Greenbrier Catering

Pros: The food was good and they are nice people- but the unresponsiveness and other issues completely outweighed everything else.

Did make meals for the canine guests- which was awesome- but there were onions in it.. (onions can be toxic to dogs, I should have checked that myself.. and I take responsibility for that)

Cons: this was the biggie- the responsiveness in relation to emails, contracts, etc. Took me well over a month to receive a contract, had several emails/phone calls go unanswered until a call was placed to exec chef by my coordinator.
I was told to relax- but as anyone who knows a bride can tell you- when you are planning details, you can't relax until everything is set and signed.

I was told I had to have my head count by a certain date- I had a few relatives who would not know if they were coming until a week before. So I went ahead and added those relatives to the guest count and instructed the caterers to add three more meals and charge me for them. They didn't charge me for them, and didn't even make them! Good thing the guests didn't end up coming.
Planning was so overwhelming that it made it doubly difficult to deal with a caterer who was not responsive.

Champagne was served to three people that I specifically said not to serve. One was a 10 year old boy, one was recovering alcoholic and the other cannot have alcohol for medical reasons. I purchased sparkling cider to be served with the champagne, I brought cider to ceremony and it was not used. Servers were to offer guests an option of champagne or cider. That was not done.
I have emailed them about this and have gotten no response.
Guests were told that the only beverage options were alcohol or water, when in fact I discussed at length with Cynthia about using cynthia's lemonade with fresh mint. I originally wanted punch, but she insisted that her lemonade was amazing- and that was not even offered or brought to reception.
Did not provide a "variety of dinner rolls"- as stated in contract.

Went over the bar list.. was supposed to make strawberry daquari's and a blender was not brought to the site.

Bartender started breaking down the bar an hour before recepton was over. I'm assuming this was at the direction of the caterer

Caterer was responsible for picking up and returning glassware/ dishes.. and I just found out that several items were not returned to the rental facility. Was instructed to get several "salad plates" that ended up not even being used! It was supposed to be 2 courses.. salad first, then meal.. everything was served on one plate.

She was supposed to bring cake samples when she visited us -and she never did -she didn't even save the top of the cake! and the rest of it was in a box that was smashed.
