We met Heidi at a wedding show and really liked that she focused on you remembering the moment, not when she was posing you. With a background in photojournalism, she is not a traditional photographer...she is so much more. We sat through a fashion show and then I knew that if we didn't book her, I'd be sorry.
We decided to get our engagement photos with her first because we wanted to get to know her better and get used to the idea of having our pictures taken. She was wonderful and caught some amazing pictures that everyone loved. Later in the summer, we went to her place and recorded an interview for use in a wedding DVD and she was so welcoming and made it easy.
Having just seen our wedding proofs, I can assure you she is amazing. That day, she was all over the place but today I thought, "oh! I didn't know she caught that....or that....or that interaction"...she worked her tail off that day and the pictures show that. She catches people's real reactions and looks and while we had some of the tradional shots, she let us be silly too.
Heidi has a lovely disposition and is extrememely talented. We plan to use her for anniversary pictures and anything else we might need a photographer for. Her prices are reasonable and fair and you will be thrilled with her work!

We chose Heidi from a shortlist of photographers whose work we liked, but when it came time to meet in person, she was easily the most accessible, and the most relaxed, and came with the least schtick and sales pitch. All of our questions got natural, precise answers.

So Heidi it was.

Day-of, she really was perfect, because in all the flurry of getting ready, she was present and active without being noticeable, and interjected much-appreciated "lets get some more pictures of that" and everything would stop, everyone could breath, and we all got to relax for a few seconds.

The pictures are everything they wanted, which was a simple "No kitsch." They're perfect in every way, and exceptionally well-edited. Very journalistic, very much about the story of coming together, and elegant without being blunt.

Not that we'll ever need a wedding photographer, but Heidi would absolutely be out pick. We wanted a photographer, and we got a new friend.

Heidi was exactly what we were looking for: Professional, fun, always on time, and a joy to have as part of our wedding.

Her easy going personality gelled really well for us; we were both entirely comfortable having Heidi be such an intimate part of our wedding. The photos were ready for us very promptly, our families and us were sooo happy with the photos that were taken (they came out fabulously).

I would really encourage people to at least meet with Heidi if you are looking for a wonderful photographer with a great eye for an artistic photo.

I would recommend Heidi's services to anyone looking for a caring, thoughtful, talented photographer to document their special event. My wife and I hired Heidi to capture our wedding weekend images, as we were particularly drawn to her ability to tell stories through her photography. Be sure to ask her about her Love Story! We received our photos about two weeks after the wedding and her work did not disappoint. We have an incredible assortment of beautiful images from our wedding that not only show us what happened, but tell a real story of our event and our love. Heidi was professional, timely, organized and very, very easy to work with even in the heat of the wedding itself. She has a knack of making people feel comfortable who are not normally comfortable in front of a camera (my Dad!) and we will definitely use her services again in the future. Heidi was such a great addition to our wedding day! Every time I thought, "That would make a great pic," I turned around, and there she was! She made us feel like we could just be ourselves which was one of the most important things to us. We loved how are pictures turned out, and are so thankful to have those memories to last! Heidi was just wonderful photographing our wedding! I'm often uncomfortable in front of a camera, so we chose Heidi for her spontaneous style. But with her, I felt relaxed and natural. The pictures turned out just gorgeous and she was a delight to have at our wedding.

I've never seen a wedding photographer that covered the event this well with just a single photographer. Most places make you pay for two people to shoot. You don't need that with Heidi!

We also got our photos from her very soon after the wedding. I've heard that other brides wait many weeks to see their proofs.

Weddings can be wonderfully extravagant, but let's face it - only the ring, the spouse and the photos will still be around 5, 10, 15+ years after the event (if you're lucky). If you choose Heidi Hoffman, you can scratch photographs off that list and focus on the other two, because she is a rare combination of skill and professionalism with a personable touch that made it an absolute pleasure to work with her. Leading up to the wedding, Heidi was great to work with and always flexible with our every-changing hectic schedule. On the day of the event, she was everywhere at once - but so unobtrusive that I had so many guests wonder if I had even hired a photographer. Her group and family photos were quick and efficient - and spectacular. It took her several seconds to take shots that I've seen other photographers take over and over and over... Heidi's photo-journalistic style of taking wedding pictures meant that every moment of joy, excitement and happiness was captured in a beautiful candid fashion that means my wife and I can relive our great day time and again. My wife and I were so pleased with Heidi's work that we would recommend her services as a photographer to anyone. Hands down, she was the best vendor at our wedding and the greatest value.

I couldn't have asked for a better photographer and photography experience. Heidi's eye for taking superb photos is flawless! She is professional, sweet, punctual, quick to respond, and a brilliant artist. Heidi and her team were wonderful and incredibly accommodating! She made us feel comfortable and appreciated. I think I even saw her tear up once or twice. :) She and Joe were very genuine and sweet to work with, oh and they take amazing pictures too!

Heidi Hoffman was a fantastic photographer to work with because she was easy to work with and also provided great ideas for shots. She is very responsive and will call/email/text to follow up on things that you are wondering about. The products that she provides are personalized and professional (for example, I was very surprised to find in our DVD package that Heidi had included a personalized note that summarized her experience with us and information about other services that she provides). Finally on the photography, we're just a normal looking couple and she made us look amazing, which I think is a good litmus test to know that you have a good photographer!

I love Heidi! I could go on and on about how talented she is, but really, her photography speaks for itself. She is so personable, easy to work with, flexible and kind. I knew I wanted to work with her for our wedding long before we ran into her at the Salem Bridal Show. I had seen a lot of her work through the weddings of mutual friends in addition to her online portfolio and her photojournalistic style was exactly what my husband and I were looking for. She gets to know her couples and is able to capture and translate that into the most amazing set of engagement and wedding photographs. I will treasure these photos forever and will always go back to her for any major life event that needs a good set of pictures to go along with it :)

I am MORE than happy to write this review about Heidi Hoffman. Her photos from our wedding day were none other than magical. She is very talented, and the utmost of professional. She was always available when we had questions, meeting us in person, and speaking with me over the phone and via email. Her style is to "capture moments" and we have had nothing but incredible comments from our friends and family about our photos. I have often joked with her that my husband and I will be so lucky becasue we will be able to say that "we knew her when..." Her photography was a lucky find for us, and she deserves to be well known for her wedding photography. Her contribution to our special day will be forever cherished.

Heidi was a wonderful photographer for our wedding. Leading up to the wedding, she answered all of our questions promptly, and was very professional throughout the process. At the wedding, she seemed so happy to be there and did a great job capturing the emotion of the day. One thing she does that seemed unique when we were looking for photographers is the Love Story DVD- we highly recommend it. This is a slideshow of wedding pictures with us talking in the background (about how we met, what we are excited about in marriage, etc). We love this, and think it will be a wonderful memory in the many years to come. We definitely would recommend Heidi as a wedding photographer!

Heidi took the photos for both my outdoor rehearsal dinner and outdoor wedding at Black Butte Ranch in Central Oregon. Neither of which were easy venues to photograph in given the changing light and weather. Heidi's photography at our wedding was exceptional! Her photojournalistic eye led her to notice to notice and capture so many moments that would likely have been missed or forgotten otherwise. At the wedding itself, we were incredibly impressed with how discreet and non-invasive she was, even while taking close-up shots of the ceremony. She was lovely to work with, a steal for the price she charges, and we couldn't be happier with the photos she took.

Heidi was so sweet and easy to work with. When I first met her at a wedding showcase, her smile and personality instantly attracted me to her without ever seeing her work. I knew she would be somebody I would want around me on my wedding day.
I appreciated your approach to photography, aiming to tell the story of our day. She captured great action and candid shots. I was hoping for some better quality still shots of family portraits on the wedding day - but all other shots were fantastic! She captured the emotions of the day perfectly. Would definitely recommend for those who appreciate the photojournalism perspective!

I really wanted two photographers, so Heidi found a colleague to be my 2nd photographer.
As we lived out of state, she worked with us to schedule the love story interviews at our convenience.
We received our final pictures/ love story only 2 months after our wedding, well in advance of some of my friend's wedding photographers.
I am very pleased with the quality of our pictures, she captured many moments beautifully.
The only thing I would suggest is, if there is a certain picture or angle you desire, make sure you tell her.

Heidi Hoffman Photography is amazing!! I love that Heidi's background is in photojournalism, she has such an amazing eye for detail and ability to capture faces the moment they happen, which was really important to us! She was so open to our ideas and what we wanted out of our pictures, but also had really fun suggestions for pictures that turned out great! The Love Story DVD that she offers is so unique and special. I love having those thoughts recorded from my fiance and myself to remind us of when we were engaged. We are so grateful to have such amazing memories in picture form!

Heidi was our photographer at our wedding, and she was a great find! She was flexible with our contract, and was willing to give us exactly what we wanted and not pigeonhole us into a "wedding package" like some of the other photographers we talked with. On the day of the wedding she was prompt and professional, and managed to get great shots without being obtrusive, and I was able to focus on my friends and family. She was also flexible about which family portraits we wanted, and took some more informal portraits after the ceremony on a spur-of-the-moment request. I am very happy with the way the photos turned out. She took to heart what my husband and I wanted in terms of style and feel, and the pictures turned out wonderfully.

I think that the price was a little bit steep, and we didn't get as many photographs as I was expecting. That having been said, the quality of service was terrific and if I had to do it over, I would hire Heidi again.

My fiance and I were looking for two things in a photographer: experience with weddings and an ability to take candid photos. Heidi Hoffman was just such a photographer. More than that, she invested a great deal of time talking on the phone, emailing, and meeting with me to make sure that my engagement and wedding photos were exactly what we wanted. By the time my wedding rolled around, I knew that Heidi could capture all of the moments I wanted without having to "hold her hand". I have to admit that certain members of my family balked at Heidi's fees. These same family members congratulated me on my wise choice after seeing the Montage DVD and all of the beautiful photos. I'll be able to relive my wedding in vivid detail because of the thorough, artistic way she documented our wedding. I would recommend Heidi Hoffman without reservation. She's worth the investment!

Heidi is so much fun to work with! She has an incredibly capable eye and is able to catch those moments you want captured. She is non-intrusive and fun to be around, making for an enjoyable event!
