Hilton Milwaukee City Center

I was a little disappointed that they had me sign a contract for a certain amount for my hotel block and then sell the rooms for about 40% less. Is that crazy or what. So my guests were calling me telling me that they did not book under our wedding block because of the cost difference. However, the staff did not hold us to our contract because of the price difference. I did have guest complain how the rooms were not as clean as you would think a Hilton would be.

The Hilton was Beautiful and highly recommended. We had our reception in the crystal ballroom, which really impressed our guests. The catering staff were great. It was a little difficult during the planning process to get on the same level as the event planner, but the night of the wedding turned out flawless.

The hall is gorgeous and the Hotel is amazing, I would not give up having my wedding there for anything. Unfortunately, the wedding coordinators are not that great. Planning a wedding is a stressful time and a bride can lose her cool sometimes. It's the coordinators job to stay calm and on top of things but sometimes when times got rough, so did the coordinator. That made things incredibly difficult. For the price we paid, I expected more professional service. The service staff was great though, they seemed more professional than the event coordinator.

This is a beautiful venue for a wedding. The main room is stunning, and it looked amazing once we had all of our fresh bouquets set up. There are many different set up options, but we choose to have a smaller wedding party table-we were offered the option of having a 16 person head table. Tables can fit between 8-10 people, there is a cake table that can be set up, and also there is lots of room for mingling inside and outside the main room. The hotel is also beautiful, and it felt so special arriving their in our limos after the wedding ceremony. The whole wedding planning staff was amazing to work with, and they were there to organize the set-up of the room, and the placement of the flowers, while we were at the church.

Guests had the option of staying here. We booked out 50 rooms, without a fee, and guests had a certain amount of time to reserve their room. Even if they missed the deadline for booking, it wasn’t that big of a deal because there were other hotels in the area. The room was expensive, but I think many guests choose it for convenience. It was better to stay on site.

The Hilton will include a free room for the bride and groom on the night of their wedding when they buy the wedding package deal. I though this was great, because we would have needed a room, and I think it’s a nice wedding present on the part of the hotel. I was running on pure adrenaline for the last two hours of the party, and we both fell asleep as soon as we walked in the room. The room was beautiful, we had a great view, and we also received a bottle of champagne. My sister also made us a nice wedding night gift basket for us, which included sandwiches and chocolates and fruit and bottles of water.

We drove immediately to Milwaukee after the ceremony. We were upgraded to the Plaza Suite with one and a half bathrooms. We had a king size bed, three televisions, a mini-bar, a conference room with projector as well as a Jacuzzi and living room. It was also very nice that there was a refrigerator and microwave so we could eat in the room. The living room was a pleasant place to open wedding presents and cards. The hotel also provided us with free chilled champagne. The view and location was unforgettable.

Everyone there was very friendly and professional. I highly recommend that you have your reception there. Out of the whole night only two things happen that I wasn't happy about. The first was that they brought the late night snacks in at 11:30 (they were suppose to be out till 12:00). However, after I spoke with them they brought them back out. Basically I think they were just trying to pack up early. The second thing that happened was that they gave our wedding suite away by accident. They had a room for us but it wasn't the suite we had reserved. I wasn't too happy about that, but luckily we had a place to sleep. And they gave us another night stay for free because of it, so we are going to go back and celebrate our 1 year anniversary there. Besides those two things, everything was perfect! :)

Beautiful rooms-- but unfortunately, terrible service. I was passed around to three different wedding coordinators. I was a young bride and felt they didn't take my wedding seriously. They rarely returned my phone calls-- so in the end, all communication went through my husband. For the price you pay--service should be exceptional.
