding coordinators than any other venue we visit, this translates into wonderful detailed service for their Brides. The two beach ceremony sites are unique with their palm lined entrance and are a joy to enhance with our flowers. Each time we are on site we see the same service personnel and know they do an outstanding job, making every event special. The Grand Plaza has become one of my favorite beach venues. If the beautiful sand, water, and sea oats weren't enough, the surrounding property and the ballrooms are just stunning. On top of all of that, the staff is on point, organized, and just wonderful to work with.

One of the better staffs on St. Pete Beach, the Grand Plaza always goes the extra step to ensure wedding success. To top it off, their North and South beach options are a must-see for any St. Pete beach wedding!

I love photographing weddings at the Grand Plaza Resort. The coordinators do a beautiful job planning their events and are ever so accommodating. There are many photo opportunities both inside and out. I would recommend the Grand Plaza to anyone who is looking to have their event at the beach.

This is my favorite venue and I have photographed more weddings here than anywhere else! It is a photographer's dream and there are panoramic beach views from every ballroom. In fact, this picture was taken there as were many others in my portfolio. The staff is very friendly and accomodating and the food is excellent. What more could you ask for? I have had the opportunity to do several wedding at The Grand Plaza. I love the view from the Presidential Ballroom. The staff and grounds are lovely.
