Harvest Moon catering in Charlottesville provided high quality services at a more reasonable rate than many other Charlottesville caterers that I researched. Harvest Moon was very flexible and willing to work with the menu and budget that we proposed. Their food was delicious and we got many compliments on it. Harvest Moon staff made our every idea come true, and most of the time had suggestions that made the day even better! They thought of and took care of everything, right down to the basket of leftovers for my husband and I to take back to our hotel room that night. We would not change anything about their services. Staff members were always extremely professional and helpful, and did everything possible to make our day perfect. Harvest Moon also strives to use local and organic food, and donates leftovers to community members in need whenever possible. They are a conscientious and responsible organization. I highly recommend this company.
I've not fully booked with Harvest Moon in Northern VA yet (waiting for my mom to give final blessings) but I have to give them great kudos for their professionalism, friendliness, and eagerness to help. Their website (http://www.theharvestmoonrestaurant.com/) gives you an idea of the place, but I encourage you to call or even better visit and talk with them.
I went with my sister and we were surprised to see a fountain as we walked in the door (that wasn't shown in the pictures on the website). We were also greeted by a host in a tuxedo (granted their was probably an event that night, but it shows they are used to holding events and are prepared and experienced with weddings. I have a friend that says her parents are often their attending wedding receptions).
Harvest Moon has two separate reception areas. The larger one has a minimum of 200 guests. Both reception areas have a stage, dance floor, and projection for slides. The large area actually has three projections and 2 large screen TVs! So it seems their are well-equipped for an audio/visual wedding.
When I visited, their menus started at $350 per table (10 per table).
The best part of the visit was the host. He was extremely friendly and helpful. I appreciated him more after visiting another restaurant whose manager was very abrupt and not caring. Where they gave off an image that they had plenty of business and didn't really care that I was interested in booking them for my wedding, Harvest moon treated me like my wedding was a special event and was willing to help me find ways to personalize it.
If they keep this up, I will be writing more positive reviews for Harvest Moon. I gave them only 4 stars because I thought it would be unfair to give them 5 without actually completing the reception.
My wedding is in 2009, so I'll be happy to update later.
