Truth be told I don't remember how much the Yacht club cost. We had to change our venue 4 weeks until the wedding so it was a little crazy. As for the venue it's awesome!! There is a bridal suite that is upstairs where you can get ready. The place is 2 stories high and the upstairs looks down into downstairs via a "hallway/walkway" that goes around the perimeter of the room. Downstairs there is a room where the dinner and dancing take place, and then there is a second room which has a large bar and a beautiful fireplace - which was on as we got married in December. It's really nice to have only one wedding there at a time as well so you get all the attention to yourself. In addition, it was recently renovated so it looks like new inside with neutral wall colors, and hardwood floors in most of the building. I would definitely recommend this location!!!

GYC coordinates all outside events through Jordan's Caterers (Cheshire, CT). The event coordinator, Marissa, came with glowing reviews and she lived up to the reputation! She is professional, extremely knowledgeable and had great ideas about decorations, vendors, color schemes and menu ideas. The GYC was a great location- we lucked out with a flawless May day so we could enjoy the expansive yard and great view of LI Sound. I only wish we had the date set later in the summer so we could have enjoyed the view for longer. also, the small logistical details are great- plenty of parking, convenient wash rooms, nice bridal suite and I love the second floor that looks out over the dance floor- made for some great photos!
we had so much positive feedback on the venue location, which was nice because a) we got a small discount on the price, maybe due to the economy? and b) other yacht clubs in the area require that you are a member to hold an event at the location. bottom line- we would highly recommend GYC, and Jordans Caterers in particular.
note: we only held the reception here: ceremony was held at our church.
