Hilton Philadelphia City Ave

We had our wedding at the Hilton on Citly Line Avenue just a couple weeks ago and it was absolutely beautiful! Randy Schaller was wonderful to work with and made every step of the process so easy and was always very accomodating. Any question I had was answered and he was always very promt in responding to emails and questions about planning. The service was impecable! Everyone since the wedding has commented on how amazing the service was that night! We could not have picked a better venue!

Randy Schaller was the reason we ended up having it here :-) Not only did he make available additional cocktail hour space for our wedding, he was flexible in helping us lay out our floor plan the way we wanted to. He was completely approachable, professional and won over both of our sets of parents when we visited multiple times to see the event space..Most people may overlook the event space because it's not downtown, but because of it's proximity to the waterfront and the city skyline we were able to get our pictures on the waterfront right at dusk and make it back on time to our reception... Overall, we had a wonderful time and this venue will always be special to us because we had such joyful memories there :-)

We had our wedding reception at The Hilton on City Avenue at the end of June and it was a phenomenal and elegant event. The ballroom was beautiful, the staff was professional and accomodating, the food was plentiful and delicious. The dance floor was large! It was the perfect evening and our guests raved about the entire night from cocktail hour through to the end of the evening. Every aspect was perfect. Thank you Randy Schaller!!!

Hilton City Ave was wonderful to work with! We received compliments on the food and the room months after our wedding!! Everything they did was over the top and constantly wowed our guests! I recommend them to everyone I talk to! Randy at the Hilton was awesome to work with. Can't recommend a better place to have any larger event!

I could not have asked for a better venue for my wedding. Unlike other places the Hilton on cityline is more upscale so I knew when I booked for my event that it was definitely going to be pricey. However, my husband and I had spent two years saving up for our wedding and it made the process much easier. Randy was quick to answer any questions that we had and also made time to call and check up on us. We also spent months writing out our agenda so that we knew exactly what we wanted. Randy was very receptive and made sure that everything we agreed upon in the contract was carried out to the fullest. The food was amazing and the band we hired as well as the photographers were all happy with the service provided by the staff members at the facility.
Our guests were very pleased with the service and we've received many compliments on what a wonderful experienced they had at our wedding. We are equally content with the service provided to us and we know that other couple have and will continue to experience what is the happiest day of their lives at this Hilton

I wouldnt reccomend this vendor to an enemy. This was the most important day of my life and the wedding planner ruined it, his name is Randy Schaller, after he took our deposit we couldnt get any return calls, or emails. He was terrible, rude, arrogant and ignorant to top it all off. He sent us to choose our wedding cake.. FINALLY and then had the wrong one delivered the day of our wedding! He was too busy flirting with a guy on his staff to make sure things were going as they should have been so much of the food was wrong, everything was running behind so a lot of food was cold. He stuck us in a very unpleasant room even though we requested one with a view of the water. If I could do it all over I would NOT have my wedding here. It is far to important a day and far to much money to have to deal with such incompetance. They didnt even hand out the bags we had at the front desk for guests checking in with water a note asking to join us at breakfast the next morning etc, not one guest got them, Randy must have taken them home! WORST WEDDING VENUE EVER

Our wedding cake turned out really good but Randy didn't even tell us that we had to order it, so we ended up having to order it from another bakery that wasn't our first choice. He also didn't discuss it with us, telling us that no matter what, the bakery wouldn't listen anyway. The cake was included in our package. We asked for substitutions for the cake since it wasn't so important to us, but none could really be made.

The food ended up being excellent at our wedding, but it was a fight not to have salmon. My mom was adamant about not having salmon since it's a mundane fish, and wanted something more exotic (and expensive) like Red Snapper. We ended up having tuna, but it was cooked excellently. Everyone complimented the food. We had been to other weddings there when the food was not so good, so we were nervous, but Randy assured us that it was to the bride and groom's specifications, and he was right.

Randy was a little difficult to work with because, while he did make time for us whenever we asked, he was always extremely busy and edgy. While extraordinarily courteous (excuse my back, excuse my pointing), his edginess was often very unpleasant to work with. He seemed fake, because he said things like that it was our day, but didn't seem excited or willing to accommodate requests, especially after we had signed the contract.

Little things that should not have been a problem at all, became a huge problem. For example, we had a disaster a couple of months before the wedding where we were told that guests were calling and not able to reserve under the group reservation, and without a discount. After a lot of firm conversations, we were told to tell all of our guests (after invitations had been sent out) that they should call and ask for Randy himself. It ended up being alright, but the whole thing was ridiculous. He told us he didn't realize that hotel reservations were important to us, when we had specifically discussed this numerous times prior, and were having our wedding at the hotel so our multiple overseas guests would be more comfortable.

Randy delivered in the end, for the most part, and we were extremely happy with our wedding. He asked me right before the ceremony the order of people walking down and who would be under our chuppah, and that got messed up. Luckily, I couldn't care less because I had the time of my life, and nothing catastrophic happened, these were just details that I imagine are hard to get perfectly.

Overall, we were happy with our choice. We selected the Hilton because it had a pretty hall, one that could accommodate a lot of guests, and the package offered less hassle with perhaps a better value. I think if we had to again, we would go with them again, but definitely write EVERYTHING in the contract, (which we were strict about, but maybe not strict enough), and also just to be aware of Randy's flaws, which were quite stressful at times.
