FAQ for High Plains Studios LLC
Additional Advice
Q:This photographer quoted us a price of $x. Can you match or beat it?A:Probably not. Our prices include image retouching, and we usually have thousands of images to work through after your wedding. That means that we will spend a full week working with what we have, and that time is included in our quote. Retouching is usually not included in "lowball" bids, and we do not want to give you images that are less than perfect.Q:I want to book you for 1-2 hours. Is this OK?A: We usually don’t reccomend less than four hours of coverage, but we can work with your timeframe. Most Brides and Grooms have a list of people and poses that they "must have," and those shots take some time to get. We can schedule less time, but please keep in mind the limitations with such a time frame.Q:Do you offer fine art prints, or just glossy ones? A: We can offer platinum and gold fine art printsQ:How big can you print?A: Unlike some studios, we shoot in a "full frame," which means that we can usually print images over six feet by six feet with no distortion or loss of quality. We can go as big as you want. Why use High Plains Studios? Before I was a photographer, I was a newlywed about to marry my best friend. Brian, my husband, was about to return to active duty, and the odds of him going to Iraq were quite high. We cut corners and used a friend of the family, a woman with a high end camera that was in our price range, and we got what we paid for.Now that I have a full studio of equipment and enough computer power to launch my own space shuttle, I still cannot make those terrible photos any better. They are what they are, and no one likes looking at the pictures because they just look bad. We do not display the photos in our home, and our wedding day is long gone. We can't have a "do-over," we cannot fix the pictures, we're stuck with them. I'm sure you have heard similar stories, and so have we! This person was hired from Craigslist, or that "photographer," a friend of the family took our wedding pictures. That Craigslist guy, or Uncle Jim, or my cousin's friend wasn't qualified or trained to take pictures of anything, and the wedding pictures were ruined. In wedding photography, there are no "do-overs," and no one wants a wedding album full of pictures of the wedding party sqinting at the sun. Don't cut corners on a once-in-a-lifetime event because you think you can't afford a real wedding photographer or because you want to save money on a once-in-a-lifetime event. High Plains Studios can and has worked with every financial situation, and we can meet any and all budgets. We will do what it takes to make your wedding pictures perfect, and we will do what it takes so that your wedding is properly photographed!
