Hilton Lincoln Centre
Great place to have both your ceremony and reception. Ease for our in-town guests and located near great shopping and eating for out-of-town guests. The staff treated everyone with special attention as if this was their own wedding.
We booked Atrium 2; the most beautiful room with character we could find. Everything went smoothly until the actual wedding reception took place. The head coordinator passed us off to a Spanish speaking "captain" on his first day! We were rushed from arrival into a room not bigger than a bedroom with a table and 2 chairs in it. We were given a few of our appetizers that our guests were given and a drink order was taken. I was bustled by my bridesmaids and my petticoat was given to the "captain" to put in my room, never got that back. The seating chart and place cards I made was a waste of time. Not only were people at the wrong tables, the tables had husbands and wifes not sitting together. Oddly we were introduced thru the side door and made our way thru the table maze to the dance floor. The bars were good. The food service was awful and slow, they allowed each person to change their mind on the chicken or beef. The salads were brought missing the Brie encrust (best part), the parents table was served LAST, so the meals our parents had chosen were already taken by other tables and they refused to serve our parents and grandparents the filets they originally ordered. My husband had to go find the coordinator and complain, they finally brought out their food 45 minutes after service began. This threw off the entire reception timeline. My photographer had to step in and take control to make sure all things got done, including father/bride dance. She also had to step in to instruct us on how to cut our cakes, when and how bouquet and garter toss takes place, when our toats should take place, etcetera.. The commped Honeymoon suite was pretty but the AC did not work. We were in the room for 5 minutes when the room service called telling us they had something for us. 20 minutes later they show up with the Champagne and strawberries our friends ordered at 2pm.
The hotel is pretty, the room block was completely worth it, and the reception room was great. I would only recommend the Hilton to a Bride that has a wedding planner or things will not get done.
Brenda Johnson is the best gift a bride could ask for. She's top notch professional and works with whatever budget you have. She also gave me great recommendations for other quality vendors.
It took a while for the caterer to finally realize that my wedding was coming up. It took a few rude messages to have her figure out that I am a bride to. But she finally got on the ball and made my wedding the best it could be!
