Hilton Garden Inn Kitty Hawk

The Hilton Garden Inn's Kitty Hawk Pier is one of the most beautiful wedding sites I have ever seen, and my new husband and I are still so happy we were able to host our wedding reception there. Miha from the Hilton Garden Inn staff was so wonderful to work with from the start. She provided a list of questions I would eventually need to answer, which helped organize my planning. She was also incredibly responsive via email (I planned from afar), even when she went on a way-too-short maternity leave just weeks before my wedding! She was there on the wedding day, and was always so happy to meet with our very excited parents, often in a big group of 5-10 people. The venue itself is so flexible. Almost every question I asked had the answer "it's whatever you want to do." I couldn't believe how many options we had, and the entire thing was exactly how we envisioned it. One tip: use the decoration supplies they have--they're so nice and included! Charles, who managed the catering during the reception, was also wonderful. He checked in with me several times, and packaged up the couple of leftover meals and appetizers for us to take back after the reception was over--and we definitely appreciated it! I would highly recommend this venue for ambiance, location, fantastic food (seriously, fantastic wedding food), and excellent staff. Thank you Hilton Garden Inn!

The Hilton Garden Inn at Kitty Hawk was a perfect venue to work with. The facility was beautiful and the staff was great. When we started planning our wedding we wanted something at the beach and the Outer Banks is absolutely gorgeous which didn't give us much flexiblitiy on dates but if you choose to have a long engagement this venue is a great options. The food was to die for and was able to edit the menu up to three days before the event. The Hilton does something at the end of the reception that is special for each and every couple that uses them. We can't thank them enough for the incredible service they provided us.

Hilton Garden Inn's Kitty Hawk Pier is a stunning venue, classy and elegant, but also with a laid back atmosphere that comes with being right on the beach. The drama of the venue - standing over the ocean is what grabbed me. Miha was a fabulously professional and helpful wedding coordinator. Thanks Miha for everything!

The Pier House is such a unique venue and it is an awesome spot to gather family and friends to celebrate your wedding! We liked the convenience of having the hotel in walking distance and having the ceremony and reception in one location – no need to worry about a shuttle/transportation. Some of our family wanted to stay a whole week and found beach houses just south of the HGI and these were still in walking distance to the Pier House.
Being from out of state, we made a few trips to Kitty Hawk for wedding planning and everyone was always very helpful and accommodating. Miha is awesome and she helped with all of our questions and she was always very professional and quick to respond. She was out on maternity leave :) the weekend of our wedding and Melinda and her staff helped to execute everything - it was such a smooth transition!
We had planned to get married on the beach but Mother Nature had her own plan for the day which included rain – a whole lot of rain! The rain stopped just in time for everyone to get into the Pier House and we even could get pictures outside after the ceremony! It was an amazing day! Melinda and her staff worked quickly to set-up everything for an inside ceremony and everything went so smoothly. Charles worked with our Photographer to really keep things moving throughout the night and really made sure we were happy with everything. It was an amazing day to remember!

The Hilton Garden Inn was the perfect location for a beach wedding. We had our ceremony right next to the Pier and it was perfect. We rented the Pier House for our reception and it was absolutely beautiful to look out over the ocean. What is cooler than partying it up on a pier?!! Not only is the location gorgeous, but the staff was unbelievable. Robin Rector is the hotel wedding planner and she was PHENOMENAL!!!! She not only put up with my millions of emails prior to the wedding but she did so with a smile on her face. And she never once made me feel annoying or a pain!! I can honestly say that because of Robin, my wedding day was a fairy tale. My mom and husband were in love with her too!! Her fun loving and energetic personality is contagious. She took care of so many small details for me and made me feel at ease about everything. Our bartender was also amazing and he definitely made sure the bride was taken care of (with my blue moons!). The food was also fantastic! I am so happy I chose the Hilton Garden Inn and I would without hesitation recommend it to anyone!!

We had our wedding reception at the Hilton Garden Inn Pier house in June 2012. Miha and her staff at the Hilton were incredible. She was very responsive to emails and helped answer questions all throughout our 1.5-year planning process. We planned this wedding from Ohio and Miha made the destination wedding planning process as smooth as it could have been. The Hilton was very accommodating and allowed us to truly customize a dream wedding that fit our personalities. The entire Hotel staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout the weekend.

The Hilton staff works wonders! Miha and Charles are great! Miha was such a pleasure to work with throughout the planning process! She even ran our rehearsal! We had weather/wind issues, but they worked fast to quickly get the pierhouse ready and it looked beautiful! Such a beautiful venue. The food is amazing too!

Our ceremony was held on the beach in front of the Hilton and our reception was held in the Pier House. We were originally working with Emily but she moved. We were transferred to Miha and she picked up where Emily left off and knew all of our details. It was like we had been working with her from day one. Miha was extremely helpful throughout the planning process and quick to respond to all of my questions. The staff at the reception also did a great job - I always had a full drink! The Pier House was absolutely beautiful - we were able to enjoy the ocean views and sunset. We actually have a friend that is getting married there next year because she loved the venue so much after attending our wedding! We were happy with our experience at the Hilton Garden Inn.

We were very pleased with the Pier House for our reception site. It is a great location and everyone we worked with was so nice and helpful. The room is great, the food was delicious and the view is beautiful. Miha is great; she made everything so much easier for us and less stressful.

The hotel and location was very nice, though overpriced. They could be more accommodating with changed travel plans since they would have no trouble renting out rooms.

We had our wedding and reception at the Hilton Garden Inn. We worked with Robin Rector who became my best friend! She was wonderful! She made the planning as pain free as possible, and was so easy to work with. She took a lot of the worries away for me. Everyone was great from Robin to the staff in getting everything accomplished. They were very flexible even when the weather didn't cooperate, and had to change a few things around at the last minute. They were so professional about it, and didn't miss a beat. The reception was fanatastic from the service, servers, and the bartender. My guests were extremely happy which makes me extremely happy! I would recommend them very highly for any venue!

We fell in love with the Kitty Hawk Pier House that the Hilton Garden owns and we knew it would be the perfect spot for our beach wedding. The Hilton Garden Inn is a beautiful hotel located right on the beach. Miha is the women in charge of coordinating weddings there and she is great. She was always in contact with me through email and phone. She listened to all of my requsts and made sure that they happened. She plans these weddings in her sleep so she knew excatly what she was doing. She helped me with a timeline for my wedding so that everything ran smoothly and I didnt have to worry about anything. She called me the next day to make sure everything went the way I wanted too and to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. The Hilton was great!

I agree with the other reviews - this place is PERFECT!! Emily was our coordinator & from the inital contact to the day of, everything went so smoothly. Emily is super quick at responding to emails & answers all of your questions & is so nice. The pier house is beautiful - it really doesn't even need any decorations. The staff was wonderful & even closed down the pier for our ceremony since the tide was too high to have to on the beach! I could really go on & on forever about how great everyone was, but I'll just end it here so I'm not rambling - I don't even have one small complaint about anything, and honestly I don't think I've heard many brides say that. BOOKTHEM!!! :-)

We were married here in May at the Pier House behind the hotel.

The first person I need to thank is Miha Slegel. She was the wedding corrdinator at the hotel who helped us set up and then have our wedding. She was amazing! She was professional, friendly and most important, reliable. Miha ALWAYS got back to us right away and ALWAYS solved any problem we had. She MADE our wedding what it was!

The hotel is wonderful, it has indoor and outdoor pools (including hot tub), a nice outside seating area, a restaurant in the lobby with bar, the beach right out back, free coffee and water in the seating area in the lobby, fishing out back on the pier. Great place for guests to stay!

The Pier House is amazing and unique. It is a reception hall on the pier behind the hotel and it was a gorgeous place to get married, with the ocean on all sides. All things considered, ti actually was not over priced.

Overall, Miha and this hotel were a dream wedding for us!

Nothing I would change about my reception in the pier house. Absolutely beautiful! Miha and her staff are so experienced and so willing to accomodate different ideas. Planning the reception could not have gone smoother. All of my guest just loved partying in a pier house. Thank you so much!

Where do I even begin? This place IS PERFECT! We had a rough start as they somehow didn't get my name down on the day that I wanted and it ended up getting given to someone else, but they did nothing short of make up for it from then on. Miha was such a pleasure! She is quite the asset to the Hilton. All the hotel staff was superb. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. They all knew I was the bride of the weekend and completely went out of their way to help in any way they possibly could (which I'm positive they would have done even if I wasn't the bride of the weekend). They didn't at all seem to be bothered by the drunken groomsmen and cousins hanging out in the lobby after the reception either. We had our ceremony on the pier and our reception in the pier house. The pier house is absolutely beautiful! The food was outstanding. We heard nothing but positive reviews from all of our guests. They were astounded at the beauty of the place, the attentiveness of the staff, and how wonderful the food was. There was nothing scheduled in the pier house the day prior or in the morning on the day of (I had an afternoon wedding and evening reception) so Miha and Adam were gracious enough to allow us to start setting up on the day prior! This made such a huge difference in how relaxing my day of was! Everyone was so helpful with everything from chair sashes to sprinkling rose petals and making sure the gift table was exactly where I wanted it. Miha was so prompt at returning e-mails and even came in on Sunday morning at a convenient time for me to make sure everything went perfectly throughout the reception. But, with Charles in Charge (haha - used to be a show), how couldn't it have been perfect? He was all over everything! He made sure that my husband and I were served our appetizers and dinner promptly and whenever WE were ready for them, had the champagne toast ready when WE were ready, cut the cake for us and had it butlered. Everything was smooth and PERFECT! And when I turned around to gather up the groomsmen to have them round up everything from the ceremony, I realized that they even were kind enough to stack our chairs and decorations from the ceremony for us! Anyone who has done any research with this Hilton for their wedding knows that the Hilton has nothing to do with your actual ceremony - just the reception. This was such an above and beyond thing for them to do for us! We were treated with such respect throughout the whole entire weekend. Miha was kind enough to make sure we were already placed in our proper rooms (one night was paid for by the hotel, the other nights we booked online). She made sure we didn't have to change rooms and that was such a blessing! I couldn't have asked for a more amazing wedding venue! Miha, Adam, and Charles - as well as everyone in their team - did such a great job helping us have the most perfect wedding and reception possible. I HIGHLY recommend using them - they are definitely professionals and it shows!

We got married at the pier house and it was really beautiful. They helped me plan every detail. The food was really good too. It was a really romantic and could have taken place a better location. The price was a little more then we wanted to spend HOWEVER everything on the beach is more expensive. I had a little trouble getting someone to call me back. These are tiny little issues that really weren't that big of a deal. Over all the experience was amazing and If I had to do it over I wouldn't change a thing. I would tell anyone to use them for their wedding.

If you are thinking about having your wedding or reception at Hilton Garden Inn in Kitty Hawk...DO IT!! I had my wedding there in June 2010 and could not have had a better experience. The entire staff to HGI was incredibly kind to us and all of our guests...so many of our family & friends are going back next year for vacation because they were so impressed! Miha the wedding coordinator is absolutely amazing. She and her team (shout out to Adam the banquet manager) were the best group of people I could have ever asked to work with on the biggest day of my life. I can't express how happy my husband and I were with our experience or how much we recommend the HGI in Kitty Hawk :)

The pier is beautiful and because of that I was willing to let a lot slide from the staff. My coordinator was very absent minded and couldn't remember anything from one day to the next. I had to keep perfect records of everything we went over otherwise she would have been bating and switching me every time we talked. The tablecloths where not pressed as promised and they looked horrible. My mom had to make sure everything was set up properly and she has to redo most of the room, otherwise the table seating would have been all over the place. The only person that I felt was willing to do their job was the bar tender. The rest of the staff stood outside and smoked the whole night. I was very disappointed in them.

Having my wedding at the Hilton Kitty Hawk was one of the best choices. The pier was PERFECT for our wedding day and the pier house was AMAZING for the reception. Overlooking the ocean during dinner was exactly what I was looking for. The staff are really wonderful, the food fantastic and the service great!
