These people were good at one thing, getting me my dress! I had to search around multiple vendors to find the exact wedding dress I wanted. But after that they treated me like I was an idiot and absolutely sucked at alterations! I ordered a dress that was a size 2 and needed a size 0. When they altered it, I couldn't even slide it over my hips! They also were very negative when I asked them to make the fit more of a trumpet than a mermaid. They at first refused to do it! Also my bustle kept falling out all night so I didn't get to talk to my guests or dance as much as I wanted. I would recommend getting my dress from here, and then run far away to another seamstress, like the one on 76th and Rawson! Brides, remember to walk around with your bustle up before the wedding!

I loved my dress and got a great price. The only complaint that I had is I made a final appointment to try my dress on and they were going to show me and my bridesmaid how to bustle the dress; when we showed up to our appointment the dress was not done and they said they forgot that it needed to be done so I had to make another appointment.

AWFUL I bought the dress from the old owner. All the employees are the same. They all failed to tell me someone new owned it. The owner alterations ruined my dress she put the hooks for my bustle on the outside in a very visible color. After I stood there and cried trying to explain to her one side of my dress was longer than the other and that the bustle goes under the dress she told me my only option was to pay her the balance left which was $95.00. Then she walked to the counter and screamed no discount. I asked her can she add beading or do anything to make it better she told me no all she could do would take it off and it would look worst. These were the owner words. Contact six would not help me because they said she offered to fix it. Like I said to them she butchered the dress once and was very mean to me there was no way I was going to leave my dress. Very Mean, Very Rude, and She will not help you once she screws up your alterations.

I loved the dress that I bought here! However, there were a few drawbacks. Everyone was very helpful when I was coming in to buy the dress, after we bought the dress, the customer service became less important to them. If I had to do it again, I may not have chosen this place, but for the fact that they carried the line of wedding dresses I wanted!

Brides beware!!! This place is under new ownership since August 2009. It was the worst experience ever! Not only was my dress ruined in alterations, but they refused to work with me on exchanging it, and they were the ones to blame! The place is way overpriced! I ended up having to buy a new wedding dress 2 weeks before my wedding! Stay away!

They were not best at listening what was needed to be done on my dress since I have a very short torso. So because of their lack of listening skills by dress zipper broke at the reception and some of my newly cousins safety pinned the whole back of my dress. Man was I mad. But I still had a great time and nobody noticed except those who helped me.

Heims bridal was great. The prices were great and the service was too.. The alterations were not that pricey and the dress looked perfect.
They were honest with the sizing, which you really have to be careful with. I wish I would of went there for all my bridesmaid dresses too.

They were not as well known but so easy to work with. I just always hate how much alterations cost for the bridesmaids and if you can find a way for it to fit the better.

I knew the dress that I wanted. I saw on “What Not To Wear”, the Bridal Special, the advice that they gave to brides who are shorter and with more curves. I also had a few magazine clip outs of the dress style I wanted, which is helpful because then the salesclerk, who knows the stock best, can pull out a few dresses that they don’t necessarily show in one of the catalogues. That is actually my biggest suggestion to girls who are going wedding dress shopping: do not show up without an idea of what kind of dress you want. You should already have an idea of what looks good on your body. I was watching other brides struggling to make a decision after they tried on thirty different styles of dresses. The staff at Heim’s is great because they want you to be happy with the dress you choose, but they’re not going to make the decision for you. I loved everyone there who helped me find and pick out my dress, and how they helped me understand what my dress would look like after the alterations.


The store takes care of all the alteration, which is great because the salesperson can give you an accurate quote on how long it will take to take in/out a dress. I really liked the staff at Heim’s because they made sure I was aware of what I would lose with certain models of dresses with the hemming, and which dresses work best with smaller people.

Heim's Bridal was a very pleasant surprise to me. I wasn't sure what I would be able to find when I went shopping there, but they had the dress I had been eyeing and I was able to try it on in a very large size (I wear a size 4 and this was a size 16!), just to get an idea of what it would look like on me. I'll admit it was very difficult for me to exactly envision how the final product would look on me since I was almost swimming in the dress, so if you're looking for a place where you can try on your exact size, you'll probably have to check elsewhere.

However, if there is a specific, hard-to-find dress you have in mind and Heim's is able to order it, you've come to the right place. They were very helpful and accurate in taking measurements, and when my dress arrived it fit beautifully. They were even able to order it so that it was custom hemmed for my short stature. I was very pleased with their professionalism and the friendly staff on site.

My only complaint was that they would not allow me to take any photos of myself in the dress (the really huge dress!) until I had committed to purchasing a dress from them. I'm not sure why they have that policy; it frustrated me since I was trying to make comparisons between different styles. So if that policy is an issue, you may be best shopping elsewhere.

Overall though, it's a great little store and has a lot to offer with its ability to order unique styles that are custom-fit. I totally recommend it.
