Historic Kent Manor Inn
We had a wonderful experience using the Historic Kent Manor Inn for our wedding reception! The staff was so helpful and knowledgeable. They were always friendly and happy to answer questions. The venue is absolutely beautiful! It was decorated for Christmas and looks amazing in photographs. Our guests commented on what a beautiful setting we had. We all loved the intimate setting of the round room and the openness with all the windows. The food was delicious; the cocktail hour food display was amazing. During the wedding, the wait staff was extremely attentive to my elderly grandparents and even brought them appetizers, so they did not have to get up. Working with Ashley and Danielle was a great experience! I highly recommend this venue for a wedding!
We really loved Kent Manor Inn for our wedding this past weekend. The location was beautiful, and our split entree (crab stuffed shrimp & chicken) was loved by our guests and ourselves. We had to change the ceremony to inside on the day of as a result of high winds, and Danielle did a great job reassuring me and the ceremony ended up being beautiful inside the garden house. We only had wonderful comments from the guests. We recommend Kent Manor Inn to any bride and groom that are looking for a pretty location with good food and accommodating staff.

We are SO HAPPY that we chose Kent Manor Inn for our wedding location. Our guests are raving about how beautiful the venue is and all of the photos we are getting back look amazing. We wanted an intimate venue (80 guests) where we could stay overnight that had more character than a hotel, and this was just it. The food was top notch, especially the crabcakes (and I am a true Marylander!) We also had 40 guests for the Sunday morning brunch, which was the best decision ever! The brunch buffet is the BEST brunch we have ever attended, and everyone was beyond impressed. Ashley and Danielle were wonderful to work with; Danielle especially on the wedding day really made sure everything ran smoothly and I didn't have to do a thing! They set up everything, and we even had to move the wedding indoors the day of because it was cold. Email response time varied but was very quick as the wedding got closer. Again, this venue was classic, romantic, and amazing for all ages of guests. I don't think it gets more beautiful than this! Thank you!
Kent Manor Inn was a superb place to hold our wedding. From the outset, our dealings with Ashley made us feel totally comfortable and made us feel as if the wedding was as important to them as it was to us. That feeling continued when Danielle was the coordinator on the night of the event. The food was fantastic -- the best I have experienced at a catered function, the staff was incredibly attentive, pleasant and professional, and the location was perfect. The scenery was exactly what we wanted. We had nothing but the most positive feedback from all of our guests regarding every part of the wedding.
All of us would highly recommend the Kent Manor Inn for a wedding or another similar function. Kudos to their entire staff for doing a fantastic job.
From the moment I met Ashley and Danielle, they walked me through the property and answered any questions I had with such a calming, un-rushed attitudes. Throughout the year, they were very timely with replying to my emails, the chef prepared our food with the changes I made without a problem, and the staff at the Inn made me feel like a true queen during my stay there. The staff were quick on their feet the day of the wedding with the last minute changes we had to make because of the rain, they made my guests feel welcome and escorted them with umbrellas into the Garden room. Throughout our picture-taking, we had a few people that butlered food and drinks to us, and throughout the night both my husband and I were catered to.
Danielle set up all my of DIY decorations and utilized the decorations from the outside, in the garden room since the ceremony was moved inside. And the next day all the decorations were packed up and ready for us to take home. I can't wait to go back and celebrate our one year anniversary with them!
We had an absolutely lovely experience with the Kent Manor Inn and would highly recommend it to any future brides/grooms. First, the garden room itself accommodates 150 people and yet is situated in such a way that the event feels extremely intimate. They recently reworked the area with paint and new carpet so it is definitely in great shape. When we looked at a few venues we found that the carpet was tattered, or the paint was chipped away, but the Manor really is impeccable and yet has so much character. The food was fantastic and the catering manager and day-of coordinator were more than happy to accommodate our request to eat together in a Manor room for 15 minutes during the cocktail hour. (sidebar--I highly recommend doing this as it gave us the opportunity to spend the bulk of our reception time greeting each of our guests and having a good time. Also you really need the energy because it is a long day so you food is a great idea at that point).
We received a number of compliments on the food (their crabcakes are divine!) from our guests and the staff were absolutely lovely. They were so polite and personable. After the event was over they made sure to give all of our decor, cake cutting knives, etc. to my parents so we didn't even have to think about it as we were heading off. They have the entire wedding process downpat and are very good about rolling with the punches if any slight changes occur in the planning process.
Ashley Clough is their head catering manager and I cannot underscore enough how easy she was to work with. She has 10 years of experience working with the manner so she has the process down cold. She was also able to walk me through a number of details I just wouldn't have foreseen on my own, and dealt with all 200 of my questions with grace and poise. She always got back to me when I needed something, and was extremely flexible. We had to rework the budget a few times to figure out final numbers and she was more than accommodating when I asked her for several different versions of the pricing.
I only interacted with the day-of coordinator, Danielle, once when she brought us our meal in the Manor room and the rest of the time she was running the entire event behind the scenes (and doing it well, might I add). Incidentally, I have to say that I really liked the fact that they do only one event at a time (as a rule) so their main focus is all on you. They really do a fantastic job and are complete professionals. The venue was perfect for our wedding and we could not have been happier!
This place was perfect, and I don't think I'll ever be able to fully express how amazing Stephanie and all the staff at the Inn are. My husband and I soon realized during our reception and ceremony site hunt that we were not only looking for the right place, but we were also looking for the right person to guide us through the process and help keep things organized. Both of us had a good feeling about Stephanie and we loved the old Historic Inn and the way it backed up to a beautiful peaceful creek in the midst of residential homes, and not an industrial background. Stephanie was simply amazing. She helped us through everything with a smile and a genuine excitement for our big day. She gave us an excellent list of recommended vendors that worked out brilliantly for us. The day of the wedding I was completely relaxed because I knew that Stephanie had everything in order and she would make sure things went smoothly, and they did. Every one of my guests complimented the venue, the food, and the service. We ended up serving everyone Filet and Crabcake, and it was DELICIOUS!!! The kitchen was also wonderful about helping cater to our few gluten, dairy, and shellfish allergies at no extra cost. Speaking of cost, my husband and I were on a budget, and cost was a major factor for us. We were very pleased when all was said and done with how much things cost. We both felt very good about our day and we have absolutely no regrets about anything. Truly. The location is great, close to Annapolis, but its SO quiet and you really do feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. I don't know that we could have had a better experience.
I could not have been happier with the Kent Manor Inn. From the beginning of planning our wedding through wedding weekend, it was perfect. The night before our wedding, a hurricane came through unexpectedly, and there was a lot of debris and we lost power for hours on my wedding day. The Kent Manor Inn never skipped a beat, cleaned it up and brought in generators for us to get ready. The staff is amazing and the venue is beautiful! Anyone is lucky to get married at the Kent Manor Inn!
*Suggestion - have your guests stay there too. We had all of the rooms rented out from my side and it was a celebration all weekend!
It has been a few months since our wedding and our guest still cannot stop commenting on how much they loved the venue and the food! The wait staff was amazing and went above and beyond to take care of my husband and I (he loved that they brought us hors d’oeuvres and drinks while we were taking pictures ☺). With that said, during the planning process we experienced some challenges getting answers to our questions and frequently the answers would lead to more questions (which we sometimes got answers to). Overall we had an amazing wedding day and really enjoyed our experience, but I would suggest being organized and detail oriented if you going to have your wedding here.
Kent manor Inn is a gorgeous wedding venue! The inn itself is beautiful and the garden house where the reception takes place creates an intimate setting where the views of the water are amazing. The food is outstanding too! Ashley and Danielle were such a pleasure to work with on the details!! Everyone else at the inn were very helpful too! My daughter and her husband had a perfect wedding reception here and we would highly recommend it to anyone!!
We could not have asked for a more beautiful venue! Everyone at Kent Manor did their very best to ensure that our wedding was just how we dreamed. My guests are still raving about how great the food was and how classy the venue was. From the moment I checked-in everything was just perfect; everyone at Kent Manor ensured that our special day went as planned.
LOVE LOVE LOVE Kent Manor! The staff including Ashley, Danielle, and Ann were absolutely amazing! Our wedding was pretty much perfect and I can't thank them enough. We planned our wedding from 2 states away and they made it seamless. We are looking forward to heading back up for our anniversary next year!
I had a morning wedding. The food was fabulous! The venue was gorgeous! Most important, I suffer from crohns disease and for peace of mind wanted to be close to a bathroom at all times. We wanted an outside ceremony, and they made fantastic suggestions that we went with - both beautiful and convenient. Kent Manor is awesome.
This place was amazing. I would recommend this venue to any bride who wants a romantic setting by the water. We had so much fun and the customer service was fa nominal as was the food. They really attended to your needs and on your wedding day and even after the wedding day that is the Wedding Coordinator Daniell would ask do you need anything, even though she had two other weddings the next day. Ann in the front was great at attending to our needs as well and if someone wasn't around she would be there to help us and answer any questions. We went Kyaking the next day and my husband fell in and they dried my husbands clothes for him. The only thing I didn't like was that they took on too much at once and I think their was too much commotion and it was too hectic. If you do decide to have a wedding there I would recommend you do it on a Friday as it is 3,000 dollars cheaper and your not worrying about rushing because of another wedding. You would also be able to have time to yourselves and with your family and able to relax more if you do yours on a Friday.
Our wedding was a year ago, and our guests are still telling us what a great time they had. They loved staying in the INN, enjoying the comfortable porches and parlors, the breakfasts and the infused water -- and that was only the INN. The wedding location was perfect with the entry bridge as a welcoming face of the nuptials. The gazebo with the water backdrop provided the natural setting we wanted. A pair of geese even flew over just as the vows were being spoken. (Geese mate for life). No, we did not pay extra fro that!
The cocktail hour entertained our guests while we were busy with pictures; however, we, too were able to enjoy spirits and food because the servers brought us champagne and hors d'oeuvres. They allowed us to use the huge sparklers for the exit --
The people who handle weddings from the chef to the staff-- lovely people and very caring. They want you to feel that your wedding is the only one they are working on.
This is one of beautiful place and the staff is very friendly and caring. I am very satisfied by their wor
Kent Manor Inn was fantastic! Easy to communicate with and always available to answer any questions. Friendly staff. Delicious food. Very accommodating and flexible- KMI was always willing to go the extra mile. I would highly recommend this venue.
Jay and I could not have been more happy and pleased to have had our wedding ceremony and reception at Kent Manor Inn. Ashley was great throughout the entire planning process. I certainly bombarded her with multiple requests and questions! Ashley's flexibility was awesome- "no" was never an answer! She really helped us accomplish everything we wanted! The tasting was so fun and the Chef too was so flexible and accommodated our special requests- that meant a lot! The day of, the food was amazing! Our guests especially loved the lobster mac and cheese! Also on the day of, we had Ashley and Danielle with us the entire time. Danielle was a rockstar. I really wanted someone to tell me where I needed to be and at what time- and Danielle made it happen! Kent Manor was a PERFECT location for us. We essentially had the entire place to ourselves! It made spending time with our family and friends intimate and exclusive. We really could not have been happier.... We would recommend Kent Manor Inn for sure to anyone and plan to visit for our one year anniversary!
Kent Manor Inn was an absolute dream. We did our entire wedding weekend there. We had our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, and brunch at the Inn. They provided us with a day-of coordinator which made everything run smoothly. The early planning process was slightly stressful due to the Catering Manager, Ashley Clough, not always returning emails/calls promptly and not completely answering questions in detail. She was better once the wedding was 2-3 months out. However, the overall experience was beyond fabulous and we couldn't have been happier. The Inn itself is gorgeous. The rooms are very B&B and comfy. Our immediate family, entire wedding party & their dates, and a few other people were able to stay at the Inn. It made it feel like a getaway weekend for the wedding. The food was delicious and never disappointed. We highly recommend the spice rubbed pork! The staff that helped out with the rehearsal dinner, reception, and brunch were very professional and always made us feel welcome. The Inn and surrounding grounds are perfect for pictures and are extremely romantic. The Garden House was the ideal size for our reception (115 people) while feeling very intimate. Overall, the Kent Manor Inn is the best place for a wedding if you want to emulate the wedding weekend atmosphere with great food, beautiful sights, and amazing service. My husband and I could not be more pleased with our wedding memories. The response from our friends and family was that it was the best wedding they had ever been to. Period. It's a little pricey, depending on your budget, but it is worth every penny.
The Kent Manor Inn, Ashley, and Danielle, made my daughter's wedding absolutely perfect. The venue was beautiful, the food was fantastic, and the service was impeccable. Several of our guests told us it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever attended. The rooms were charming and NOTHING was too much trouble for the staff. They made the entire wedding process flow so easily that we were "stress free" during the entire event. The entire week-end was first class, from the beautiful rehearsal dinner on the deck, to the charming cereemony on the water, to the first class reception in the Garden House. I would recommend the Inn to ANYONE in need of a first class venue with a first class staff to put it all together. Absolutely FABULOUS.
Had an amazing wedding thank you to KMI, Ashley, Danielle, and the many staff members that helped coordinate our big day. We booked a year and a half in advance to reserve our date and that was a big relief, knowing we had such a beautiful place waiting for us. We visited close to 30 venues in the MD/VA/DC area but fell in love with KMI's natural beauty, history, and serenity (which also made for AWESOME wedding pictures!). Everyone we worked with was very accommodating and flexible and made our day all that we wanted it to be. All of our guests are still talking about the beauty and perfection of the inn. Ashley answered countless questions and provided advice as needed to help with our planning. Some of the special touches provided on your wedding day aren't laid out and leave you hoping all goes smoothly... but in the end it went perfectly and this details added that much more to the uniqueness and memories as well. Danielle was a very calming day-of coordinator and moved everything through the process on schedule, as planned. My only complaint would be that it was sometimes difficult to get timely answers to questions... but I have to admit that goes both ways since I was busy with planning and didn't always provide the fastest answers either! And it isn't cheap... but what wedding is these days?! It was so worth it!
AMAZING! Our daughters wedding was spectacular!!! We enjoyed every moment of it. This venue is gorgeous, the food is great, the staff is wonderful and especially Ashley, the wedding planner, she accomodated our every need. Three weeks prior to the wedding we realized that the "Ride Across America" was happening the same day and would shut down the Bay Bridge to normal traffic for at least an hour, which happened to be the same hour of my daughters wedding. Ashley helped us to set up accomodations for guest arriving alot earlier as to avoid the bridge closure. Coffee, tea, cookies, water whatever we asked for she provided. Not one guest was delayed because of the closure and the willingness of Kent Manor to accomodate them. Just cant say enough good things, but Thank you for the beautiful memories.
Lovely venue and very helpful. Worked with me for a slightly different type of wedding party.
Everyone was very helpful and service during the party was great. The only slight mishap was I was missing items from tables that were packed up following the party. I would highly recommend Kent Manor to anyone looking for a wonderful place for ceremony and reception.
I want to thank Ashley and the wonderful staff at the Historic Kent Manor Inn for helping to make my wedding weekend a memorable event for all who attended. My hopes of bringing both families together in a beautiful, peaceful, waterfront setting came true on November 5-7, due to the dedication and professionalism of the Inn’s Staff. Throughout the entire planning process, they were there to lend their guidance and support.
The Inn’s 24 rooms were filled to capacity with friends and family members of the my husband and I. This provided us with an experience that was priceless. The warmth and coziness of the inn created a wonderful atmosphere for us to socialize and relax. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their stay—they were sad to see it end.
And the wedding day…PERFECT! From the early morning continental breakfast, to the exchange of wedding vows at the gazebo, to the amazing hors d’oeuvres and dinner entrees served at the reception in the Garden House--every detail came together for a dream-come-true wedding!
Thanks again to everyone at the Kent Manor Inn for giving us these wonderful memories.
Great venue and staff! Provided everything we needed for our wedding day, location, service, and lodging!
Catering staff was top notch!
Kent Manor has an absolutely beautiful setting for both the ceremony and reception. We got married right at the beautiful gazebo along the water. The night before at the rehearsal we realized that it would be very hot for the guests to sit in the sun, so the Manor accommodated us by moving all the chairs to the other side of the gazebo so that the guests were sitting in the shade of the trees. They also moved a table around in the Garden House when we looked at it and realized that we didn't like the way it looked. The food is absolutely WONDERFUL and we got so many complements on it from our guests. They were flexible and I was able to personalize our wedding so that it was exactly what I had always dreamed of. The manor itself has a personality of its own which really added to the abidance of our wedding.
Venue: It's gorgeous. The website pictures don't do it justice. With Thompson Creek as a background, the gazebo, pier, and huge tree make for beautiful pictures. (During the ceremony, we had one jetski start up with a "woohoo!" but otherwise, no noise from the water). The cocktail hour is uphill from the water, under trees just outside the Garden House. My guests went on the porch of the Inn. The Garden House is beautiful inside: high ceilings, chandelier, built-in dance floor, Chivari chairs, yellow accents. Air-conditioned and very nice bathrooms. Fire capacity is 150 and that's a tight fit. Just keep in mind getting there can be tricky in the summer with Bay Bridge traffic (we didn't have any problems on a Saturday night though!)
Before: First of all, the Kent Manor must release dates in a very logical order--they had my wedding date 13 months before! (Most places in Baltimore are all booked about 18 months out). Ashley is very nice to work with and very hands-off, so for me it was helpful to have a planner to ask questions.
Food: It's nice having a restaurant there so you can see the venue at any time. The food is delicious and the menu is extensive. The tasting was lots of fun. Our guests commented on how good everything was. Plus, they bring you cocktail hour food during your pictures so you DO get to eat! We did a plated meal and were served first--again, we ate our fill. You can bring in your own cake and there is no cake-cutting fee.
Rooms: The Kent Manor has about 20 guest rooms, and you reserve a block of these at locked-in rates. It was pricey, but convenient for grandmas. The bridal suites are beautiful and balconies make for great pictures! Breakfast the next morning was welcome.
Day-of: Everyone is so nice! The hotel staff were accommodating to all our requests, from plates for our Wawa hoagies to extra water for guests. Even though there was another wedding the next day, I felt as if everyone was focused on my day. My vendors came about 3 hours early and started setting up without any issues. My photographer was overwhelmed with choices for picture locations. The Kent Manor provided many tables for the ceremony and various places for the reception. There was the perfect amount of food, both during the cocktail hour and reception. Our servers were personable, professional, and funny.
In short, I HIGHLY recommend the Kent Manor! My wedding was perfect and the KMI was a large part of that.
Our dealings with the Kent Manor Inn were nothing short of wonderful from start to finish. Working with the Wedding Coordinator, Ashley Clough, was a dream. Ashley was very easy to work with and was always responsive, flexible, professional, and timely in her communications. She helped us to create a wonderful event that ran smoothly. The Garden House is the perfect location for a reception as it creates an intimate and romantic atmosphere perfect for celebrating a new marriage. The service staff was nothing short of excellent and was very friendly. The food tasted AMAZING; however, the presentation was a little lacking. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better service experience. I would highly recommend Kent Manor to anyone looking for a top notch event venue.
Ashley and the team at Kent Manor Inn were a delight to work with for our wedding this past weekend. The food was fantastic and they went out of their way to make sure all our guests were taken care of (some had allergies). Guests had nothing but great things to say about the venue and the food.
We chose the venue for many reasons: it was waterfront (to Thompson Creek), easy to get to from Route 50, the reception venue was unique and beautiful on its own so did not need additional decor, and the chef got rave reviews from the Washington Post.
Ashley - Thank you for all your help.
The Kent Manor Inn did a "first class job", very elegant. We held the wedding at the church so only used the site -- The Garden House --for the reception. Part of the package includes the bridal suite for the bride and groom for their wedding night. Their event coordinator - Ashley - was wonderful thoughout the process. The location is absolutely beautiful, combining the charm of historic Maryland with the charm of the water. The grounds include a small bridge and a dock in addition to the historic manor house. All of which are available for pictures. Our photographers took some incredible pictures. The reception was a plated dinner for 100 people in the Garden House. It was a nice fit, too many more and it would have been crowded. We personally met with the chef several months earlier and he worked with us to create a custom menu at a reasonable price. The presentation of the food was wonderful and everyone said the food tasted great. At our request they put a cold basket of food in the bridal suite for the bride and groom to eat after the reception.
Ashley and her crew were outstanding and i highly recomend them to everyone ! My favorite part was how faithful the catering staff was to serving us drinks and food during the photos ! I had requested that some food and drinks be brought over, since we would miss most of the cocktail hour doing photos. The staff was wonderful in continually bringing over food and drinks for everyone, and even following us as we changed photo shoot locations ! Our bridal party was VERY appreciative !
Everything about Kent Manor was just amazing and the staff was just outstanding !
Ashley and the staff at kent manor made my day truly stress free. Ashley was also a great person to plan with as she was very patient with my decision making! We got married on a Thursday in July and our garden ceremony was perfect. perfect weather, perfect view. Every one of my guests raved about how much they loved the place. As the bride, I was getting my hair and make-up done all day in the bridal suite and found that being at kent manor kept me calm and relaxed, even when there was an issue with my rented linens. Ashley took care of it for me! Lastly, having the house filled with guests allowed the wedding to continue. My dad got to spend time with his friends on the balcony, some sat on the front porch, some hung out by the gazebo. The food was also amazing! The perfect venue!
The Inn was a beautiful setting and the food was amazing. The staff was willing to work with us on a near daily basis during our planning, and they were pretty responsive to questions and concerns that we had. We had many compliments on the grounds and the inn itself.
Kent Manor Inn was a great venue for our wedding! They are very thorough and easy to work with. Everyone commented on the beautiful location of the wedding - it was definitely perfect!
I cannot say enough good things about Ashley Clough regarding my wedding experience at Kent Manor on October 12, 2008. She is truly exceptional in her role and responsibilities at Catering Manager. Although I was busy with wedding preparations, I received a lot of comments from my cousin, who was my wedding day coordinator, in addition to my family and friends.
Here are specific comments about working with Ashley Clough
I thought Ashley was very professional, polite, and efficient. She does what she promises and with a smile too! For example, when I called her at 1:00PM to let her know that the chairs were dirty and insufficient, she said that her staff will come in at 2:30PM to clean them and add the appropriate number of chairs. And at 2:30pm they did exactly as she promised and they set up the programs and fans as well.
At first, the tables in the Garden House were arranged incorrectly because there was no room for the band. Ashley immediately apologized and fixed it right away. Ashley also made sure all the menus were set up at each place setting.
I really enjoyed working with a person who can deliver. Ashley gets an A+ from me. She also has a great positive can do attitude which makes her a joy to work with.
Regarding the Kent Manor staff including the waiters, bartenders, etc, I received a lot of praise for their excellent service, consideration, and conduct. I was very distracted and feeling a little nauseous since I was stressed out your staff really went out of there way to make me feel comfortable.
The Kent Manor staff was extremely polite, courteous, and efficient requests did not have to be repeated twice. Every need was addressed immediately! For example, I asked one of the waitresses to light the candles in the Garden House when the lion dance began. I came in to check later, and it was done as I requested.
The staff really worked with everyone to make everything we needed possible. We needed a place for the seating chart and one of the waitresses immediately supplied a gold easel for us to use. We really felt taken care of.
When the fireworks show began, there were some guests who remained in the Garden House so I asked one of the waitresses to dim the lights she immediately dropped what she was doing to dim the lights. After the fireworks show, the same waitress approached me to ask if I needed anything else. I liked the fact that she took the initiative to seek me out to inquire if I had anymore requests. The service really impressed me.
The staff was amazing. I cant get over how attentive and positive they were with all the guests. The whole experience at Kent Manor will be remembered by the smiles and warm attention of the all the staff providing such excellent service that night.
Although I did not have the opportunity to eat, I did receive a lot of feedback on the food. Overall, the appetizers during the cocktail reception were excellent, but the dinner entrees fell far short of expectations. I was very concerned about the quality of the food even after the two menu tasting appointments. I am very disappointed that our family and friends did not have the top-notch culinary experience that I expected from Kent Manor, especially since one of the key reasons why I chose to have my wedding at Kent Manor was for the food.
The cocktails and appetizers were delicious. We couldn't get enough of them. Great choice on the wonton, scallop, and mushroom!
The salad was limp and wilted the portions were ridiculous. Why even serve such a salad?
The lobster bisque soup was very cold and gross by the time it got to us. It would have tasted wonderful if it was hot.
The steak was decent, but it was cold!
The chicken was dry, rubbery, and tasteless. Our table was fighting for the salt to give it some flavor to resuscitate it. We tried to help it go down with some bread, but, to our dismay, we found that we couldn't tell which was drier, the bread or the chicken.
The kids complained that their chicken fingers were too salty and oily. They just ate the fries and we had to go out to find more food for them.
Regarding the Kent Manor grounds, the weather was brilliant, which really highlighted the beauty of the setting. I mentioned to you before how terrible the cheap plastic lawn chairs clash with such an elegant setting. I know that guests are only sitting on the chair for 30 minutes, but the chairs are an eye-sore in pictures and video, which is terrible given the $3,395 site fee. Paying an additional $500 for chair upgrades would be ridiculous. The lawn around the Garden House was also very dirty with piles of animal droppings and long grass, which may have contributed to the swarms of mosquitoes attacking me and the guests. I counted over a dozen mosquito bites on my arms, back and legs! I hate to think what the guests thought about the mosquito swarms and the untidy lawn The grass should have been cut and insect repellent fire torches should have been installed to protect guests from the swarm of mosquitoes.
We got married at Kent Manor Inn on May 3, 2008. A month later, our guests are still talking about what a wonderful and beautiful place it was to have a wedding ceremony and reception. The catering manager, Ashley, and the rest of the employees were wonderful and VERY helpful - from the day we booked the venue, to the day we did our tasting, to the day of the wedding. The atmosphere was very inviting, the surroundings gorgeous and the food absolutely delicious! I would highly recommend Kent Manor to anyone!
The day was mostly a blur for me as the bride but everyone I talked to said how much they loved the reception. I had comments such as "this was the best food at a reception that I have ever had" and several comments about how lovely the place was. I really enjoyed working with the caterer; she was very responsive and right on top of things but not too pushy. that night at the reception was very relaxing and I didn't feel like i had to worry about anything. It was a great choice to make with Kent Manor Inn
The food was absolutely phenomenal - thank you! I would have liked it if the bar had a more flexible rate (not charging us for the people who don't drink a drop, for example). The Kent Manor staff was very friendly and helpful. I heard numerous compliments on the professionalism of the staff (with one exception, where a guest had to ask them to be quiet in the kitchen during a toast). During the preparations they day of, there were a few miscommunications, but I understand there were family/personnel issues that day and so we were understanding. Overall, we had a wonderful wedding and would definitely recommend Kent Manor.
As a ceremony and reception venue, the value is fantastic. I believe the venue for both only cost me about $1,500. The only restriction they really have is that you have to use their catering if you want any food, which is relatively expensive ($80+ per person). But since they are also an Inn and Restaurant, their food was beyond delicious! The site is really perfect for an outdoor wedding, as it is right on one of the Chesapeake Bay tributaries, and there is a nice pavilion right in front of the water and a dock. The Garden House, where the reception is held, has a nice central elevated dance floor and bar, and is surrounded by french doors. Beautiful for the fall and spring! The Inn rooms are all very nice and richly decorated. The only real problem I had with Kent Manor was that at time the Wedding Planner and Catering Manager of Kent Manor Inn was not only the same person, but VERY young and inexperienced, and never returned my phone calls. I had to resort to calling the owner's of the Inn, who are not local. The wedding planner/catering manager was supposed to be at the site the day of the wedding, to keep the activities on schedule, troubleshoot, etc., but did not show up. One of the caterers/waitress ended up managing the affair.
The innate beauty of the site is beautiful, but the service was less than helpful.
I would highly recommend the Kent Manor Inn. The setting is beautiful and I received so many compliments from my guest. It was very convenient having the ceremony and reception all in one place. The setting is by the water and my pictures turned out great. The garden room is decorated very nicely. It's a little small, but cozy. The room can only hold up to 150 guests, but space was not a problem. My only complaint was that the wedding coordinator was hard to get in touch with during the planning stages. However, the staff that worked the wedding was great and everything went smoothly. If you are looking for somewhere unique and different than a hotel I would recommend the Kent Manor Inn.
Kent Manor Inn is beautiful. The food is fabulous and its a wonderful location for an outdoor wedding ceremony.
I am not sure if Julie is still in charge of handling weddings at KMI, but she was wonderful. We were thrilled with everything.
We got marred at the Kent Manor Inn in June 2004, and seven years later, people still tell us how beautiful our wedding was! I love that the venue provided all the catering, chairs, serving staff, linens and place settings, so that we didn't have to fuss with those details. The food was very good (from what I can remember!) and was presented nicely. But the setting was probably the major selling point for me. We were wed in front of a white gazebo with the creek behind us, and all the guests sat on a lush green lawn, facing a beautiful waterway surrounded by reeds and trees. Then, we all moved inside to the glass-sided reception building - no one had to drive away from the location and try to find their way to a reception. In between the wedding and reception, serving staff brought pink lemonade and fresh strawberries to the lawn for all the guests and wedding party, while more pictures were taken. All of our outdoor pictures are so pretty. The only drawback was the bridal suite inside the Inn, which was old-fashioned (maybe they have redecorated since then?) and wasn't my taste. We gave the suite to our pastor and his wife and spent the night in D.C. ourselves. I absolutely loved getting married here and definitely recommend it.
As it was my second marriage, and I was marrying a widow, we wanted just a discrete small gathering for our reception. The Kent Manor was responsive to our every need without being intrustive. We were given a private dining room and had a time of wine and appetizers before the meal. The wine list was exceptional and the food was scrumptous. We were very happy to have chosen this venue.
Unfortunately, our wedding was a few weeks after 9/11 and we had some last minute cancellations due to travel logistics. Kent Manor Inn wasn't very flexible with this problem and still charged me for numbers I had provided weeks prior. In addition, we stayed on site and met with several problems such as losing reservations for one of the members of our wedding party, rooms not being cleaned properly, not having an iron to use and not wanting to disturb guests from the wedding the night before and having to go to the owners home to get one for our wedding guests to use, and issues with our beer selection at the reception (we had ordered specific kegs of beer weeks prior and we're given bottles of beer as a replacement, except it was Guiness and we all know Guiness beer in the bottle is totally different from tap) Most of the problems may seem small, however, to a bride who is expecting perfection, they were quite monumental. Management had changed hands between our selecting their venue and the wedding, so hopefully management has gained some valuable experience since then. The site is beautiful and allowed us to have an indoor backup plan in case of rain which fortunately we didn't have to use. On-site coordinator was nice, but very hard to get a response from due to her being overwhelmed with so many weddings and was often not cordial.
Kent Manor Inn is one of Kent Island's best kept secrets. Its unique secluded charm with an intimate feel is ideal for any wedding!
This amazing property is one of the best venues in Maryland. With so many photo oppertunities from waterfront to vintage and even a bit of rustic there is something for everyone.

We have been fortunate enough to have worked on many events at Kent Manor Inn over the years. What a picturesque venue- Chesapeake charm at it's best! Their staff is friendly, helpful, and very easy to work with!
Lovely!! I have officiated many wedding ceremonies at this beautiful historic inn located just over the Bay Bridge in Stevensville. Their outdoor ceremony alternative is such a fabulous setting with all the gardens, the gazebo and the water. Cocktails on the lawn make for such a beautiful evening, and the glass-enclosed garden room is the perfect way to enjoy your reception!
Beautiful location and venue, we love decorating the gazebo and inside the garden house with our flowers.
Ashley and the other staff are a pleasure to work with.

We have provided music for three weddings at Kent Manor (and counting..) and have completely fallen in love with this venue. The picturesque inn and the beautiful large trees on the property just exude charm and comfort, and the waterfront dock adds to the eastern shore feel. We are always amazed at how different and more relaxed life feels just across the bay bridge! This venue also has plenty of photo opportunities and as a couple you will be able to capture a wide range of images and backgrounds. Truly a unique and picturesque venue.
We love working at Kent Manor Inn. The staff is always so helpful and willing to help with whatever we may need. The location is beautiful and the food is wonderful! (We love attending there brunch for Mothers Day, etc.) The décor at Kent Manor Inn only makes our flowers more beautiful and we would highly recommend them for your next event!
